| Name: | Snicker Doodle |
Age: | One and a half years old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Shih Tzu |
| Home: | Boardman, Ohio, USA | ||
|
This is Snicker Doodle. She goes by Snicks, Snickers and Doodle bug. Snicks is unique in that she uses her little paws like hands. When playing she will grab onto your arm or hand and hold on. She also loves her babies. Snickers has a big basket of toys and when you say “where’s your baby?” she looks around and find a stuffed animal. Snicks also makes this noise like a raccoon, its a gurgling high pitched growl and we have never heard another dog do this. And if you start howling, she will howl right back.
Snicker Doodle is our second Shih Tzu. Marshmallow Cream Puff, our first, is the black and white one. Marsh is not an outdoorsy type of dog but Snickers loves to sit outside in the snow, rain or sunshine. She will sit in the backyard and face the sun and let the wind blow towards her. She especially loves the snow, burying her face in it and running. On her collar we put a little bell so where she was as a puppy we could find her. We never took the bell off so when we hear the jingling we know her cute little face is going to pop up around the corner. Snicks is the most love-able and unique dog we have ever seen or owned. Her personality is truly one of a kind. ![]() See more images of Snicker Doodle! |

| Name: | Chopper |
Age: | Ten months old |
| Gender: | Male | Breed: | Boxer |
| Home: | Rhode Island, USA | ||
|
This is my boxer Chopper also known as Lil Wiggle, Plopper, Chopper Doodle Doo, Dumbo Man, Lil Wiggle Butt, Crazy Dog, Piggy, Lil Piggles, Chop Chop, Trouble and list goes on. I fell in love with this cutie when I first receive a picture of him on my phone. It was the greatest surprise gift of all time. I finally got to meet him few days later on July 12th, 2011 when he was just 10.5 weeks old. He was the cutest puppy I had ever seen.
Chopper is your typical boxer pup. He loves to play all the time. He is either sleeping or playing with his toys, me, or his papa. He is very special to me because he is my first puppy. I definitely baby him all the time. Chopper also has an infinite amount of energy. To help him release some of that energy, we take him for long runs on the beach while we are on our quad. I’m pretty sure he can run 15 mph and more. He is lightning fast. Chopper loves being outside with me. He especially gets super excited when there is snow out. I like to pick him up and drop him in a pile of fresh powder. It’s fun to watch him wiggle out of it in delight. When we aren’t outside playing, we are inside and learning new tricks. He has learned over ten tricks so far. Chopper’s favorite tricks are playing dead and shaking your hand. Other than taking naps at the end of our bed during the day, he also loves to look out our window and watch birds outside. Chopper Doodle Doo is endless entertainment and fun. He never fails to make me smile and laugh for hours. He is the best friend you could ask for and my life would not be complete without him. ![]() ![]() |

| Name: | Lissy |
Age: | Four years old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Dalmatian |
| Home: | Germany | ||
| My dog Lissy is a Dalmatian. She is sweet, funny, smart, pretty and cool. She love delis, dog food and dog bones to eat, and she loves to play, and to run. She can run very fast in the fields when we take her there. Lissy is four years old, and she is white and black, as you can see. She does have things she dislikes, though. She dislikes cats a lot, and does not like getting sprayed with water. Most of all she dislikes the Hoover (vacuum cleaner) most of all, and will leave the room when one is brought into it. She is pretty, I think, and she is my friend. | |||
Dog-gone Doggie of the Day for April 4th

