Daily Cosmic Calendar for December 17th

Organizational themes are a number one concern with the Moon continuing its monthly transit through Virgo. Eliminate non-essentials from cupboards, drawers and closets. Be the efficiency master in the residential and business realms. Out with clutter; in with order. Antique hunters and collectible aficionados are in their glory when the Moon illuminates this sixth sign of the zodiac – associated very strongly with valuable items from the past that have particular or unusual markings, engravings, signatures and historical meaning. Clean-up campaigns are also reinforced to make sure everything shines again with its original essence. When the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase arrives (energizing 26 degrees of Sagittarius and Virgo at 4:49PM PST), cut through obstacles on your mental and even spiritual path. Tap into your creative artistry or come from the heart with a primary partner shortly thereafter as a Moon-Venus flowing trine in earth signs provides a loving boost (6:30PM PST). Nevertheless, this Moon-Venus connection also begins a 5+ hour void cycle that lasts until 12:07AM PST on Sunday when the Moon enters affable, airy Libra. It is wise to simmer down emotionally during this void lunar twilight zone. Finish odd jobs and projects with finesse while waiting until the lunar orb enters Libra before launching new, bold initiatives.

Light a green candle for luck and prosperity.

Luck to me shall then abound
What I seek for shall then be found
In sea or sky or solid ground
Remember, like energies attract, think of positive times spent with this lost treasure

Your Daily Horoscopes for Friday, December 16th

It’s difficult to exercise caution today because optimistic Jupiter tempts us to take unnecessary risks when it forms an uneasy sesquisquare with energetic Mars. Nevertheless, we’re a bit skittish as Mars in critical Virgo motivates us to refine our plans rather than pursuing our goals. Meanwhile, the Moon’s visit to Virgo encourages us to limit our options. We may think that we’re playing it smart, but inaction only increases our frustration.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

If you have been thinking about purchasing something special for yourself, you might impulsively decide to buy it today. However, your standards are rigid now, so it’s necessary to convince yourself that your current acquisition is not frivolous. It’s better to spend your money on tools for work than on something you don’t really need. Ultimately, it’s wiser to conserve your resources, so don’t be afraid to buck the tide and say no.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

Although you want to put your life back in order, you probably can’t regain control over everything today. Your pragmatic common sense tells you to be cautious, but friends are encouraging you to make commitments without worrying about fulfilling them until later on. You might be able to improve your production pace by squeezing out a little more effort every day; however the possible negative impact on your life isn’t worth the tradeoff. Once you choose your priorities, establish clear boundaries so that everyone knows exactly what to expect.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

You may believe that staying in motion keeps you relatively safe, as if instant karma can’t hit you while you’re moving. Even if you are enthused about living in such a dynamic time, you can grow tired of having to always be on the run. You might notice today that you’re longing for more relaxing times. Fortunately, you have the power to make the choice to wean yourself from high-adrenaline situations so you are able to live a longer and happier life. Be proactive and start now.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

You might be tempted to jump into a project at work today if you have already created a detailed plan to ensure your success. You can manage your resources well, even if your friends pull you in several directions. It’s extremely difficult to pass by an opportunity that looks too good to ignore. However, following your instincts could lead to trouble if you wander too far off track. Avoid the disappointment that comes from overindulging your fantasies by buckling down and following your agenda, instead.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You may be able to visualize the finished results on a big project today, yet any attempts to take a shortcut could be met with swift retribution. It’s a smart strategy to move past the flush of excitement about a new career direction so you can get down to serious business now. Don’t dilly-dally; it’s time to build a solid foundation in order to reach your impressive goals.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You’re rejuvenated by the Moon’s return to practical Virgo and can now create a strategy for living defensively. Although green lights seem to appear at every intersection today, you are wise to tap the brakes and look each way before continuing on. Don’t be distracted by good news; even if your future is looking fantastic, stop to check your map before blindly driving forward.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Your extravagant behavior today may be an overreaction to hide your fears about what’s ahead. Fortunately, you could realize the extraordinary effect that your thoughts have on the future, leading you to choose fun and games over doom and gloom. Nevertheless, your attention is also required on matters of deeper concern, so don’t go off and bury your head in the sand. Balance optimism with realism for optimum results.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You may think that you would be better off training for the marathon of your life that you believe is just ahead. But you might also conclude that it’s a good idea to enjoy yourself while you can, for you don’t really know what’s around the next corner. While considering these opposite perspectives, remember that your point of view continues to change, too, so every decision needs to stand on its own merits.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Your optimistic outlook is encouraged by eager Mars’ aspect to your key planet Jupiter. Although you want more facts today, you might not have time to properly integrate them into your plan. However, you also want to establish new priorities to reduce the stress of having too much data. Instead of reaching out even further, limit your field of possibilities and take steps to utilize what you already know.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You may believe that you’re regaining your stability now, just as a wave of big ideas washes in to sweep you off your feet. Ironically, you’re optimistic about your future, even if the current circumstances feel unsettling. Be careful about what you believe, for you could be influenced by those who seek blind support for the party line. Instead of following the herd, think for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Although your future is looking better all the time, it’s wise to tread carefully since you could be building your strategy on incomplete data. Receiving praise from a powerful person is wonderful, but others may have their own reasons for giving you positive feedback now. Maintain a healthy attitude about your work, but don’t allow your strong desire for success to cast a rosy glow over reality. A practical approach will serve you much better than running from the truth.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your friend or co-worker may be overly critical of your actions today, but you might disregard other people’s negative comments because you think they’re being unrealistic or judgmental. Instead of learning from constructive feedback, you’re tempted to discredit anyone who doesn’t support your efforts. Keep in mind that your apparent adversaries could be much more helpful than you realize, so listen to the advice you receive and use it to make your position even stronger.

Weekend Lunar Love Horoscopes for December 16th – 18th

Weekend Love: Lunar Love

by Jeff Jawer

Work in Progress

December 16 – 18

Love and pleasure are available for those willing to work extra hard this weekend. The practical Virgo Moon favors productivity and pragmatism, leaving romantic fantasies behind and seeking more grounded ways to connect. Collaborating on a project is one way to have fun while taking care of business. Helping a friend or contributing time and energy to a cause in which you believe can be excellent alternative methods for meeting someone special.

Happily, there is a sweet trend on Saturday night when the earthy Virgo Moon aligns favorably with lovely Venus. You don’t need to spend a lot of money or do anything elaborate to tap into the simple pleasures available all around you.

