Full Moon in Virgo
During the Full Moon in Virgo, we turn to the task of separating grain from the chaff, to bring the things in our lives to order. Virgo is the practical priestess—the healer—connected to archetype of the Virgin Goddess, Hestia, who teaches us the value of intentional solitude. Virgo medicine show us how to be discriminating and hone things down to their essentials. She is the solitary Witch in the forest who tends the herbs by the Moon. The one who knows that rituals of daily life are sacred, that the body is the temple, and that service in the spiritual practice. Now is the time to synthesize, refine, and make the things of our lives sound. To know just what medicine is required, to dispel illusion and see into the heart of the matter.
Hestia, help me sort the seeds. Help me know when it is time to harvest and when it is time to let something die on the vine. Show me the magic of a simple well-ordered life.

Three Sisters Chili (For Mabon)
3 cups (128 g) beans (pinto, kidney, navy, garbanzo, etc.) precooked or canned (drain and rinse)
Olive oil
1 red onion, sliced
2 clove garlic, chopped
1 cups celery, chopped
2 cups butternut or acron squash, cooked, cooled, and cubed
1 cup corn
1 cup tomato paste
2 teaspoons cumin
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon oregano
Place beans in a large Dutch oven. In a frying pan with olive oil, cook red onion, garlic, and celery until tender. Add to Dutch oven. Add squash, corn, and tomato paste. Stir in enough water to cover. Add seasonings and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, then cook uncovered for about 2 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally, and adding more water if needed to keep from sticking to bottom. This chili is even better the second day. For an authentic touch, serve corn bread or corn fritters.

Earth Magic Oracle Cards – Gaia Nurturing

I bought this oracle deck because it called to me as a way to bring Mother Earther or Gaia or any other name of names we know this wonderful planet we live on. Gaia gives us unconditional love no matter how much humans disrespect her in a mirid of ways.
This card Gaia – Nurturing from, the Earth Magic Oracle Cards by Steven D. Farmer, tells me Gaia loves us unconditionally no matter how much humans disrespect her through too many people to us overusing natural resources through too many ways to list here. So let’s go with some highlights, not enough open space left in the “first world counties” to grow enough food to feed their overpopulation, and in “third world countries” where there is drought caused by too many manmade structures built on other parts of Gaia that causes the natural order of rain, evaporation of moisture to bring much-needed rains to fracking to over-harvesting medicinal plants, fungus, insects, etc that grow in the rain forests and or places to throwing trash where ever they are at which causes wildlife to live unnaturally using things such as plastic to build nests or trying to feed a cigarette butt to their offspring. to places using the oceans, other small and/or large waterways to dump garbage collected for the overpopulated cities or people just throwing things overboard to thousands of other big and small ways we rape, pillage, overuse and disrespect our beautiful, all-loving Gaia.
Ask yourself this question and really think about an honest answer you give yourself and to the younger generations following us. What should we be teaching not just from books about how Gaia, the waterways (this includes any kind of pond, stream, river, sea, ocean, etc) and the air we and they breathe but also how we choose to be part of the solution in helping, honoring, and most of all living in harmony with her. Or are you going to be part of the problem of continuing to use up Gaia’s many resources she gives us freely as well as lovingly? Or are you somewhere in between these two positions?

Remember we are the key to changing so we can live in harmony once more with Gaia

