JANUARY FULL MOON

The very first full moon of the year is known in many cultures as the Full Wolf Moon, which is appropriate given the deep, ancient ties between wolves and January’s full moon. For instance, the Gaelic word for January, Faoilleach, comes from the term for wolves, faol-chù, even though wolves haven’t existed in Scotland for centuries. The Saxon word for January is Wulf-monath, or Wolf Month. Meanwhile, the festival of the Japanese wolf god, Ooguchi Magami, is held in January. The Seneca tribe links the wolf so strongly to the moon, they believe that a wolf gave birth to the moon by singing it into the sky. Just why are wolves so strongly associated with January’s full moon?

The most obvious answer is because wolves are much louder and more noticeable in January, which is when breeding season begins. Wolves begin to howl more frequently and aggressively to establish their territory, threatening neighbors and enemies alike to stay far away from their breeding grounds. A small pack of wolves may even try to make themselves seem like a larger pack by howling together. While a lone wolf can sustain a howl for the duration of a single breath, an entire pack may howl in unison for longer than two minutes during breeding season.

While it makes sense for the haunting howls of wolves to be more memorable during January, how did wolves come to be associated with the full moon itself? Everyone is familiar with the iconic image of a wolf raising its head and howling at the full moon – but do wolves actually sing to the moon? While that might be a romantic idea, there’s no scientific evidence that links wolves to the lunar cycle. Humans may have begun to associate wolves with the moon simpy because they are nocturnal animals that are very active at night. In addition, wolves do raise their heads in the direction of the sky so their howls can travel over far distances to reach their pack mates as they roam. Instead of singing to the moon, they’re actually singing to their friends.

In fact, wolves are so well-known for their tight-knit communities that the Sioux tribe called January’s full moon the Moon Where Wolves Run Together. The wolf is often seen as a symbol of loyalty and protection in many cultures. The Wolf Moon is the perfect time for you to reach out to loved ones and reaffirm your connections, in preparation for deepening your bonds and taking on new challenges together over the upcoming year.

That said, lone wolves are also entirely capable of overcoming hostile conditions on their own with their resourcefulness. According to Celtic mythology, the wolf is infused with lunar power, which refers to its ability to sniff out hidden insights or knowledge, and to detect unexpected sources of danger. In some legends, the wolf even swallows the sun so the wolf can bask in the moon’s overflowing lunar power! The Full Wolf Moon is a great time for you to plan out clever ways to achieve your goals for the upcoming year. Trust your wolfish instincts when it comes to decisions, but also be tenacious in searching for useful knowledge that will help you realize your masterplan.

Humans have a strong affinity for the moon. It’s waxing and waning has formed the basis for calendars across continents and cultures. Almanacs charted full moons so farmers could work by its light. The full moon has been affiliated with harvests, festivals, wolves, and insanity. The very word “lunacy” stems from people’s ideas of mental stability and the moon’s phases. Full moons have captured imaginations across cultures and time, and many cultures have named the various full moons. 2020 is notable in that it will not have twelve full moons, but thirteen. The thirteenth full moon is called a blue moon. About every nineteen years, the opposite occurs, in that February will not have a full moon. This is referred to as a black moon. Each moon of the year has its own name and connotations depending on the season.

January’s full moon is often referred to as the Wolf Moon. It can also be called the Moon after Yule, in reference to the pagan holiday of Yule supplanted by Christmas. The early Catholic Church incorporated pagan holidays into their calendar to help conversion, which is why they coincide with holidays like Yule or solstice celebrations. February’s moon is usually called a Snow Moon since it tends to snow a lot in February. Some Native American tribes call it a Hunger Moon due to scarce food supplies.

March’s full moon is called the Worm Moon to signify the return of earthworms in the winter thaw as the season’s transition. Many names are attributed to March’s moon, such Crow Moon, Sap Moon for maple syrup season, and the old Anglo-Saxon term Lenten Moon. As the name implies, the Lenten Moon is the only full moon to occur during Lent. Continuing the Easter theme, an old Anglo-Saxon term for April’s full moon was Paschal Moon, in reference to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The more common name for April’s moon in modern times is Pink Moon, as pink phlox flowers bloom that month.