The Moon’s move into the partnership sign Libra on Sunday morning turns the wheel in another direction. Normally, this shift should invite delight and harmonious partnerships but, alas, this may not be the case now. The Moon’s challenging square with manipulative Pluto could undermine trust and bring up old fears from the past. However, this relatively quick moving transit is trumped by a more challenging one: Venus’ square with severe Saturn. You might feel temporarily isolated and unloved, yet the point is not to suffer in silence but to face facts and stoically work harder to earn the affection you want.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for December 16th

From last night’s Moon-Jupiter trine from Virgo to Taurus to this morning’s Moon-Pluto trine from Virgo to Capricorn (7:56AM PST), there is a grand triangle hovering in the sky and offering you success and achievements in the business and professional realms. However, Mercury is only now beginning to gain much in the way of daily speed and three potential drawbacks occurs as Mars makes a frictional, 135-degree connection to Jupiter (8:02AM PST) while Vesta makes a rare union with Neptune in Aquarius (8:18AM PST) and the Moon unites with Mars in Virgo toward the end of the day (11:35PM PST). Trying to push your own agenda too far too fast can backfire. The Vesta-Neptune rapport suggests that by using your creative imagination and psychic sensitivity golden opportunities for forward progress can be made on the investment front. However, dashing ahead without a coherent game-plan or letting impatience take control won’t bring you deserved rewards. It is also wise to stop worrying about a wide variety of problems. Under Virgo Moon, this worry factor can doom almost any otherwise sensible enterprise. While you are wiping out worry, make sure you also eliminate criticism of self or others. This shadow side of the Virgo realm is another area of life that acts as a destroyer for our daily hopes. Reflection and contemplation during this lunar dispensation can remind you of the simple joys that make life worth living.

Get in Tune With the Moon

Get in Tune With the Moon

Author: Jess

The modern age has led us to believe that we are better than nature. We have calendars that help us count the days and clocks to tell time for us. There is just one problem with that: it’s incorrect. How is it that our months have different numbers of days? Or that we have to adjust our calendar every four years to make up for our current systems inadequacies?

These are simple issues that all lead back to our ancestors and how their primeval ways were sometimes more advanced than our own. Humans of the past followed the moon’s cycle, a simple and natural way to connect with our planet and its time.

Following the moon’s cycle can help people to better understand their own internal clocks, especially women. There is a reason that the female body has a twenty-eight day cycle, and that females have such a passionate range of emotions.

The moon has much more power over us than a lot of people seem to believe. But we Pagans have a leg up on most people in that department. We acknowledge the moon and its stages along with the Goddess. So how much do we really connect with our beliefs in that regard? The moon helps women’s bodies change, sways our emotions, and even allows us to experience more enlightenment when the time is right.

No one can argue against the moon’s connection with women’s bodies. We wax and wane along with this bright beacon in the night’s sky. At our fullest we are fertile and I have met many a man who finds women more attractive during this time. It’s only natural.

Unfortunately, nowadays many women take oral contraceptives. And with good reason, of course. The world is overpopulated, and having a child is a big responsibility. But by masking our natural connection with the moon, women hinder the bonds with the Mother Goddess. That makes it harder to feel at peace with oneself.

My husband and I learned this when I stopped taking birth control pills to conceive our first child. Since then I have been much more in tune with my body, nature, and the Gods. After my daughter was born, I did the natural thing and breastfed her. While doing so I did not have my cycle. Its nature’s way of allowing your current baby the nourishment and care it needs.
Now that my daughter is a toddler and weaned, I do not wish to get back on any form of hormonal birth control. Since I have been off of the pill I have had less mood swings, and am much more in tune with my body. And there are so many other options of non-hormonal birth control.

Our hormones drive us to do what is natural, especially women. So when healthy women are taking unnatural doses of these chemicals to keep from getting pregnant, they alter their natural behaviors. This is not to say that I am against birth control in any way, but I have found that there are so many options out there that hormonal options are not always best.

Now that I am no longer on the pill I feel more connected to my body, and have found that following the moon’s cycle prepares me for what is coming next. I am more aware of when my mood may be more sensitive than others. And my husband is thankful that he can follow the moon in order to better understand how I may be feeling.

Next, there is no doubt that people have more energy when the moon is waxing, and that surge of energy is often able to contribute to success as opposed to the new moon stage, when a lot of people often feel drained or downtrodden.

I call this nature’s way of forcing us to slow down and take it easy. But many people fight these feelings in our fast paced society, creating adverse effects like depression or anger issues. A lot of us experience pressure to do better in the workplace or at school. But you cannot do more when you are feeling like less of a person.

Then there is the last and most intriguing of the moon’s direct effect on people. When we adhere to the moon’s cycle, it is possible to reach higher heights. Certain meditations are best done at specific days and times that coincide with the moon’s stage that best suits the practice.
This is where the gods come in. Being that the moon represents the Goddess and the sun represents the God, these spiritual high times are when the presence of the gods can be felt at a stronger and more intimate level. Nature is our direct link to the gods.

And nature’s clock is the sun and the moon; there is no sleep button, no loud buzzing alarm to set. Taking the time to listen to the moon and perform rituals and spells accordingly will help your practices be more effective. This is also more helpful in finding enlightenment or even simple piece of mind.

The full moon has always been the greatest time to have an out of body experience for myself. And when mastered, a knowledgeable spirit can glance into the Summerlands. There is so much more to life than what the technological world offers. Sure technology is great if used as just another tool, but the natural world is much more substantial.

Connecting with nature and understanding the moon helps people to live better lives. It allows us to be more conscious of the world around us and inside of us, just as following the sun helps people to draw on the elements. And by following the different stages of the moon, humans can better understand each other.

Men can better understand why women may be a bit more emotional during certain times and to be more understanding when emotions run a bit hot. Whereas women can be more in tune with their bodies, their emotions, and we can all experience more enlightenment. Following the moon’s cycle helps people to have a better grasp on the world around them. You don’t need a computer to tell you that.

Doing The Work: Building a Spiritual Practice

Doing The Work: Building a Spiritual Practice

Author: Faye Dewell

What defines a Pagan? Is it just the belief in the old Gods and Goddesses? Is it doing Ritual work? Do you even have to believe in Magic to be a Pagan? At this point in time, it often seems like anything goes. And while I agree with the general premise that we should be careful about how we limit who and what we define as Pagan, because it can have detrimental effects on our community, I also believe that we need to have a clear look at what we define as being a practicing Pagan versus holding Pagan beliefs. Because I think there is a difference.

