Attract Money Charm, and a Wiccan Dianic-Aradian Ritual

Attract Money Charm, and a Wiccan Dianic-Aradian Ritual

I. Preparation

Assemble your items. Gather some strong red thread, a whole nutmeg, and a paper money bill. Drill a hole through the nutmeg. You will also need sewing scissors or something to cut the thread.

On one of the nights of the waxing moon, set up your altar with two white candles, one for Aradia and one for Diana. A third candle, red, white, or yellow, will represent the sacred fire. If necessary, other candles may be used for illumination. If you are outside, all candles will have to be in glass chimneys to protect them from being blown out. Don’t forget the matches. Representations of the other three elements, feather for air, bowl of spring water for water, stone for earth, should also be arranged on the altar. A cup or goblet of wine or juice to salute the Goddess should be on the altar as well. If you are inside, you will need a shallow dish to catch the libations. This libation bowl or dish may have stones, sand, or potting soil in it, or it may be empty. If you would like incense, vervain would be suitable, as would any scent associated with Diana or Aradia. Incense is not required for this ritual. If you prefer, the incense could stand as a representative of the element of air.

II. Set aside sacred space

Cast a circle and call the four elements in your usual manner. Otherwise simply visualize a circle of protective light forming around you, as you say:

By the air of the winds at night,
By the fire of the home’s hearth,
By the water of the lake reflecting moonlight,
By the stones and trees of the ancient mountains,
By Dea della stella, this circle is cast.

Light the two white candles, saying:

Hail Aradia! Hail Diana!

Light the third candle, saying:

Blessed be, creatures of fire, flames of Vesta-Diana.

Light any other candles you need for illumination.

III. Invoke Deity

Use an invocation suitable for the purpose of making a prosperity charm, such as the one below.

Hail Diana, mystery of the white moon among the stars, by growth and light and sprouting green, I invoke you; Hail Aradia, daughter of Diana, secret queen of witches; Hail and welcome.

IV. Make Magic Charm

The ideal time to make this charm is under a waxing moon. Thread the hole in the nutmeg with the red thread three times. Fold the bill accordian-style, very small, and tie it to the nutmeg with the thread, again wrapping it three times.

V. Bless the Charm

The power of focused will while making it can bless this charm, but a verbal blessing, such as below, may be spoken:

Blessed be, fragrant nutmeg. As this red thread drew this money to you, nutmeg, draw more money to me. By the increasing power of the moon, by the power of Aradia, by the power of three, draw to me money.O Diana of the heavens and earth, you are the pillar of life whose breasts are as many as dates upon a green tree. Let me have no want. Let me have enough. So mote it be.

VI. Charge and Bind the Spell

Cup your hands around the charm without touching it. Visualize a spark of light between your palms. Will this light to permeate the charm, empowering it. Visualize your purse full of money, and your bank account with a significant surplus balance. Feed energy into the sphere of light, so that the charm is strong.

Trace a pentangle, the endless knot, in the air over the charm to bind the spell fast.

VII. Thanksgiving to Deity

You may wish to enact the simple feast with juice and bread. If you prefer, you may simply salute the Goddesses with wine or juice:

Diana and Aradia, beautiful ones, in your honor I spill two libations. In celebration of you, I drain the goblet deep.

If you are outside, pour two offerings of liquid on the ground. If you are inside, pour the liquid into the libation bowl, which may be emptied outside later. Drink the rest of the juice or wine.

Thank you, lovely Goddesses of the moon, for your gifts, for your magic, for your presense here.

VIII. Return to Mundane Space

Bid farewell to the four elements and erase the circle in your usual manner. Otherwise, simply visualize the ring of light fading away while saying:

By the air of Diana’s ride upon the winds,
By the fire of Diana’s hearth,
By the water of Diana’s reflective lake,
By the stones and green trees of Diana’s mountains,
By the Goddess of the moon and stars, this circle is erased.

The charm should be kept in your purse, which you may annoint with a “Money Drawing” oil. To protect the charm, you could bind it in a small, red bag and renew the oil every new moon.

Spell for Those Who Merit the Favor of Aradia

Spell for Those Who Merit the Favor of Aradia

Whatever a thing should be asked of the spirit of Aradia, that should be granted to those who merit her favor.

“Thus do I seek Aradia, Aradia, Aradia, Aradia! At midnight, at midnight, at midnight, I go into a field, and with me I have water, wine, and salt, I bear water, wine, and salt, and my talisman–my talisman, my talisman, and a small red bag which I hold in my hand–con dentro, con dentro, sale, with salt in it, in it. With water and wine, I bless myself, I bless myself with devotion to implore a favor from Aradia, Aradia.

