Dog-gone Doggie of the Day for April 6th

Chopper, the Dog of the Day
Name: Chopper
Age: Ten months old
Gender: Male Breed: Boxer
Home: Rhode Island, USA
This is my boxer Chopper also known as Lil Wiggle, Plopper, Chopper Doodle Doo, Dumbo Man, Lil Wiggle Butt, Crazy Dog, Piggy, Lil Piggles, Chop Chop, Trouble and list goes on. I fell in love with this cutie when I first receive a picture of him on my phone. It was the greatest surprise gift of all time. I finally got to meet him few days later on July 12th, 2011 when he was just 10.5 weeks old. He was the cutest puppy I had ever seen.

Chopper is your typical boxer pup. He loves to play all the time. He is either sleeping or playing with his toys, me, or his papa. He is very special to me because he is my first puppy. I definitely baby him all the time. Chopper also has an infinite amount of energy. To help him release some of that energy, we take him for long runs on the beach while we are on our quad. I’m pretty sure he can run 15 mph and more. He is lightning fast. Chopper loves being outside with me. He especially gets super excited when there is snow out. I like to pick him up and drop him in a pile of fresh powder. It’s fun to watch him wiggle out of it in delight. When we aren’t outside playing, we are inside and learning new tricks. He has learned over ten tricks so far. Chopper’s favorite tricks are playing dead and shaking your hand. Other than taking naps at the end of our bed during the day, he also loves to look out our window and watch birds outside.

Chopper Doodle Doo is endless entertainment and fun. He never fails to make me smile and laugh for hours. He is the best friend you could ask for and my life would not be complete without him.

Doggie of the Day for March 31

Callie, the Dog of the Day
Name: Callie
Age: Four months old
Gender: Female Breed: Boxer
Home: Canada
This is Callie, she is my pride and joy. This little boxer baby was born on October 23rd 2011 in Marystown, Newfoundland. Now, let me explain to you where she came from, and why I love her! During my search for my new puppy, I posted an advertisement on the internet explaining that I was looking for a boxer pup. The reason for this, is because I had a boxer before Callie. He meant the world to me, unfortunately I lost him. When I found myself ready to move on and “fill the void” so to speak, I was determined to find the perfect one.

One cold night, in the middle of November, my cell phone rang. I didn’t recognize the number, but I answered it anyway. I was greeted by the cheerful voice of a young woman. She went on to explain that she saw my ad, and she is the proud owner of two pure bred boxer’s, Jerzi and Jax. She told me that Jerzi had recently given birth to eight boxer puppies who were only a few days old. She continued telling me about the puppies, what they looked like, how many were male and female, etc. Personally, I was in search of a brindle, male boxer pup, just like my old one. Unfortunately the only brindle puppies available were all females. I’d never owned a female dog before so I was a bit skeptical. After our long and informative phone conversation, the lady sent me some pictures of each pup. I browsed through them a few times but only one caught my eye. There she was, a days old, feeble, wrinkly, brindle, beautiful. I had never been more in love with a photograph in all my life. I called the lady back the next day and told her I had chosen the puppy I wanted. The biggest, the first born, the most beautiful. She was thrilled with my decision and so was I. I soon after paid the $300.00 deposit, and picked out her name. All there was left to do was wait.

On December 18th 2011, I drove to meet with the lady’s husband to finally own my perfect puppy. I was overwhelmed with excitement I nearly jumped out of the car while I was still driving to my destination! When I finally arrived to the rendezvous, I paid him the rest of the cash, and held her in my arms for the first time. It was cold, windy and snowy, she was cold so I wrapped her in the blanket I bought especially for her. She snuggled into me the whole way home, on my lap. I’d never been so happy to own something in my life. I brought her into my home to show my sister and family and of course, they fell in love.

Callie is the most brilliant puppy I have ever seen. She was easily house trained, she knows quite a few tricks, and gets along famously with my mother’s dog, Max. I know boxers have a ton of energy but Callie is something else! She’ll run laps around the house, prancing and tripping up in her legs at the same time, front flip into her bed and kick and squirm and whine for her own entertainment. well, ours too, its quite the scene. She gets too excited sometimes but can calm down as soon as I say so. Her gorgeous chestnut brown eyes sparkle at me every morning and it just lights up my day! She’s so silly, so cuddly and so beautiful! I would do anything for this little girl, she’s my whole world! The thing I love most about dogs, any dog, is that they will never judge you. They will always love you. You are all they know. They depend on you. It feels good to know you’re the one they look up to. I wouldn’t trade her for the world. ❤

And we can’t forget the Precious Pup of the Day for March 22!

Lacy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Lacy
Age: Three and half months old
Gender: Female Breed: Dog
Home: Houston, Texas, USA
This is Lacy! I adopted her from the Houston SPCA when she was just two months old! I knew she was mine within five minutes of arriving there. She came from an overcrowded home and she loves having my apartment all to herself! Lacy enjoys long walks along the Houston bayou, visits to the dog park, hanging out of my car window, sleeping after visits to the dog park, sitting in buckets of water, chewing bones, getting treats and learning to roll over! She is extremely smart and knows it too! She likes to ignore me when we are training as if to say “Mom seriously? We have done this already!”

She enjoys sleeping in odd spots in the house like under chairs and at the top of the couch. Lacy has lots of energy and is a very independent puppy. Though when she wants to she follows me from room to room in my apartment. She loves to cuddle and sleep at my feet each night as well as let me know when I need to stop doing homework by laying on it. She is a sweet heart in every way and she is my best friend, though she gets into her fair share of messes. Her next trick we are working on is “play dead”. Wish her luck!

So Cute, Dog-gone Puppy of the Day for March 4th

Bojangles, the Dog of the Day
Name: Bojangles
Age: Four and a half months old
Gender: Female Breed: Boxer, Pitbull mix
Home: Concord, New Hampshire, USA
Bojangles is a four and a half month old Boxer, Pitbull mix. She’s roughly three and a half months in the photos. I rescued her at six weeks old. The mother wasn’t producing enough milk and was rejecting her and her sister. She is now an energetic and very very affectionate puppy, and also very well behaved.

She is very outgoing. She loves everybody and loves other animals as well cats and dogs. She is very active and loves to play tug of war the most. She also loves rawhide bones, and she knows sit and lay down very well. And about 70% of the time will shake (but she’s still young). When I come home from work she jumps into my lap and licks me for a good five to ten minutes, because she’s so excited to see me again. She is very affectionate. If she’s not in “play mode,” she likes to just snuggle up next to you and put her head on your lap and sleep. She loves going for rides and when she’s in the car she’s on my lap snuggling up to me and tries to lick me. I love her.