While there is no such thing as being “Pagan enough” there is something to be said in terms of qualifying our practice in regards to Sunday or Holiday Paganism (to borrow a Christian term) or Armchair Paganism (to take from Pop Culture) . There’s nothing wrong with being an Armchair Pagan if that’s what you want from this path. And if you only want to sign up for public rituals, so be it. I’m not here to judge those choices.

However, the fact of the matter is, whether you’re a 101 or 1001 Pagan, if you’re still stuck in your armchair, you’re not going to get as much from your craft as you could be. And that’s a choice you have to make for yourself: What do you want from your spirituality? Is Paganism even about spirituality for you? Or is Paganism a set of beliefs that help you understand the world, but nothing more?

We bandy about terms like Priest and Priestess, identifying Pagan practitioners (often, not always) as being Priesthood holders. But what does it mean to be the person responsible for your own faith, your own spiritual path?

Well, in a very literal sense, I suppose it could mean whatever you want it to mean. It could simply mean holding a certain set of beliefs. For example, it could mean believing in Lugh, Brighid and Tuatha de Danann without actually doing any more than praying to the Deities within that pantheon. Is that Pagan enough? For some it might be and I’m not in a position to judge that as being wrong. If it works for you and defines the space spirituality takes in your life, all the more power to you. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that if that’s what you are looking for from your Paganism.

However, I would argue that there is a great difference between holding Pagan beliefs and carving out a Pagan lifestyle. Wherever we are on our path, and however we define the nature of our path, I think it’s important that we make the effort to understand what our pathwork entails and then hold ourselves up to that level of commitment. And even within the ways we carve out our Paganism, there may be vast differences that can lead to arguments between members of the community in terms of what is “right” and “wrong.” I’m not here to look at that. I’m here to think about what it means to you (and me) to do the work if the work itself is something that interests you. For me, that means making an effort to actually claim my path, do the work, develop a practice, and make it mine, which is very different than Sunday (or Ritual) Paganism.

After all, how in Hades are we ever going to be any good at things like magic if we don’t take the time to hone our skills? Or have a relationship with the Divine if we don’t take the time to get to know them? How will we know ourselves enough to live a life of spiritual intention if we don’t spend time getting to know ourselves and contemplating what our spiritual intentions are?

Seriously.

I’m not asking the question to be rude or confrontational. Because honestly, these are questions that I ask myself on a regular basis, every time I fall off the wagon and let every day mundane (muggle) life draw me away from my practice. And it’s harsh but honest, and it keeps me in check. These questions keep me doing the stuff and developing the path that I am committed to following.

Every week I create new prompts for a 52 weeks of Pagan Art Journaling project I’m hosting, and in this week’s art journal prompt, I asked: what do you want people to know about your path? And my answer was this: that it requires serious levels of commitment and self-discipline. It requires that I do the work. Often without support systems, often at odds with the materialism in the world around me, often despite my own personal laziness and apathy. Because more often than not, I am my own worst enemy and as a member of a “fringe” religion, I don’t have the benefit of mainstream culture keeping me accountable or reinforcing the value system I’ve “created” for myself. (Which sounds like a lot of big pompous words to just say that sometimes this path is a bit more challenging because it isn’t necessarily aligned with what the world around us is doing and how our society is encouraging us to live) .

But more importantly, a Mystery Tradition, by its very nature requires a great deal of inner work in order to understand it. No one expects a yogi to reach enlightenment without yoga and meditation. So why do so many modern Pagans expect to being able to do magic and understand the Divine without doing the “Pagan variation” of the same things? Exercise and contemplation (or rather, if you will, practice and meditation) . If we can’t discipline our minds enough to focus our will on the intent of a spell, how will we actually create strong and effective spell work?

And more importantly, beyond the magic, how do we complete the “Great Work” of our Mystery Traditions if we don’t understand what the hell that means?

Don’t just take my word for it. Pick an area and focus on it, work it. Get to know the feel and shape of it. Study it like you’d study a university subject. Be dedicated to learning your craft on a daily basis (or at least somewhat regular basis) , be it doing the Sabbats and Moons, or meditating daily, or taking time to observe the lunar cycles. Start small and build up. Don’t try to do it all at once because that’s a recipe for failure. But pick one thing, get that down, and then add another.

At this point in my practice (in loose, ambiguous terms that you can read between the lines of) , this is what my daily practice includes:

Meditation
Exercises
Dream keeping
Study
Weekly Classes
Journaling (art and written) reactions, thoughts, questions, emotions, etc
Tarot Work

On average, I spend at least 30 minutes a day devoted to my practice, if not double or triple that. If you’d asked me at the start of this work if I’d be capable of that, I would have emphatically denied my ability to be that self-disciplined. I am not good at self-discipline and never have been. But I started slowly. I have a buddy system. I am accountable to others when I fall off the wagon. And all of these things are things that help me stay focused. And it’s been worth it. Because trust me, if you don’t know it already, this path is amazing in terms of what it can bring into your life.

My practice has turned my world upside down and inside out, but the things that I have learned about people and myself have been phenomenal. I returned to this path after years in academia feeling jaded and wanting to believe but having a hard time reconnecting. Now I don’t just believe. I know again.

And knowing is half the battle!

The Umbra of Earth
Image Credit & Copyright: Wang, Letian

Explanation: The dark, inner shadow of planet Earth is called the umbra. Shaped like a cone extending into space, it has a circular cross section most easily seen during a lunar eclipse. For example, last Saturday the Full Moon slid across the southern half of Earth’s umbral shadow, entertaining moonwatchers around much of the planet. In the total phase of the eclipse, the Moon was completely within the umbra for 51 minutes. Recorded from Beijing, China, this composite eclipse image uses successive pictures from totality (center) and partial phases to trace out a large part of the umbra’s curved edge. Background stars are visible in the darker eclipse phases. The result shows the relative size of the shadow’s cross section at the distance of the Moon, as well as the Moon’s path through Earth’s umbra.

