BETTER BODY BATH SPELL

You will need one cup of sea salt, one cup of baking soda, one cup of Epsom salt, a large glass jar with a top, lavender essential oil, geranium essential oil, a warm bath, a white tea candle, and a small mirror.

After dark, write the following affirmation on an index card or piece of clean paper:

Tonight and every night, I am
the radiant reflection of divine
beauty, grace, and celestial light.

Now, mix the salts and soda together in the jar. Add twenty-four drops of the lavender essential oil and twenty-four drops of the geranium essential oil to the mixture. Put the top on the jar, and shake the mixture slowly. Repeat nine times:

These bath salts are filled with divine, radiant power.

Run a warm bath, and put one-quarter cup of the mixture in the water. Put the candle in front of the mirror, and light it, dedicating the candle to your favorite god or goddess. Place the candle in such a way so you can see its reflection in the mirror from your bath. Step into your bath, and inhale and exhale completely, just allowing the tension of the day to flow out of you with your exhale. Next, repeat the affirmation nine times aloud:

Tonight, and every night, I am the radiant
reflection of divine beauty, grace, and shining light.
I am beautiful, loving, and successful.

When you get out of your bath, towel off and anoint yourself with a few drops of the lavender essential oil. Allow the candle to burn down safely. Put the piece of paper with the affirmation on your bathroom or bedroom mirror. Repeat it at least nine times each night and day. You can repeat this spell as often as you like. The recipe makes enough bath salts for several baths.

Awaken the Magick! Spell

To help you awaken your inner magick you can cast this easy spell.

Start by gathering together the following items:

  • an empty notebook (you will call this your Magickal Diary)
  • and a blue pen

Then, on the day or evening of the moon (Monday) take a bath or shower first to help cleanse and purify your aura and after you get dressed in some clean comfortable clothes, find a quiet place in your home where you can be undisturbed for at least half an hour and place the notebook and pen onto a table or a flat surface and sit down nearby.

Close your eyes for a few moments while you take deep relaxing breaths and imagine that you feel and see a white light surrounding you and filling you with a feeling of peace and happiness.

Next, open your eyes and then open the first page of the notebook and with your pen draw the shape of a square or rectangle on the page and look into the square while you imagine that this is a doorway and it is opening up and you are stepping through the door.

The door to the magic within you is always open, if you are open to yourself and the magic of the world around you...

Let yourself relax and feel happy and uplifted as you imagine that your mind is stepping through that doorway into a sunny garden that is full of your favorite plants and flowers, (you may even see some fairies and unicorns there too) and let yourself stay in that enchanted place and have fun imagining for a while as you say these words,

“To the left and right of me, Above and below me, I awaken the spirit of nature and magick within me.”

When you feel you are ready, let your mind come back through the door and close the notebook and say

“I am a wonderful child of the Universe, and so will it be.”

When you finished your spell, you can write the words, My Magickal Diary, or whatever words you like on the front cover and keep this book as your enchanted workbook for spells and wishes.

Casting Instructions for ‘Magic Flower Spell’

You will need the following items for this spell:

  • Any color flower (picked or grown)
  • Sugar
  • 1 or half a cup of Water
  • Dry ice
  • Spoon
  • Pink flower petal
  • Your DNA (saliva, hair, etc.)
  • Freezer
  • Window
  • Belief in magic

-First, you need a flower. Either picked or grown, both are fine.

-Next, you need to fill the cup with water half way or full.

-Now, get a pink flower petal, and put both flower and petal in water.

-Put in a small amount of sugar and stir it gently with a spoon.

-Put in your DNA in the cup and stir it gently again.

-Put in the dry ice and stir it.

-Put the cup in the freezer for 1, 2, or 3 hours.

-Take the cup out. If the petals are closed and curling up, it’s working.

-Take out the flower, petal, and ice. Throw the ice in the sink, and put in hot water in the cup, dumping out the cold water.