All Signs
As I write this, it is the first day of the Tibetan New Year. (Yes, we had Jan. 1; then the Chinese New Year, and perhaps other new years I don’t know about?) But this Tibetan New Year makes me think of beginnings and endings. There is an old poem: “The end of all rising is falling. The end of all saving is spending. The end of all meeting is parting. The end of all living is dying.”. True dat. However, we are also blessed with a myriad of possibilities in this window of time that is given to us to do so many things! A wise teacher once said: “Do not take lightly small good deeds, believing they can hardly help, for drops of water one by one, in time can fill a giant pot.”
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Once again, mixed signals from the celestial heavens are coming your way. The Sun and Retrograde Mercury want you to hide and play things low-key and work alone or behind the scenes. Meanwhile your ruler fiery Mars is at the top of your chart arousing your ambition as never before! However: “Now hear this!” “Now hear this!” This week, fair Venus moves into your Money House of earnings, cash flow and movable possessions. It will stay there for the next four weeks attracting money to you! Yes! It will promote financial transactions; and it will encourage you to buy beautiful things for yourself and loved ones. Oh wow! Shop till you drop! (Keep your receipts – and the box.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This continues to be a popular time for you, especially because old friends are back in your world again. In addition, you’re keen to travel or make travel plans. This same energy will also encourage you to make waves in publishing, the media, legal matters or something to do with medicine and higher education. However, the truly delightful news is this week fair Venus, your ruler, moves into your sign to stay for the next four weeks. This is a lovely blessing! It automatically makes you charming and diplomatic with everyone. You will enjoy socializing with others – no question. It also means that the next four weeks are an excellent time for you to buy wardrobe items for yourself. Go crazy!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You are still high viz. and people still admire you more than usual! (Your bathroom mirror is covered in kisses.) Since this works in your favour, do what you can to advance your agenda. Make your pitch! Mercury Retrograde will allow you a second kick at the can, which means you might resurrect an idea that was once rejected before. Why not run it up the flagpole to see if anyone salutes? (Never hurts to try.) Disputes about shared property, money from the government, taxes, debt and anything you own jointly with someone else are still happening. However, this week, Venus changes signs and moves into a hidden part of your chart, which encourages secret love affairs. (And who loves an adoring peanut gallery more than you?)
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Despite delays and cancellations to travel plans, you still want to get outta Dodge, cuz you need a change of scenery. Do note that this particular Mercury Retrograde will help you finish papers, finish manuscripts and wrap up schoolwork or do research into the past. Meanwhile, fiery Mars is still opposite your sign, which can make you annoyed with others, especially those who are closest to you. Yes, this means that patience is your best ally. Meanwhile, this week, fair Venus changes signs and moves into your House of Friendship, which beautifully promotes your relations with others, especially creative, artistic types. “Did you bring the capes?”
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You are still focused on taxes, debt, bills, inheritances, wills and shared property. Be glad that Mercury Retrograde is helping you wrap up loose details in these areas. Mars continues to boost your energy, which helps you to work hard. (This is another thing for which you can be grateful. Gratitude is a wonderful thing.) This week, Venus changes signs and moves to the top of your chart, which creates favourable circumstances for your professional life and your relations with authority figures, including parents. It makes others want your input or advice about artistic matters like design, layout, office redecorating or PR. Romance with a boss might begin!
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
You still need more sleep. In addition, your focus on partners and close friends continues to be strong. Actually, this gives you a chance to more objectively see how you relate to others, which can be a learning experience for you. Meanwhile, fiery Mars continues to give you opportunities to party, enjoy sports events, be active with kids’ activities and explore vacations. All that fun stuff! However, this week Venus moves into a part of your chart that encourages travel for pleasure. This lovely influence will last for four weeks, so plan on escaping somewhere even if it’s for a long weekend. This same influence will encourage new romance with someone “different.”
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You’re still busting your buns to work hard and improve your health. (You’re on a self-improvement kick, which is great.) Don’t be discouraged if your progress is slow because motivation is everything. Of course, Mercury Retrograde continues to cause silly errors, delays and mistakes in your work. (Embarrassing.) Mars will continue to stir up activity on the home front with visiting guests, renovations, home repairs and residential moves. You can handle this. This week, Venus begins to influence your finances and your sex life for the next four weeks. Venus will attract money, gifts, goodies and favours from others! It will also make your most intimate relations affectionate, passionate and memorable! (Sigh.) The stuff of movies.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
This week continues to be play city for you! Grab every chance to vacation. Accept invitations to party. Enjoy sports events and fun activities with kids. Romance is tops on your menu and many might be involved with an old flame. You have lots of energy to tackle your day-to-day world with short trips, increased reading and writing plus conversations with everyone. Meanwhile, this week, fair Venus moves opposite your sign where it will stay for the next four weeks bringing a lovely glow to your closest relationships. Yay! You will be able to express your affection more easily. It also helps you to clear up misunderstandings.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Home and family continue to be your main focus. Are there relatives still camped on your doorstep? If you want them to leave- thrust a vacuum in their hands. Meanwhile, you want to cocoon at home as well. (“I’m hiding!”) Regardless of what’s happening at home, you are working hard to boost your income because you are spending a lot right now. Yes, the cash is flowing! Fortunately, this week, fair Venus moves into your House of Employment, promoting everything to do with your job and your health. Relations with coworkers will be mutually supportive and caring. In fact, a work-related romance might develop for some. (“Garth?” “Marie?”)
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Fiery Mars in your sign still boosts your energy, making you more of a fighter for your own rights than usual. Mars also makes you work hard to further your own interests and assert yourself. It’s a busy time with short trips, errands, appointments, conversations with others plus increased reading and writing. Unfortunately, Mercury Retrograde is creating delays and goofy mistakes! (Red-faced you.) The good news is fair Venus will boost romance and fun stuff for the next four weeks. Relations with children will improve. Enjoy vacations! Spend time playing games and having fun. Finally, there’s no need to pretend to be what you are not.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Your focus on money, cash flow and earnings continues. In part, this is because Mercury Retrograde is stirring up old stuff as well as creating delays. (Cheques in the mail are late, that sort of thing.) Of course, the good news is that Mercury Retrograde will help you clear up old financial business. It might even help you go back and buy something that you wanted once before but lost your chance. Fiery Mars is still hiding in your chart, possibly stirring up trouble. (This placement can give strength to someone who does not have your best interests at heart. Watch your back.) The good news is that the next four weeks are the perfect time for redecorating projects and entertaining at home. Ditto for real-estate exploration.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
The Sun and Retrograde Mercury continue to be in your sign. The Sun attracts good things to you but Mercury Retrograde creates transportation delays, goofy mistakes and attracts old events and people from the past back into your world. But the upshot of it all is you can easily finish old business now. Yes! Use this! Mars continues to make you active with friends, especially in physical sports or competitively. This week, fair Venus will start to improve all your relations with siblings, relatives and neighbours in a lovely way and this benefit will last for the next four weeks! Venus will help you see the beauty of your daily surroundings and also just how much love there is in your daily world. Gosh. Lucky you!