|||
| Name: | Brennan |
Age: | Two years old |
| Gender: | Male | Breed: | American Pit Bull Terrier |
| Home: | Knoxville, Tennessee, USA | ||
|
Brennan is a very special dog that I’ve enjoyed bringing into my life. He hasn’t always had a wonderful life though, and his story started out on the streets. Brennan was thrown out and left to fend for himself when he was a puppy. He was found starved to death and living off of mulch by a compassionate family on the other side of town. He was smart enough to eat what he could find, and I’m sure that’s how he survived as long as he did in his condition.
The family took him in, nursed him back to health, got him vetted, and put him up for adoption. He was on Petfinder.com for eight months before I stumbled upon him and immediately fell in love. He joined my life in November of 2010, and is now approximately two years old. I can’t possibly understand how nobody could want him, because Brennan is nothing but a lovable dork. He loves playing fetch with his favorite green octopus, going for walks, meeting new people and children, and eating everything he thinks is edible, including a couple of shoes and leashes. He is one of the things that brings character and life into my day, and there is nothing more entertaining than coming home to the sweet whimpers and butt wiggles of my goofy boy. He isn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box, but he is mine and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. ![]() See more images of Brennan! |

7 Ways to Deal With Smelly Pets
7 Ways to Deal With Smelly Pets
- Nicolas, selected from petMD
By Patricia Khuly, DVM, PetMD
Got a pet who’s conditioned you to believe that his loving presence is worth all his foul odors? If your pet smells nasty then you probably know exactly what I’m talking about (though some of you may be in denial). Everyone else thinks he stinks and stays away. But you? You love him, aroma and all.
Nonetheless, there is something you can do about her chronic malodor, especially if she falls into one of the following categories of stinkiness. Read up on the concern and, for best results internalize their listed solutions!
1. The Skin Sufferers
If the surface of your pet’s skin’s smell is reminiscent of rotting fruit, something freshly dug up from deep underground, or just plain dogginess, you’ll know what I mean.
Solution: Whether this happens year-round or is limited to certain seasons, pets with certain skin conditions such as allergic skin disease and keratinization disorders (characterized by greasy and/or flaky skin), treatment of the underlying disease is generally effective in reducing or eliminating the odors associated with skin infections that accompany it.
Medicated shampoos and antibiotic and/or anti-fungal treatments are often necessary, at least at first and/or periodically, to tamp down the offending bacteria and/or yeast.
2. The Wildlife Devotees
These are the pets that stop, drop and roll at the sights and smells of a rotting carcass or raccoon feces (the foulest smelling scat on the planet). Maybe she’s a chronic stray cat poop consumer (like my Sophie), or a skunk tracking wonder-dog.
Solution: Restriction of a pet’s yard-based or hiking activities is usually not advisable. They need an outlet for their natural drives––and the exercise, of course. Picking up scat in your yard is helpful, as is special fencing to reduce encroachment by certain wildlife species (if you must).
Alternatively and/or additionally, treating the resulting foul odors can be achieved through an excellent, freshly brewed mix of hydrogen peroxide (1 quart), baking soda (1/3 cup) and a dash of a grease-cutting dish soap like Dawn (my favorite).
3. The Gaseous Ones
You know who you are.
Solution: Determining whether your pet has a condition such as intestinal parasitism, IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) or a pancreatic malfunction (as in EPI or “exocrine pancreatic insufficiency”) is crucial. But most pets who suffer excessive flatulence are merely exhibiting a mild intolerance to one or more ingredients in their diets.
Treatment of the primary dysfunction depends on the disease process, of course, but for those who suffer simple digestive intolerance may be helped either with pro-biotic supplements or through a process of trial and error with respect to diet choices. Carefully switching diets with varying ingredients until a minimum of flatulence is achieved is often fruitful in this regard.
4. The Bad-Breath Breakfast Club
Oral breath, usually secondary to periodontal disease, can lay low a whole crowd of dinner party guests who might otherwise truly enjoy your pet––and their meal.
Solution: Regular brushing (at least twice a week, but daily for some pets) and routine anesthetic dentistry (as often as every few months for severe sufferers) is the mainstay of bad breath resolution.
But some pets just have bad breath that arises chronically from their mouths and/or stomach gases––not necessarily from their teeth. These latter pets may be helped by adjusting the ingredients in their food and possibly by adding parsley to their diet (available in capsules). “Fresh breath” water supplements are not helpful, in my opinion, but some pet owners beg to differ.
5. The Anal Gland Leakers
The two anal glands, found on either side of the anus in dogs and cats occasionally have the propensity to fill up and spill out when over-full. The characteristic stench is perhaps the nastiest odor pets are capable of emitting.
Solution: Getting this under control is usually achieved by expressing the anal glands manually on a regular basis. Veterinarians and experienced groomers are best suited to this task, though many of my owners are willing to learn and manage quite well on their own.
A hydrogen peroxide wipe to the backside is very helpful once the odor becomes apparent.
6. The Otic Stink-Bombs
Ear infections are almost always skin infections. But their specific challenges mean very specific odors distinct from that of the rest of the skin. A fruity-smelling yeast infection that may or may not progress to a stinking bacterial infection is the usual finding.
Solution: Allergic skin disease is the primary cause of external ear infections in both cats and dogs. Infections can be dealt with by treating the underlying condition. Antibiotics and anti-fungals are used to tackle the infection––and the stink––but it will return (I promise), sometimes even after treating the allergy. After all, not every allergy is 100% treatable.
Cleaning the ears regularly with a mild disinfectant solution is always advisable.
7. The Wet Dog Crowd
Does your dog spend his life in the pool? Here in Miami that’s not uncommon––especially with Labs. Problem is, that also means wet dog smell that chronically lingers.
Solution: Keep your outdoor dog indoors, fence off the pool or invest in a proper canine blow-drier. Additionally, I recommend that you “Furminate”your dog daily to relieve her of some of the undercoat that traps moisture.