	Aradia! My Aradia,
	You who are the daughter
	Of the oldest of spirits,
	Of the sun and moon;
	Your mother desired
	To make you a spirit,
	A benevolent spirit,
	And not malevolent!

Aradia! Aradia! Much do I implore you,
By the love which your mother has for you,
	By the love which I also feel for you;
I pray you will grant me this favor
And send me an omen if this favor be granted."

The Aradia Charge

The Aradia Charge

I am Aradia
Daughter of the sea
And daughter of the wind
Daughter of the Sun
And daughter of the Moon
Daughter of dawn
And daughter of sunset
Daughter of night
And daughter of mountainsAnd I have sung the song of the sea
And I have listened to the sighing of the wind
I have heard the hidden secrets of the Sun
And I have drunk the tears of the Moon
And the sorrow of the sunset
I have lain ‘neath the darkest dark of night
And I have beheld the might of mountains

For I am stronger than the sea
And freer than the wind
I am brighter than Sun
And more changing than the Moon
I am the hope of the dawn
And the peace of the sunset
I am more mysterious than night
And older than the mountains
Older than time itself
For I am she who was
Who is
And who will be
For I am Aradia.

This marvelous piece of ritual poetry can be found in Vivianne Crowley’s wonderful book, Wicca, The Old Religion in the New Age, 1989, p. 174. The above brief passage is quoted as a sample of Dr. Crowley’s writing as a Wiccan high priestess. Anyone studying the Old Religion is encouraged to purchase her book.

According to private correspondence with Dr. Crowley on January 15, 2015, the Charge of Aradia was not created for use in a specific rite. “It’s something that just came to me when I was meditating as a visitation from the Goddess…. Since then I have used it as a charge, but I haven’t used it as an invocation.”

As this Charge was written in 1968, I believe it represents a significant and early example of Wiccan literature surrounding the figure of Aradia.

Rhyming Invocations to the Elements

Soft scented stillness that warns of the storm
Whisper of wisdom full living and warm
Breathe into us wonder at all we may know
Welcome, wise wind, from wherever you blow.

Bright spark of courage, blaze of desire
The passion for change is a wild, raging fire
Kindled by will, it burns in our veins
Welcome within us, our hearts are your flames

Power of water, power to feel
Rising within us, ancient and real
Soothed into softness or tossed to extremes
Welcome, wild waves from the depths of our dreams

Mother in waiting, child in the womb
Newly strung thread waits the night on the loom
Earth that we come from, Earth where we go
Welcome, as you welcomed us long ago.

The Witches Magick for Thursday, March 8th – Triumph over Trauma Spell

Spring Fairy On A Swing

The Witches Magick for Thursday, March 8th – Triumph over Trauma Spell

TRIUMPH over TRAUMA

Some people require professional help to overcome past traumatic events. If you feel up to it, this gentle meditation might support your healing.

If you were making a talisman, you would use Agrimony to repel negative emotions and Wormwood to banish anger. If you can’t find either one as oil or incense, you may use Lavender instead. A small twig from an Ash tree also helps to remove unwanted energies. Your touch stones, which you will use during the spell and as a reminder afterwards, is Danburite for release from the past and Carnelian to overcome past abuse

QUICK SPELL

Find a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. You will need the following items: one white candle, oil and/ or incense, ash twig and touch stones.

If you’re using oil, anoint your forehead. Light the candle and the incense and sit silently for a few moments while holding the stone. Close your eyes and ask for the energy of the dark moon to guide your meditation. When you feel the time is right, say the following affirmation:

Let a new door open to a better world, for this is what I truly deserve. So mote it be.

Hold the touch stone, (and Ash if you have it), close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly. See yourself standing in front of a black door, holding the touch stones and the ash twig for protection. Behind it is the trauma from your past. Open the door slowly and look inside. If it’s not too painful, try to step inside and recall the incident that traumatized you, or at least a tiny portion of it. Know that you are safe, you can always walk out through the door whenever you choose.

Stay as long as you are comfortable, at least until the image starts to fade and the painful feelings begin to subside. Then step back and close the door. You will notice that the door is now white, a clean slate with no bad memories. Open it once again and see that the negative issue has faded into nothingness.

When you are ready, extinguish the candle and give thanks for your blessings and your new sense of peace and relief.

AFTER THE QUICK SPELL OR CEREMONY

Now, any time you feel the pain of past traumas creeping up on you, remember the white door visualization. Hold the touch stones and recall the affirmation. These actions will create a positive and lasting link in your mind.

You can cleanse and recharge your touch stone during full moons and Wheel of the Year festivals. Blessed be!

