Daily Feng Shui News for July 22 – 'Sunflowers'

This is a month where sunflowers are growing in abundance as they slant their golden visages up to the shining sun. Ancient lore tells that if you take one seed from the center of a sunflower, make a wish upon it and then eat it, your wish will come true. Now you can grow your dreams and make them shine too.

Feng Shui News for July 17th – 'Yellow Pig Day'

It’s ‘Yellow Pig Day’ and although it doesn’t really matter what color they are, pigs play a big role in symbolic Feng Shui. The pig signifies sufficient food, material joy, prosperity, fertility and success in all affairs. In some cultures, having some symbol of a mother pig in the home assures wealth and abundance for the entire family. Place an image of the Feng Shui Fortune Pig in the ‘Wealth’ area of your living space in order to activate fat stacks and lots of money luck.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for February 18th – ‘Pluto Day’

Even though astronomers no longer recognize it as a planet, on this ‘Pluto Day’ we will delve into ways to use Plutonian energies for your highest good. Pluto rules all things related to the underworld, grief, and death but also strives to bring people together who have suffered a seemingly irreparable rift. If you would like to forgive or be forgiven by someone you simply cannot reach out to, then try the following exercise. Go to any room and get quiet before lighting a candle. Summon this person’s Highest Self or spiritual oversoul/supervisor and in your imagination have the conversation that you wish you could have with them in person. Keep your heart open and compassionate. After this imaginary encounter has ended remain open to the fact that the other person has indeed felt your intentions and energies. And then don’t be surprised if you hear from them in some way or another.

Feng Shui Tip for Sunday, Feb. 17th – ‘World Human Spirit Day’

It’s seems fitting on ‘World Human Spirit Day’ that I share a powerful way to energize your spirit. Both Feng Shui and vibrational healers agree that the healing color of green can cleanse and rejuvenate your Chi while raising your spirits as well. Close your eyes and imagine your entire body surrounded by a ball of clear green light. As you inhale, breathe in this light and visualize it circulating all throughout your body. When you breathe out, exhale toxins, imbalances and impurities along with anger, rage and fear. Repeat this exercise six times to make your spirit refreshed, revivified and restored. The ripple effect guarantees that you will uplift the entire world.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Feb. 14th – ‘Happy Valentine’s Day and World Marriage Day!’

Happy Valentine’s Day and World Marriage Day! Whether you’ve recently entered a new relationship, are currently in one or hoping to find the perfect partner, you can change your love life by changing your sheets. Feng Shui considers red to be a powerful and auspicious color that will add sizzle, passion, heat and a new mate (if that’s something you’re hoping for). Just be sure not to use them every day as all that sexual energy will make it hard to get some sleep.

Feng Shui Tip for February 13th – ‘Eve of Valentine’s Day’

On this eve of Valentine’s Day it’s only appropriate that tonight’s energies center around dreaming of your sweetie. So here’s a time-tested way of finding out exactly who that sweetie might be. Pick a sprig of fresh rosemary and infuse it with the intention of finding out the name of your intended. Place the herb under your pillow and before slipping off to sleep think about seeing your love in your dreams. Whenever you wake be sure to recall the players who pepper your dream state and know that one of them is getting ready to spice up your love life. That name will come to you if you relax and let it. And then remember that a rose(mary) by any other name will smell just as sweet!

Feng Shui News for Feb. 12 – ‘Extraterrestrial Visitor Day’ and ‘Extraterrestrial Culture Day’

When I saw that today is both ‘Extraterrestrial Visitor Day’ and ‘Extraterrestrial Culture Day’ I immediately thought of one of modern culture’s most famous taglines: ‘E.T. phone home.’ That thought prompts me to share this Feng Shui ‘Phone Cure.’ If you want your telephone to ring with new clients and opportunities, place your phone on a round or octagonal mirror that is sitting on a piece of red cloth the same shape and size as the mirror. Then place symbols of the twelve Chinese zodiac animals in a circular design underneath the phone. Leave the phone sitting on this ‘cure’ for at least three consecutive hours in order to recharge it with good fortune. Don’t ask for whom that bell tolls, it tolls for you!

Feng Shui Tip for February 11th – ‘Clean Out Your Computer Day’

According to Feng Shui, clutter is the enemy, and not just those musty old objects you’ve been collecting for years. Cyber clutter can be just as chaotic and damaging to the flow of good Chi, so on this ‘Clean Out Your Computer Day’ I encourage you to do just that. Clear out or answer old email before deleting or filing them away. Remove old files that are taking up space and literally clean the computer equipment itself. Lastly, position or hang a clear quartz crystal somewhere in the vicinity of the computer and see how quickly clarity and clear-headed thinking come back to rule the day.

Daily Feng Shui News for Feb. 10th – ‘Chinese New Year’

It’s both my birthday and the start of the Chinese New Year, so you know there’s going to be a celebration tonight! Part of that party will be a traditional grand New Year’s feast including salmon (for longevity and intelligence), cabbage (for financial fortune and riches) and mandarin oranges (for good health) eaten to bring good luck all the next year! No meat is eaten on New Year’s Day out of respect for animals and knives or sharp instrument are not used lest we cut our good fortunes in half. Wishes (birthday or New Year) are always made on this day as well. Write your wish on a piece of paper with a red pen and place it inside a red envelope. Burn the envelope to seal your resolution and make it permanent. These special day smoke signals bring big and rewarding results! So if you got ’em, light ’em, and Happy New Year!