Daily Horoscopes for Thursday, December 15th

We are likely to act on our feelings today because the proud Leo Moon is more outgoing as she harmoniously trines the inspirational Sagittarius Sun. However, emotions may confuse us when the Moon opposes foggy Neptune prior to shifting into clear-thinking Virgo at 10:58 pm EST. Normally the Virgo Moon focuses our perceptions, but a late night trine to expansive Jupiter encourages us to wax philosophic, even if we should be practical instead.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

The bold Leo Moon’s presence in your 5th House of Love and Creativity empowers you to make time for an artistic project or to pursue a romantic interest. Either way, you’re eager to express what’s in your heart today. However, your plan may run into problems if you don’t clearly define what you want. If you are specific when describing your needs now, your chances for fulfillment are much better.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

A complicated relationship may turn sour for a short while today, but this is no cause for worry because things will probably improve pretty quickly. You might feel as if you are trying to adjust to the current instability of a partnership, but your anxiety won’t go away until you gain more security. It’s difficult to know how much to talk about and how much you should keep to yourself. Begin slowly; you can always take the conversation to the next level later on.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

Even if you are normally easygoing, you’re more irritated today if others don’t realize that you are taking on more responsibilities. Although you wish that you could leave work early, you may need to pitch in to cover for someone’s lack of productivity. But don’t blame anyone else; just keep doing what makes the most sense for the good of everyone involved. Set aside your personal preferences now to demonstrate your willingness to be a team player.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

You may feel good about what’s happening at work today, but you still must deal with a personal financial issue or you won’t be able to relax. Others might not be too sympathetic to your current plight at first because they only see your positive side and the productive results of your efforts. Nevertheless, it isn’t helpful to cover up your fiscal concerns. Sharing your worries can deepen a relationship, but you still must take care of the practical issues on your own.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You’re able to charm your way through an awkward situation today, provided that you don’t act as if everything is all about you. Although it may be challenging to widen your perspective to include other people’s points of view, you still must try if you want to be successful now. Your chances of overcoming adversity increase if you are also sensitive to the needs of those closest to you.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You may feel as if you’re at the end of your rope now, but you’re not ready to let go yet. Nevertheless, you might be required to eliminate an outmoded emotional habit to alleviate your stress today. You could believe that making a few minor adjustments will allow you to move on, but more drastic measures will probably be necessary. Don’t wait; address the big picture while you still have time.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You may be thrilled with the possibility of negotiating a manageable truce in your life as you stand between opposing factions. This could be as simple as settling a family argument or as complex as working out the details to an international treaty. Either way, it becomes more apparent as you get further into the process that establishing common ground isn’t all that easy today. Don’t get too discouraged now if it takes longer than you expect to broker a solution.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Your workmates may be pressuring you to participate in a group activity today, but you don’t want to be distracted from taking care of unfinished personal business. Fortunately, you’re able to maintain the status quo, even if you must speak a few harsh words to make yourself clear. Thankfully, others should back off enough to give you the room you need once you express what’s on your mind.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You are pretty clear about what you want to do next, but you may also need to acknowledge the possibility that you’re overstepping your limits or someone else’s boundaries today. Overextending yourself isn’t helpful on your quest; you won’t reach your goals any faster. It’s smarter to demonstrate a bit of self-restraint now, rather than waiting for reality to stop you in your tracks.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You can grow anxious when someone’s expecting you to put on a show. Whether you’re supposed to give a professional presentation or just casually entertain at a party, you’re not that interested in being in the public spotlight now. However, hiding in the shadows isn’t in your best interest today. Change your attitude and stay open to any recognition that you receive, because a little fame can bring good fortune down the road.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

It may appear that others are encouraging you now, but as you start to put your plan into motion, they might decide to not show up. This is tricky territory because you can’t just go chasing after the approval you want today, for the more you pursue it, the faster it recedes. Remember that the urgency is only within your mind; you have more time than you think.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may be getting tired of showing up with a smile at work and still being told that you’re the negative one. You believe that others might be projecting their fears onto you and you don’t want to take it any longer. But it doesn’t matter who is in the right; everyone involved needs to step back from the current situation to get some breathing room. Let the dust settle for a couple of days before jumping back into the fray.

Cosmic Calendar for December 15th

Last night’s Mars-Saturn contra-parallel has some staying power and can give you the creeps, so-to-speak. Any time the two traditional malefic planets combine their influence, the urge to be rash and to control may form a diabolical configuration. However, coming to a partial rescue is a Moon-Jupiter parallel (1:07AM PST). Similar to a zodiacal union between the lunar orb and the largest planet, this Moon-Jupiter rapport gives you feelings of self-confidence and enthusiasm. Adding to the morning upbeat vibrations is a Sun-Moon trine in fire signs as the two lights form their 120-degree connection from Sagittarius to Leo at 8:07AM PST. Unleash your creative skills in an unusual artistic medium or play a favorite musical instrument with flair. Watch out for rising volatility around the time of a Moon-Mars parallel (12:46PM PST). Later on, confusion may be engulfing a key partnership as the Moon in Leo makes its monthly opposition to Neptune in Aquarius (5:21PM PST). Haziness on your part won’t help the situation. Fortunately, this Moon-Neptune polarity – which starts a void lunar cycle lasting until 8:00PM PST – won’t remain influential for more than a couple of hours. By the time the Moon enters industrious and meticulous Virgo at 8:00PM PST, you can now focus attention on the small details in life that either sustain your prodigious efforts or send you off on wild-goose chases for answers to subtle problems. Stock up on cereals, grains, tea, herbs, vitamins, supplements, nuts, seeds and seasonings as the Moon in Virgo trines Jupiter in Taurus (8:56PM PST). Literary and educational pursuits are reinforced. Be prepared for some new cosmic shenanigans on Friday as Mars locks horns with Jupiter while Vesta finds comfort in Neptune’s embrace.

I understand that in writing this article, I might (more than likely) get some uproar about it. I’m willing to spout off what I am thinking and am willing to accept the consequences. I’m going to go ahead and start off scientifically (in the very loose definition of the word) instead of magickally. Even in magick, science has its place.

The color black is the absorption of all colors. The color white is the absence of all colors. If you hold a crystal to the sun, the rays of the sun will fracture and bounce off the crystal creating a rainbow prism. If you hold a piece of coal to the rays of the sun, no color will bounce off yet the coal will get very warm.

During the day, when the sun is beating down its warm rays upon the earth, we can sometimes see for miles around us. (Depending on where we are.) Nothing is hidden and all in plain sight. Yet, when the sun sets, a chill dampens the air and the light gets snuffed out. Everything is hidden in shadows and darkness. Everything that was there during the day remains the same at night, but light has been taken away so we cannot see. Our perception has in this case, decreased.

