Much of the cosmic intensity from Monday is still present. This is a good time in the cosmic calendar to remind you that solar and planetary alignments happening on a given day don’t just disappear 24 hours later. They remain percolating, but influential somewhat behind the scenes or under the new astro-psychic radar screen. Therefore, knowing that yesterday was murky at best, there is some excitement going on early since Chiron forms a contra-parallel with Uranus (12:07AM PDT), the Moon in Aries makes a supportive, 60-degree link with Venus in Gemini (1:19AM PDT) while only three minutes later the Moon unites with Pallas (1:22AM PDT). The Chiron-Uranus tie is similar to a polarity in the zodiac – which, in this case, can represent breakthroughs in higher consciousness. The lunar ties with Venus and Pallas are very welcome – opening up romantic, creative and social doorways, as well as stimulating the problem-solving set of skills all of us humans have in varying degrees. Adding to the party atmosphere is a highly constructive, 60-degree rapport from Venus to Pallas (3:50AM PDT) and a Moon-Mercury flowing trine (4:01AM PDT). Arts, crafts, hobbies, as well as card, board or word games can give you a boost. There is a need to cut through obstacles on your mental and even spiritual path later on when the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (activating 20 degrees of Cancer and Aries at 6:49PM PDT) manifests with a strong celestial presence. Quarter Moon cycles are often underestimated in terms of their influence, but they can be as intense as the New and Full Moons that happen every month.

Whether your new beginning excites or scares you, the dragon is an excellent symbol of courage.

Items You Will Need:

Materials to make or draw a two- or three-dimensional dragon (for example, clay, wood, newspaper and glue, thin copper wire, different papers, paints, a computer drawing program); a small dish of dried tarragon

Best Time To Cast:

Two or three days before the new ventures is to begin

The Spell:

Create your power dragon, giving it huge wings so that you can soar high in the clouds to launch your new venture.
Set out your dragon and place next to it the dish of tarragon (herb of dragon courage). Say: “I have the power, I have the courage, I have the Dragon gold. How can I fail?”
Keep your dragon somewhere where you can see it, repeating the chant last thing at night and first thing in the morning in the days before your launch. If possible, add tarragon to meals.

Good Tuesday Morning To All My Lovely Friends!

Good Morning, my lovely friends! Lovely? Huh, don’t ask! You know it is going to be one of those mornings when you find yourself drinking milk and eat cookies for breakfast. On the main page, were the pics alternate, you have to have a huge image to fit there. Well I have been playing in Bing for probably about an hour to find such a pic. I am scared to death to think there are two more slots for featured articles.

But seriously, I put on a new article about Hecate. In the process, I got to posting the “Charge to the Dark Goddess” and some poetry. So I got to thinking why not start the day off with the “Charge To The Goddess?” That is one piece of work, I can never get enough of reading.

Good Blessed Monday Morning to you, my dear, dear friends!

Good Morning my dearest of friends! As you have probably figured out by now, there is no telling what you are going to find on this blog, lol! I am probably one of the most moody witches you will ever meet in your life. I can start out on one subject or interest and in a bat of an eye, change to another. My daughter says there is a syndrome for that, lol! I just tell her, my mind races at 90 miles a minute and it does. There is so much I want to do, so much I want to tell. I could to the realization early in life, that life is very precious. What little time we have here, we must accomplish all that we can.

As most of you probably have gathered by now, I love the Goddess very much. I also love our Ancestors very much. I admire them. I am eternally thankful to them. I cannot begin to imagine what they must have endured. Think back for a moment….We are now in the 1600’s. It is a beautiful Spring day. You are outside in the woods with your husband. Lovingly embracing, walking hand in hand looking for berries and nuts. Your daughter comes running down the path screaming, “Mother, Mother, the Lord, deacons & constable from the church are here!” You and your husband are discussing what they want. You pick up your pace. You can see them standing in your wooded front yard. You greet them and before you can say another word, the constable and deacons are putting you in irons. You hear the Lord proclaim, “There are accusations against you that you are Witches!” You gasp, “What?” You are not allowed to say anything in your defense. You are put on a wagon, carted off to town, with your crying 14 year old daughter following as far as she can.

