May 2017 Energy Report

May 2017 Energy Report

April’s many retrogrades brought us back to the past so we could move forward into the future. If you saw repeats of the past it was so you could get closure and be done in your mind and heart. In May we have good news and not so good news, as the energy aspects will be strong. But it’s how we choose to experience them that will make the difference for us. May’s key word is ‘surrender’ and that does not mean to give up, it means to stop resisting changes. We get a welcome change as the moon’s nodes change signs to Leo/Aquarius which will be less energetically taxing than when they were in Virgo/Pisces.  If you’re ready for change, surrender is the way to go so allow the transitions and transformation and be prepared to allow and receive. We’re moving fast now and we’ll move even faster once we take our foot off of the brake and get into high gear.

If surrender is a hard concept for you, I am offering a Surrender Course that teaches how to stop resisting and start receiving, based on Archangel Uriel’s messages about how to surrender to love, peace, joy, freedom, and timing, as well as two messages that teach on how to speak your truth and to ask for guidance as a creator.   Over 10 hours of audios, worksheets, and videos to help you understand and integrate these important concepts. You can find out more and sign up at this link. And from now until May 8, 2017 you can get it at a special price for this month since it is such an important issue.

The biggest news for May is the movement of the moon’s Nodes from Virgo/Pisces, where they have been since November 2015, to the Leo/Aquarius axis. Since we were also in the spiritual awakening Jupiter in Virgo cycle at that time, we had a double dose of spiritual lessons and learning, most notably with the choice between the Martyred Healer paradigm and the Empowered Master paradigm. And with Chiron also in Pisces, sometimes that learning was truly hard. If Virgo/Pisces represents the choice between 3D and 5D, Leo/Aquarius helps us create the balance between energetic self-sovereignty (as opposed to control by rulers and sovereigns) and community and social connection and empowerment. We can each be powerful in our own lives while also connecting with all of humanity in a powerful and self and whole empowering way. No one needs to have control over others, that is so 3D and it is so over.

The nodes move in 19 year cycles, so the previous Leo/Aquarius cycle was from September 1998 to April 2000. That was an important period for us as we entered a new millennium and at that time we were barely scratching the surface of our ascension cycle. Look how far we have come since then. How much of a Martyred Healer were you in 1998 and how much more of an Empowered Master are you now? How different is your life today, not in terms of being better or worse but in terms of how much more understanding, awareness, and empowerment you have today than you did 19 years ago? Moving into new paradigms of awareness, understanding, and empowerment come with a price that can be heavy at times, when we must let go of what no longer fits into the new reality. That process of letting go is surrender, acknowledging that we must release what represents resistance to our transformation.

Leo/Aquarius carries the energy of the Sun and Uranus, where the ruler (Leo) meets the revolutionary (Aquarius).  Do you think this will impact the current world political, social, and financial situation that pits the ‘elites’ against the masses? I rather think so. Aquarius is also the sign of the community, a direction we have seen humanity move into as they reject the celebrity cult and desire more social support, connection, and interaction. We’ll have this aspect until early November 2018 and it will probably be part of the many changes we will see in the next 18 months.

Also, the north Node sign change begins at 29 Leo which is also the degree of the August 21 big eclipse so that energy is already being set in place. All of you born from the mid 1950s to early 1960 are impacted by this eclipse as it exactly conjuncts your natal Pluto, which is a generational planet as it moves so slowly.

We have two more big astro events that will be ‘rubber meets the road’ moments energetically and create the energy gaps to shift a lot of energy out and create space for new energy. The first is the Mars/Saturn opposition at the end of the month. These are harsh energies when they come in contact like this but it is also a watershed moment where we may get the final piece of a rather complicated puzzle and know exactly where we stand. This is a very clear choice of stay or go, there is no gray area here.

At the same time Mars is squaring Chiron (while Chiron and Saturn are still in square aspect and will be for most of this year) and for that I see the impatient side of us that is ready to move on having an argument with the part of us that wants to see if  ‘one more time’ gets the results we have wanted. This is part of our surrender too, allowing situations to end by recognizing that they have come to the ‘end of their energy road’. Sometimes these endings feel like a failure because we have given so much and worked so hard to create that outcome. We did not fail and cannot fail when an outcome depends on what someone else is going to choose.

Then we have lots of forward moving, disruptive Aries energy all month with a strongly aspected Uranus, the planet of genius, revolution, new ideas, and bold transformation, and Eris, the planet of discord. Mercury and Venus both went direct on the Uranus/Eris degree of 25 Aries so we have the energy to accomplish our deepest desires this month.  How we do that is up to us but the energy is there to support and sustain us. We’re driving this car, it’s important to remember that when things go a little sideways, as they can when there is this much energy moving around.

And we still have strong aspects with transformational Pluto and disciplinarian Saturn in the mix, which are there to remind us that the past is gone and we need to face forward. While we may regret what did not work out the way we wanted, there is always a new dawn, a new day, new potentials, and a fresh start.

How will that play out in your life? It depends on how far you are willing to allow transformation. If you are willing to go all out, then expect big results. If not, your results will reflect how far out of your comfort zone you are willing to go. But don’t worry, this show is not over yet and you can grab the opportunity on the next replay.