Beneath our skin we find blood, muscles, tissues, organs and bones to make up our bodies. We don’t see these on a daily basis, but we know that they are there. We see that with a cut, a scrape of the knee, with a break with in a bone. But, there are other things that we also don’t see; like atoms and protons, cancerous cells, diseases, sickness and so forth.

More often than naught, what we can’t see, we fear, and what we fear, we tend to hide from. Why hide from the dark when it is a major part of us?

I will admit that until I started on this path when I was 19 years old, I had been afraid of the dark. I didn’t understand why nor did I care until my eyes were open to it. Before I opened my eyes, I thought things where going to come out of that dark and attack me. I had no idea how much that darkness could be an ally. And how much fun it could be. Once I embraced the darkness, I found myself (on so many levels) .

We also, as a culture, have categorized depression as a negative, as the ‘bad’ along with debt, loneliness, aches and pains and even death. We have dubbed bubbly happy energies such as wealth, good health and love as good. Of course this is true for the most part, but we need to acknowledge both in order to prosper. How can we grow if we do not accept our faults, our bad habits, and our bad moods? I don’t care who you are, but no one is happy all the time. And I don’t care who you are, but no one is perfect either. It’s impossible. What would be the point of this life if it where so? We need the Ying to our Yang to balance ourselves out. It’s the laws of nature. It’s within our genetic make up. It’s our trial and error.

There are people who we run into on a daily basis who throw us off, who rub us the wrong way… but are they “evil”? Not necessarily. If at all. I could give countless examples here, but for the sake of the article, I’ll leave this to that single point.

Now magickally:

Since white repels all colors and black absorbs them, how do we know we don’t have every thing backwards? I’m not saying that demons are really the good guys and angels are the bad, but it makes me pause to wonder. What if, for centuries, we have been wrong?

It’s been proven that the Bible has been rewritten numerous times to suit that current authors’ needs. And we, as pagans, know that most of our deities have been demonized throughout history by others who don’t understand them. What my point is, who is to say what’s the truth and what isn’t? History’s authors may have deceived us all. Please note that I said, “may”.

Typically in general culture, we view the good or the light as the angels, as the playful faeries or as the source of all things. We view the bad, dark, evil as demons, devils, trolls, goblins and other nasties that go bump in the night.

Are we right?

I have to question it myself through my own personal experiences. I’ve worked with less than so-called “light” entities before and have had a great many POSITIVE responses from them. Never have any of these beings asked for something absurd from me in return for their services. I’ve never been demanded a living sacrifice (for the Gods honor life) and never been asked to harm myself or someone else. And in company, I’ve never gotten anything “testy”. I’ve opened the door numerous times to the other side and nothing strange ever happened.

I’ve never experienced a nasty entity in the “real” world and often wonder why. Is it my perception on them? Is my psychic shield that powerful to the point where they can’t get within ten feet of me? Do I try to work with something that a lot of people shy away from and therefore they respect me because I give them that chance?

No. I don’t think so.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve had plenty of bad stuff happen to me throughout my life and expect more to come. But, who is to say if it comes from the good guys, the bad or if it was even predestined before my birth?

And to be honest, completely, brutally honest with yourself… If some kind of harm ever befell your friends or family that you loved, would you really send them love (the perpetrator) in return? Would you really just sit back and say, ‘it was meant for a reason so let it be’? I think not. You would do every thing in your power, physically, mentally, spiritually to prevent that person from harming another soul again. (Physically–within the law, of course.)

For quite a few years, I worked with this specific entity (that shall remain nameless) and the breed of it. It helped me out of some dark holes in my life and I can attest to it even saving my physical life once. (I will swear to this until my dying breath!) So, how can an entity that had been dubbed by the masses as “negative” be so bad?

*I also wanted to note here, I’m not some fanatic, and I know the difference between the waking world and the astral world where these beings reside. I know they can cross over planes from time to time as energy forms, and it isn’t at all like how they portray them in Hollywood. But, I’m not naive enough to say they don’t exist either. *

I have a friend who once told me, and a very valid point it is, that in the Biblical sense, Angels are the ones that are threatened by mankind. And yes, Demons want power, but they aren’t after revenge as the Angels are. They aren’t here to take over the world, as we know it. There is a movie out there that recently been out of the big screen portraying just this idea. Legion
Another friend of mine recently gave her impression of what I’m trying to get across: “There are many different energies in the world. Some are known as “evil” and some are known as “good.” But I don’t think it’s really a question of whether THEY are the evil or good; instead I think that they might reflect the energy we give into them. For example, there may be an entity that is perceived as evil (name any so called evil spirit or demon) , yet if you were to ask their cooperation and/or assistance with good intentions, or at least with fair intentions and respect, I think you are likely to find them cooperative and perhaps even helpful.

Of course, I do not mean to say that this will always be the case. I am sure that there are some entities out there that are better left untouched, because you certainly don’t know what the consequences will be and it might be more than you are expecting or willing to give…but in general, I think so called “demons” are capable of good deeds and cooperation, just as “angels” are capable of negative energy, mischief and general non cooperation – after all, I would think that the “fallen” angels are demonstrative of this.”

As she stated, if we “feed” a certain type of entity a certain form of feeling or thought, then that entity will more than likely take that to heart, because that’s the only type of energy it is getting. In a sense, it’s sort of like a ‘Tulpa’. A Tulpa is a form of energy that takes on a mass of energy from one person or many and acts in accordance to its creator. For example (possibly a bad one) : the Christian/Catholic God. (He just may be a real entity. I for one don’t know either way and I could care less at this point.)

I am not stupid enough to say that this applies to all things that have been dubbed negative. Or even to say that the dubbed masses of good should be questioned here either. There are some things that even I am wary of working with. Both good and bad. What I’m just trying to say here is to use your own intuition on what you work with. Even if this article has opened one person’s mind to the possibilities of working with different types of energies (other than just lovey-dovey good) , that’s good enough for me.

Use your head. Use your intuition. Try working with an entity that you have never considered working with before with no fear in your heart and you just might be pleasantly surprised. Just as you can’t judge a person until you’ve met them, so can’t you judge an entity before you work with them. (Unless the source you hear it from is a good and trusting one!)

How are we really to know what entity is “good” and what entity is “bad”? I for one am not going to judge ‘just because’. Will you?

