Dog-gone Doggie of the Day for April 4th

Brennan, the Dog of the Day
Name: Brennan
Age: Two years old
Gender: Male Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Home: Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
Brennan is a very special dog that I’ve enjoyed bringing into my life. He hasn’t always had a wonderful life though, and his story started out on the streets. Brennan was thrown out and left to fend for himself when he was a puppy. He was found starved to death and living off of mulch by a compassionate family on the other side of town. He was smart enough to eat what he could find, and I’m sure that’s how he survived as long as he did in his condition.

The family took him in, nursed him back to health, got him vetted, and put him up for adoption. He was on for eight months before I stumbled upon him and immediately fell in love. He joined my life in November of 2010, and is now approximately two years old.

I can’t possibly understand how nobody could want him, because Brennan is nothing but a lovable dork. He loves playing fetch with his favorite green octopus, going for walks, meeting new people and children, and eating everything he thinks is edible, including a couple of shoes and leashes. He is one of the things that brings character and life into my day, and there is nothing more entertaining than coming home to the sweet whimpers and butt wiggles of my goofy boy. He isn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box, but he is mine and I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

Dog-gone Doggie for January 27th

Chance, the Dog of the Day
Name: Chance
Age: Two and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Home: Michigan, USA
This is my amazing dog Chances. He is an American Pit Bull Terrier. Chance is special because he is nothing but a lover. He is 72 pounds and would love nothing more than to sit in your lap all day and be loved. He is a tough pup, he is recovering from surgery after an ACL tear currently. He loves going for runs, swimming, and going to the dog park. I rescued Chance when he was six months old, the previous owner couldn’t handle his separation anxiety. With love and training Chance has become an amazing companion. He knows several tricks including my favorite, play dead, where he throws himself on his back all for paws in the air nothing moving except his tail which is constantly wagging. My dog truly is my best friend.

Chance has the personality of a human. He is so gentle with kids (letting my friends three year old put headbands on him and cuddles with her like the gentle giant he is,) and just wants to love. His favorite thing in the world to do in the summer is to chase sticks in the water. He also loveshis tug of war rope, a household favorite. He does not have a mean bone in his body, but I have no doubt that he would protect me if need be. Chance has an uncanny ability to sense what sort of mood I am in as well. He is such an amazing dog, and I am so lucky to have him.

Dog Gone Doggie of the Day for Sept. 20th

Bella, the Dog of the Day
Name: Bella
Age: Four years old
Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso, Pitbull mix
Home: Levittown, New York, USA
I adopted Bella from the Town of Hempstead animal shelter. She came in as a stray, so nothing is known of her original home. I previously owned an American Staffordshire terrier and was familiar with the bully breed. In my opinion these breeds get a bad rap. Bella is such a joy to have living with us! She loves to play with her squeaky toy and run like a racehorse around our backyard. She also has perfect manners and is very gentle with people. (Don’t let her looks, or her breed’s reputation fool you.) She is a great addition to our family. I am so glad to give Bella another chance at a wonderful life. Bella and I wish more people would consider adopting from their local animal shelter and save a life!

On a personal note from me, Lady A, this is a beautiful dog. Unfortunately the breed has a terrible reputation. My daughter has raised Pit Bulls for years. They are beautiful, loving dogs and it is a shame they have the bad reputation. My daughter and I get in the pen with them and all they want is to be loved and the only attacking they do is with their tongues (they lick you to death, lol!).

Wonderful Tuesday Morn’ To You All!

Top Of The Morning To Ya’ ! Everyone up and at ’em, I hope! I am thrilled because there is a chance of rain. Darn shame too, my wolfie spider and I won’t get to play. For the last two waterings, I haven’t seen any signs of him at all. I figure he has got to enlist recruits. Then they will get me, lol! But that is absolutely scary 5:30 in the morning and have one of them jump on you.

Blew my bonding with the wildcats last night. (I just have to throw this in!) Yesterday afternoon, Kiki would not stop barking to save me. Finally I got over there with her and she was barking because Mama was going into the thicket. Kiki is a very loving pup as long as it isn’t another dog. She was raised with 4 pit bulls. She thinks she is the baddest thing on four paws. Anyway back to last night, I had this huge bug buzz my ear, swatting at it and telling it to go away, did no go. Well the critter flew to the other ear and did the same thing. By this time, if I had a swatter he would have been smashed. Well the last straw, he flew up the back of my hair and was at my neck. That was it. I started screaming, hollering and acting a fool. The cats started growling and a hissing at me. I said, “Screw this s*&t I’m going in.” Well apparently the bug didn’t mind the critters, just didn’t like big fuzzy thing 😦

I feel like I need a little Bugs Bunny to pop through the screen now hollering

“That’s all, Folks!”