-put in your DNA, petal, flower and the sugar and stir it once more.

-Now, put your flower in the window and chant:

Cast this spell to strengthen one of your friendships.

For this spell, use a beeswax candle, a photograph of your friend, a photograph of yourself, and three dabs of glue.

After dark, light the candle, dedicating it to your special friend. Put the photographs in front of the candle where you can easily see them. Gaze at the photographs for several minutes. Turn your mind to all the positive things in your friendship, caring, love, sharing, nurturing, fun, humor, joy, consideration, compassion, a helping hand when things go wrong, someone to talk with, and someone to enjoy special occasions with. Carefully drip a little candle wax on the back of both photos. Next, put the three dabs of glue on the front edge of your photograph. Place your friend’s photograph on top of the front edge where the glue is. This glues the photos together so both faces can still be clearly seen. Place both your palms one inch over the photographs. Take a deep, complete breath, and center your awareness. Merge with the divine, with Oneness, and say:

Fine-Tuning an Unethical Spell

 

As mentioned earlier, there will be times when you choose the “less wrong” action. Reality doesn’t exist in black and white terms. Everything is painted in shades of gray. In addition, the concept of working a spell to change someone else’s situation without their knowledge and consent is perceived as being unethical in itself in the spellcasting community. However, you’ve already established that doing nothing is unethical. Which unethical action do you choose? Remember too that sometimes the correct way to deal with a situation is to do nothing at all, as you may not have all the facts, and your interference may further degenerate the issue. When you cast spells for or upon yourself, this question of ethics rarely comes up.

When you decide to use spellwork to deal with a situation beyond your immediate control, however, the question of ethics immediately arises. In spellcrafting workshops, I often ask students if they would cast a spell to limit someone else’s freedom. They are usually horrified, and protest that they would never do such a thing. Then I suggest a situation such as a serial rapist on the loose in their neighborhood. Would they not do a spell to limit the rapist’s freedom by being caught by the police? Some students say that they would do spells to protect the neighborhood. Wouldn’t it be easier to arrest one individual than attempt to protect thousands? And doesn’t that arrest accomplish the same goal: ensuring the safety of the neighborhood? Sometimes, spellwork for the needs of the many outweighs preserving the needs or rights of the few.

This, however, is a decision only you can make, and only you can draw the line separating ethical from unethical spellcasting. If you decide to act, then commit yourself completely to your decision. Don’t halve your efforts just to cover your bases. If you’re going to do it, do it, and accept the responsibility.

FINE-TUNING AN ETHICAL SPELL

 

When you encounter a situation that you wish to improve with a spell, there are a few things to ask yourself first in order to keep your spell ethical.

1. Who is involved in this situation?

2. Who is affected by this situation?

3. How do I wish to change it?

4. What are the potential repercussions?

These questions will probably remind you of the first steps in crafting a spell. These four questions, however, pinpoint the ethical aspects of spellcrafting. Let’s look at them one by one.

Who Is Involved in This Situation?

This question helps you remember that there are real people with their own lives, hopes, fears, and goals involved in the situation. Every situation is a tangle of energy strands connecting people, emotions, places, and objects. For example, if your significant other is being hassled by his or her boss at work, then the people involved are your significant other and the boss. Some judicious questioning or investigation will reveal the presence of others about which you might not know.

Who Is Affected by This Situation?

Each of the people directly involved in the situation are also connected to other people. What affects the people directly involved can also indirectly affect people not involved. Taking the example from the previous paragraph, the boss’s family is also affected by the situation, as well as the other members of the work environment, and yourself.

How Do I Wish to Change It?

There are several different methods with which to address a problem. You could do a spell to have the boss fired; to have the boss transferred and replaced by someone else; to have the boss hassled by his or her own superiors; to have your significant other transferred; to have your significant other offered another, better job at another company; to improve communication between the boss and your significant other; to win the lottery so that your significant other no longer has to work; to charm the boss into adoring your significant other; the list is endless.