Whereas April’s moon is for one flower, May’s full moon is called the Flower Moon to signify the massive bloom following April’s rainfall. The less romantic but more practical Corn Planting Moon is another name. As mentioned earlier, farmers like full moons because they can work under its light if the sky is clear. June is called the Strawberry Moon as that month is the peak of the season. Mead Moon is another name, as fermenting started earlier in the year to produce a proper drink. Continuing the new season’s growth, July is often called Buck Moon because male deer’s antlers start growing around this time. Since July often has many thunderstorms, Thunder Moon is another term for July’s full moon.

August, the last full month of summer, has many names related to food and bounty. The Algonquin tribes called it Sturgeon Moon as the lakes filled with fish. The Anglo-Saxons called it the Grain Moon, and some called it the Barley Moon or Green Corn Moon. The importance of the harvest and it’s relation to the moons grows stronger in the autumn. September’s moon is called the Corn Moon, though the Farmer’s Almanac used to refer to it as the Harvest Moon based on the Anglo-Saxon term.

In modern times, the Harvest Moon is in October, and in fact this happens every three years because the Harvest Moon is based on the equinox, not the calendar. Hunter’s Moon is the term for October’s full moon otherwise, since it’s prime hunting season and the time when northern peoples would stock up on meat for the winter. In 2020, the Blue Moon will occur on Halloween, making it even more extraordinary for moon fans.

To end the year, November is often called the Beaver Moon as beavers tend to be the most active in that month. It can also be called the Frost Moon since frost starts to form at night. If November’s full moon is the last before the winter solstice, it is called the Mourning Moon. Winter is often considered a season of death due to the migration of wildlife and trees bereft of leaves. December is aptly called the Cold Moon since winter starts in that month. The Anglo-Saxons once called the full moon the Moon before Yule, in reference to the holiday occurring around the winter solstice as mentioned before. It can also be called the Oak Moon, though this term can also apply to November. Either way, the history of the full moon’s names is long and spans many cultures and traditions.

December 2019 Ascension Energies – Powerful Love

A message from Jamye Price
Wednesday, 27 November, 2019  (posted 29 November, 2019)

The accompanying video to this article can be found here.

As we come to the end of 2019, I hope you find some time to look back over the year and see your progress toward Freedom. Your inner realm is your sacred space. How you nurture and flow your inner, interacts with the external, shaping the human experience.

Transcending 2019

It has felt like a quickening of the year’s energies (555) this last month. Yet I’m seeing a new patience (releasing the binds of Time) that is emerging, feeling like the collective is more attuned to observing without as much fear. It’s certainly not the only energy out there, but it is developing more readily.

I do a recap of the year’s energies in the video, so here I will just focus on the December energies of Powerful Love. The Light Language in the video was deeply nurturing. In this quarter of Transcending Duality, the focus of your Powerful Love is a balance of your strength and vulnerability.

Your vulnerability keeps you open to experiencing the constant movement of Life.

Vulnerability is your willingness to receive, even at the risk of pain. Meaning, interacting with Life and letting the information permeate your awareness so that as it entwines with you, your Love—your inner freedom—forecasting a new future of Love into the human experience.

Transcending Fear

The current human experience isn’t all rainbows, sometimes it’s the storm that then allows the rainbows to be visible. They were always there, the conditions just weren’t ripe to bring the rainbow into the spectrum of visibility of our physical eyes.

But as that stormy force of nature chaotically stirs change, it is your eye that coalesces the outcome. Not controls, but compels. Resonance responds.

To compel change using the passive force of Love, is more than a force of nature; it is the foundation of nature. Your Powerful Love.

Your vulnerability is your capability to receive Life and allow it into your sacred space. It is within you that your strength, cloaked in vulnerability, is met. The strength to Love, forgive or say no. The strength to feel, choose and create (444). The strength to shine your uniqueness into your world.

Your vulnerability is the key to new strength growing.

In December I was shown the throat and heart chakras unwinding knots. This will open the third eye to another level—the eye of the storm holding its calm patience amidst chaos swirling around it. As the expression of your Love unwinds, spinning your Love out into your world, you are becoming the force of Love that you’ve always been. Vulnerable enough to stay open to information, strong enough to reshape it.