Your Daily Horoscopes for December 14th

Today’s lively Leo Moon provokes us to do whatever we feel is necessary to be seen and heard. We don’t want to sit idly on the sidelines; we prefer to be in the game where the action is. We’re not afraid to start a new project and express our creativity with enthusiasm, since there are planets in each of the three Fire signs. Additionally, sharing our opinions is easier now that talkative Mercury is moving direct in philosophical Sagittarius.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You aren’t in the mood for anyone to tell you what to do today, but your rebellious attitude can create problems if you just do the opposite of whatever you are told. Doing things your way may seem like the best course of action, but your efforts won’t lead to a positive outcome now unless you also take time to listen to others. Don’t lose track of your long-term goals, but remember to soften your stance so you don’t alienate your allies.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

At times you are stubborn for no apparent reason, yet you might have a real justification for maintaining the status quo today. Unfortunately, you may find it challenging to explain your motives to others because you’re so confident now that you could become overly defensive. Although you’re not likely to change your mind, demonstrating a bit of flexibility in your thinking can help you to get what you want.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

Your need to interact with others could run into unexpected problems today because everyone seems to have his or her own agenda. Fortunately, you can positively impact the flow of events anyway by concentrating on long-term goals instead of bothersome short-term frustrations. A simple change of perspective alleviates pressures that might otherwise evoke conflict. Tempering a possible extreme reaction improves your chances for success.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

Co-workers could come on so strong that you feel like retreating to insulate yourself from them. You don’t want to be goaded into making a choice before you’re ready to decide for yourself, so you’re tempted to withdraw without fully revealing your feelings. However, your fears can exacerbate a tricky situation. Instead of seeking solitude today, it might be wiser to admit your sensitivity and ask your associates to hold off with their judgments until you’ve had enough time to make up your mind.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You may respond to someone’s invitation without even thinking now that the reactive Moon is back in your sign. Unfortunately, you might discover that you agreed to more than you intended. If you don’t consider what happens next, you could be unhappily surprised that your optimism steered you toward a wrong conclusion. On the other hand, you don’t have to be overly cautious if you just remember to temper your natural exuberance with a bit of common sense.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Hiding your feelings isn’t the best approach to managing a strong emotional interaction today. You are more transparent than you think, and others probably won’t trust you if they see that you aren’t being honest with them. Don’t wait until your frustration reaches a critical level before saying what’s on your mind. Avoiding an argument is easy now if you remember to share your reactions calmly before they grow out of control.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Your need to please others can lead to fun today as long as you aren’t acting for a selfish reason. But if you’re only considering what’s advantageous for you, your expectations may get in the way of a wonderful experience. Ultimately, you might be struggling with control issues now, so try letting go of your attachment to any desired outcome. If you are simply responsive without promoting your agenda, you may end up with more than you thought possible.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You might believe that you have to stand strong today, but your worries about being judged harshly could prompt you to overstate your perspective. You may even be so rigid in your presentation that others pull away from you because they think there’s not enough room in your position for negotiation. Fortunately, you can soften your message without weakening your conviction. Keep in mind that someone’s alternative point of view doesn’t necessarily threaten yours.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Your optimism has returned now that Mercury is moving direct in your sign, and you may not have the patience to listen to anyone else’s negativity about your plans. If someone is dissatisfied with your agenda today, you could be tempted to just take off and do your own thing. Nevertheless, it’s not wise to react so quickly if it means that you are excluding others. Take a few deep breaths and give them time to come around because it will be more fun to play in a group.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

It might seem as if someone is exerting unnecessary influence over you today and it doesn’t feel right. Instead of avoiding a confrontation by retreating, you’re annoyed enough to face it head-on — especially if you know that you are right. However, you could inadvertently create a situation where being a winner makes someone else a loser. Rather than sinking into unnecessary competition now, change the framework into a cooperative one where everyone comes out ahead.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You like it when someone is clear about his or her needs, but you’re not as supportive if a friend or co-worker is acting selfishly today. You may try to maintain your positive attitude, but you might respond with forceful words if someone pushes you too hard. It’s your decision; you don’t have to encourage conflict. You have the power to deflect aggression by quietly holding on to your position and waiting things out.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may feel the need to put on a show at work today because you want to be noticed for your contributions. But instead of drawing attention to yourself, just go about your business because completing your chores and fulfilling your obligations will garner more support than empty shenanigans. In the long run doing your job well brings you more recognition than shining a spotlight on yourself.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for December 14th

The admonition about Mercury – mentioned in yesterday’s calendar entry – is an important one. New students in astrology or those people who only have a smattering of knowledge of how astrology really works seem to believe that signing key documents, dealing with crucial legal papers and making agreements suddenly becomes simple and easy once Mercury is no longer in reverse – as though it was Mercury’s reversal that was the main impediment to success. The reality is that whether Mercury is forward or backward, all major transits and progressions need to be examined – relative to a person’s complete horoscope – if giant decisions are to come out favorably. Mercury does have much to do with signing a piece of paper, but all the celestial bodies are influential, too, and any or several of them can be detrimental to a significant cause, plan or goal in the works. The best alignment going on during this 24-hour time-period is a Sun-Venus parallel (3:27PM PST). Love vibrations increase in wavelength and social activities look promising. A reminder about parallels as well as contra-parallels is that they are calculated by watching cosmic bodies move north and south of the Celestial Equator. The zodiacal aspects usually reported on occur by noting the main aspects of celestial bodies relative to the Ecliptic – the Sun’s apparent path in the sky, based on our view from the Earth. Later today, Mars forms a tense contra-parallel with Saturn (10:27PM PST). The bright and comforting energy-field ushered in seven hours earlier by the Sun and Venus becomes extinguished as Mars and Saturn act as rowdy mischief-makers. Keep your wits about you overnight and avoid major decision-making to the best of your ability.

