Daily Cosmic Calendar for Monday, Sept. 30th

After two rousing days over the weekend, the cosmos appears to be letting down its guard a little on the last day of the month. Instead, of foisting on humanity tumultuous happenings via planetary alignments at cross purposes, there is a lighter touch in the early going as Venus in Scorpio forms an inspirational, 72-degree contact with Juno in Aquarius (6:03AM). You may recall that only 16 days ago, these two celestial bodies squared off in a 90-degree clash. Now they are working together in tandem — to facilitate feminine interests, reinforce creative artistic expression, and improve the quality of primary partnerships.  A little over nine hours later, ingenious ideas are inundating the brightest minds in the human kingdom via a harmonious trine in fire signs between Pallas in Leo and Uranus in Aries (3:22PM). If you ever wanted to sign up for an advanced course in problem-solving and strategic-thinking, this is the right moment.  However, just when it seems the universal powder keg appears to be dry or empty, along comes the monthly Moon-Mars conjunction in Leo (7:04PM) — repeating the same union in Leo that happened between these two celestial bodies on the first day of September. While the lunar orb merging with the red planet can equate with acts of faith, courage, stamina or heroism, it is just as likely to push some individuals toward reckless behavior, angry encounters with dear ones, and irrational displays of temper. Knowing the shadow side involved in this sky pattern can help you defuse volatile conditions before they heat up toward a firestorm.  The month ends in questionable fashion as the Moon squares Venus (9:49PM) — beginning a void lunar uncertainty zone that lasts until 11:53AM tomorrow when the Moon enters Virgo. Be sensitive and kindhearted to family members on the ropes overnight.  Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.

Your Daily Cosmic Calendar for December 29th

As mentioned at the end of yesterday’s calendar entry, the Sun and Jupiter are vying for supremacy during their off-kilter, 150-degree encounter (12:28AM PST). The Sun can never go retrograde from the Earth’s vantage point, but Jupiter — like all the other major planets and asteroids — can appear to go into reverse each year and does so for 3 to 4 months at a time.  Jupiter went retrograde in Gemini on October 4, 2012 and won’t return to forward motion until January 30, 2013. Since Jupiter is the largest planet, it has much to do with large-scale professional plans and big business ventures. Trying to push these kinds of activities ahead right now may be foolish because these two biggest celestial bodies in our solar system are at odds with each other.  In addition, the Moon in Cancer is back in one of its lengthy void sessions and won’t step out of that characteristic until 11:46PM PST tonight. In the meantime, tensions may be afflicting the communication and transportation realms as Mercury squares Pallas (7:27AM PST). Snafus and mix-ups can increase mental tensions. Nevertheless, if you want to try and tweak this Mercury-Pallas interaction in order to be a savvy problem-solver, you have several hours within which to reveal your versatile skills.  Welcome the end of the void lunar cycle in Cancer (11:46PM PST) as the Moon enters heart-centered Leo — the Moon’s zodiacal placement through the start of the New Year.