| Name: | Callie |
Age: | Four months old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Boxer |
| Home: | Canada | ||
|
This is Callie, she is my pride and joy. This little boxer baby was born on October 23rd 2011 in Marystown, Newfoundland. Now, let me explain to you where she came from, and why I love her! During my search for my new puppy, I posted an advertisement on the internet explaining that I was looking for a boxer pup. The reason for this, is because I had a boxer before Callie. He meant the world to me, unfortunately I lost him. When I found myself ready to move on and “fill the void” so to speak, I was determined to find the perfect one.
One cold night, in the middle of November, my cell phone rang. I didn’t recognize the number, but I answered it anyway. I was greeted by the cheerful voice of a young woman. She went on to explain that she saw my ad, and she is the proud owner of two pure bred boxer’s, Jerzi and Jax. She told me that Jerzi had recently given birth to eight boxer puppies who were only a few days old. She continued telling me about the puppies, what they looked like, how many were male and female, etc. Personally, I was in search of a brindle, male boxer pup, just like my old one. Unfortunately the only brindle puppies available were all females. I’d never owned a female dog before so I was a bit skeptical. After our long and informative phone conversation, the lady sent me some pictures of each pup. I browsed through them a few times but only one caught my eye. There she was, a days old, feeble, wrinkly, brindle, beautiful. I had never been more in love with a photograph in all my life. I called the lady back the next day and told her I had chosen the puppy I wanted. The biggest, the first born, the most beautiful. She was thrilled with my decision and so was I. I soon after paid the $300.00 deposit, and picked out her name. All there was left to do was wait. On December 18th 2011, I drove to meet with the lady’s husband to finally own my perfect puppy. I was overwhelmed with excitement I nearly jumped out of the car while I was still driving to my destination! When I finally arrived to the rendezvous, I paid him the rest of the cash, and held her in my arms for the first time. It was cold, windy and snowy, she was cold so I wrapped her in the blanket I bought especially for her. She snuggled into me the whole way home, on my lap. I’d never been so happy to own something in my life. I brought her into my home to show my sister and family and of course, they fell in love. Callie is the most brilliant puppy I have ever seen. She was easily house trained, she knows quite a few tricks, and gets along famously with my mother’s dog, Max. I know boxers have a ton of energy but Callie is something else! She’ll run laps around the house, prancing and tripping up in her legs at the same time, front flip into her bed and kick and squirm and whine for her own entertainment. well, ours too, its quite the scene. She gets too excited sometimes but can calm down as soon as I say so. Her gorgeous chestnut brown eyes sparkle at me every morning and it just lights up my day! She’s so silly, so cuddly and so beautiful! I would do anything for this little girl, she’s my whole world! The thing I love most about dogs, any dog, is that they will never judge you. They will always love you. You are all they know. They depend on you. It feels good to know you’re the one they look up to. I wouldn’t trade her for the world. ❤ |