Witches Herbal Cleansing Spell

Witches Herbal Cleansing Spell

To make an herbal cleansing bottle, pour a layer of sand in a large clear bottle. Add layers of dried herbs, one at a time: first rosemary; then lemon peel, sage, cedar, black peppercorns, lavender, dill, bay leaf, and rowan. When the bottle is full, focus cleansing protective energy into the herbs and sand, and see a golden light radiating from the bottle.

Visualize the herbs driving away negative influences. Cork and seal the bottle with white wax. Using a permanent marker, draw the Algiz rune on one side of the bottle, and on the other side draw a pentagram.

Set the bottle near your front or back door, and every six months, uncap, pour herbs out into the woods or your compost heap, and thoroughly wash and dry the bottle before filling it with a new round of herbs.

Cutting the Cord Spell

Cutting the Cord Spell

When one has been involved (either Emotionally, Physically or Spiritually) with another person it can create an ‘Etheric Link’ that resembles a red cord binding between you. When the friendship or relationship ends it is often difficult to move on, as you are still linked to this person. The Cutting of the Cord Spell is ideal in dissolving the bonds between people allowing them to move on.

You Will Need:

–2 Red Candles, Length of Red Cord
–A photograph of you and your friend or ex (or a picture to represent you both drawn)
–A pair of scissors.

Preparation: Bathe & Cleanse yourself before starting, set out materials, and Cast a Basic Magickal Circle.

The Spell

Mark the first Candle with your name and the second Candle with the other person’s name. Charge the Candles with Anointing Oil, starting from the center moving outwards (sending energy out), seeing the person named on the Candle as you anoint it. Take the first Candle in your hand hold it over your Altar Candle visualizing it being Charged with energy to do your bidding, then present the Candle to the Altar saying:

As the Goddess gave form and substance to our spirits,
I give form and substance to this candle,
As She named us Her children,
I name this Candle as (insert name).
As this Candle is wax and wick,
So it is also flesh and blood, So Mote it be!

Repeat with second Candle.

Sit in meditation and think of the joy this person brought you, picture your favorite memory. Visualize the link between your hearts as a thick red cord joining you from heart Chakra to heart Chakra. Tie an end of the cord to each candle, joining you together, as you are joined in spirit. Place the photo or picture over the center of the cord saying:

As the Goddess links us in Spirit, I link these forms together, As above, so below, As within, so without!

Again sit in meditation, and think of the reasons you want to cut all ties to this person, think about the events that have lead up to this decision. Face any doubts that you may have and see them for what they are, fear. Know in your heart that the Goddess wants only the best for you and She wants you to want the best for yourself. When you are ready visualize yourself telling the other that it is over and that you are moving on, then see yourself turn and walk away – not looking back!

Cut through the Cord that binds you to each other (as well as through the picture symbolizing your togetherness) and say:

By my free will, with harm to none,
I sever the cord that binds me to (insert name),
As we once chose to share the road we walked,
Now we choose to walk a different path,
Although we still journey to the same destination,
No longer do our steps move in time you are no longer my friend (or
lover), I release the (insert name) from all ties to me
As I am released from thee, As I do will, so mote it be!

Take the candle, 1/2 the cord and 1/2 the picture (the part representing your ex)
in a heatproof bowl, tip a little ‘goodwill incense’ over it all, with a little mentholated spirits, then as you light it say:

As this smoke rises and drifts away,
So do all my bonds to you… So mote it be!

Place ‘your’ candle on your Altar to burn when you find yourself wishing ‘what if’.
Clean up and Close Circle, then bury everything else except your candle.

Spell for Breaking a Binding Spell

Spell for Breaking a Binding Spell

Some binding spells can cause physical manifestations. You feel as if invisible strands of hair or thin strings are wrapped around you. You can’t see them but you can feel them and nothing you do can make that sensation stop. Here is a way to dispel a binding.

Cut a bit of your own hair and set it in a small bowl. Light 3 candles, 1 red, 1 white and 1 green. In a fire safe bowl or incense brazier, light a piece of charcoal and add some myrrh, patchouli and sandalwood incense (powdered kind not cone or stick). Take a sterile needle or pin and prick your right index finger.

Squeeze three drops of blood into the smoldering incense. As you drop the hair onto the lit incense repeat these words:

With blood, candle and scent times three
No longer shall this binding be
Free to live and free to soar
Let me leave the house once more.
As I burn this hair, a part of me
Let my heart and soul be free!
And for those who doth cast despair
Binding me with sightless hair
I send to them this well-earned curse
Let their evil spell reverse!
Teach them mercy and love’s sweet gift
Once learned, this simple spell shall lift.
As is my will, so mote it be!