On a societal scale, we are seeing the results of the gaps between awareness and understanding create a lot of rifts between people. While new truths are out there for all to see, how much ‘new truth’ someone can accept depends on their level of understanding. The idea of our unlimited potential, being masterful creators, multi-dimensionality, and intergalactic connections is just too much for some people who just want to go home, put their feet up and watch the next episode of Wheel of Fortune with the ageless Pat Sajak and Vanna white.

Globally this month has much promise, depending on which side of the light you are on. Those who have been planning and orchestrating humanity’s destruction for centuries are failing quickly which will cause them to redouble their efforts as they become more desperate. The bright light here is so many people are waking up and are ready to see and integrate new truths about everything. The dis-integrating 3D paradigms are now so opened up that very little of the ‘old’ realities are relevant today. And that is a good thing.

There has been too much suffering, pain, trauma, limitation, and domination and control in the world. The agendas of war, murder, theft, and manipulation are something we no longer want. But for us to integrate the 5D energy into 3D we need to be self-aware, self-determined, and self-empowered and that’s what the energy of May is all about. So surrender to the transformation, let your bygones go on by, set your course for the peace, joy, love, and prosperity you want for yourself and extend that for all of humanity. And let’s see what we kind of new world we can create together. Have a wonderful month.

Helpful Hints: Spiritual Spring Cleaning

The Priestess and The God

Helpful Hints: Spiritual Spring Cleaning

For an easy way to spring-clean the energy in your home, consecrate a bowl of salt and water, then dip your magickal broom (not your everyday one) in the water and flick it around the corners and entrances to each room. While you’re doing this, don’t forget to visualize all the negativity being swept away!

BROOMSTICK

Brooms aren’t just for sweeping-at least not in the way that most people think.

Witches use brooms to clear away negativity from a room (spring cleaning, anyone?) or a ritual circle.

Brooms are also a symbol of Witches and Witchcraft that have been in use for centuries. They represent the freedom of flying (alas, only in our minds and spirits for most of us, unless we’re Harry Potter) and the comfort of hearth and home.

A Witch’s broom should never be used for everyday cleaning, but feel free to keep another broom for that-they are a handy household tool. As with your other tools, a ritual broom should be carefully tended and only used for magickal purposes.

One way to keep a special broom if you’re still “in the broom closet” is to craft one out of broom straw, aromatic herbs, and colorful foliage (topped off with a spritz of glycerin to make it last), and hang it on your wall in full sight. After all, no one but you needs to know it is anything other than a clever, crafty decoration. (If you’re craft-impaired, you can also just buy a pre-decorated rated broom and hang it up. I’ll never tell.)

Hold your hands over the computer or peripheral and visualize it working flawlessly. Wait until you feel the energy begin to flow between your hands and the object, then say something like:

I build an aura around you
A circuit of protection, true
By Waxing Moon it grows and thrives
Protecting jumpers, cables, drives
And every part that’s capsulized
Within your body and comprise
The mechanism that you are;
A strong protection that now bars
All mishaps that might come your way
I seal you from this very day
By circuit of my energy
As I will, so mote it be

Magickal Applications for Wednesday

Egypt

Magickal Applications for Wednesday

To the Romans, this day was called Dies Mercurii, or “Mercury’s day” Mercury was a popular character in the Roman pantheon. A messenger of the gods, he presided over commerce, trade, and anything that required skill or dexterity. The Celts also worshiped Mercury and eventually equated him with the Norse god Odin (some spelling variations on this name include Wotan, Wodin, and Wodan). In Norse mythologies, Odin, like Mercury, is associated with poetry and music. Interestingly enough, both Odin and Mercury were regarded as psychopomps, or the leaders of souls, in their individual mythologies.

Odin, one of the main gods in Norse mythology, was constantly seeking wisdom. He traveled the world in disguise as a one-eyed man with a long gray beard, wearing an old, beat-up hat and carrying a staff or a spear (which brings to my mind images of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings). In the Old English language, this day of Mercury evolved into Wodnes daeg, “Woden’s day,” or Wednesday.

Wednesday carries all of the planetary and magickal energies and associations of the witty and nimble god Mercury himself. Some of these mercurial traits included good communication skills, cleverness, intelligence, creativity, business sense, writing, artistic talent, trickiness, and thievery. And don’t forget all of those wise and enigmatic qualities associated with the Norse god Odin/Wodin, not to mention the goddess Athena’s contributions of music, the arts, handmade crafts, and writing. Wednesdays afford excellent opportunities for seeking wisdom, changing your circumstances, and improving your skills, be they in trade and commerce, music and art, or in communication and writing.

Be bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.

Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? Odin is a shaman, after all; he may appear in many guises and faces. I guarantee that he will make you laugh at yourself before he is through with you, but you will learn. It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?

Wednesday is the wild and wily day of the week, so try to go with the flow; don’t fight the quirky energies of the day. Most importantly, follow your heart, and always keep a good sense of humor, because of Wednesdays you will really need it.

