The Daily Motivator for Nov. 21st – Positive approach

Positive approach

Conflict can be interesting and enticing, but is not particularly useful.  Rather than giving in to the drama of conflict, choose to be genuinely helpful  and cheerful, and make yourself much more effective.

Sure, you can get attention by being negative. But you can get much more done  by taking a positive approach.

Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, offer some workable options for setting  things right. When you feel like giving criticism, find a way to give it in the  form of encouragement.

You don’t have to be nice just to be nice. Be nice, helpful, positive, upbeat  and encouraging because that’s how you, and everyone else, will make the most  progress.

You’ll never be able to get back the time and energy you waste on conflict.  Yet when you invest your time and energy in being a positive influence, the  rewards for doing so will expand exponentially as time goes on.

Your most effective, productive, profitable, compassionate and intelligent  choice is to be positive in your interactions with others. It’s a choice that  lifts the lives of everyone involved.

The Daily Motivator for Oct. 22nd – Energy and drive

Energy and drive

Just about any technique, process or system can lead to success or to  failure. What matters most is not the technique, but the energy and drive you  put into it.

If you feel you’re stuck in a hopeless situation, you’ll remain stuck as long  as you feel that way. As soon as you become enthusiastic about the opportunities  for improvement, you’ll begin to make those improvements.

In every kind of endeavor, there are those who succeed spectacularly and  those who barely get by. The difference is not in the occupation, but in  attitude, commitment and level of energy.

There are people who make it their business to make a positive difference in  life. Choosing each day to be one of those people will give you a continuing  supply of amazingly effective energy.

Even though you may not be in an ideal situation, you can create an ideal  outcome. Use the day, use the moment, use the encounter, use the circumstance to  lift the world higher.

With an attitude of generosity and a commitment to excellence, every day can  be a great day. Decide to give real, meaningful value to life right now, and  feel the positive energy begin

Today’s Quiz: Are You Energy-Sensitive?

Are You Energy-Sensitive? Quiz

If you have ever found yourself getting irritated or depressed for no  apparent reason after spending time with certain people, the answer may be  simple: you may be a sensitive, absorbing or reacting to energy from these  individuals that isn’t healthy for you.

Answer these questions to see if this could be true for you, and then find  out what to do about it so you don’t continue to feel depleted or irritable when  you’re around these people.

1. Do you frequently feel angry, nervous, tense, or irritable around certain  people?

2. Do you often feel sad, low-energy, drained, or lethargic when you are  around some individuals?

3. Do you ever find yourself wanting to lie or cover-up around specific  people?

4. Do you frequently find yourself folding your arms over your midsection  when you are with certain people in your life?

5. Do you often feel ill-at-ease or uncomfortable with some individuals?

6. Does the mere sight of some people cause you to feel instantly defensive  or angry?

7. Do you find yourself inwardly groaning when you hear a specific person’s  voice on the phone?

The more questions you answered “yes” to, the more sensitive you probably  are.

Most of us are unconsciously influenced by others’ energies. These energies  are what they are, neither good nor bad–but some may be beneficial, and some  detrimental to us. The extent to which you are affected is a sign of your  sensitivity. Becoming aware of the energy-effects of interactions is a  wonderful first step in becoming more conscious, and in undoing the negative  effects of others’ energies on us.

If you think you are being adversely affected when you are in the company of  certain people’s energy fields, here are some things you can do:

If you are around someone whose energy makes you feel drained:

1.  Move away from the person.

2. Politely cut the interaction short.

3.  Redirect the person’s attention.

If you find yourself feeling irritable around someone:

1. First,  realize that you do not need to take this personally. Simply notice, “This is  someone who makes me feel prickly.”

2. Ground yourself. This can be as simple as just placing your hands on the  ground, or as complex as doing a brief relaxation and grounding exercise.

The Law of Return

The Law of Return

by Amanda Silvers

The threefold law of return: We hear much about this, but do we really comprehend the meaning? What you put out comes back times three (or more), means unequivocally that, good or bad, you reap what your actions have sown.

How do we define “putting something out”? A thought, a deed, a word are all actions that contain energy. Think about this: If you disburse money willingly, with the focus that you are contributing to the prosperity of the community, the prosperous energy returns to you. Not always in the exact way that you want; sometimes in the most unexpected ways!

If you choose to live in lack, feel like there is never an adequate amount of anything and attempt to hoard and hold onto everything, the flow stops. It’s akin to putting a dam on the energy flow. If you are broke, give a little away, whether it’s time or energy or money. Doing so will create a vacuum effect, which will then help to get the flow started back toward you instead of away from you.

Money is only paper with numbers on it, it is used to represent energy. You expend your energy for some of it and then give it away for something someone else put energy into. Just like everything else, it goes around in a never-ending cycle; there is an ebb and flow to it. Sometimes you have more, sometimes less, but there is always a coming and going of cash; that’s why it’s called cash flow!