My dog has different colours and he has a soft coat. When he is curious, he holds his head tilted. So I like my dog. But he’s small, very small. In the winter he likes eating very much, so he is getting a little bit thick.
My dog is from Spain, and he’s a mixed breed. He can do lots of good tricks (give five, go slalom ). What I like about my dog is that he looks sooooo sweet and lovely. He’s a independent type. He goes in the forest and then he sniffs everywhere. He favourite game to play is the apple-game! I throw a apple and he runs and then he bites into the apple and he looks like he wants to say ” I think I’ll keep it …” Somentimes he brings back, though. He likes this game. He’s sooooo happy and funny. I like my little dog. |

| Name: | Otis |
Age: | Nine years old |
| Gender: | Male | Breed: | Black Labrador Retriever |
| Home: | Loganton, Pennsylvania, USA | ||
| Otis is special because at the age of two, he jumped off my deck, landed badly and injured his spine. He was unable to walk or control his bladder for quite awhile. I didn’t know if he’d ever walk again, but he proved everyone wrong.Today, Otis still experiences some difficulties due to his injury, but the smile never has left his face. He loves to swim and run with his brother Filson. Otis and Filson both have been a godsend to me. I don’t know what I would do without them. They show me unconditional love, and I show them unconditional love in return.
Otis has an infectious personality. When he runs and is playing he truly does smile… He loves playing frisbee and is very affectionate. The picture of him in the water is from a couple years ago, when he hadn’t gotten quite as white on his muzzle. He loves being around people and dogs … of all kinds. Also, he is a bed hog. I have a king size bed and with him and Filson on it there is barely enough room for me. Gotta love him! |

| This is my dog Bebe, and she was originally my boyfriends grandmas dog. She is a Border collie mix. A funny part of this story is her name is Bebe. We found a lump on her ear, so we took her to the vet and he said it was a bb. Then he asked Is that why you named her that? How ironic. We had no idea that was there when we named her.She will be four in September and is a very sweet thing. When we come home she jumps on us and puts her paws around our necks and gives us a hug. One of her favorite thing is when the ice cream truck comes around she goes crazy and wants her frosty paws. We are lucky the ice cream truck carries it! Well … she deserves it anyhow. We love her very much.

Age: | Three and half months old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Dog |
| Home: | Houston, Texas, USA | ||

This is Lacy! I adopted her from the Houston SPCA when she was just two months old! I knew she was mine within five minutes of arriving there. She came from an overcrowded home and she loves having my apartment all to herself! Lacy enjoys long walks along the Houston bayou, visits to the dog park, hanging out of my car window, sleeping after visits to the dog park, sitting in buckets of water, chewing bones, getting treats and learning to roll over! She is extremely smart and knows it too! She likes to ignore me when we are training as if to say “Mom seriously? We have done this already!”
She enjoys sleeping in odd spots in the house like under chairs and at the top of the couch. Lacy has lots of energy and is a very independent puppy. Though when she wants to she follows me from room to room in my apartment. She loves to cuddle and sleep at my feet each night as well as let me know when I need to stop doing homework by laying on it. She is a sweet heart in every way and she is my best friend, though she gets into her fair share of messes. Her next trick we are working on is “play dead”. Wish her luck! ![]() See more images of Lacy! |