Black Pepper Essential Oil
Black pepper essential oil is energizing, grounding, and protective. Inhaling the scent awakens the mind and fills us with awareness of our own power and strength. If you need an extra dose of courage, take some deep breaths, open a bottle, and take a whiff. Feel the power of pepper filling your awareness and energy field, bolstering your confidence, and awakening your sense that – whatever it is – you can do it.
Psychic work can be enhance by the scent of black pepper. Inhale it while looking deeper into a situation to gain intuitive insight. It has a unique ability yo tether you to the physical realm while simultaneously stimulating your third eye and awakening your crystal clear inner knowing. And by bolstering physical energy, it can be useful for psychics and intuitives who tend to feel drained while utilizing their gifts. Create a charm for focus and confidence (helpful for things like job interviews and test taking) by tying a hematite into muslin with red yarn. Anoint it with essential oil of pepper, and keep it with you as needed. Refresh the essential oil with each use.

Goddess Knowledge – The Bird Goddess/Valkyrie
The Bird Goddess is one of the most ancient goddesses, both a living-giving creator and goddess of death and regeneration. The Valkyrie, a northern European goddess, is a representation of this goddess as death wielder, The bird guise of the Valkyrie is that of a raven, long associated with death and magic. The name Valkyrie means “chooser of the slain”; the face and form of the Valkyrie are the last thing a person sees before death, Valkyries are the psychopomps who lead the soul to the afterworld. For ancient people death was part of a cyclical process leading again to rebirth; black was a positive color, a symbol of fertility and abundance, The Valkyrie represents that part of us that is unafraid of dark places; she can lead into and through them. She reminds us that seeds germinate in the darkness, that sometimes we need darkness in order to grow.