Does the word vulnerable trigger you? It’s understandable if it does, we are often taught (and experience!) vulnerability as a problem, a weakness, an identity of lesser-than. That’s part of the point of this month’s energy of Powerful Love, this quarter’s Transcending Duality—from either/or to and, and this year’s Freedom (I’m not bound, I’m divine and free).

When you are not unduly resisting vulnerability, you are open to your strength growing and blossoming into this world.

Transcending Physicality

Use that third eye, the transcendence of your 2 eyes that “see” the external, and create the triangle of Powerful Love. The triangle, the culmination of 2 into 1, is the strongest form on Earth. That is a strong foundation that culminates into a zenith of new creation. Those 2 eyes must be willing (vulnerable) to see deep within and allow a connection.

Connection is a key of our evolution. Is your Love Powerful enough to transcend fear? You don’t have to swallow it all, just notice how Life is calling you toward more Love, more recognition of the Divine strength that is within you. Are you loving yourself unconditionally in this moment? Are you embracing the perfection of the present, even as you choose change? Are you willing to return to your joy, the emanation of your Powerful Love into this world?

Divine Transcendence

Life knows your capability deeply. It is has given you the Keys to the Kingdom (or the Quees to the Queendom).

This is your world, your Life.

Shape your journey with your Powerful Love, even as life swirls around you. That spin is just information wanting your Love to interact with it. Life touching Life. You were born capable.

Happy December!

A Place to Talk About Whatever You Need or Want to and a Remembrance Ceremony for Lady Abyss

we do not die

We will be doing a Remembrance Ceremony at 7:00 PM CST lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes to honor Lady Abyss. Chat room will open at 6:00 PM CST

What You Need for Remembrance Ceremony

1 – 4 inch White chime candle With Lady of the Abyss craved in to it (you can use a large candle if you want but any size candle needs to safely burn down completely)

1 Candle Holder

1 Piece of Paper size is up to you

Something to write with

Matches or a lighter

A container to put paper in to finish burning safely

Something to put under container so the surface it is sitting on is not damaged.

A laptop, tablet, computer to follow the ceremony on and to talk in the chat room.

Chat room is closed for general talking while we do the ceremony

Remembrance Ceremony

Lady Beltane: I walk this circle with the Lord and Lady to keep our messages to Lady Abyss on a true path to her.

Everyone:  We asked the Goddess to  let Lady Abyss receive our messages of love, honor, and missing her.

We honor Lady Abyss as we light a candle so she knows she brighten each of our lives in some way. We honor her for all she has taught us. We thank Lady Abyss for being friend or mentor or sister or all of these things to each of us.

Take 5 minutes to write whatever you want to, to our beloved Lady.

Everyone: Start burning your paper when you feel heat of the burning paper put it in the container to finish burning. When it is completely burned type in Sol mote it be.

Lady Beltane: Dear sisters and brothers we have honored the end of this life time for Lady Abyss. May we find some peace in knowing she will not feel anymore pain. We also are celebrating her life by sharing our memories of her.

I walk this circle with the Lord and Lady to close this circle. We happily give the energy we raise to Mother Earth to use as she needs it.

This circle is done but through the Goddess we will stay connected. Go in peace and love.

The ceremony is done but the chat room is available for as long as anyone wants to talk.

This Lifetime has Ended for Our Beloved Lady Abyss

The reason I have not heard for Lady Abyss is because she crossed into the Summerlands on June 13, 2019. I do not know what happened to her as she sounded fine when I talk to her on the 12th. How I found out her body died was by coming across her obituary while trying to find a current phone number for her.

I have just chatted  with WordPress on how I can keep this domain name. I just have to try to get a copy of a document about Lady A and have one noterized about myself. I will be working on both this week.

Instead of a regular open chat this coming Saturday I’m going to have a Memorial for Lady Abyss

I will approve people entering the chat room before Saturday/Sunday and check for new people through out the day except for when we are doing the remembrance ceremony.