Your Horoscopes for Monday, December 12th

We still might find it easier to keep our feelings to ourselves, even though the emotional Cancer Moon intensifies our reactions. Although we may not say much, our moods continue changing throughout the day, and each shift helps to add new perspectives to our current situation. The Moon’s harmonious sextile to physical Mars enables us to initiate action, even if we choose to remain silent on this last day of messenger Mercury’s retrograde phase.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

It may not be easy to return to work today because the self-protective Cancer Moon encourages you to hide behind an impenetrable wall. You could be worried about a personal matter that pulls some of your attention away from your work. You might even need extra time to take care of family responsibilities, so it’s crucial to find ways to increase your efficiency on the job. Completing tasks quicker enables you to gracefully balance your private and public obligations.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

It’s difficult to stay within your limits today because indulgent Jupiter convinces you that anything is possible. However, your excessive behavior won’t likely be apparent to others as the introverted Cancer Moon visits your 3rd House of Communication. Although your judgment is cloudy now, you’re likely to err on the side of generosity rather than stinginess. Even if your day doesn’t unfold as expected, maintaining a flexible attitude helps to smooth over the rough spots.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

Your gut instincts could get in your way of having a good time today, but it isn’t a healthy strategy to ignore your feelings for the sake of convenience. If you do, you may become disconnected from your closest friends and co-workers. Sharing your emotions may be awkward at first, but the simple act of communication could be enough to prevent loneliness now. Revealing your vulnerability takes courage, but it’s the key to deepening an important relationship.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

Expressing your feelings seems more natural today with the Moon camping out in your sign. It’s even easier if you are confident about your current course of action. However, others may still be hesitant now, making it difficult to know if they really support your ideas. It’s a mistake to take the feedback you receive too personally. Instead of worrying or complaining, get busy and make your plan so awesome that it can’t be ignored.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

It’s not time to reveal your feelings yet, for others may not be as trustworthy as they seem now. A co-worker might successfully play off your hopes and entice you to change your mind. Your best strategy today is practicing self-containment; keeping to yourself adds power to your dreams. Make time for your inner work and include others in your process only after you are ready.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

It’s challenging to stay on track now because your emotions could be at odds with what’s happening in your outer world. You may not be feeling very grounded today; your current strategy may fall apart if it’s not based upon real business cycles. Thankfully, cutting back on superfluous activities should help you to concentrate on the most important work at hand.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You may spend time today contacting a few key colleagues and asking them for their support. Unfortunately, it’s not likely that you will get them to commit to your plan, for everyone seems to have an agenda of his or her own. Instead of trying to herd cats, pare back your current aspirations. Simplifying your goals and limiting your conversations to one-on-one encounters increase your chances for success.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You may be thinking about an upcoming trip, but you’re not likely to share your plans yet. You could be afraid that others won’t understand your needs and you don’t want to waste time justifying your intentions. Additionally, it’s more useful to develop your ideas and take them to the next level before dissipating your enthusiasm by responding to any negative judgments. Once you have figured out your itinerary, then you’ll be able to talk about it with more confidence.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

This can be a fairly smooth day, especially if you have figured how to be more comfortable with feelings that may have been causing trouble recently. At first confronting fears that stem from an old relationship wound may seem too overwhelming to face today, but it becomes easier as the day wears on. Interactions with others can take on a life of their own today, yet practicing the art of compromise helps you keep it all together now.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You want more clarity in relationships now, but the security you crave may be nearly impossible to find if others aren’t playing by the same rules of the game. You may feel let down when someone doesn’t meet your high expectations for consistency or productivity. Getting your workmates to agree to your deadline today seems like a positive step, but this doesn’t mean they will actually deliver on their promises. Patience is necessary and a healthy sense of humor helps during these uncertain times.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You’re feeling out of your element today as illogical emotions swirl around, creating complex currents and subtle nuances that are hard to understand. A simple job might require more time to complete now because you won’t want to do things the tried-and-true way. If you can take the courage and enthusiasm you have about experimenting with new methods and use that positivity to jump into an emotional discussion, you may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Your best efforts may be thwarted now, but your willingness to let go of your original course of action can enable you to overcome the current obstacles. Paradoxically, you — and not the circumstances — create the limitations today. Unfortunately, working harder won’t necessarily bring success; instead, unwavering persistence and a positive attitude is your ticket to the top.

Your Love Horoscopes for the Week of December 12th

Messenger Mercury’s shift into forward gear on Tuesday should get conversations and communications moving more quickly. New connections that have been caught up in holding patterns may soon be ready for takeoff. Just plan your weekend carefully since efficiency is sexy with the Moon in practical Virgo on Friday and Saturday. The lunar shift into lovely Libra on Sunday morning creates a perfect atmosphere for hanging out with good friends or collaborating on a creative project that makes your heart sing.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Enthusiasm is a wonderful thing, Aries, but you could raise your expectations beyond reason this weekend. The efficient Virgo Moon is busy working in your 6th House of Service, which can tie you up with minor tasks on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday. Bold plans and extravagant promises are more likely to cause complications that result in disappointment. A more modest approach to your social life can lead to sweet little pleasures that warm your heart.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

Messages are mixed this weekend with the mood-setting Moon kicking back in your 5th House of Romance on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday, increasing your chances of receiving some love and affection. However, the Moon’s presence in analytical Virgo can provoke criticism that undermines confidence. Recognizing your flaws and striving for self-improvement is an admirable approach, but don’t allow minor matters to get in the way of your fun.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

Your chatty ruling planet Mercury turns direct in your 7th House of Partners on Tuesday night, enabling communications to flow more easily. Honesty is, of course, a wonderful policy as long as it’s mixed with kindness. But blunt statements from you or others can be hurtful, even if that’s not anyone’s intention. Considering your audience and choosing your words with care can help heal ongoing relationships or get a new one off to a healthy start.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

Explaining your feelings isn’t always easy, but could be an essential task this weekend. The logical Virgo Moon visits your 3rd House of Information on Thursday night and stays until Sunday morning, placing a premium on clear communications. If you can focus on one subject at a time, you should be able to untangle emotional knots and overcome misunderstandings. Being completely open about your interests with someone new can lay down a solid foundation that slowly builds the trust you need.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

When it comes to love you’re a gambler who likes to put your heart on the line. However, the Moon is in cautious Virgo and your 2nd House of Self-Worth from Thursday night to Sunday morning, which suggests that you are better off measuring your emotions and controlling how you express them this weekend. Repairing a wounded relationship takes time and attention; building a new one is also more likely to work best with patience that allows passion to grow slowly.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

