We are stopping the daily divinations, the reason….

Because I happen to be an idoit! We were having problems with our IE and Firefox browsers. I was fed up with both of them because we could hardly post. Then I was talking to a few people over the weekend. Those individuals were talking about how great Windows 10 was and how fast it was. Oh yeah, it was just super great. Since we were having problems with the two browsers we normally use, I decided to download Windows 10 on one computer. Guess which one? The one I use daily. It might be super for people who surf the web but when it comes to what we do, it sucks!

 

We have contracts with various sites we use daily. One of the requirements is that we use their logos. Of course, I can’t blame them. I always insist on a link back to us. It use to be simply to grab their logos and run. Ha, today was a totally different story. I did what I normally do and a page element pops up in the middle of the page. You have to sit there and wait for it to find the script you want. Then you copy and paste it, not on your site but on your WordPad or something as I learned this morning. Because what you pull out to get the logo has a whole lot of other garbage with it. You have to remove it and the hopefully you have the image you are after.

 

We got up early this morning. Prepared to deliver our daily publication and it is now five hours later and we don’t have crap done. I am sorry for all those people out there that loves Window 10 but in my opinion (which we all know what that is worth) it SUCKS! But I guarantee you one thing, this little devil of a computer program shall not beat me. I will learn it one way or the other. Or else, I will go back to my old computer which has Windows 8.1 on it, THANK THE GODDESS!

 

Right now I am so glad I only downloaded it on one computer. If I had downloaded it on all our computers you would have been able to hear me cussing and screaming all the way up in Alaska. So after such a wonderful day(NOT), we are calling it a day. I am going to go take a couple of Valium (it I had any) and Tylenol and get rid of this headache. Tonight, I am conquering this damn computer one way or the other. Tomorrow, I guarantee you, we will be back, bright, early and ready to go.

Today is the day to use dragon energy. Dragon energy is straightforward, so be careful for what you ask. You will receive it in the most direct way. Be very specific. Dragon logic is not human logic. Dragon moves from A to B, and simply removes anything in its way. For example: an acquaintance asked Dragon, without going into specifics, to change her living situation. As a result, a few days later there was a fire in her apartment building, and she was left without a place to live. That’s a change, but it was not the one she wanted! Dragon energy is great for removing blocks, but only use it when you are determined to make a change.

Using Dragon energy when you fear change will backfire on you. Pick something in your life that you wish to unblock. Find an image of a dragon that you feel connected to. Decorate your altar using bright colors and shiny, sparkly accessories. Cast a circle. Invite Dragon energy to join you in the ritual. Discuss the situation thoroughly with Dragon; consider the options, and request Dragon’s help in a way that will harm none. Ground and close the circle. You should feel energized at the end of the ritual. Dragon energy usually works quickly and in unexpected ways, so be aware of everything around you—as rapid change is on its way.

When you think about witches casting spell you probably see an image in your mind of black clad women stirring a steaming large black pot over a fire. Or maybe you think of a witch waving a wand and turning a prince into a frog, or vice versa. But that’s Disney magic. Real magic is often very subtle and hard to detect. So you have to be on the lookout for small changes after you cast a spell.

When you cast a spell you are directing energy that will create change like the ripples in a pond. The changes that are created often won’t be obvious or dramatic. But the spells that you cast will result in events unfolding to give you the opportunity to make huge changes in your life. You have to be paying attention and you have to seize the opportunities.

Often people who are new to Wicca will think that a spell they cast didn’t work because they won’t be looking for the signs that it did work. For example if you cast a spell to get a new job you probably will not get a call out of the blue from the company you have been dying to work for. But, you might find yourself talking to a stranger at a party or on the train who works at that company and can recommend you for a job to HR department. Or if you want to move up at your current company a job might open up that would be perfect for you.

If you cast a spell for more money a stack of money won’t just appear, and the winning lottery numbers probably won’t either. But you might find a unique opportunity for a part time income like teaching something that you love. Be ready for all the opportunities that spells will create for you.

Magic is done according to the lunar cycle. Spells that are done to increase things like love, prosperity, peace and so on should always be done during the full moon or the day just before the full moon. The fullness of the moon will attract abundance, so any spells done to attract good things during the full moon will put out an energy of abundance.

Spells that are done to take away anxiety, take away fear, or decrease stress should be done during the new moon or while the moon is waning. The energy of the moon during this cycle is focused on lessening so the energy of the moon will make the spell more effective. Spells done for spiritual awakening, learning, or divination should always be done only during the new moon.