Feng Shui News for February 7th – ‘Wave All Your Fingers At Your Neighbors Day’

Today is ‘Wave All Your Fingers At Your Neighbors Day.’ But what if there’s one finger in particular that you want to wave at them because they won’t quiet down? Looks like it’s time for Neighbor Shui! If you’re having difficulties with a neighbor, this philosophy says to hang a convex mirror on the same side of the house as the annoying neighbor so that any negativity will bounce back to them. A Feng Shui bagua mirror will do the trick, as will hanging a metal wind chime with solid rods. Good fences might make good neighbors but mirrors can make even better ones. Whatever cure you put in place, remove it when the animosity or the neighbor disappears.

Feng Shui Tip for February 6th – “Digital Learning Day”

In this world of pads and apps it makes sense that we would celebrate ‘Digital Learning Day.’ But when trying to educate yourself about anything, energizing the ‘Knowledge/Cultivation’ area of your main floor or bedroom is very important. Looking into the room from the main entryway, put a bell in the upper left hand corner. Feng Shui believes bells can symbolize ideas, clarity and mental acuity. Positioned in this arena, the bell also allows you to cope with changes and be optimistic about new projects, however you choose to learn them.

Feng Shui For The Day, Feb. 5th: “First Thing In The Mornings”

Are you looking for love in all the right places, including your very own bedroom? If you’re intent on finding the perfect partner it’s important that you represent that same desire in the space that you will both eventually sleep in. It’s also important for you to remove all reminders of failed relationships and replace them with symbols that show your commitment to finding your new true love. Remember that whatever you see first thing upon awakening each day influences the energies that come your way, so put a picture of a loving couple in your line of sight. Soon enough you will roll over and see your other half. For real.

Feng Shui News for February 4th – ‘World Cancer Day’

The energy surrounding ‘World Cancer Day’ prompts me to share information from my most honorable Feng Shui teacher, Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun, and his effective adjustment for healing from this insidious disease. Master Lin Yun also shares that this treatment should only be used to augment and reinforce appropriate medical interventions that address this disease. He recommends that the patient look upon an image containing the Feng Shui ‘Six True Colors’ (white, red, yellow, green, blue and black — in that exact order) so they can then transmit this healing color sequence to all afflicted cells. This coloring outside the lines of mainstream allopathic medicine can be powerfully effective and empowering.

Today’s Feng Shui for Jan. 31st – ‘Inspire Your Heart With Art Day’

As we sit on the cusp of February, how apropos that today is called ‘Inspire Your Heart With Art Day.’ Feng Shui says that if you’re looking for love you should display a painting of a woman playing the lute in the love space of your bedroom. According to Eastern traditions, the sound of the lute is believed to express the bliss of marriage as well as the deep and abiding friendship between man and wife. Purity and moderation are both invoked by this instrument’s sweet sounds and so it came to be associated as a symbol for harmony and happiness in family life. In more modern times, the flute has come to be regarded as equally auspicious when attracting the perfect partner, so displaying any artwork with a woman playing that woodwind will work. If you’ve been waiting for a mate, this tip should be music to your ears.

Daily Feng Shui News for Jan. 24 – ‘National Compliment Day’

Today’s ‘National Compliment Day’ recipe will have them eating right out of your hands, or, more appropriately, drinking a magically complimentary elixir from your kitchen. This next recipe comes from ancient Indian texts and tells how we can say or think the sweetest things, and how we can get someone else do the exact same. You need a small amount of saffron, almonds and milk. Mix sliced almonds and some of the saffron together and then boil that in milk. The lore surrounding this secret recipe says that whoever drinks this will then be blessed and think only sweet thoughts and say only sweet words. This legend continues that drinking this mixture will also allow anyone imbibing to expel their anger and forget their woes. Got milk? I hope so.

Daily Feng Shui Tip forJanuary 23 – ‘National Pie Day’

Here’s an interesting fact worth sharing on today’s ‘National Pie Day.’ Did you know that at one time pies were illegal? Englishman Oliver Cromwell banned all pies in the Commonwealth because he believed them to harbor mystical and magical energies. According to ancient lore, he might have been right. These legends say that round pies induce a connection to spirits while square pies promote prosperity. Pies topped with intricate latticework induce protective energies while apple pie offer healing and peace. And who doesn’t love a good peace of pie?

Daily Feng Shui Tip for Jan. 21 – ‘Dr. Martin Luther King’

Today commemorates the birth date of a modern day martyr, Dr. Martin Luther King. I am forever grateful to Dr. King as I remember the way he attempted to impact people who have long killed the messenger without trying to understand the message. This most special day remembers the birth of the man who dedicated his entire life promoting a message of equality, truth and fairness. Let each of us today promote peace in our own way. One of the ways we can do that is to invite peace into our lives, starting with what should be a most peaceful sanctuary, the bedroom. Using any shade of blue or green in that space is believed to heal both the spirit and the soul. From the paint on the walls to the accessories all around, try a splash of blue. And then go green. Heal you. Heal the planet. In honor of someone who tried to do exactly that. Happy birthday, Dr. King. I share your dream.

Daily Feng Shui Tip for January 15th – ‘Random Act of Kindness’

Today let’s all commit a random act of kindness. You could pay the toll for the car behind you or leave a coffee on a co-workers desk without letting them know. Then do something in your own space that will affect a shift towards planetary peace and harmony. Place a new and healthy green plant in the center of your living space. This plant will facilitate personal healing on every conceivable level. Eastern philosophy says that whenever you intentionally improve your own living space a reciprocal ripple effect will then energetically improve the entire globe. So just one special little symbol placed anywhere inside your space can have a huge and beautiful impact on the entire world!
