We can finally feel as if we’re thinking clearly again this month! Clever Mercury turns direct on June 3 after having been retrograde since May 10. The day after Mercury’s movement, responsible Saturn spins retrograde. These two planets create an excellent time to re-evaluate the structures of our lives. The Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 14 helps as well, heightening our awareness of significant matters in all of our lives.
Then, a New Moon in Cancer on June 28 promises a fresh start regarding how we handle our emotional needs. This can apply to our domestic worlds — but also our love lives. Speaking of which, matters of the heart will be quite a roller coaster in June! An electrifying Venus-Uranus conjunction in Taurus on June 11 could bring an unexpected twist in love or financial matters, while the square between Venus and Saturn on June 18 shows whether or not the potential surprise in this area of our life is sustainable. Venus also slides into Gemini on June 22, making romance more open and playful. Our approach to love can become more curious and no longer stifled by pungent expectations. Things should feel so much lighter.

WHAT PLANETS ARE RETROGRADE JUNE 2022? MORE THAN YOU MIGHT THINK
From elitedaily.com
Overall, June will actually be a pretty quiet month compared to the last two, but we’re not completely in the clear just yet. In June 2022, there will be three planets retrograde at one point — but the good thing is, one of them will be ending very early in the month. Retrograde periods are a time to review, reflect, and reassess, and while they can sometimes make things feel a bit confusing, they do actually serve an important purpose. Every astro planet (except for the sun and the moon) retrogrades at some point, making it a pretty common occurrence for the cosmos, so not to worry — you’ve lived through plenty.

JUN. 24: TEMPLAR HOLY DAY. In the Roman calendar this day was thought to be Summer Solstice. The Church renamed this pagan holiday to St. John the Baptist Day. Templars revered it highly. On Jun 24, 1314 a mysterious band of knights joined Robert the Bruce of Scotland on the battlefield making his victory at Bannockburn possible. These knights could only have been the a troop of disbanded and now in-hiding Templars who had fled to western Scotland. St. John’s day was used by Freemasons in 1717 to found the first public (non-Scottish) Order of Freemasonry in London. Masonic teachings are said to descend from the esoteric Christianity of Templarism. St. John the Baptizer was beheaded because he wouldn’t give in and sacrifice his principles. This is a Templar ideal, as is the constancy and regularity — order out of chaos — of the solstices and equinoxes. So for both reasons, Christian and “pagan,” we observe this day.
– Feast of the Sun (Aztec)
– Midsummer Bride (Swedish)
– Inti Raymi (Incan)

Moon Alert
After 2 AM EDT today, there are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions today. The Moon is in Cancer.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This is a lovely day for interactions with family and people at home. Basically, you can choose one of two things: You can entertain and putter around home with redecorating ideas. Or else, you can relax and cocoon at home in a private way. It’s your call.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You feel happy and upbeat today, which is why you will enjoy your interactions with others. You feel so good, you will have a greater appreciation of your everyday surroundings. Ah yes, life feels good and you’re grateful to be alive! That’s how it should be.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is a favourable day for business and commerce, which is why whatever you do today might increase your wealth or boost your earnings or attract money to you now and in the future. If shopping, you will want to buy pretty things for yourself and loved ones.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
This is a wonderful day for you because the Moon is in your sign dancing with both lucky Jupiter and fair Venus. This makes you feel generous to everyone. You want to help people who are in need. (This is a good thing because of course, what goes around comes around.)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You feel philanthropic today, which is why you will find it easy to put the needs of others before your own needs. You’re not being a martyr — it’s just what needs to be done. In turn, you will be rewarded and admired for being a caring, considerate person.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Group activities are blessed today. Therefore, accept all invitations and enjoy the company of others. Not only will your interactions with others be upbeat, they will also be mutually beneficial because people are willing to help each other today.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You will be admired today. You will especially be admired if you are in a position of prominence where people notice you more than usual. That’s because you will be seen as someone who is benevolent and generous to those in need. (It’s a Robin Hood thang.)
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Today you might be attracted to religion, philosophy or subjects that encompass life as a whole. Intellectual ideas will appeal. You might also want to travel or do the next best thing – talk to people from other countries and different cultures.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
This is a good day to ask for a loan or mortgage from a bank. It’s also a good day to decide how to divide or share something, especially an inheritance because whatever happens, you’ll come out smelling like a rose. Lucky you!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Relations with partners and close friends will be warm and caring today, which makes this a lovely day to schmooze with others. Make social plans. At least, enjoy a warm one-to-one encounter with someone close to you. Why not treat them to something special? (Even little things can be special.)
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
You will accomplish more today by working with groups. You might also work with other countries or people from other cultures. Work-related travel is also likely. No matter what you do, you will feel benevolent and generous to others, which is a good thing. (Especially for you.)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
This is a fantastic day to socialize and enjoy yourself with friends, as well as young people and children. It’s a great date day! Take a long lunch. Enjoy entertaining diversions, picnics, barbecues, hikes or a drive in the country. Your theme for today is to have fun!
If Your Birthday Is Today
Actress Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) shares your birthday today. You are charming, witty and easily attract attention wherever you go. People like you. Personally, you are creative, curious, serious and thoughtful. This year is a time of building for you. Some of you will build structures that are physical in the world. Others will build internal structures that help you function.

Tau Herculids Meteors over Kitt Peak Telescopes
Image Credit & Copyright: Jianwei Lyu (Steward Obs., U. Arizona)
Explanation: It wasn’t the storm of the century — but it was a night to remember. Last night was the peak of the Tau Herculids meteor shower, a usually modest dribble of occasional meteors originating from the disintegrating Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3. This year, calculations showed that the Earth might be passing through a particularly dense stream of comet debris — at best creating a storm of bright meteors streaking out from the constellation of Hercules. What actually happened fell short of a meteor storm, but could be called a decent meteor shower. Featured here is a composite image taken at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona, USA accumulated over 2.5 hours very late on May 30. Over that time, 19 Tau Herculids meteors were captured, along with 4 unrelated meteors. (Can you find them?) In the near foreground is the Bok 2.3-meter Telescope with the 4.0-meter Mayall Telescope just behind it. Next year, the annual Tau Herculids are expected to return to its normal low rate, with the next active night forecast for 2049.

Familiar
A witch’s pet that has the ability to communicate–usually telepathically–with its owner. More specifically, the familiar is an assistant or partner in magickal and spiritual workings. Traditionally, familiars were spirits who took animal form; however, many Witches today will refer to any of their flesh-and-blood animal loved ones as their familiars regardless of the traditional meaning of the term.

From Spells8.com
Familiar
An entity that has a spiritual bond with a Witch on a higher plane, sometimes said to shape-shift into a physical being such as a companion animal.
Familiars and a Pet
Familiars and a Pet…NOT the same thing. Nor should you want your beloved pet to be your Familiar. For a modern witch to lay claim to a Familiar spirit, the animal must have made a pact with the witch.
