This week Mars moves into Scorpio for the next six weeks, making everyone more intense and bolder. (Last time this happened was Nov./Dec. 2021.) Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Solar eclipse in Libra will be our best chance all year to make resolutions about how to improve our closest relationships. How can we get better at negotiating? How can we make peace with someone? The aim is to create more harmony in our lives. Speaking of creating more harmony in our world, Marie Kondo a Libra, says, “The trick is to choose what to keep, not what to throw out.” That’s her secret. I’ve also heard: “Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions.” (I don’t have time to think about that. Off to do my walking lunges.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)

The trick to navigating this week is to make it to Wednesday. This is because Monday and Tuesday are downright grumpy and prone to arguments with coworkers and customers. Things might also be dicey dealing with pets or pet-related situations. Even something related to your health might provoke an argument. Perhaps someone will nag you about unhealthy habits? (Grrr.) Or perhaps you will feel frustrated with healthcare people who are trying to help you. By Wednesday, all is good. Relief! Your sex drive is strong. Relations with partners and close friends are great. It will be a particularly good time to negotiate issues about inheritances, taxes, debt and shared property – including insurance matters. You’re on it!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

The first few days of this week are challenging, especially dealing with kids. With younger kids, be skilful at handling hissy fits and meltdowns. With older kids, be patient, tolerant and reasonable. Resist the temptation to take control and win a power struggle. “It’s my way or the highway.” If your kids are in their 20s, now is the time for them to move out while they know everything. Likewise, romance will be in the toilet for the first two days — arguments and hurt feelings. By Wednesday, the clouds blow away and everything is hunky-dory! Go figure. You will be productive at work, in fact, get ready to roll up your sleeves and be hands-on. Fun-filled invitations to sports events and social outings will delight. Gemini (May 21-June 20)

The first two days of this week are downright grumpy, especially with family members, parents, bosses and authority figures. Issues will irk you. (It’s hard to keep your shirt on when you want to get something off your chest.) Be encouraged by the knowledge that when you make it to Wednesday, the rest of the week is smooth sailing. Enjoy entertaining at home this week. It’s a particularly fun-filled week with opportunities to socialize, enjoy Happy Hour, sports events and fun outings. Romance will flourish. Nevertheless, you’ll be productive and get a lot done because you have the energy and drive to work hard. Therefore, be patient on Monday and Tuesday. Hey, that’s just 48 hours.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Be careful for the first two days of this week because this is when there is a mildly accident-prone time for you. Accidents don’t have to happen during this window but you might be distracted because you’re irritated with someone; and once you’re angry or grumpy, you automatically create a bubble that is just waiting for an accident to happen. The simple solution is to keep your cool and be patient because by Wednesday, you’re laughing! Then you enter into a new realm where life will flow more easily, everything will be more easy-going and people will be happy to see your face. Home entertainment, family discussions plus home improvements will be positive choices later in the week. Competitive sports will appeal.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Tiptoe through the tulips until Wednesday this week because financial arguments or disappointments about purchases, possessions or money arrangements might be one reason why you find yourself at odds with someone else. It’s a grumpy time! But lo! What news from yonder modem breaks? Ah ha! Confirmation that from Wednesday onwards, the rest of the week is grand. Short trips, appointments, errands and discussions with others will be upbeat. You’ll put out extra energy at home to create order out of chaos. Furthermore, you will make a great impression on others because people will see you as a winner! (It’s important to look good at a distance.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Hold your breath for the first two days this week because this will be a challenging window of time for you to relate to others, especially those who are closest to you. (However, authority figures might be prickly, too.) The secret is to make it until Wednesday because from then on, it’s a pleasant, productive week. You’ll have excellent moneymaking ideas; and you’ll be convincing if you need others to jump on board. You will also be able to influence others. You can teach them or encourage them to be the best they can be. Continue to look for travel opportunities, as well as ways to get further education because this is a fabulous year for you to expand your world. You’re going places!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Difficulties with work colleagues and authority figures might occur at the beginning of the week. Likewise, hidden love affairs and issues related to your health might also create some angst. But this is simply for Monday and Tuesday because by Wednesday, things improve remarkably and the rest of the week is smooth sailing. Meanwhile, you’re strong right now because both the Sun and Mercury are in your sign. Make sure you don’t throw your weight around, especially at the beginning of the week. (Not really your style.) You will be wise and careful with financial decisions this week. In fact, with everything that you do, you will be focused and cautious. You want to be prudent. You will ask yourself, “How useful is this? Or “What good is it?”

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Be patient with friends at the beginning of the week on Monday and Tuesday because this is when you will feel stressed dealing with others. They might be critical. You might feel isolated or left out. (It could be anything.) Do not take this seriously because by Wednesday, the clouds will disappear. In fact, this will be a wonderfully productive week for you because Mars is now in your sign, dancing with stern Saturn, which makes you disciplined, controlled, cautious and careful. (A bit like a Sherman tank.) Obviously, this will lead to excellent productivity and accomplishments. You’ll be like the wise carpenter: “Measure twice, cut once.”