Let the incense burn out and scatter the ashes outside. Lifting the binding spell should take care of the problem. Keep an eye on those around you.
Someone who wished you ill will start to experience the torment they put you through. Once they understand that what they did was wrong, then the sensation will fade and they will be back to normal.

Spell for Breaking a Love Curse

Spell for Breaking a Love Curse

If you think you have been cursed, and that is why you are unlucky in love, you need to make a supplication to Aphrodite, asking her to intervene. This supplication should be done on a Thursday evening at dusk.

Light 1 purple candle and 1 pink one. Burn 7 pine needles in a bowl or brazier. Offer the goddess three red roses, 1 for each stage of a woman’s life (Maiden, Mother and Crone). Then ask her to bless you in love and to break any curse that may exist. Pour your heart out to her. Ask forgiveness for any and every thing you have ever done to hurt another who loved you. Offer to make amends by doing something in Aphrodite’s name.

Make a commitment to showering your future partners with love and romance. Vow never to be unfaithful, etc. Be respectful when addressing Aphrodite and be honest. Do not make empty promises or break the ones you make. If you say you will do something, do it. If you do not, you may not like the result.

There is no spell for this one, no incantation. You simply speak from the heart and if you are sincere, she will answer. Aphrodite can be a generous, loving goddess, guiding us towards bliss. Or she can be a vengeful harridan.

Be warned, if the reason you are “unlucky” is because you have been unfaithful, abusive, cruel, or otherwise wasteful of Love’s gifts, you will face her wrath unless you agree to immediately change your ways, and then do so.

Spell to Break the Powers of a Spell

Spell to Break the Powers of a Spell

You Need:

Black candle

Water

Black bowl

Place the candle into the black bowl, fix the candle to the bowl using the wax drippings from the candle so that it stands alone. Fill the bowl to the rim with fresh water, without wetting the wick. Breathe deeply and meditate for a few minutes. When your mind is clear, light the candle. Visualize the power the spell cast against you as living within the candles flame.

As the candle burns down, it will sputter and go out as it touches the water. As it is extinguished by the water, the spell is broken. Finally, dig a hole into the ground, pour the water into it, then bury the candle.

A Pagan Blessing for the Dead

purple celtic cross

A Pagan Blessing for the Dead

Choose four participants. One carries a rock, representing the earth, and stands to the North. One carries a feather, representing Air, and stands to the East. Another stands to the South, carrying a candle or some incense to represent Fire. A fourth can hold a cup of Water to the West — if you’re fortunate enough to hold your ritual near an ocean or river, use that to represent Water. On your altar, in the center of the circle, place a picture or some other memento of the person you are saying goodbye to.

Form a circle, and call upon the elements. Invite the powers of the four directions to come watch over you. Stand in the center and say:

Take me now, take me now
for to face the Summerlands*.
By the earth and wind and the fire and rain
I’m on my way,remember me.

Turn to the North and say:

Take me now back to the earth
from which we spring and then return.
I shall cross over, now it is my turn.
I am not afraid Remember me.

Repeat this verse, turning to each of the four directions. Substitute the different elements where appropriate.

Finally, touch each family member with your athame as you say the following:

Blood of my blood
Bone of my bone
Flesh of my flesh
Keep my soul alive
I will live on
Within your hearts
I am not afraid
Remember me

If you have ashes for the deceased, you may wish to scatter them at this time. Take a moment to reflect on the good memories you have of your departed friend or family member.

*If your particular tradition believes we go to some other place after death, feel free to substitute the appropriate place name for “Summerlands.” If you’re not sure where we end up, you can simply say “the other side.”

A MAGIC REQUEST TO THE LADY FOR STRONGER POWER

Lady Moon has spread her fingers of night over my patch of reality,
And she watches me as I stand beneath her encompassing gaze
Away from those who would cloud my vision.
Her sister stars glitter through the sky and sing for the night.
Mother, please fill me with your beauty and reveal to me the mysteries of your silent domain.
My heart holds naught but love for you,
My soul wishes to sing in harmony with its sisters within your embrace.
In love and respect I come before you
And I ask to be blessed with the power of Lady Moon.

Bathe and meditate while using this breathing method.

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

When through, visualize the negative energy flowing out through the drain.

O Great Mother Goddess and Father God
You who are all yet nothing.
Beyond explanation and understanding.
I ask thee to grant my request this night.
I ask that you take the negativity that was sent to me
And send it swirling into the Universe.
Let it be sent back to the sender three fold
And as a lesson of what is right and wrong.
Let the residual energy be sent to me three fold
With loving, caring healing positive energy.
I ask that you grant this request.
I also thank Thee for your kindness and caring attention.
I ask this in the power of three So Mote it Be!
