I have been having a problem with fracking for a long time, to me it is a type of rape to Mother Earth. MY cousin sent me an article about a woman in Ohio, USA who built her own home in a very quiet wooded area with a stream that went through her property, all she would her is sounds of nature. Then even without permission because 65% of other in the county she lived in gave permission that was all that was need for them to “trespass” and start fracking for natural gas. She wound up having to give up her piece of paradise because of the noise, lights, smells, and traffic due to them drilling and fracking. Personally, I feel this was a horrible thing that happened to her all because us as humans are using more and more natural gas, fuel for automobiles, and all the other things that are in the ground. It is no wonder between this and climate change we are having more earthquakes everywhere on the planet, tidal waves, and unpredictable weather. Yes, I understand in a way these things need to be done but humans are taking more and more forests and other natural areas needed for wildlife to thrive and domestic farm animals to live. When are we going to reach a level of human population that Mother Earth can no longer sustain any type of life, and she dies?

No I do not want to go back to caveman days but each of us can help by using natural lighting whenever possible in our warm, dry homes, make a plan for where you have to go each day before leaving home and map out the shortest route possible to every place we need to go, use shower heads that turn on and off as we get soaped up and rinse off, quit using a dishwasher half full, wash full loads of clothes, and do not have our home furnaces set to tropical temperatures or air conditioners to artic. These are all things that can also save us money on some of our bills so it’s a win-win thing.

I know many different traditions of witchcraft and The Old Ways read this blog and I am truly grateful for you all. I felt the need to share this and the full Rede will be posted later this morning. As I am not fully Wiccan but an Eclectic witch, I changed the name of the Rede for myself to the Wicce Rede. Why Wicce? Wicce is an old English word meaning wise woman. I consider myself a wise woman not only when it comes to The Craft but also when dealing with other people my family included. On my birthday I tell people I am 1 year wiser not older Ok this might sound like I am boosting but it is a positive affirmation I had to use for more almost two decade that I stay in an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship.

Well, my day of fun turned into a day of doing deep cleaning in our home. Tiring? Yes. Sore and stiff this morning? Definitely. But my allergies have calmed down some. Remember a silver lining can be found in whatever your day brings you.

I apologize for not putting this up earlier this summer.

Durning this heat wave and any to follow please remember to check on family, friends, neighbors no matter how old they are. Drink plenty of water or other non-sugary drinks. Stay away from black and green teas as they can cause dehydration by making you urinate more. Please don’t allow children to play outside for extended periods of time and to have water with them the entire time they are outside.

Keep plenty of cool, clear water available for all animals indoors and out. If your companion pets don’t drink enough, they can suffer dehydration, low blood sugar followed by kidney damage or even death. If you have melon of any kind freeze bite size pieces and give them to your companion throughout the day. This not only helps keep them hydrated but their sugar level good. I give Merlin and Crystal Moon melon or flavored ice cubes about every 3 hours if I notice their water dish doesn’t need to be refilled during this time. Try to keep their water dish in a cool room in your home as warm water just isn’t appetizing when it’s hot out.

Starting about the age of 50, after crossing the broom into my Crone stage of life, when someone asks, “How old are you?” or I tell someone my age instead of saying, “__age old” I say, “I’m 66 (in 2024) years wise.” The reason being is to me an age is just a number but doesn’t say anything about your life experiences. But saying I’m __ year wise I feel I’m conveying that I have learned from life and grown plus gather more knowledge about a variety of topics and making things. Some may think my crossing into my Crone years at 50 was too young but by the time I was 50 I had 5 wonderful children and 6 awesome grandchildren; I had quit my women’s monthly time at about 34 years old due to surgery. The biggest reason is I felt it was my time to do it.

So, remember to tell anyone inquiring about your age or you are share it that you are __years wise not __ years old. You have lived life, grown and your knowledge has grown about life and intellectually.

Well, I found out why I have been feeling so yucky the last few days after taking a COVID test. Yep I have it for a third time. I posted what I felt up to doing and will continue to do so until I have my physical energy back again.
