On the second day of April, Ceres formed a fairly rare polarity with Saturn. These two celestial bodies – in combination – have a lot to do with childhood issues, parental figures, and overall family dynamics. Yesterday, Ceres formed a contra-parallel to Saturn and now the Moon is contra-parallel Saturn (2:13AM PDT) and parallel to Ceres (2:47AM PDT) while Mars trines Ceres (3:29AM PDT). Make sure troubled relatives and dear ones have your full support and are out of harm’s way. Communication channels and travel plans are more up-in-the-air than stable as Mercury makes a frictional, 45-degree link to giant Jupiter (6:45AM PDT). It may not help matters that Mercury forms a 30-degree contact with dreamy and yet often confusing Neptune (8:06AM PDT). The Sun shifts gears from fiery Aries to earthy Taurus (9:13AM PDT) for a new 30-day experience in the second sign of the zodiac. Take some of your best ideas and start planting them in fertile soil in the hope of harvesting financial rewards. Fata Morgana: A Possibly Titanic Mirage

 Explanation: Did this mirage help sink the Titanic? The optical phenomenon called Fata Morgana can make strange shapes or a false wall of water appear above a watery horizon. When conditions are right, light reflecting off of cold water will be bent by an unusual layer of warm air above to arrive at the observer from several different angles. A conceptually comparable mirage can make a setting Sun appear strangely distorted or a distant pavement appear wet. One hundred years ago today, such a Fata Morgana mirage might have obscured real icebergs from the clear view of crew onboard the Titanic. Additional evidence for this distortion hypothesis arises from the nearby vessel SS Californian which reported sightings consistent with Fata Morgana mirages. The above Fata Morgana mirage was taken off the US Pacific coast in 2008.

The annual Sun-Saturn opposition – from Aries to Libra (11:27AM PDT) – should be approached with care and caution. Strive to remove worry, self-doubt and fear from your mind and heart. There can be progress on the partnership front if you are honest with yourself, and attempt to address impediments to relationship harmony with logic and common sense. What favors a breakthrough are the Moon making a supportive, 60-degree alliance with the Sun (3:43PM PDT), Juno trine Uranus in fire signs (6:19PM PDT), and Ceres making a productive, 60-degree rapport with Neptune (6:49PM PDT). However, the Moon enters a void lunar cycle at 3:43PM PDT (lasting until 10:39PM PDT) while a Vesta-Chiron 45-degree skirmish (3:55PM PDT) adds a note of conflict to the overall proceedings. The bottom line is you need to take today’s Sun-Saturn encounter seriously and – if possible – put legal matters and heavy-duty business concerns on the back burner. Once the Moon leaves void status by entering Pisces (10:39PM PDT), express your feelings with greater compassion and empathy as Sunday shifts into Monday. Write down out-of-the-body visions and Technicolor dreams as the lunar orb makes its monthly union with Neptune at 3:27AM PDT tomorrow.

This is a key time in this calendar to remind you that solar and planetary alignments from yesterday or even a few days ago are not entirely gone. The universe doesn’t wave a magic wand to make Friday’s contentious forces disappear. Instead, they are pushed below the surface, so to speak, but they may still have enormous power to throw you off-course. For example, yesterday’s halt by the red planet is still rippling through the ethers and that is why you should carefully review Friday’s message. In addition, realize that Mars won’t go into another retrograde cycle until March 1, 2014. In the meantime, antique hunters may rejoice a little since the Moon in Aquarius and Venus in Gemini form a flowing trine in air signs (8:11AM PDT) while Venus also makes an off-kilter, 150-degree link to Pluto (9:53AM PDT). If you are into research and in-depth studies – in the arts, crafts and realm of valuable items of historic value – then you may be able to tweak this Venus-Pluto connection to your advantage. On the other hand, Venus and Pluto in a 150-degree relationship could be detrimental for love birds and courageous souls trying to demonstrate their affections to a dear one. The Moon contra-parallel to Mars (12:30PM PDT) reinforces the notion that romance may be rather tricky to enhance today. And while one or two alignments tomorrow might encourage heart-felt expression, Sunday also brings with it the annual Sun-Saturn opposition – a polarity that is usually more frustrating than exhilarating. Nevertheless, with the Moon still transiting eccentric Aquarius, learning more about the Ageless Wisdom teachings, UFOs, ETs, astrology, numerology, ley lines and planetary vortexes may be one way to stay high as a kite.

Easy does it! Imagine that you are entering the dangerous terrain of a sworn enemy. What do you do to survive the battle? Right now you need to deal with the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (activating 24 degrees of Aries and Capricorn) at 3:51AM PDT. Cutting through obstacles – mentally and even spiritually – is part of the essence of every solar-lunar connection where the Moon is waning and 90-degrees from the Sun. You also have to be on your toes due to the Moon in Capricorn entering a 4+ hour void lunar uncertainty zone – stretching from 10:06AM PDT to 2:49PM PDT. Finish odd jobs during this void-of-course time-period. Once the Moon enters the universal air sign of Aquarius (2:49PM PDT), you may think that team sports, group projects, community activities and working on global causes close to your heart will meet with celestial approval. However, all day long the red planet is sending out emotional sparks, darts and mini-explosions as Mars halts its retrograde skid at 4 degrees of Virgo and makes a station there at 8:54PM PDT. Ouch! Any time Mars is motionless, you want to strive for serenity and peace of mind. Two qualities so well liked in people are brightness and warmth, both parts of the sun. Sir David Brewster was a Scottish physicist of the eighteenth century. His study of the material world and its phenomena called the sun glorious, “the center and soul of our system, the lamp that lights it, the fire that heats it, the magnet that guides and controls it, the fountain of color which gives its azure to the sky, its verdure to the fields, its rainbow-hues to the gay world of flowers, and the purple light of love to the marble cheek of youth and beauty.”

What more beautiful qualities for any human being to possess than to have a soul at the center of its system, to light the appearance, to warm the feelings, to guide and control it through its colorful moods, and to let it rise as high as the azure skies and as wide as the gay world of flowers. But better yet, to be most beautiful with the purple light of love. What more to be given than the same qualities of the sun – by one Creator.

To live we need more than light, we need warmth. We need more than strength, we need grace. And more than all these we need love. There can be no greater joy than to see our respect for each other – the warmth and grace and love that bind together people in mutual concern.

Only when we can lay aside our personal feelings, our self-concern and worry of our own gain, can we join in true communion and fellowship with others. And to feel a sense of belonging is necessary to humankind.

It is the nature, not only to be liked and wanted, but to like and want others. And in this relationship find not just warmth but light, not only grace but strength, and in all of these find love.

Today’s Cosmic Calendar for April 10th

It was only 6 days ago that Mercury left retrograde motion to turn direct. Now Pluto is doing the opposite, pausing in its motion at 10 degrees of Capricorn (9:25AM PDT) and shifting from direct to retrograde. All Pluto themes – death-rebirth, regeneration, willpower and purpose, depth psychology, lasers and positive use of atomic energy, the underworld, phobias, extremes, repressed emotions, scandals and invisible forces beyond one’s control – are accentuated now and during the next couple of days. [Pluto will remain in reverse until September 17, 2012 when it will turn direct again at 7 degrees of Capricorn.] Being pushy, egocentric and aggressive won’t win you friends and admirers. Events are also likely to boomerang against you – from the karmic perspective – if you insist on making others do your bidding because of your own arm-twisting maneuvers. Allow the higher vibrations of optimistic and happy-go-lucky Sagittarius Moon to run the show. You may also receive a helping hand from Venus in Gemini forming a polarity to Juno in Sagittarius (11:36AM PDT).