If you’re not sure when you should do a particular spell ask yourself what the real purpose of the spell is. Clarify your intentions and then it should be clear what phase of the moon will help that spell be effective. You can keep track of the moon phases with a Farmer’s Almanac or just by checking online. If you have trouble keeping track of the Lunar Cycle you can make yourself a calendar and hang it on the wall so that you will always know when you should perform a certain spell.

Nepal: Ghanta Karna Day ~ A centuries-old festival called Ghanta Karna Day is celebrated annually around this time of August in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. The event celebrates the death of Ghanta Karna, a blood thirsty Hindu demon who haunts crossroads and is the sworn enemy of the God Vishnu.

 
August 10-12 – Puck Fair – A three-day festival held in the little village of Killorglin in County Kerry. On the evening of the first day, Gathering Day, a white puck (from the Gaelic poc, a male goat), his horns bedecked with ribbons and rosettes, is borne in triumph in a lorry to a platform in the square. The Foley family is charged with the task of caring for the goat, which includes feeding him cabbages. On the following day, Puck’s Fair Day, the decorated King presides over a great cattle, horse and sheep fair. On the final day, Scattering Day or Children’s Day, the goat-king is dethroned by a throng of excited children. Accompanied by pipers, he is processed through town and over the bridge, whereupon he is turned loose. Or, according to MacNeill, he is carried around on the shoulders of four men, while the shopkeepers contribute to his upkeep, then auctioned off.

 
This fair was once a Lammas Fair as indicated by a patent from 1613 that gives the proprietor the right “to hold a faire in Killorglin on Lammas Day and the day after.” When the calendar was changed in 1752, it included an exemption for fairs stating that they might continue to be held on the natural day of the year to which people were accustomed.

 
Although it is tempting to see the goat as evidence of an ancient pagan rite, MacNeill develops a convincing argument that it was a rather late development, perhaps first appearing in the 18th century, and influenced by English fair customs.

Mondays are a fantastic day to boost your psychic abilities and to tune in to your intuition and empathy. It also gives you the opportunity to work with a different lunar phase each and every Monday, which means in one month you could work four different types of moon magicks on Mondays. How’s that for adding to your repertoire? You are going to have mad skills in no time at all.

So light up those lunar scented candles and add a little mystique to your outfit by wearing an enchanting lunar color. Wear your sparkling silver jewelry and maybe add a pair of dangling silver earrings or a pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Create lunar potions and philters; make a dream catcher and give it as a gift to someone you love. Burn some sandalwood or jasmine-scented incense today to inspire the glamour and magick of the moon. Slice up a favorite variety of fruit that is in season for a snack or share it with your love and enjoy his or her lunar and romantic qualities. Brew up a cup of chamomile tea, enchant it with a little moon magick, and relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Most importantly, get outside tonight and watch the moon for a while. What phase is she in? What color was the moon as she rose? Why not start a journal and write down at what location the moon rises and sets for a few seasons? This is a great way to teach you to tune in and to become more aware of the moon and the influence that she pulls into our lives. Try calling on Selene for her magickal assistance, and call Thoth for wisdom and strength. Get to know the Norse Mani and the Latvian Meness. These gods of the moon have plenty to teach, and if you allow their influence to cycle through your life, you’ll receive many blessings. In the word Monday, we can see part of the word Moon. In the romance languages such as Italian or Spanish, this day of the week is called Lunes and clearly relates to the word lunar.On Mondays, a variety of magick may be worked. Because Monday centers on the energies of the Moon, things like psychism, dreams, feminine energy, health, success in spiritual pursuits, domestic matters, and things of family origin are especially important this day.

Mondays are best for love magick and anything concerning home or family, thus old saying, Mondays child is fair of face, which seems clearly to relate to the themes of love and health.

Angels of Monday are Gabriel, Arcan, Missabu, and Abuzaha. Arcan is known as the king of the angels of air and the “ruler” of Monday. Abuzaha (Abuzohar) serves Monday, and is very responsive to invocations and ritual magick. Missabu is a ministering angel of Arcan.

Check whether the moon is waning or waxing to determine what your spell will be. During waning moons, do spells to rid yourself of obstacles or for wisdom and protection. During waxing moons do magic for increase of any kind or to draw something into your life.
