Eight/8 of Wands – Minor Arcana

I. The meaning of the Eight of Wands Shadowscapes Tarot

Step by step, she leaned against the wand and walked forward. Spheres of light were gliding in waves on either side of the road. Suddenly, she remembered having a childhood friend, sending her dreams into the dandelion and then and blowing every pistil into the wind. They conceived that the further the pistil flies away, the greater the chance for dreams to come true.

Thinking of that, she smiled slightly, bent down to pick up a bunch of dandelions. Taking a deep breath, she blew the pistils hard and left them free to drift into the wind. But this also means the death of a flower that is blooming brightly, the sphere with its exquisite beauty, is also the beginning of a new life.

The spinning pistils danced with the wild breeze, immersed in the bliss of freedom. Being blessed with a fragile appearance like spider silk, they easily carry out their function, flying farther, and then in a moment, falling down and shoot the roots into a complete tree.

Similarly, the Eight of Wands Shadowscapes Tarot is about the beginning of a long journey towards a certain goal. There is a great promise that everything is under control, along with the speed of quickly gaining rewards.

Number eight talks about structure while Wands are the raw energy. Thus, the structure of it creates a path for the energy flow. You are very sure about your goals and all the distractions have been removed. You can devote yourself to your work with full concentration, determination, and willpower. This is very good, allowing you to do a lot of things in a short time.

Keywords related to the Eight of Wands Shadowscapes Tarot: progress smoothly and quickly, activity, movement, urgency, excitement, delusions, acceleration, communication, news, journey, holiday, movement, productivity, unexpected things, archery, athletic ability.

Rune

From The Rune Site – Anglo-Saxon and Frisian Runes

Yr

Sound: “y” as in “yoga”
Stands for: Bow made from a Yew Tree
Casting meaning: Yr symbolizes the perfect combination of skills and knowledge applied to materials taken from nature. This rune lets us know when we are in the “right spot” for a situation, and is good to use when looking for lost objects

Witches Rune

From OtherWorldlyOracle.com – Witches Runes

 Eye

Third eye, seeing the truth, clairvoyance, someone’s watching, the evil eye and protection

This rune is my favorite. The all-seeing eye. It represents seeing things unseen, also seeing the beauty in things others don’t. Can also be a warning of the evil eye or someone watching you. Or perhaps a reminder to open your eyes to a situation you’ve been blindly ignoring.

I Ching

Hexagram Twenty – Three/23

Po / Splitting Apart

The weight of the Mountain presses down upon a weak foundation of Earth:
The Superior Person will use this time of oppression to attend to the needs of those less fortunate.

Any action would be ill-timed.
Stand fast.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

This is a situation easily mistaken for Stagnation (Hexagram 12) or Revolution (Hexagram 49).
It just depends on which side you’re on.
During a time of Stagnation, human worms invade to feed on the decay.
During a time of Revolution, oppression is being overthrown.
But in this situation, oppressors are violently seizing power.
Pay special heed when you receive this hexagram, because the oracle is often warning you of a situation of which you are totally unaware.
You are about to be blindsided.

Yin/Yang

From moonlitpriestess.com

Yang:

Male, day, light, hot, spirals outward, God, summer; equal and opposite of Yin.

Yin:

Female, night, dark, cold, spirals inward, Goddess, winter; equal and opposite of Yang.

Yin-Yang:

A symbol often used to express polarity and equality; reinforces the idea that one cannot exist without the other (Yin contains Yang; Yang contains Yin).

From IChingOnline.net

The Yin/Yang symbol, also known as “t’ai chi t’u”, has played a vital role in Chinese thought. The dark side (yin, feminine) has within it a spot of light indicating that in all negativity there is a seed of the positive light force, or “good”. The light side (yang, masculine) has a dark spot indicating that within positivity/good there is potential for negativity/evil.

A Thought for Today

At times we all have negative thoughts about or say negative things to someone else. I know it is hard from personal experience to try to bite your tongue or make a negative thought into a positive one but when I do this, and I hope you will try to do these two things I feel better. Having positive thoughts and saying positive things helps keep dark nasty entities away, helps to keep your chakras and auras clear. Which leads to better health and our outlook on life as a whole!

Until we meet again dear sisters, brothers, and honored guests may your life be filled with all things positive!

Aries (March 21-April 19)

This is a powerful day for you, and an excellent way to begin your week. You might decide to be more low-key and enjoy your own solitude. If you spend time with others, your choice will be to seek out older or more serious people. Someone might have advice for you today.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Solitude in beautiful surroundings will appeal to you today because you feel the need for peace and quiet. This is a good day for serious discussions with bosses, parents and VIPs, especially about future plans and career options. This is a playful time for you; nevertheless, today is more serious.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You have lots of energy to give to home projects and redecorating. You might also entertain this week. Today a conversation with someone older or more experienced might benefit you. Perhaps this person has good advice for you? (It never hurts to listen.)

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Today you are high viz., which means people notice you more than usual. Fortunately, you will make a strong impression on others because you look conscientious, conservative, and reliable. People in authority will listen to you (and vice versa).

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This is a good day to study, or finish a writing project or a manuscript. Your excellent powers of concentration will help you make travel plans, and explore legal matters or anything related to medicine and higher education.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

This is a solid day to address issues related to shared property, taxes, debt and inheritances because you’re in the right frame of mind to deal with routine, red-tape matters. Your powers of concentration are excellent; furthermore, you will be patient and persevering. This is good.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

A discussion with a partner or close friend will be serious today. You will stick to the facts because you’re in a sober frame of mind. Whatever you do, you will do it carefully and thoroughly, which is why this is the day to hammer out the details of an agreement.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a productive day for you because you’re ready to work conscientiously and persevere at any task until it is done. You will put duty before pleasure; furthermore, you will be frugal and thrifty in your decisions. You’ll be pleased with your accomplishments!

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This is a good day to teach children or younger minds. Likewise, it’s a good day to train them in sports or any other discipline that requires perfecting a technique. You might also improve your own technique in the arts or in sports. You want to get something right.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

A discussion with a parent or an older family member will go well today because all parties seem to be concerned with practical results. You won’t overlook details. You will persevere in whatever you do because you will be thrifty, careful and thorough. (Admirable!)

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

This is a solid day to study and learn something because you have the concentration necessary to do so. You don’t want to spend time chatting over the proverbial fence. Instead, you want to get something done, especially something that yields practical results. Bravo!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

When it comes to financial matters today, or shopping, you will be frugal, thrifty and practical. This is because you’re in a conservative frame of mind. This same frame of mind will help you to come up with solutions and better approaches on how to handle domestic matters and issues at home.

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actress, singer Emmy Rossum (1986) shares your birthday today. You are clever. You are a quick study, and accurate when it comes to sizing up a situation. You are also hard-working, generous and warm hearted. This year is the final year of a nine-year cycle for you, which means take stock, wrap up things and get ready for new beginnings next year.