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

On Monday and Tuesday this week, be patient when dealing with parents, bosses and the police because there will be challenges. This is a very poor time to ask for permission or approval. (“Talk to the hand!”) Ideally, give authority figures a wide berth at the beginning of the week because your interactions with them will be frustrating, and possibly, regrettable. By Wednesday, your popularity shines and time spent with younger people will be rejuvenating. Meanwhile, you might do something behind the scenes to strengthen family relationships or to work on needed repairs at home.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

The key to your survival at the beginning of this week is to avoid controversial subjects, especially religion and politics. This is because Monday and Tuesday are challenging days! Aries (March 21-April 19)

For the most part, this is a carefree, playful week for you. Get out and enjoy yourself! However, this week also holds an opportunity that arrives only once a year, and that is you will have more objectivity to see your closest relationships, specifically, to see your own style in these relationships. This year is a sneak preview of coming attractions because Pluto was in Aquarius for three months — stirring up transformative energy about collective rights. (What we see now is the tip of the iceberg for the next 20 years.) The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was 1778-1798, when the citizens of Paris, desperate from poverty and the disparity between the poor and the very rich revolted and Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI were beheaded. Pluto is about destruction and rebirth. For the last 15 years, Pluto was in Capricorn (governments, status and political correctness). Mercury retrograde is technically over, but its shadow continues until the end of the month. This particular Mercury retrograde got me. Among other goofs, last week I referred to September’s New Moon as a Solar eclipse, when in fact, it’s October’s New Moon that is a Solar eclipse. Oy! Many well-meaning readers were quick to point out this mistake. Yes, I was chagrined, but I was also encouraged to know people are reading me. That’s why, this week, I intend to carefully proofread this column to see if you any words out.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

An element of confusion and discouragement is present this week, which means you have to tread carefully and pick and choose what and whom you want to believe. Be discerning. Someone might try to trick you. Nevertheless, powerful forces are at work that will allow you to improve your health, and be productive at work. This week the Sun moves opposite your sign, to stay for four weeks, which happens once a year, six months after your birthday. You might encounter opposition from others, especially authority figures. Some issues are reaching a culmination, which means you will see if they’re working or not. Respect your need for more sleep in the next few weeks.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Romance might confuse and disappoint this week. Parents should protect their kids against accidents with chemicals or food poisoning. Artists and sports types might restructure things to make improvements. Meanwhile, the Sun changes signs this week ushering in a four-week window where you will work hard. Someone I talked to recently was surprised that countries have charts just like people (based on incorporation dates). So, I thought I would share a bit about Canada this week. Canada is a Cancer country (July 1); and eight of its provinces are also Cancer: BC, Man., Ont., Que., P.E.I., N.B., N.S. and N.W.T. Two provinces are Virgo — Alta. and Sask; however, they’re Cancer Rising! This leaves Newfoundland and Nunavut (both Aries) and the Yukon, which is Gemini. This predominance of Cancer qualities gives values of caring and nurturing to Canada. For example. Cancer “rules” the nursing profession, so, small wonder Canada has free medical for its citizens. This is also why Canada has a nice guy image in the world. Comedians even joke about how polite we are. “How do you get 50 Canadians out of the pool?” Answer: “Please get out of the pool.” Eh?

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This back-to-school vibe really has you in its grip because you’re determined to work hard and be productive. Because of this strong motivation, you’ll be successful! Many of you will figure out ways to boost your earnings or make money on the side. Some of you might find better paying jobs. Admittedly, Mercury retrograde will create delays and snafus related to your work, your health and even your pet. Each Mercury retrograde is in a different sign, so it affects us differently. Some people glide through one, while others are white knuckling it all the way. (This is a vicious one for me.) Mercury will be retrograde until Sept. 15; so, if you’re buying cars, trucks, computers or cell phones, be smart and wait until the shadow is over on Oct. 1. (I’m waiting until then to buy a laptop.) Meanwhile, the Sun is now in Virgo, which means we all want to pull our act together, get organized, eat healthier, drink less booze and exercise. (At least, jog for 10 seconds in front of the fridge.) Ah yes, amateurs only gain weight in the holidays. Professionals gain weight the entire year.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

You have that back-to-school feeling that you have to buckle down, get to work and get organized. “I’m on it!” As I mentioned in All Signs above, you will also be eager to improve your health. When it comes to improving ourselves, it’s generally easier to stop a bad habit then to begin a new healthy one. But maybe you can do both? The effects of Mercury retrograde are beginning, which is why I sit here with my phone to my ear, listening to Muzak, waiting to talk to someone in another country about online banking problems. (Mercury is retrograde from Aug. 23 to Sept. 15. But it slows down before and after, hence my recommended “buffer dates”: Aug. 10 to Sept. 30.) Meanwhile, I’m often asked, “Can I buy an appliance in Mercury retrograde?” The answer is YES. The items to avoid buying are “Mercury related things” i.e. anything that moves forward or promotes communication. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, bikes, printers, cell phones, computers. Mercury retrograde also invariably reminds us of the past — embarrassing moments and those awkward dates. You might even hear a distant voice: “In the vessel with the pestle is the brew that is true.”

Aries (March 21-April 19)