Hello! My name is Taggart. My mom volunteers at a shelter called ARF and was working one evening for a special event in November of 2008. I was brought out to meet people and when I met my mom I put my head on her leg and that was it. She came back the next day to adopt me and I’ve been happily living in my new home for over three years. I will be turning four in May of this year.
I live in a house with one other dog and two cats. I like to play with the cats but only the boy cat will play with me. The girl just runs and hides. Right now I am the only dog in the house. My sister, Zoee, has been at grandma’s house since Christmas. I’m not sure why, something about her knee, but I know I miss her. I’m so bored all the time with no one to play with. But mom takes me on walks and sometimes to the park to play with other dogs. That’s so cool! That’s not something we do when Zoee is home. My mom and dad always say how silly I am. I sleep in funny positions and make strange noises when I yawn. Mom also says I sound like Chewbacca (whoever that is). The picture of me with the tennis ball is when I first came home. I sure have grown! Mom says I’m a little chunky right now since I’m not getting as much exercise with Zoee being gone. She even cut back on my food! But I still get a carrot every day. Well, I’m going to go bug mom to take me for a walk since the rain has stopped for a while. Talk to you later!! |

Hello this is Harley! Officially Castle of Harley Donagal O’Killian ~’Harley’ for short. Harley is the keeper of my castle! He runs the roost! During the day Harley is an outside watch dog, keeping the bunnies, squirrels and birds at bay. In the evening he cuddles and lounges in front of the hearth. When Harley goes on walks he has a backpack he wears to carry his water, this is a very important job for him and he takes great pride when doing so, and wants people to notice that he is working.
Harley is very smart he knows the difference between all his stuffed toys and brings them to me by name on command! He also will speak, sit, lay down, shake, wait, back up, stay and fetch, mostly by hand signals! All with a treat reward of coarse! My friend Harley is a joyful and a frolicking character, he howls and makes talking sounds when he comes in every night and makes funny faces (for a dog). He makes me laugh every day. Harley is friendly to all dogs and cats and enjoys a good chase on occasion at the dog park. His only ‘pet peeve’ is squirrels, they aren’t welcome in his eyes and tells them so. He is the talk of the parties. Harley is an active dog and full of energy that he is willing to share with whom ever is willing to play with him. |

Age: | Three years old |
| Gender: | Male | Breed: | German Shepherd Dog |
| Home: | Roscoe, Illinois, USA | ||

Buster was just thirteen pounds at six weeks of age when we brought him into our family. He was shy, timid, yet playful and full of energy. By the time he turned one, he was near 100 pounds and had become very protective of the four kids. He knows when it is time for the school bus to drop off the kids because then he gets to play his favorite game – FRISBEE. He will wait for you to throw his Frisbee, catch it, bring it back to you, and do this again and again without ever stopping. Nothing can distract him when he is playing Frisbee. You can try to give him his favorite treats — carrots, green beans, apples, and he will just turn up his nose because all he wants to do is play Frisbee. He won’t forget about the treats because when he’s done playing, he comes back in the house looking all over for the treats. He knows a lot of tricks. He can open doors. Although we are trying to teach him how to close the door behind him. He wakes each one of the kids up with kisses and nibbles on the bed. After each one is awake and ready to go to school, he lays down because his job is done. If there is any water outside, you will see Buster laying in it. He loves to play and swim in water. He’s not particular if it’s his pool or a mud puddle. Buster is such a huge part of our family. We love our Buster! |

| Gender: | Female | Breed: | American Eskimo Dog |
| Home: | Valley Stream, New York, USA | ||