What Are the Potential Repercussions?

When you decide upon a goal, think abut what the repercussions will be. What you can do to address a problem is not necessarily what you should do. If you’re being drawn to casting a spell for something less than ethical, such as having the boss fired, then look back to the second question. Who will be affected by that solution? The family of the boss.

Look at it in terms of what it might do for your significant other, as well. If the boss is fired, then someone has to temporarily take up the slack, and that’s likely to be your significant other’s team or department. Stress will mount; people will start to hassle one another; your own relationship with your partner might become strained. The person eventually brought in to replace the boss will need time to learn the dynamics of the department, and until that replacement has become completely comfortable, things will be awkward. Perhaps the replacement will be even worse than the original boss was.

Do your best to develop a solution that is for the best for everyone involved. Remember that energy travels out along those strands of the energy web. You also will be affected by the web’s vibration.

Meaning: The first meaning of this rune is quite obvious: it represents women. Any woman that is important in the question, whether you know her or not, will be represented by this rune. Mother, sister, aunt, grandma, a female boss, friend, lover or even enemy… all can be symbolized by the appearance of this rune.

In a more general sense, this rune is related to traditional female abilities and characteristics, such as giving birth, nurturing, comforting and healing. When this rune appears, you can count on the sympathy of others towards you or your situation. In its most negative aspects, the Woman rune can show over-protectiveness, a patronizing attitude or co-dependency. It often strives to maintain the status quo, refusing to change even if the situation is bad.

The Woman rune is connected to nurturing – nurturing a relationship, a person or a project. Like the Moon rune, it can be related to finding a safe place to rest and heal, but while the Moon implies a solitary retreat, the Woman often shows that you need to go back to the people you trust, the people you feel safe with.

Healing is another strong aspect of this symbol, as well as teaching. You can be both the patient/student or the healer/teacher when this rune appears. This rune is also connected to creativity, but in a way that is different from the Romance rune. While the latter is about the conception of a project – the initial stages of creation – the Woman is about the birth of this project. Through the Past Lightly Spell

Use this spell to get in touch with your past.

You will need a mirror, a white candle, and a rattle or shaker. You can purchase shakers at music stores and rattles at New Age shops or over the internet. You can also make your own rattle by putting dried beans, rice, or peas in a container with a lid. In a pinch, you can use a tic tac candy container with a few candies insides.

At midnight, place the mirror in back of the candle so that the candlelight appears in the mirror. In its holder, light the candle and say:

Candle flame

burning bright

Light a Path to the

past tonight.

Look at the candle flame reflected in the mirror. Now, look past the candle, and gaze into your own eyes. Begin shaking the rattle slowly and rhythmically. As you do so, chant the following over and over for a few minutes:

I call upon the

light of the

Goddess

To show me the

Paths I have

followed in other

lifetimes.

Continue chanting and shaking the rattle while staring deep into your own eyes. Imagine walking down a dark pathway that becomes lit up by the candlelight. You may start seeing other reflections in the mirror. Keep walking down the Path. Observe the images, but don’t let them startle you, no matter what they look like.

When you are done, quit shaking the rattle, extinguish the candle, and thank the Goddess for her help. Make a note of your impressions in your journal, and date your entry.

Magickal Goody for May 4th – Five Finger Protection Bath

Five Finger Protection Bath

The following ingredients will be required.
* Five dried or fresh bay laurel leaves
*One cup (or more) of sea salt
*Five limes, sliced in half
* A splash of vinegar, preferably lemon vinegar
* A glass of spring water
*A glass of rose water or rose hydrosol, or one of the charged waters

1. Draw a warm bath

2. First add the salt and bay leaves.

3. Squeeze the limes into the water, tossing the fruit as well.

4. Add the other ingredients.

5. Enter the water submerge yourself completely five times if possible. Stay in as long as you like. Rub your body with the limes.