Everyone is welcome to attend to share stories and/or memories of our wonderful, loving sister and mentor Lady Abyss. I will be in and out of the chat room. For the Northern Hemisphere the Chat room will be open starting on Saturday, November 9th at approximately 4:00 PM CST until everyone is done. For the Southern Hemisphere it will start on Sunday, November 10th at 9:00 AM AEDT. There will be a remembrance ceremony celebrating Lady Abyss’ life, death, and her rebirth in the future at 6:00 PM CT/11:00 AM AEDT. Please have a 4 inch candle with Lady Abyss inscribed into it. If you want to use a larger candle that is fine too. Have a safe place to leave the candle burn when you are awake. Keep relightening until it burns all the way down. If you want to write a note of any kind to her please do that beforehand. After the candle is lit start to burn the piece of paper place it into a fire proof container to finish burning it safely. Take the candle stub any leftover wax from it and put them in the container with the ashes. When everything is completely cooled  down, wrap it all in either gauze or a paper towel and bring to a crossroads. If you can bury in the center of where the roads cross great, if you can not bury it leave the little bundle in the middle of the crossroads.

I will not be doing regular posts or answering mails today/tomorrow or tomorrow/Thursday I need sometime to start coming to terms with my mentor, best friend and sister no longer being in this plane. I only found out yesterday by stumbling over her obituary while looking for something else.On

Time Magazine September 12, 2019

The next full moon is set to make an appearance on the most ominous date on the calendar this month.

A September full moon, also known as a “Harvest Moon,” will be visible to many Americans this Friday the 13th.

According to NASA, the moon will be full early Saturday morning, Sept. 14, at 12:33 a.m. EST, but for those who live in the Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones, the full moon will be visible shortly before midnight on Friday the 13th.

September 2019 Monthly Horoscopes

Aries (Mar. 21 – Apr. 20)

As the September 2019 begins the Moon is passing through fiery Aries. This gives you lots of energy to start new things and express yourself creatively. The bad news is that Mercury has stationed (appears to have stopped moving) in your house of creativity, temporarily frustrating the flow of that energy.

While this won’t last very long at all, it will give you a perspective on how you sometimes use your emotions. This is a great time to learn more about surrender and to synchronize with the timing of the Universe. This will be a very important lesson at mid-month when Sun and Mars (two powerful planets for Aries) conjoin in your sixth house of ambition and life direction. In advance of this period take the time to feel passionately about what you’d like to manifest in your life.

Taurus (Apr. 20 – May 21)

Venus is the ruler of your Sun sign and therefore a powerful planet for you this month. As the month begins she is located alongside Saturn in your third house. This will be an important time for third house matters particularly communication, writing and business.

Saturn’s placement here allows us to look at motivation in these areas. What would you like to communicate or accomplish? Where do you hold back in these areas and how can you change that? Venus will enter your fourth house of home and nurturing on the 7th and remain there until October 4th.

Use this period for home improvement and getting closer with the family. Give special attention to the children. The energies of romance and creativity are in the air.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun. 21)

Emphasis this month is on fourth house affairs: home, family and your emotional self. Things may feel just a bit overwhelming in the first half of the month. Challenges appear on the 9th as karma revealing Pluto in your house of relationship squares Mars in the fourth house.

The Sun and Mars conjunct in your fourth house on September 14th providing an opportunity for breakthrough or meltdown. This is a time to nurture yourself, sort out relationship needs sensitively and be with the family. There may be deeper, nagging questions about career and life direction that are at the heart of your frustration.

What do you need in this regard? It’s time to be really honest with yourself so you can achieve the fulfillment you deserve.

Cancer (Jun. 21 – Jul. 22)

Saturn’s “Who am I?” transit of your Sun sign gets an energetic, creative bounce from the Sun, Mars and Jupiter moving through your third house of mind, communication and business. Your mind is fertile and active and can help you out of a creative rut.

The enlightenments or attitude adjustments near the 9th can be turned into action in the second half of the month. September offers great opportunities to make new friends, promote yourself, advertise your business or create an internet presence.

Leo (Jul. 22 – Aug. 22)

You feel creatively fertile, ready to give birth to some new talent or aspect of who you are. This is a good time for precisely that as doors are opening in your job or your career field. Don’t let your anxiousness get the best of you early in the month.

Pay close attention to family and home needs so that they receive appropriate and conscious attention. Finances should be doing well but avoid increasing your debt load without due consideration. Better to save up for bigger and better things ahead.

Virgo (Aug. 22 – Sept. 22)

Happy Birthday! What a powerful month astrologically! The planets that rule the three fire signs are all transiting through Virgo near your natal Sun. Also, Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, enters your sign on the 10th. Finally, a New Moon, auspicious for new beginnings, takes place on the 14th, conjunct benevolent, expansive Jupiter. This will be a good test for you. You are burning with inspiration, ambition and likely yearning for a new sense of direction.

It’s time to re-balance that rational, analytical part of you with your feeling, heart and passion for life. It simply won’t suffice to plan things out in your usual methodical manner. You are going to have to feel this energy of possibility palpably with your body.

It is a resonance, a frequency of vibration, which you have to nurse, nurture and grow. Feel the power of your passion for life. Your passion represents your sense of Knowing and Truth about who you are and why you are here. The ‘plan’ you are always needing will reveal itself. Trust yourself and the Universe. Being in control is vastly overrated. Jupiter leaves Virgo on the 24th and won’t return until 2015 so seize the day!

Libra (Sept. 22 – Oct. 22)

Venus and Saturn, Libra’s two biggest planetary allies, begin the month conjunct one another in your house of career, status and responsibility. This suggests that the energies of change in these areas – energies set in motion last February and March – are moving toward resolution in the next six to eight weeks.

Use this time to ‘lighten up’ with your sense of over-responsibility. If you can’t love your work, then try to work with love. Take the pressure off of yourself wherever you can. Do things around the home to make you feel more cozy and special. Your perceptions of yourself and what you value are changing. Enjoy the ride. Finances can show improvement at the end of the month just in time to buy yourself the birthday present you really deserve.

Scorpio (Oct. 22 – Nov. 21)

You may find the first days of September 2019 a bit like slogging through mud that’s up to your hips. Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, and Mercury have just switched from retrograde to direct motion. Use the first week in September to inventory and integrate Pluto’s second house lessons (talents, self-esteem and what you value) which came in during the April to August period of retrogradation. By the 11th your focus will have shifted to eleventh house affairs where Sun, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter will be congregating.

The eleventh house is the house of friends, networking, promoting oneself, ones’s ideal, long-term goals and money generated from career. There is lots of energy available so pay particular attention to these areas of your life. Get a good grasp on your idealism and expectations so you don’t torpedo the potentially powerful results. You simply can not change other people. Change the lens through which you view them by adjusting your beliefs about yourself. There is a big ‘ah ha’ to be found in reading or studying higher teachings that you are drawn to.

Sagittarius (Nov. 21 – Dec. 21)

Your usual optimism may be a bit challenged when the month begins as Chiron, Neptune and Uranus – all retrograde – are lined up in your second, third and fourth houses which represent your fundamental values, thoughts, beliefs and feelings.

There are some deep issues percolating which require your awareness. Your inspiration and motivation will be piqued soon enough, however. On September 14th there is a New Moon taking place conjunct transiting Jupiter who is the powerful ruler of your Sun sign. On the 15th Sun and Mars are conjunct.

These two potent events both take place in your tenth house of career, status and responsibility. The portal is open if you would like to do some healing or service-related work. This is the time for you to dream things as they could be and say ‘Why not?’

Capricorn (Dec. 21 – Jan. 20)

The Moon in fiery Aries provides motivation at the beginning of the month and pulls us out of the disorienting effects of Mercury, Chiron, Uranus and Neptune retrograde. A lot of energy can be focused on relationship opportunity.

That can mean a chance for romance for those who are actively seeking. For others it signifies focusing on existing relationships and what they are telling you. Don’t overlook the lessons here. You would do well to be more honest about what you need and your vision for the two of you.

Your thoughts would be welcomed. Opportunities for creative expression are at a peak this month. Let your creative talents fly. There is also a great deal of inspiration to be gained from ninth house affairs, travel or higher teachings. Visit your teacher, take a workshop or read a book that will help you to shift your perception.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 19)

Saturn’s transit of your sixth house has you focusing a lot these days on your goals and life direction. Even though the last few weeks have made things as clear as mud, don’t sweat it. The transformative power of the Sun, Mars and Jupiter in your eighth house of change may be very revealing.