I was mourning the loss of my dog (an American Eskimo – fourteen years old) for two weeks six year ago, when my friends bought me a three-month-old dog, Freya. She is so good with me and stays by my side all day. I am home every day because of my disability. She helps me to get through the days. I love her.
Freya is extremely affectionate. When I don’t feel well, she sense it and will curl up next to me and stroke me with her paw. She is so intuitive. I have problems with my legs and she will lay next to me and lick my legs. When she is happy to see someone she doesn’t bark she “croons” in such a way to say “I’m happy to see you!” Freya isn’t much of a trick girl. She is all about family. She loves to push her toys across the floor with her nose and then pops it in the air with her nose. She makes us smile every day! |

| Name: | Sadie |
Age: | Twelve years old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Old English Sheepdog, Saint Bernard |
| Home: | Louisville, Kentucky, USA | ||

This is my beautiful “Sheep-Bernard” Sadie Baby or Sadie Bird or Pupino. As you can see she is a perfect mixture of her parents – long hair and sense of humor from her mom and coloring and soulful eyes from her dad. Sadie was a rescue baby weaned at only a couple of weeks and wouldn’t be around today if my vet hadn’t called and told me about her. She was being passed off as a full Old English Sheepdog and was living in dirty and unsafe conditions. Even though I wasn’t ready for another dog, off we went for an adventure together.
To look at this huge goofy looking girl you wouldn’t think that she is sensitive but she is clearly attuned to my moods and what’s going on around her emotionally. I’ve never heard of Saint’s being used as service dogs or therapy dogs but if this is consistent with the breed I think they would be perfect. I guess she got the drool factor from her mom the OES so she doesn’t drool much unless there is some mouth-watering people food she’s trying to get. People should never be afraid of rescue dogs. Sadie has brought me years of joy and I sure do hope that she feels the same way about me. She’s my Dog of the Day. |

Lucie is a very energetic and lovable dog, although she thinks of herself as more of a human. She frequently sits on the couch like us and will try to get into chairs., too. She wants to be part of everything we do, as you could probably guess! She was rescued from a puppy mill in Tennessee in April 2009. She was named after the character, Lucie, from the novel, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. When some people see her they think she’s still a puppy, but she is full grown – as much as she’ll ever get – at two years old. She is extremely protective of her family, even though if someone ever was to break in, she would run away and hide. Her biggest fear is the fire alarm beeping when steam gets too near it. Lucie is the cutest and most playful dog I have ever known. |

Our dog Tyson is a big boy, he weighs 120 pounds! Some people think he is half horse. He acts like the biggest baby, though. He came into our home to join our female golden and they are great friends now. We know he does need to lose some weight, but in general he is a very large-boned dog for his breed!
Tyson loves carrying bones around; he can’t go in or out of the house without his bone. He loves attention and can’t stand it when he’s not getting any. He is such a wonderful dog with a great personality. He has brought so much joy into our home. He loves to come and put his head on your lap and his paw on your leg. He does know how to ‘shake’ especially if you have a treat for him. If he gets mad at us he gives us ‘dirty looks’, He has a stubborn personality sometimes. He is also very playful with his sister, our other golden retriever Dixie. He really enjoys going to the dog park, too. His sense of smell is incredible! We love him so much and are so happy that he came into our lives. |