This philosophy also works in other areas of life, love for instance. Do you suppose that you have only a limited amount of love? Is it to be rationed out as you go through life? Will you run out? I think not. The more affection you give, the more you generate, the more you experience, the more you give! Just like that. The cycle turns the wheel.

Try this in another area. Have you ever been frightened of having something happen and then had it happen just as you hoped it would not? Or have you ever said “I will never ______ (fill in the blank)” and found yourself doing just that shortly thereafter? Magickal components are a part of everyday life. You have an intent, put emotion (energy) into it, take action and bring it into being. You begin to create with nothing more than a word or thought. It works remarkably well for those things that you say never about, because you feel intensely about them and put a lot of energy into them. What do you think would have more power: “I wish I could win the lottery!” or “I will never have enough money!”?

Your subconscious mind does not recognize the word  “not”; it’s a non-word. When you say “I do not want to do that,” it is a direct command to your brain; you are basically saying that you really do want to do whatever it is. If someone says to you, “I do not want to hurt you,” be careful!

If you sit around all the time, agonizing about your bills, your job, your health, your love life… what kind of energy are you putting out? How might that energy be contributing in a magickal sense to your circumstances? Would you do a spell to get a job you hate, or to get into a bad relationship? Of course not! So why sit around and put energy into negative crap when you could be furthering your positive wishes? The universe is a bountiful place; the Goddess is generous with her gifts. There is plenty for all. Does this ring true for you? If not, you might ask yourself, “Why not?” What beliefs that you hold to be true are sabotaging you?

“Try” is another one of my pet peeves. When a person says they will try to do something, it is just an excuse for not doing it, as in “I tried! I just couldn’t.” Think about what you say. Instead of saying “I will try,” see how much power there is in actually committing. Say “I will do it!” Also, how much power is there in saying no to those things you really don’t intend to do. Wow, what an enormous amount of energy you free up by just saying no in the first place! Then you don’t have to worry till the last minute whether you should actually do it, then have to make an excuse for not doing it – not to mention maybe having to do something you’d really rather not. You will find people will respect you more and value your energy more when you can be believed and counted upon to do what you say, as well as for your being in control of your boundaries.

Finally, be careful what you wish upon someone else, because just as positive thoughts come back to you, so do the negative ones aimed at others. Don’t wish on someone else something you would not like to have happen to you and yours. Be careful of those things said thoughtlessly or in jest. How might you feel if the nasty thought you thought when you were angry at your friend or mate were to happen?

Make your statements in the positive. Strive to be conscious of your every thought and word and the energy around them. Focus on the here and now and what’s happening. If you can accomplish this, the law of return will work in your favor and only good things will come to you.

Be careful what you ask for; you just might get it!

Daily OM for Sept. 29 – Your Wellspring Of Energy

Your Wellspring Of Energy

A Stress-Free Home

Sometimes our lives are so busy that we treat our homes as if they were impersonal places that we merely pass through. But we can make certain that our homes truly feel like our sanctuaries by taking the time to tend to them like gardens, which need care in order to offer us the beauty of their blooms. When we take the time to treat our homes like beloved treasures, we can shift their energy from being merely places to being wellsprings for the replenishment of our energy.

Consider that homes are the outer reflections of those who live within. If we feel that the current appearance clashes with how we’d like to see ourselves, it can keep us from fully allowing our light to shine. Updating our homes to reflect our inner landscape need not involve massive redecorating or a large outlay of money. Small things can make a big difference, like simply moving items so that we constantly gaze upon the things we love the most, liberating the treasures we’ve hidden in our closets, using our best dishes and making small repairs. Organizing and cleaning is a no-cost way to remove chaos from our homes and introduce more calm. Lovingly rejuvenating our personal space can become a creative project that increases the flow of good throughout all aspects of our lives and increases our feeling of connection. We can give old things new life by donating them to charity, opening space for newness to enter. Removing stress from our homes can be as simple as putting our bills into pretty boxes and choosing a specific time to deal with them, or removing clutter so that we and our energy can move freely throughout our space.

Simplifying our space lets our imagination and energy roam free. We can choose to prioritize our homes, making them the true heart of our family’s activities. Then we are free to focus on what really matters—time to ourselves, to share with loved ones, and to replenish our energy so that we have more to share with each other and with the world.

Spell A Day – Earth Energy Spell

Spell A Day – Earth Energy Spell

Here’s an exercise to do when you have low energy. It is especially effective for when you are away from home. Sit in a chair, with  your feet flat on the floor and your hands flat on your thighs. Become aware that below your feet, if you go deep enough, no matter where you are, is the  earth. Feel the energy coming up from the earth, up through your feet and legs into your body. Feel the energy travel up through your hands and arms, and up  to your head. Let the energy go out through the top of your head. Feel the energy fall back to earth like the rain, and move through the earth back up  through your legs in a endless cycle or loop. Let the energy flow for a little while until you begin to feel restored, then focus your attention  elsewhere.