The 14th and 15th will crystallize many things for you. Consider pending possibilities carefully. If you are the overly idealistic ivory tower type of Aquarius, it is time to get your heart and feelings out of cold storage! You are a great catalytic agent for change and reform so don’t keep it to yourself. Synergy is the secret to being a happy Water Bearer.

Give the healing waters of the gods away to whomever will receive from you and you will be always happy. The 24th and 25th are green light days for you to take action.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – Mar. 21)

Saturn transits through the later degrees of your house of creative self-expression. Your creative energies are looking for just the right avenue for expression. Don’t rush the process; take your time to find what feels right for you. Saturn tells you to go within and find the muse or motivation that suits the new you. Transiting Sun, Mars and Jupiter oppose your natal Sun making relationships fertile ground for challenges, especially mid-September 2019.

There are likely some matters that have been left hanging that require discussion. Clarify with your partner what works for you and what does not and what is negotiable. You have let the ball be in ‘their’ court long enough this lifetime. If you feel in a rut socially, some new, stimulating, supportive friendships may be in order. You are flexing your spiritual muscles now. Have faith in yourself.

From September 2019 Horoscopes

The Witches Almanac – Autumn

SEPTEMBER 2019. September is the culling season for many biological systems, with naturally variant physical systems initiating those processes. Land-falling hurricanes, which most frequently occur during September, thin woodlands and allow new growth to take seed. Such storms are more common during low solar cycles, now occurring as land areas cool more quickly than oceans, increasing wind speeds as hurricanes advance over land. Similarly, heat from forest fires are a necessary part of a cycle that clears aged tree growth and releases “naked seeds” on pine cones that begin forests anew. In fact, heat that leads to new gene expression extends to humans and all mammals, as the cold and flu season peaks in September and October, a time when the rate of solar decline is greatest along with decreases of vitamin D creation and its influence on the endocrine systems. Inflammation in general and related chronic conditions are most evident during the low point in 11-year solar cycles.

OCTOBER 2019. The frequency of our planet’s volcanic activity is part of natural cycle that regulates global temperatures. It is also part of a sequence of events that spreads new and natural soil across growth areas, setting the stage for renewed vegetation growth after the Fall culling season. Not only does volcanic activity correlate with the cyclical low in 11-solar cycles but they tend to occur during the greatest rate of decline in annual solar output, during Fall. Such an occurrence also hastens a drop in global temperatures in October as the amount of atmospheric moisture drops. This is the driest month of the year with rainfall generally confined to the Pacific Northwest, Florida and the Gulf Coast. Fire remains a presence in Southern California, paradoxically because of a robust growing season from Spring rains—another representation of the inverted repetition within nature.

NOVEMBER 2019. Fiery sunsets will signal the afterglow of any global volcanic ash distribution at high altitudes. This should be a welcome sight as it indicates a kind of natural fertilizer for the growing season on the other side of Winter. In fact, this can be an opportunity to spread seed after bird migration and just before the snowfall and work with a gift from nature! Snowfall provides nitrogen in a natural way and with a perfectly even distribution. Both can arrive early this year as a 17-year tendency for increasing snowfalls persists. The first cool fronts of the year advance through Florida with beautiful weather underway there.

New Moon In Virgo August

*NEW MOON* in VIRGO
August 30th 2019   3:37 am PDT |
11:37 am BST | 9:37 PM AEDT
*NEW MOON* in Virgo brings forth healing, calling for purification so love can flow through.
We are in an age of healing ourselves and our planet, and that means awakening our collective mindset to a vibrational and energetic understanding of our universe.
We are each called to task and it begins in our body.
Her body is our body. We are not separate from Her.
Our task is to feel, work through and release all that blocks love from freely flowing through us.
We have so much collective grief and trauma that we carry in our root chakras and in our womb centers.
As we work with loving awareness to release the fear, the rage and the grief, we will begin to feel the regeneration and flow of our Life Force as it activates our creative powers.
Virgo reminds us that through our Earthly embodiment, we become the Chalice.
She teaches us to ground into our Earth and offers her intuitive and discerning gifts to help us sort and map what is needed and what will serve the whole.
Her way is one of love, of caring and compassion for all living things.