Today on May 3rd, We Celebrate……

Hakata Dontaku (Japan)
AMATERASU

Themes: Sun, tradition, unity, blessings, community, kinship
Symbols: Mirror, gold or yellow items

About Amaterasu: Amaterasu is unique among goddesses, being one of the few women to personify the sun. In Japan she rules over cultural unity, kinship, and the blessings that someone with the name “Illuminating Heave” might be expected to bestow. It is Amaterasu’s sun that nudges the greenery to reach toward her light, just as her gentle enery prods us toward reestablishing harmony in all our relationships.

To Do Today: The first week of May in Japan is called Golden Week, and it’s a time when Amatersasu’s solar geauty really shines. The Hakata festival is a national holiday that includes celebrations for children and a special parade depicting Japan’s legendary deities. Take a moment to join te festivities long-distance. Remember Amaterasu by wearing gold-colored items today and opening as many curtains as possible to let in her glorious light.

Once the curtains are opened, take a hand mirror and reflect the light into every corner of your home. This draws Amaterasu’s unifying energy into your living space and guards against discord among all who dwell therein. Also, to ensure that no malevolence enters from outside the home, put a mirror facing outward in an eastern window. This is a Buddist custom for turning away negativity and evil influences.

The Magickal Day of Wednesday

Egyptian God

The Magickal Day of Wednesday

Wednesday is named for Woden himself, although the Romans called it dies Mercurii. This is a day associated with the color purple, the planet Mercury, and the metal quicksilver – which is also called mercury. See a pattern here?

When it comes to deities… yes, Mercury! However, there are a few other gods associated with Wednesday, including Odin and Hermes, Athena, and Lugh. Gemstones like adventurine and agate come in handy as well, as do plants such as aspen trees, lilies, lavender and even ferns.

Business and job-related issues, communication, loss and debt, traveling, and journeys are all tied in to Wednesday. This is a good day to do a working to open up lines of communication – especially if your own actions are preventing you from being an effective speaker or listener. Go someplace new or return to an old favorite stomping ground, step up your game, and settle up your accounts.

The Sky This Week for May 3 to May 7

DHG-Egyptian Fantasy

The Sky This Week for May 3 to May 7

The Summer Triangle, Jupiter at opposition, and other beautiful things to look for in the sky this week.
By Richard Talcott

Wednesday, May 3

The Big Dipper’s familiar shape lies nearly overhead on May evenings. The spring sky’s finest binocular double star marks the bend in the Dipper’s handle. Mizar shines at 2nd magnitude, some six times brighter than its 4th-magnitude companion, Alcor. Even though these two are not physically related, they make a fine sight through binoculars. (People with good eyesight often can split the pair without optical aid.) A small telescope reveals Mizar itself as double — and these components do orbit each other.

Thursday, May 4

For those who like to observe during the quiet predawn hours, Saturn offers a visual treat this week. The ringed planet rises shortly before midnight local daylight time and climbs some 30° high in the south by the time morning twilight begins. It shines at magnitude 0.2 against the backdrop of northwestern Sagittarius. Take a look at Saturn through binoculars and you’ll also see the open star clusters M21 and M23 as well as the spectacular Lagoon (M8) and Trifid (M20) nebulae about 4° to the east. When viewed through a telescope, the planet shows an 18″-diameter disk surrounded by a stunning ring system that spans 41″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

Friday, May 5

Although the calendar says May, the sky’s Summer Triangle returns to prominence this month. The asterism’s three bright stars — Vega in Lyra, Deneb in Cygnus, and Altair in Aquila — all clear the horizon by midnight local daylight time. An hour later, they rule the eastern sky. Vega shines brightest and appears at the apex of the triangular asterism. Look for Deneb to Vega’s lower left and Altair to the lower right of the other two. The Summer Triangle will grace the Northern Hemisphere’s evening sky from now through the end of the year.

Saturday, May 6

The Eta Aquariid meteor shower reaches its peak before dawn. Although this is typically one of the year’s most prolific showers, a waxing gibbous Moon interferes with the 2017 show. The Moon sets around 4 a.m. local daylight time, just before morning twilight starts to paint the sky. For the best views, head outside an hour or two before then and find a spot where trees or buildings block the Moon’s glow low in the west. Eta Aquariid meteors derive from bits of debris ejected by Comet 1P/Halley during its many trips around the Sun. When Earth crosses this debris stream, our planet’s atmosphere incinerates the tiny dust particles and we see the streaks of light called meteors, or “shooting stars.”

Sunday, May 7

Although Jupiter reached opposition and peak visibility exactly one month ago, it remains a stunning sight nearly all night. It appears about 40° above the southeastern horizon an hour after sunset and climbs highest in the south around 11 p.m. local daylight time. As a bonus this evening, a waxing gibbous Moon appears just a few degrees away. The pair lies among the background stars of Leo, though only 1st-magnitude Spica some 10° below appears conspicuous thanks to the bright Moon nearby. When viewed through a telescope, Jupiter’s disk spans 43″ and shows a wealth of detail in its atmosphere.

Mars passes 6° due north (to the upper right) of Aldebaran today. Use binoculars to pick them out of the evening twilight. Although Aldebaran shines a half-magnitude