6. Drain the water while still in the tube. Allow yourself to air-dry amidst remnants of the limes and leftover leaves.

Spell to Bind Someone Dangerous

Timing: Best performed on Saturday (Saturn’s Day, to bind a criminal, one who intends to do harm, to bring someone to justice).

Supplies:

•a poppet made to represent the person in question
•a black candle
•myrrh incense
•red ribbon

Cast a circle. Light a black candle and burn myrrh incense. Sprinkle the poppet with salt water, saying:

Blessed be, thou creature made of art.
By art made, by art changed.
Thou art not cloth (or wax, whatever)
But flesh and blood.
I name thee ___________ (person being bound)
Thou art s/he, between the worlds, in all the worlds,
So mote it be.

Hold the poppet and imagine it enmeshed in a silver net, binding the person in question. Tie the poppet up firmly with red ribbon, binding all parts of it that could possibly do harm. Charge it, saying:

By air and earth,
By water and fire,
So be you bound,
As I desire.
By three and nine,
Your power I bind.
By moon and sun,
My will be done.
Sky and sea
Keep harm from me.
Cord go round,
Power be bound,
Light revealed,
Now be sealed.

Earth the power and open the circle. Bury the poppet at the time of the waning moon, far from your home, under a heavy rock.

Use this meditation to sleep and dream soundly.

You will need a cup of chamomile tea and a lemon slice.

About an hour before you go to sleep, sit where you can see the moon. Drink the tea slowly. As you sip the warm tea, meditate on what you would like to bring into your life. Imagine being a source of pwoerful light like the moon. Allow the lunar energy to fill your mind, heart, and spirit. Now, gaze at the moon for a few moments, then close your eyes. Count to ten, then open your eyes and look at the moon.

Now close you eyes, take a deep complete breath, and go ten times deeper into relaxation. Count to ten and open your eyes again and look at the moon. Now, close them, breathe in, and exhale completely. As you exhale, go ten times deeper into relaxation. Count to ten and open your eyes and look at the moon.

Once more, close your eyes, take another deep breath, in and out, and go ten times deeper into relaxation. This time, keep your eyes closed. Imagine being filled completely with the light of the moon. Draw this light into every aspect of your body, mind and spirit. Feel all the parts of yourself uniting into one. Know that you are a source of spiritual energy. Like the luminous moon in the vast expanse of the night sky, you shine brightly. You are radiant. You are illuminated with light. Continue this for several minutes. When you are done, allow yourself to drift into a peaceful, deep sleep.

Just before you go to sleep, begin by envisioning in your mind a dream that you would like to have come true. Spend some time imagining all the different aspects of your dream as to how you would like it to be. Let your mind run free as to the idyllic circumstances of your dream. Make it what you want. Try it on for size. If it doesn’t fit, then adapt it until it does work for you. After all, it is your dream. Don’t be afraid to express yourself. You are a caterpillar, soon to transform into a beautiful butterfly.

Imagine spinning a web around your dream as you go to sleep. Like a catepillar, you build a womb where your cream can incubate and grow into something that has wings. The Hare Moon is when the Goddess grants the earth unlimited fertility. It is a time of great productivity when you weed out the parasites in your life. In modern mythology, the hare has shape shifted into the Easter bunny, which brings eggs to children. Like the rabbit, the egg is a traditional symbol of fertility. Use this ritual to manifest five personal dreams.

For this ritual, you will need five green candles, five yellow flowers, and five dreams that you would like to come true. Write the dreams down in your journal.

At 5:55 p.m., draw a magick circle, call in the elements and light the green candles, dedicating them to the three faces of the Goddess:

Child, Mother, Grandmother,

Each a fertile part of life,

To the Goddesses of eternal creation,

I give to you this light.

Place the five yellow flowers on your altar, and in a loud voice declare:

Oh great and mighty one,

Let me flower with your fluorescence

Let me glow with your divine light

Like a bright star in the night.

Call out the name of your favorite goddess five times, one for each of your dreams. Finish by shouting:
