First and foremost Death does not specifically pertain to our physical death. The Death card marks ends and beginnings. Although most illustrations of the Death card tend to be morbid, the forces behind the Death card are actually quite exciting. Yes Death does mark the end of something. But ends are often brought about by completion and not loss. Most endings are actually good, and make room for us to begin new adventures.
The Death card is not about the literal death of any person. It may represent the death of something else, like a project, plan, or relationship. This card also points to a time of harvest, symbolized in classical decks by the reaping skeleton. Unless the fruits of summer are harvested, they are lost to winter’s harshness, and the people do not eat. As the scythe cuts the cords that link us to the past, it liberates us to go forward without fear, because we have nothing left to lose. Everything being pruned away is recycled for the fertility of the future, so that nothing is really ever lost, despite seasonal cycles of gain and loss.
In more modern Tarot decks, we see Death mounted on a horse and wearing black armor. The emphasis in these decks is on the punishment of sin, as in the way the medieval Plagu (which the Death image was based on) was used to explain the wrath of God. Luckily, in modern times, we are not so encumbered with such a guilt-ridden philosophy.
Free yourself from a past that no longer serves you well and proceed toward the future.
The card in the Advice position suggests a course of action which will harmonize what you want with what is currently possible.
The Death card advises you to detach from the old order. You may want to close accounts, complete unfinished tasks, and gather your harvest. It is time to move on. If you cut the cords that have bound you to old ways and outdated conventions, you could free yourself to join the sweep of incoming light. This is not an excuse to reject others or hurt them in any way. It is simply a time to move toward your ultimate interests.

Historically March has been said to ‘come in like a lion’ and it will. Let’s hope the second half of that sentence also applies, ‘it goes out like a lamb’ although I think, with all of the activity we are going to see this month, it may be a very big, toothy lamb. So far this year we have been processing energy on every front and if you’re tired because you aren’t sleeping at night, you have been enduring the hurricane of energy shifts and downloads that have marked the year, this is not the month to sit down and rest. Rather, since it opens with the resonance from the year’s most powerful new moon solar eclipse on February 26, with powerful Mars energy and a Venus retrograde, there will be periods of big action and equally big inaction. And we have the solstice in March, and an interesting opposition of planets in Aries, the first sign, and Pisces, the last sign. It’s the beginning of the end and the end of the beginning. March has two concurrent themes that will be running side by side all month, what has ‘gone to seed’ and is now finished and what is ready to take root and sprout, both appropriate themes for the month that celebrates spring.
March opens with an active Mars energy as it faces off in a variety of aspects with several of the big planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto in a variety of aspects that are both easy and challenging. This inspires us to move forward but we still have some clearing out to do and as we do we make room for more of the 5D energy to arrive. It is pouring in now, which is why you may feel great one moment, and terrible the next. We’re going to be in energy alignment, integration, and balancing mode all month.
Venus goes retrograde this month and it won’t go out of its retro mode until the end of April. This happens once every two years and I have noticed that there are many more relationship issues in a year when Venus is retrograde. This retrograde happens in Aries, a sign Venus is not comfortable in, as it’s a sign of its detriment, in astrological terms. It will retrograde back into the last degrees of Pisces, its sign of exaltation (where it is most powerful), at the degree of February 1 so once again we move forward a few steps, then back a few steps.
Venus rules value and beauty and in Aries this can get personal. Our challenge is to know our own value this month and not base that on whether others find us valuable. Is our search for acceptance also a desire for approval, to know that we are worthy and deserving of someone’s love without considering what that approval costs us, in terms of our time, energy, and effort? So often we try to gain approval from someone who is tapped out as far as their approval energy, they have no more to give us. It’s a month for self awareness, self value, and self love, and Aries, as the first sign, is all about the self.
At the same time we continue with the Mars/Venus conjunction in Aries although Mars will move forward into the next sign, Taurus, which is Venus’ sign, in March. We had this conjunction throughout February, ushering in the divine feminine and divine masculine awakening. This continues in March as we learn and implement new definitions for this new paradigm and with Mars and Venus in mutual reception, in each others’ signs, we’ll have support for our new paradigm even if it comes at the cost of giving up our desire from those who can’t, don’t, or won’t value, love, or respect us. The divine in us doesn’t require approval from others but it does require self acceptance, and that is one thing we will be working on with this Venus retrograde.
And we have a new aspect in play this month, that of being the bridge between dimensions. This is not about standing on the 4D bridge ushering people across, this is about bridging the material and spiritual worlds, and finding our comfort zone in both. While we’re comfortable in the spiritual world because it feels better to us, we must find the same level of comfort in the material world.
We have long waited for the veil between the worlds to dissolve and it has been gone for several years now. Although highly spiritual people find the material world difficult and challenging, the 5D energy integration requires us to learn to operate in 3D at a higher level. This is the ‘heaven on earth’ soul mission we have all been completing since our first incarnation. Every day brings us closer to its completion but that’s not because we reject the material world for the spiritual. Instead, we bring our spiritual energy to a material world that is hungry for greater spiritual meaning and presence.
We have a willing audience that is seeking new meaning and purpose as the illusion of 3D dis-integrates and its domination and control agenda dissolves. We will see more secrets and hidden agendas come to light this month and continuing through August. As the old 3D support systems fall away they must be replaced with the new 5D frequencies and that is where the bridge people must step up. What kind of bridge are you, a creaky unstable one that is falling apart from lack of use, or a sleek, strong one that invites people to cross over it with confidence? How confident are you with the material world and how grounded are you in both realities? That’s going to be a big test this month that continues throughout the year and into 2018. There is no more divide between spiritual and material, they are one and we must learn to be one with these energies too.
And we have more of the Atlantis energy coming to light as we shift the masculine domination to divine cooperation, replacing the power hungry agendas with community minded collaboration. The transition into 5D integration is not smooth as 3D won’t go down without a fight. There are beings and energies on the planet who must have 3D intact to survive and they are in their death throes now. Use your discernment this month as all may not be as it seems and remember that any news that generates a coordinated, full orchestra of denial is most definitely true.
We can’t forget some important aspects that are creating the chaos and revolution we are experiencing now. Pluto is setting off the Uranus/Pluto square of 2012 to 2015 throughout the year. We still have an ongoing Saturn/Chiron square that will gain in strength as Saturn is now retrograding back to Chiron. The Uranus/Eris conjunction in Aries is still in full force, empowering the voices that are now waking up and joining forces to bring the power back to the people, something Eris is very supportive of. The March 12 full moon exactly highlights Chiron, the Wounded Healer, and makes an uncomfortable angle to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Eris, Pluto, and Neptune, although the orb is wide. This provides an undercurrent of ongoing support for the changes that we’re making in every area of our individual and collective consciousness as we transition into more self aware, divine being. The theme of 2017 is Divine Congruence and that is going to be present in everything that happens this year.
The solstice on March 20 is the beginning of the solar new year, when we arrive at the zero point of the zodiac, Aries. We enter this new cycle with the experienced wisdom of what we have gone through for the last 12 months and we are ready for a fresh start. Remember 2017 is a ‘1’ year in numerology, so it’s a new global cycle that builds on what we have already learned. We’re still in the eclipse energy resonance path of February’s eclipses so bear that in mind as you go back and forth this month, stepping forward into new potentials only to take a step back and clear more blocks from the path to their manifestation. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but 2017 has started on quite a surreal and almost dreamlike note, as though I’m here but not really here at the same time. I feel like a witness, looking in on my own life, seeing the waves of change come crashing in on the rocks of the shoreline of my soul, but not feeling connected enough to feel the spray of the waves on my skin or to feel the invigorating power of the waves as they meet the rocks. Yet, at the same time, I feel more present than ever before, more aware of every sound, thought and breath, so I feel stuck in a kind of paradoxical confusion.
Life is rarely straightforward or ‘black and white’, in fact, most of us prefer the rich kaleidoscope of the full spectrum of ‘what is’ rather than trying to conform and fit in to the concept of ‘normal’. Yet, there are times when straightforward feels like the welcoming hug of a warm jumper on a cold day, as we long for a rest from the confusing and conflicting experience we call life. We want simplicity but live in a world of complexity, and so, yet another paradox surfaces.
In many ways, there is a sense we are each beginning to step beyond the concepts and beliefs that have shaped and defined our lives for so long as we seek out new ways of living and being which coalesce the paradoxes into something more comprehensible and understandable, and it is this process that’s causing the real/unreal state, as we are, in fact, here and not here at the same time! This isn’t suggesting a need to explore the concept of Schrödinger’s Cat or quantum physics, but it is asking each of us to open up our hearts and souls even more to the bigger picture. Of course, this can be a painful process, as we can sometimes feel as though we are being ripped in two and torn apart by the myriad of thoughts, ideas and beliefs; and the growing sense of awareness and rising consciousness can lead to a bewildering array of profound and intense emotions. However, although this is challenging, intuitively we know we need to carry on, as the only way to the other side is through.
This process is not helped by the fact that none of us can truly be sure where ‘the other side’ is in this journey, we sense it’s a deeper awareness of peace, a stronger sense of equilibrium and a capacity to live more consciously, but when we are continually tested and pushed beyond our limits, it can be hard to have trust. Of course, it’s only when we look back, we can see that even when we feel we are being pushed beyond our limits, our limits do expand and we discover we are so much stronger and more pliable than we ever considered, but the benefit of hindsight is usually only beneficial with hindsight!
There is no doubt that being human is complicated and complex, and what’s right for one person usually isn’t for another. When we feel most alone, we want someone to reach out, hold our hands and walk with us, but this is, very often, the time we most need to walk alone in order to find our own true sense of self.
March looks set to be a month of more paradoxes but there is a growing sense of strength emerging: a sense of a willingness, combined with resolve, to keep walking forward with courage and trust. In many ways, the more willing we are to trust the process, the more we will see the complexity stripped away, and the simplicity we all long for, to emerge. This is a time for new life, for allowing the conditions and caveats we’ve placed on our own existences to fall away in order to re-connect more consciously and more vibrantly to life than ever before.
Although we may, at times, need to walk alone, it’s important to know that we are never truly alone. If you feel isolated, disconnected, broken and alone, don’t be afraid to acknowledge this; there is true courage in being open: don’t be afraid to reach out or to ask for help. Although it may sound twee, also know that the sun will come out again; it’s just a matter of time…

Have you ever watched a moth as it’s been allured by a light bulb, only to draw close, realise it’s heat and back off again, before drawing close and seemingly repeating the somewhat self-destructive cycle again? Yet, scientists don’t truly know why moths do this – is it disorientation, slow evolution, self-destruction, mating? It’s easy to make a judgement that the moth should learn and stop, but when is life ever so easy! There are aspects of your own character that has echoes of moth behaviour as you often find yourself repeating patterns and cycles, and even though you know they are not healthy or life affirming, you continue anyway. Is this because you are not evolved or is it because you are self-destructive? It would be easy to make such assumptions (as you are your harshest judge), but the most likely reason is because you are a human being and, like moths and every other living being on the planet, sometimes behaviours and choices just don’t make sense.
You could try to pick apart your character as you scurry about working out exactly what triggers your behaviour and choices, or you could simply accept the perfection of your imperfection and stop beating yourself up in the process. There is a chance that you have no sense of this behaviour in yourself, so you may not feel any sense of affinity for the moth, yet, step back a little, ask those close and you are likely to be made more aware of such patterns. There is no judgement or criticism here, just a compassionate plea for you to shift your awareness in order to live a more balanced, joyful and accepting life. ‘Letting go’ continues to take centre stage throughout March as you begin to contemplate the true meaning of the concept. The latter is perhaps the most important question (so much so, you’ve already been asked twice!) as knowing what you truly want in life is surely the only question that really matters as everything else follows after that. Knowing what you truly want shapes your goals and defines your dreams, knowing what you truly want helps you sort the wheat from the chaff with friends, projects or decisions. Knowing what you truly want gives you a purpose and a sense of definition. If only life was that easy! It’s so hard for you to know what you truly want as life is just so full of possibilities!
Some may feel you are a scatterbrain, lacking focus and direction, but this really isn’t the case as you are quite the opposite and your ability to carry so many different foci at any one time is really quite staggering, but the cost is an inability to gain a sense of clarity to knowing what you truly want. You could argue that you do know what you want, as you want it all, but intuitively you know how exhausting this can be and you long for a simpler, more enriching way of living and being. Maybe this isn’t a time to over-think this question but a time to feel it instead? Maybe what you want isn’t about goals, it’s about achieving a state of being? Maybe what you want isn’t something to go and get, but it’s already with you now? Maybe what you truly want is more a warm, fuzzy tingling feeling inside…

As you continue to shape and cultivate your own, unique definition of happiness, there is a sense that you are beginning to take a broader perspective when it comes to knowing what makes you happy. It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. In the word Friday, we see the roots of the name of the Norse goddess Freya, a goddess of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses thus the verse “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”
In Spanish this day of the week is called Viernes and is derived from the goddess Venus. Matters of love, human interaction, the fluidity of communication, sewing and the creation of artistic garments, household improvement, shopping, and party planning all fall under the aspects of Friday and its ruling planet, Venus.
Friday’s angels are Ariel/Uriel, Rachiel, and Sachiel. Rachiel also concerns himself with human sexuality and is a presiding spirit of the planet Venus.
On Fridays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Venus, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual.

About the Goddess Month of MouraMoura is the thirteenth month and the fifth season of the Sacred Year of Our Mother God.
Unlike the other seasons, which each consist of three 28-day months, Moura is a single-month season. While the other seasons correspond to the four “material” elements, Moura corresponds to the fifth element (literally, the quintessence), Aethyr.
The correspondences are as follows:
Spring : Water : East
Summer : Fire : South
Autumn : Earth : West
Winter : Air : North
Moura : Aethyr : the Center/Vertical Axis
Moura is sometimes called “the Filianic Lent”, and this is certainly not an inaccurate description, since it is the period of purification that precedes the death and resurrection of the Daughter. It is a time of discipline and sacrifice, of cleansing and purification on all levels.
Interestingly, the (long pre-Christian) name of February, the secular month in which Moura begins, means “the month of purifications”. The word “Lent” was actually the Old English name for the season of Spring, and while Filianists regard Moura as a separate season, neither Winter nor Spring, the tradition of “Spring cleaning” in Filianic households actually takes place in Moura. It is cleaning for Spring rather than in Spring.
And cleaning for Spring means specifically cleaning for the first day of Spring, which is also the first day of the year, and the day of the Daughter’s resurrection. Thus Spring cleaning and Moura purifications are all part of the same thing. By making personal sacrifices and undertaking disciplines, we are purifying and preparing our souls and bodies for the New Year and the Resurrection. By cleaning the house – which is always a microcosm of the world and of the body – we are doing the same thing on another level.
The household, or hestia, is particularly important in feminine faith and tradition, so what is happening is that, while on the cosmic level the Daughter, by Her sacrifice, renews the cosmos, we renew the microcosmos, both of ourselves and of the hestia.
So, while on one level the disciplines of Moura are seen (as such things tend to be seen in the Christian West) on a moral and personal level, they should also be seen on the level of ritual action, as participating in the Cosmic Drama which is embodied in the Wheel of the Year.
