Papua-New Guinea: Waratambar, the day of thanksgiving to God and Nature for the goodness of the harvest. In New Ireland villages, people celebrate with song and dance in costumes representing comic characters. It is a big day for gatherings of family and friends.

Swaziland, Umhlanga week at the royal city of Lobamba, Swaziland. Young girls gather reeds for several days and on the sixth bring them to the queen or queen mother of this African monarchy. Before the queen, they dance the umhlanga, a slow processional dance. The girls throw reeds in the air as a coming-of-age rite. On day seven, the girls rebuild the screens around the royal kraal with reeds.

England: Chimney sweeps’ feast. Begun in the early 19th century by a man named Jem White, in Smithfield. Only the young child apprentices to the master-sweeps were invited, and Jem White himself was head waiter.

In the romance languages such as Italian or Spanish, this day of the week is called Lunes and clearly relates to the word lunar.On Mondays, a variety of magick may be worked. Because Monday centers on the energies of the Moon, things like psychism, dreams, feminine energy, health, success in spiritual pursuits, domestic matters, and things of family origin are especially important this day.

Mondays are best for love magick and anything concerning home or family, thus old saying, Mondays child is fair of face, which seems clearly to relate to the themes of love and health.

Angels of Monday are Gabriel, Arcan, Missabu, and Abuzaha. Arcan is known as the king of the angels of air and the “ruler” of Monday. Abuzaha (Abuzohar) serves Monday, and is very responsive to invocations and ritual magick. Missabu is a ministering angel of Arcan.

Check whether the moon is waning or waxing to determine what your spell will be. During waning moons, do spells to rid yourself of obstacles or for wisdom and protection. During waxing moons do magic for increase of any kind or to draw something into your life.

Home or Business Protection Spell

To bless your home or business, place a bowl of candy, herbs or stones by your front entrance. Bless the bowl’s contents by speaking aloud the following verse:

“As all who enter here are Children of the Great Mother,
May those who pass always walk safely in her steps.
May they feel the guidance of her hand,
And know she is always with us,
From the time we meet till we meet again.”

Invite visitors to take an offering as they enter the premises.

The Bottle Spell

Used to neutralize the power of those who intend to do you physical harm, or
hurt your reputation, or in any way pose a threat to your security. You Will
need:
4 tbsps. Frankincense or Myrrh
4 tbsps. Black powdered Iron
4 tbsps. Sea Salt
4 tbsps. Orris-root Powder (or oak moss)
1 white candle
1 bottle with a cork or lid
Mortar and pestle
Parchment Paper
Black Ink or black ballpoint pen
Black thread

Mix the sea salt, orris-root powder, and the iron in a bowl. Then cut a piece
of parchment to fit inside your bottle and write on it with black ink:
I neutralize the power of (name of adversary) to do me any harm.
I ask that this be correct and for the good of all.
So mote it be!
Roll up the parchment, tie it with a black thread to bind it, and place it in the
bottle. Fill the bottle with the dry ingredients. Then take the white candle and
while turning the bottle counterclockwise, drip the wax over the cork to seal
it. Last, secretly bury the bottle in a place where it will not be disturbed and
no animals or people will dig it up. This spell is like a genie in a bottle. It
should never be unleashed or the power of the spell is lost.

Spell to bring Love

SPELL TO BRING LOVE

(for the record this is not my spell, it is Mystie’s)

Equipment: related candle (I only had white), an oil to dress it with (I used lavender as it is my favorite scent and I feel more relaxed and strong when using it), a lighter, and I put it in a pumpkin to make it more interesting and because it was Samhain.

Dress the candle, and say quietly to yourself the following words while lighting the candle, say it at least more than three times, I can’t remember how many times I said it but it was definitely a few at different times in the stages of the candle burning. Let the candle burn out, and say it once more when the candle has died. Then I left the pumpkin and candle for three days.

‘Oh lady of love, oh lord of love,

send to me my true love, love divine,

love of time, send me the man
(woman) I pine, this man (woman)

I seek will make me complete,

therefore as this candle burns find
him quickly before the wheel does turn

with harm to none this spell is done. So mote it be.’

This can be made more complicated and a magic circle will make it more powerful.

I don’t know that is why I am asking you, lol! Seriously though, we have been busy little bees around here. I don’t know if you have noticed it or not but we have picked up a few more sponsors. It seems like every day now, we are getting a new one, I ain’t complaining at all. You do remember that dream we had about buying some land and building a Pagan Gathering Center? I do all the time and I am constantly trying to think of ways to come up with the money to do just exactly that. I don’t like asking any of you for money nor do I like to feel like I am bleeding you dry. Sponsors are the answer to our prayers. Sponsors mean money. The more sponsors we can accommodate, the more money we will make. Of course, all of them want to be on this site. But this site can only hold so much. Right now, we are running over at the brim.

I told you I had been going through our old sites. I ran across one that I loved and it was a successful site. The only problem is that the site hosting it deleted almost all the info on it. I am currently in the process of rebuilding the categories. For a little bit this afternoon, I am going to work on rebuilding its spell categories. The reason I am telling you this is because you are going to see a lot of spells running through here also. I figure what the heck, while I am putting them on there, I might as well put them on here and in our Shadow Book. There will be all sorts of spells coming through, I will try to keep the darker ones off of here. But just in case one slips through close your eyes real quick, lol!