Keeping Your Energy Strong

by Madisyn Taylor

Keeping our energy strong and pure throughout the day is vital to somebody that is sensitive.

Being a sensitive person in this world can sometimes feel very draining due to the fact that we are very receptive to the energy of the people and environment around us. Still, we want to be part of situations that involve small or large groups of people, and we would like to do it without becoming overwhelmed or exhausted. With a few simple strategies we can entertain at home and socialize in the world without running the risk of losing ourselves in someone else’s energy or giving our energy away. All this takes is a little time and practice, and the result—being part of social events without ending up depleted—is well worth the effort.

The whole purpose of this self-care ritual is to help keep yourself strong energetically when you are in a situation that could potentially be draining. For example, if you are having a party, you might take some time to prepare beforehand. Just as you spend time cleaning your home and preparing food, it is essential to prepare your inner home for the event. This can be as simple as taking a mindful walk or a cleansing bath, or engaging in any other activity that gives you energy. You can even just sit alone for a set period of time, tuning in to your energy and connecting to yourself so that you are less easily carried away by the energy outside of yourself. You may employ a mantra such as “I am centered and safe in the home of myself.” You can also charge a crystal or gemstone or any piece of jewelry with protective energy and wear it or carry it with you. This can be helpful during the event when just seeing it or touching it can remind you that you are centered and safe.

Keep in mind that it is always acceptable to excuse yourself for a bathroom break or to step outside for a moment. This can give you the time and space you need to check in with yourself and correct any energetic imbalances you detect. Whether you are at home or out in the world, taking care of yourself in this way enables you to keep your energy strong, even as you open yourself to others.

Good Friday Morning, my dear friends! You Should Be Doing Fantastic Today!

“My Little Stinker”

Good morning, my dears! As promised, here is my little Stinker! As you can see he is a yellow tabby cat. He weighs 14 pounds. I know that sounds like a lot but he is all muscle. He has to be to keep Razzy off his butt. Something that amazes me, he is a fixed tomcat. But he still gets in a romantic mood when it comes to Razzy? That puzzles me. I thought once fixed all that stops but my husband mentioned it might be because he is around her all the time. Heck if I know. But I know she doesn’t want a darn thing to do with him. I hope one day he figures out she is not his type of cat (at least before she kills him). If you haven’t noticed, I got one of my cameras working and loading onto my laptop. I have went crazy photographing this and that. I have to show you one of the little creatures that I get to care for. This little guy came from the vet. His mother and other siblings were shot by a farmer out in a field. The wolves were minding their own business and the fool shot all of them but one. Someone else heard the shots and went to see what was going on. By that time the man who had shot the wolves had left. The good guy found this little guy still alive. When his mother was shot, she fell on top of him and that was all that saved him. There were four other cubs and they were all killed. So the good guy took this one to the vet. The vet checked him out and he was fine (just scared to death). The vet called me to see if I had room for a little visitor. How could I refuse? I went and picked him up and he took right up with me. He is too young to be released back into the wild. So he will be with me for a few weeks. He is adorable and he can do some of the cutest things. My husband thinks I will end up keeping him (might, who knows, lol). I love wolves and this one is…….well see for yourself.

He is a little red wolf. The government had the bright idea to release some of the adult red wolves over at the game reserve. The intention was to repopulate the red wolves in this area and a few other areas around here. I didn’t know the red wolf was a native. But I guess you learn something new every day. I know when we first moved here, there was a huge gray wolf. Boy was he gorgeous. He would come around because of Mocha (my wolf hybrid). He had romantic intentions towards her too. The same thing happened every time he would get within 500 feet of him. She would try to eat him. Back to this little guy, he is absolutely adorable. He is so little I can take him out in the yard and not worry about him running off. He loves to play but he does play rough. He has done deflated one ball and working on his second.

But the wolf pup is just an example of some of the animals I care for. I had possums, raccoons, an adult wolf or two, foxes, deer, you name it and it will eventually show up here. I get donations from local individuals because of the food bill is so high. Also the donations help pay for all the vaccinations and checkups the animals might need before they are release. Most of the vets that send the animals to me, do this for free. But I understand their supplies cause money and they are good enough to do this. So I like to give them something for their trouble. Vets in the big city would put the animals to sleep instead of trying to help them.

I will be posting more of the critters I have around here now that the camera is working. You see what I do in my spare time. Spare time, yeah right! If by any chance you would like to donate to help with the food bill for all of my critters, there is a Paypal button on the side of this page. I appreciate every dollar that comes in and I know the animals do too.