| Name: | Hexi |
Age: | Two years old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Doberman Pinscher |
| Home: | Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, USA | ||
|
When I was just a little girl I was visiting with my Great Auntie Barb and Great Uncle Gene. They had Dobermans and I just loved them. I grew up with one named Hexe. She was a beautiful black and rust. When I was about five years old I promised my Great Uncle Gene that when I grew up I would have a pretty Doberman just like his Hexe and I would name my girl Hexi too. My uncle passed away just three weeks after my 6th birthday. I miss him dearly. When I turned ten, his Hexe passed away. I never ever forgot that promise I made to him.
Well on Feb. 13th, 2010 I brought home my first Doberman girl. I named her Diesel’s B&G Hexi Promise. Hexi’s dad’s name was Diesel, and just seven months before I got Hexi my pitbull named Diesel passed away and I know that he meant for me to bring this girl in my life to help me heal from losing him. So that’s where the name Diesel comes in to play with her registered name. The B&G of course stands for Barb and Gene my great auntie and uncle. Then Hexi is after his Hexe. I just decided to put the I at the end instead of the e. And then Promise is for the promise I made to him all those years ago. My sweet Hexi is nearly perfect in my eyes. She makes a great companion. She is on her way to taking her CGC(canine good citizen) test so I can take her into nursing homes and around special needs children. As of right now, she helps me with my PTSD. She is a clown, I couldn’t ask for much more. She is cross-eyed which isn’t something you see often in dogs. The vets said it should go away and they said that when she was a pup and she still has it. I think it adds to her charater. She is just a joy to be around. She likes to lick everything … yep, everything. Windows, floors, people, the bed, my other dog, you name it. She is very, very affectionate. When I was looking at getting one I remember people telling me that Dobermans are well known for being Velcro dogs and very vocal both of which my Hexi is. She doesn’t really have a favorite treat, she will eat just about anything you offer her. She is very smart, too. We have taught her to do high fives, it’s funny. She doesn’t swim if the water is deep, she panics. Generally she goes ’til it touches her chest and out she comes. We bought a life jacket for her for when she goes on the pontoon with us. She loves back massages, and she will put her foot in your lap for you to rub. What can I say, she is pampered. She also doesn’t handle the cold in Wisconsin very well so we bought her boots and a couple of sweat shirts and even a winter jacket. She doesn’t mind us putting them on her. We often joke about it because we have never seen anybody dress their big dogs up like we do. She enjoys when we buy her new collars either. She shows them off as if she were a model. She very much enjoys being in the spotlight and loves her photos taken – she poses often. If we have her out running in the fields and she sees me get my camera out she will sometimes stop and pose and then go on with her playing. She is 82.5 pounds of baby. I don’t think she knows just how big she really is. She is the best dog in the whole world 🙂 |

This is my baby boy McCarty. He is named after a Detroit Red Wings Hockey player. McCarty is a Dachshund/Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. He looks like a dachshund. He is tan in color with white under his neck, nose and tip of his tail.
He has a very human like nature. He loves his mom and whines like a baby every time I leave. He knows the words “car”, “go”, “ride” and any signs of me leaving such as putting on my shoes, grabbing the car keys or purse. I usually have to spell out the words if I am getting ready to leave the house so he won’t get upset. He loves to cuddle with me in bed every night just like a person; under the covers and head on the pillow. He follows me from room to room to get my attention. He loves to play with toys that have squeakers and anything that has stuffing. Once the squeakers and stuffing are out, I just add the remains to his toy basket that is full of destroyed toys. I got McCarty at nine weeks old and he is two and a half now and weighs a whopping seventeen pounds. I think mommy needs to cut down on the treats a little! McCarty is everything I need to keep me company and is loved so very much! |

| Name: | Bojangles |
Age: | Four and a half months old |
| Gender: | Female | Breed: | Boxer, Pitbull mix |
| Home: | Concord, New Hampshire, USA | ||

Bojangles is a four and a half month old Boxer, Pitbull mix. She’s roughly three and a half months in the photos. I rescued her at six weeks old. The mother wasn’t producing enough milk and was rejecting her and her sister. She is now an energetic and very very affectionate puppy, and also very well behaved.
She is very outgoing. She loves everybody and loves other animals as well cats and dogs. She is very active and loves to play tug of war the most. She also loves rawhide bones, and she knows sit and lay down very well. And about 70% of the time will shake (but she’s still young). When I come home from work she jumps into my lap and licks me for a good five to ten minutes, because she’s so excited to see me again. She is very affectionate. If she’s not in “play mode,” she likes to just snuggle up next to you and put her head on your lap and sleep. She loves going for rides and when she’s in the car she’s on my lap snuggling up to me and tries to lick me. I love her. |