The Moon drops into your analytical sign Thursday night and doesn’t leave until Sunday morning, amplifying emotional tension and casting you in the spotlight. Obviously, you would prefer to avoid the attention when you’re not performing at your best. However, you can learn something important now about how your behavior affects your relationships. Talking through complex issues with loved ones empowers you to make more intelligent decisions about your personal life.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Peace and quiet are more desirable on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday when the Virgo Moon is moving through your ultra-private 12th house. Time spent alone or with one sensitive person in a secret place can provide the comfort that you seek. Bolder behavior is likely on Sunday with a lunar shift into your sociable sign. You’re ready for excitement and might be so bored with the usual routine that you’re the one to shake things up.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Social activities involving friends or colleagues should spice up your life this weekend. The Moon’s presence in your 11th House of Groups enlivens the mood on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday when you’re a valuable part of a team. Connecting with someone special while working for a charitable organization makes for a perfect blend of service and pleasure. However, it’s smart to get your rest, because Sunday could be a wild day as sudden changes of mood provide all the surprises you can handle.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Finding time to enjoy yourself could be challenging this weekend. The hardworking Virgo Moon is highlighting your 10th House of Responsibilities until Sunday morning, loading you down with plenty of obligations. On the plus side, this gives you a wonderful chance to prove what a competent leader you are now. However, don’t promise too much, because earning respect may not sound sexy, but could be a positive step toward obtaining the love you desire.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Your interest in unique and unconventional subjects could enhance your relationship life this weekend. The Moon is traveling through detail-oriented Virgo and your 9th House of Learning, enabling you to combine education and entertainment. Whether you’re a student or a teacher, taking in cultural events not only sharpens your mind, but makes you a more desirable companion. Being generous with your knowledge only increases your sex appeal.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

The analytical Virgo Moon’s presence in your 8th House of Intimacy can bring you closer with someone special over the weekend. However, there may be some critical little details to be worked out to make this magic happen. Discussing delicate issues requires maturity and a willingness to be precise about your needs. It’s easy to find faults now, but romance flourishes when hard truths are softened with kind words of compassion and forgiveness.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

The picky Virgo Moon enters your 7th House of Partnerships on Thursday night to place relationship matters on the front burner most of the weekend. You may be dealing with a critical person, but don’t let tender feelings keep you from facing the facts. You might have to work hard to restore peace to a current alliance or to get off to a good start with someone new. Use common sense to create the safety net that you need for the intimacy that follows.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Monday, December 12th

If some of your pep and dynamism have been restricted as of late, it might be due to the recent Mercury reversal in Sagittarius that has been in effect since November 23. This doesn’t mean Mercury has been a bad or negative celestial influence – only that it hasn’t been moving in the same direction as the Sun and Moon (the two luminaries in the sky). Once Mercury makes its station tomorrow and returns to direct motion, it is easier for your mental interests and communication skills to line up creatively with your overall character (Sun) and personality expression (Moon). Meanwhile, as Mercury slows down in its retrograde cycle today, you want to strive to maintain productivity across the board as the Sun squares Ceres (3:32AM PST). This largest asteroid – Ceres – has much to do with productivity via its affiliations with Mother Nature, agriculture, gardening, food, diet and nutrition. Fortunately, 7 hours after the Sun moves 90-degrees to Ceres, Venus makes a constructive, 60-degree link to Ceres (10:46AM PST) – helping you stay busy and active with favorite arts, crafts and hobbies. Hit the scientific, metaphysical and astrological books this evening – courtesy of a subtle and yet still supportive, 30-degree tie from Jupiter in Taurus to Uranus in Aries (9:24PM PST). Once Jupiter shifts its retrograde energy-field to direct motion on Christmas Day, it will eventually play catch up with Uranus to form another one of these 30-degree links on January 17, 2012. While the 30-degree aspect is considered minor by most astrologers, it still has the power to give you a lift or breakthrough that can change your life for the better.

We A Truly Blessed On This Beautiful Monday, dear friends!

Spellcrafting for Monday

SPELL AGAINST PSYCHIC ATTACK

When an attack takes place, the Psychic Vampire receives an energy surge while the
victim experiences fatigue. People who “suck” the energy of others are
called “psychic vampires.” This “sucking” takes place when one’s energy is depleted
and needs to be replenished so he or she “sucks” the energy of another person. It is
not unusual for a person who is ill or feeling inadequate emotionally to draw upon or
deplete energized individuals of their life force. These “suckers” are not bad people,
most of them are not aware on a conscious level that they are doing what they are doing.
Still, their unknowing actions can play havoc with anyone who leaves an energetic
opening for this type of thievery. It is important for us to be aware that we may be
susceptible to having our energies stolen from us and learn ways to protect ourselves.
The harm in a psychic attack is that there is no fair exchange of energy and therefore one
feels depleted while the other becomes energized.

SYMPTOMS OF PSYCHIC ATTACK

SPELL TO STRENGTHEN YOUR PSYCHIC SHIELD

The night before the Full Moon, find a place where your altar will not be disturbed for 24 hours.
Put the cauldron in the center with a red candle on the right side, black candle of the
left side, and white candle in the back; but do not light them yet.
Sprinkle a mixture of equal parts of elder blossoms, marjoram, mint and rue in an unbroken
circle around the cauldron. Into a tiny vial, measure equal drops of clove, frankincense,
jasmine, and lavender. Set the sealed bottle in the cauldron and leave until the night
of the Full Moon. On Full Moon night, take a cleansing bathe and robe yourself in white.
Carry a good protective or purification incense through every room in the house.
Make certain that the smoke drifts into closets.
Return to the altar and light the candles. Take up the dagger or sword. Face the
East and raise the sword in salute. To salute in this manner, simply hold the sword
point upward in front of you. Say:
By the power of the rising sun, all evil in my life is done.
Turn to the South, salute, say:
By the power of darkening night, my shield is strong, my armor tight.
Turn to the North, salute, say:
By Full Moon in blackening sky, I am not alone. My help is nigh.
The Goddess’s hands around me stay, To keep me safe by night and day.
Begone, foul spirits, unbidden here. I send you back, I do not fear.
For I have won. I am set free. You have no further power over me.
Face the altar and take up the vial of oil.
Put a drop of oil on your finger and anoint your forehead, heart, solar plexus, wrists and ankles.
As you do this, visualize a shining blue suit of armor slowly descending over your
body until you are entirely protected. Cap the bottle and store in a safe place.
Thank the Powers for their help and extinguish the candles.
Apply the oil and repeat the chants whenever you feel the armor is slipping.

HEALING CHARM TO BANISH SICKNESS

HEALING CHARM TO BANISH SICKNESS

Another charm to banish sickness is make by placing a gold coin in a glass of red wine.
Put this beneath the stars and waning moon for three nights, and each night drink one
third of the wine to shrink your sickness until it’s gone. This originated in rural Welsh regions,
with some similar spells appearing in Scotland and England.