Well I am gong to run for now. I have talked about the love of my life enough (animals, animals and more animals). I hope you have a fantastic day!

Happy June to you all!

Daily OM for April 29th – Brand-New Day

Brand-New Day
Inner Sunrise

When today is not going well, it is tempting to focus on tomorrow as a blank slate with all the possibilities that newness provides. It is true that tomorrow will be a brand-new day, but we do not have to wait until tomorrow to start fresh. We can start fresh at any moment, clearing our energy field of any negativity that has accumulated, and call this very moment the beginning of our brand-new day.

There is something about the sunrise and the first few hours of the morning that make us feel cleansed and rejuvenated, ready to move forward enthusiastically. As the day wears on, we lose some of this dynamic energy and the inspiration it provides. This may be why we look forward to tomorrow as providing the possibility of renewal. Many traditions consider the light of the rising sun to be particularly divine in its origins; this is why so many people in the world face east when performing ritual. We too can cultivate that rising sun energy inside ourselves, carrying it with us to light our way through any time of day or night, drawing on its power to awaken and renew our spirits.

One simple way to do this is to carry an image or a photograph of the rising sun with us in our wallet or purse. We can also post this image on our wall at work or at home, or have it as our screensaver on our computer. When we feel the need to start fresh, we can take a moment to gaze at the image, allowing its light to enter into our hearts. As we do this, we might say out loud or quietly to ourselves, I am ready to let go of the past and start anew. We might visualize anything we want to release leaving us as we exhale, and as we inhale, we can take in the fresh energy of the eastern sun, allowing it to light the way to a brand-new day.

Can You Believe It Is Thursday Already?

Happy Thursday to all my dear friends! My hand is doing much better, so I figured I would whine at you a bit. I was totally amazed I haven’t written anything in about a week and I got a comment about me whining. Whining? What the hell am I whining about? I am nursing a sick hand. Good grief! Come to find out, it was from the same person that always writes to me about my whining. So I figure big deal, this person must really be a miserable person.  I could go into preacher mode here but I won’t, lol!

I don’t know if you noticed or not but I am working on a new Goddess page, The Goddess Hecate. It was strange, I was working on the page and Kiki started raising heck. In case you are new to the blog, Kiki is my little Pomeranian familiar. Anyway, this was her bark that something was in the yard bark. So I got up to look and in the yard was a timber wolf. I liked to fell out in the floor. I went running through the house to the porch outside. I just had to see him. He came within about 100 feet from the porch. He was solid black and looked very mean and angry. Since it is unusual to see wolves during the day out in the open, I knew something had to be wrong.  I first thought of him having rabies and what a brain I was for running out the door. But I took his appearance as a sign from Hecate. I wasn’t afraid of him at all. But then again, I haven’t run into a wild animal I am afraid of. I use caution around them and eventually I can become friends with them. Well when the wolf turned his side to me, I could see what the problem was. He was hurt on his side. My husband who run out behind me to see what the matter was immediately said, “Don’t you dare?” But as soon as my husband spoke, the wolf wandered off.  I don’t know if the wolf comes back, I might try to help him. But the timber wolf is the meanest wolf there is.  I don’t know just working on the page about Hecate and the wolf showing up, I sort of took it as a sign from Her.  Perhaps She was happy I was finally doing a page on Her. Perhaps I am totally wrong and it was just a coincidence that the wolf showed up the same time I was doing Her page. But I thought it was unusual anyway. I have had other strange occurrences. I will tell you about them some other time. My hand is starting to act goofy, I can tell I have typed enough. I just had to share about the wolf showing up. I had a wolf-hybrid and I had to have her put to sleep after 15 years of companionship and love. So I love wolves.

Well I am going to go for now and get busy doing the Dailys. I would hate to think you fired me for not doing my job, lol. I hope you have a great Thursday.

Luv & Hugs,

Lady A

Today’s Runes for June 20 is Berkana/Growth reversed

Berkana / Growth reversed

Aspects, hindering your growth are frightening you. Carefully revise your part in that process and the part of the others involved. If you realize, that you’ve put your own wishes above all, you might have found the source of the blockage. Gently free yourself from it and put new energy into reaching your goals. A positive outcome is guaranteed.

Stones

Stones are great to use in spellcrafting, because you can recycle them by cleansing and purifying them. Basically, this”washes” them clean of whatever energy with which you previously empowered the, as well as whatever energy they picked up during their work. Note that this does not remove their base energy. No matter what you do, you can never remove the basic energy encoded into the stones (or herb, or any component, for that matter). Once the stone has been cleansed, it’s ready to go again; a blank slate for you to program or charge for a new purpose. There are several ways to cleanse a stone.
