February 4 Moon Goddess’ Current Phase

Today the Moon will be in a Third Quarter phase. Sometimes called a Last Quarter Moon, this phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New Moon when the Moon is three quarter of the way through it’s orbit around the earth. If you live in the northern hemisphere the Moons left side will be illuminated and the right side will be dark. For those of you in the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite with the right side illuminated. On the day of the Third Quarter phase the Moon will rise around midnight on the eastern horizon and set in the west around noon the next day. In the days following the Third Quarter Phase the Moon’s illumination will decrees each day until the New Moon.

Welcome February!

While Spring Equinox marks the official start of Spring, there is another festival that marks the unofficial “stirrings” of Spring called Imbolc (celebrated February 1-2). It is the quickening of the Goddess as she prepares to cast off Winter and turn her energy to the renewal of Earth. Think of a seed deep within Gaia, the promise of new growth. This is the time when those seeds are quickening, preparing to burst, and eventually bloom into the fertility of Spring. The light grows as well, pulling us steadily out of the darkness of winter. We know Spring is coming even as we remain deep in the womb of Goddess. The church appropriated this ancient Feast and calls it Candlemas and it also coincides with our Beloved Goddess Brigid’s Day.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are entering the in-between Winter time. Could be snow, could be a crocus. Could be 5 degrees, could be 50 degrees. HolyDays and celebrations mark another turn on the Goddess Wheel of the Year and usher in the early Spring festivals like Chinese New Year, Vasant Panchami (Saraswati’s birthday), and Ganesha’s Spring celebration that all occurred at the end of January.

From Pennsylvania USA, Groundhog Day 2021: Punxsutawney Phil predicts 6 more weeks of winter

I don’t know about all of you but even as a child I thought they had the predictions backwards. I mean wouldn’t it make more sense if the groundhog didn’t see his shadow that there would be 6 more weeks of winter? Anyway, no matter whether Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow or not according to the Sabbat dates on our Northern Hemisphere Wheel of The Year from Imbolc we go approximately 6 weeks and 4 to 5 days to when we celebrate Ostara. I wonder if it means 6 more weeks until fall starts in the Southern Hemisphere? Today is Lammas in the Southern Hemisphere and the end of the 6 weeks and 4 to 5 days would be on Mabon. Well enough of my ramblings on the actual Groundhog Day not the movie.

Cold, Deary and/or Changing Weather Effects on Persons Can Cause a Multitude of Problems for Many People

I am sorry for not being able to let you all know what is going on with the daily posts until today. The following is not an excuse for me not posting but an explanation of why I have not done so. My fibromyalgia flare has been so bad since last week that I could even wear anything but a very loose fitting robe. Anything that touched my body in anyway sent me into tears.  I also have to deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder, Clinic depression, and arthritis though out my body. I fight them all the best I can but some days or serval days some or all of them catch up to me. Which is what happened starting last Friday. It is just starting to taper off so I hope to be back to catch up birthday horoscopes and do regular daily posting again sometime this week on WOTC. Plus go back to posting on Coven Life more often. It has taken me almost an hour to get this typed and to find information of the fore mentioned medical problems. I am sure I am not the only one out here in cycberland having to deal with with some or all of these problems. I am on medication for the fibromyalgia, Clinical Depression, and Anxiety attacks. I use White Willow Bark and Passionflower tea for the athirst.