I admit some of the details might not be quite accurate (like there being a Lord present). But yet it is a dramatic scene to imagine. It would be even more dramatic to live. You piss a neighbor off. The neighbor goes to the Church and accuses you of Witchcraft. The Church was more than eager to bring you in. You know why? 100% of the time, you would be convicted as a Witch. The Church has a lot to gain by your conviction. Your land, your property, your home, your money, everything you had went to the Church. Now if that wasn’t reason enough to make sure the innocent people and our Ancestors were found guilty, I don’t know what was. Some of the punishments dished out were pathetic, absolutely pathetic. The one we were discussing the other night, was were the person was taken to the pond. Then the person was thrown into the pond. If the person floated, she/he was a Witch. If they drowned, they were innocent. Then after the person that floated survived that, they were taken and burned. Make a lot of sense doesn’t it? Either way you are very much dead. But our Ancestors were extra ordinary individuals. They were committed to our Religion enough to die for it. Others, thankfully when underground to preserve our Religion. Witchcraft was passed on by word of mouth, from one generation to the next. Each generation was told what our great Ancestors had done to make sure our Religion lived on.

Today, we do not take time to thank our Ancestors for all they have done for us. For all they sacrificed and in all case, given their lives for us to have. We take our Religion for granted. It is here but we don’t stop to realize what it took for it to get here.

Doing my research this morning, I ran across a poem that was written during the Burning Times. I would like to share it with you now.

Burning Times

The songs are sung to rouse our anger of martyred Witches gone to the fires, But what is served by righteous singing, if all we do is stew in our ire? Nine million dead in four hundred years; More in that time simply died of disease. Why do we dwell on long past dead When we are alive in times like these?

Rise up, Witches, throw off your masks And cease crying guilt for ancient crimes. Earth and all Her children need us For ALL face now the Burning Times.

In the face of that hostile power, how did the old knowledge stay alive? How have we still a Craft to practice? Our ancestors knew how to fight and survive! How do we honour our blessed dead? Slavery threatens us all but few. We must teach their cunning ways — EVERYONE needs the skills they knew!

Rise up, Witches, gather your strength, And let your power spread and climb; Earth and all Her children need us For ALL face now the Burning Times.

I will not cast off Science’s works — Witches all forces to Will can bend; I’ll not accuse for war and waste some patriarchy of faceless men. Men do not cast the only votes; Women alone do not demonstrate. Rather than shut out half the race, Who if not we will change that state?

Did it ever occur to the writers of your antique laws that the Craft might actually be WELCOMED by a great number of people? That there might actually be more of us than of those who wish us ill? That the only reason those who fear us are so active nowadays is because they see us becoming more and more welcomed by more people? As I say in another song,

“When folk in sorrow turn away/

From paths that lead to misery/

And seek new ways for wholeness’ sake/

Then waiting, ready shall we be.”

All I can say is, I’m Goddess-glad I’m not in your tradition.

Your Magickal Spell for Saturday, July 7 – Intuition Pouch

Intuition Pouch

One of the most important ways of strengthening your intuition is to believe in it and to set aside some time to sit quietly and see or listen to your inner thoughts. Traditionally, your intuition is stronger when the moon is either dark or full. At the next dark moon, make an intuition pouch to help you tune into your deepest thoughts.

Items You Will Need:

Choose three of the following oils: cloves, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense

Choose three of the following herbs: bay laurel, cinnamon, cloves, mugwort

A small glass bowl

A low table covered with a clean cloth

A dark blue candle

A small circular piece of dark blue cloth

A length of black string or embroidery thread

Matches

A comfortable cushion to sit on

Best Time To Cast:

The last day of the waning moon (the dark moon).

The Spell:

Mix the oils and herbs in the bowl and place it on the table along with the candle, the piece of cloth and the string or embroidery thread. Light the candle and turn out the lights. Sit in front of the table on a cushion and look into the light. Relax, calm your mind, and focus on the light of the candle. When you feel ready, place the pile of herbs onto the cloth, saying the following words:

“Open the starlit veil of night,

so I may see with inner sight:

By magic’s art, reveal to me,

The hidden things I wish to see.”

Gather the cloth up, with the herbs still inside, and tie the ends together, so that it makes a pouch, with the string or embroidery thread. Wear your pouch at times when you want your intuition to be at its strongest.

Good Saturday Morning, my dear, dear friends!

Good Morning to all my dear friends! I hope you are having a fantastic morning and staying cool. This little guy above is about the way I feel today. We have nine days of temperatures above 100 degrees. Not a drop of rain for a month now, just hot, hot, hot temps. After a while the heat starts to take a toll on a person. According to our weather people (half the time they don’t know what they are talking about, lol!), today is suppose to be our last day in the 100’s for a few days. I think tomorrow is suppose to be 95 and that will feel like a cold snap has come through, lol!

I shouldn’t complain, I am more fortunate than some. I think about those poor people around Washington, D. C. No power, no A/C, they can’t even turn on a fan to beat the heat. They must be miserable. I feel so sorry for them. I pray their power will be restored soon and their lives can get back to normal.

There are so many in need in this country right now. We can’t forget those people in the West that are battling the wildfires. All the firefighters risking their lives daily. Plus all the homeowners that have lost everything. My heart truly breaks for them. I can’t imagine getting up one morning, everything perfectly normally. Then there is a knock on the door, a person telling you to grab what you can, you have to leave. You get in your car, as you look back, your house has already started going up in flames. Everything you have worked your entire life for, gone in a matter of minutes. Oh Goddess, how horrible.

With there being so much need in this country right now. Will you take a moment today to say this prayer with me and light a candle, please.

O dearest Goddess, Mother of the green

Earth, blue waters and the silver Moon,

please be with us now in our hour of

need. Stress, confusion and chaos have

take hold of our lives, and we can feel

the weight of life’s burdens suffocating

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Solar fireworks might be heading our way for the 4th

A solar flare disrupts radio communication in Europe and is expected to light up the sky in the coming days. Msnbc.com’s Richard Lui reports.

The sun sent out a flare powerful enough to disrupt radio communications over Europe today, along with an eruption of electrically charged particles that just might sweep past Earth’s magnetic field in time to spark a Fourth of July show of auroral fireworks.

The M5.6-class solar flare, observed by NASA’s Solar Dynamic Observatory at 6:52 a.m. ET (10:52 GMT), was almost powerful enough to cross over from the medium M-class category to an extreme X-class event, SpaceWeather.com’s Tony Phillips noted. “A pulse of X-rays and UV radiation from the flare illuminated Earth’s upper atmosphere, producing waves of ionization over Europe,” he wrote.

Such waves can spark bursts of radio static, as recorded by Rob Stammes in Norway and noted by the National Weather Service’s Space Weather Prediction Center. “Radio blackout storms have been observed in the past 24 hours,” the center reported on its Facebook page.

SpaceWeather.com says the solar eruption threw out a coronal mass ejection, or CME — not directly toward Earth, but in a southerly celestial direction. In the video above, you can see the solar material blurping downward and outward from a monster sunspot region known as AR 1515.

Phillips writes that the “south-traveling cloud could deliver a glancing blow to our planet’s magnetosphere on July 4th or 5th.” However, the Space Weather Prediction Center says the CME “is not expected to disturb the field during the forecast period.”

The sun is in the midst of an upswing in its 11-year activity cycle, heading toward an expected maximum in 2013. Right now there are five sunspot regions on the sun’s Earth-facing side, and two of them — 1513 and 1515 — are considered capable of sending out M-class flares. Such flares are generally associated with moderate disruption of radio communication and navigation systems. As for today’s CME, the most likely effect will be heightened displays of the northern and southern lights.

CME or not, it looks as if it’s a good week for auroras, judging from the pictures being sent in to SpaceWeather.com’s real-time image gallery. The prime time for auroras generally begins at just about the time of night that the fireworks shows are finishing up. And there’s more to see besides the fireworks: This happens to be a great week for seeing the full moon and Mars in sunset skies, or seeing Jupiter and Venus just before dawn.
