The Witches Magick for the 6th Day of the Snow Moon – Incense and Peppermints Dream Spell

SpellCaster

Incense and Peppermints Dream Spell

This spell is to stir your passion for life and love.

You will need a cup of vanilla tea, frankincense incense, music conducive to dream magic, and a peppermint candy cane.

Begin by brewing the tea and lighting the incense. Put on the music and lick the candy cane three times, savoring its sweet peppermint taste. Take a deep breath and let the aroma of the incense fill your nostrils, and say:

Incense and peppermint, awaken the passion in me

So that I might truly come alive, so mote it be!

Stir the tea with the candy cane three times, and say three times:

Awaken my passion, blessed be!

Eat the candy cane and drink the tea, enjoying every last bit of it. Let your senses continue to enjoy the aroma of the incense and sound of the music. As you drift to sleep, imagine your senses aroused and waiting to be fully awakened. Give yourself the suggestion:

Tonight my dreams are sensuous and filled with passion.

The Basic Steps in Spellcraft

As in crafting rituals, creating and casting a spell follow a certain sequence of events. While every spell is different, the basic steps are:

  1. Establish your need or desire. Doing a spell for the sake of doing a spell is a waste of time and energy. Why trouble the web and the pattern of energy around you if you don’t have to?
  2. Compose your spell. It is essential to determine a clear and precisely defined goal. Take the time to think about your desired outcome. Think, too, about the energies you wish to incorporate or call upon to help you achieve that goal.
  3. Shift consciousness. Your mind must be in the correct mode for working spells. A mind overrun by everyday thoughts isn’t very efficient at gathering energies, weaving them into a tight and well-focused spell, and then releasing them toward a goal. Shifting your consciousness allows you to attain a different state of mind ideal for ritual or spell-craft. You need to be able to filter out the surface noise and distractions to concentrate and focus on what you’re doing. (This state is often referred to as alpha.)
  4. Raise energy and release it toward your goal. Spells are powered by the energies possessed by the correspondences you incorporate in your spell and by your own personal energy as well.
  5. Manifestation. Ideally, the final step is the achievement of your goal.

How Spells Work

Everything in the world emits an energy vibration of some kind, with different things having different signatures. Sometimes a signature is referred to as possessing a different level of vibration. A higher level is usually considered more spiritual and closer to the gods; a lower vibration indicates something more material. These energies reach out to touch one another, forming what amounts to a giant spider web of energy that crisscrosses around the world. It also connects the physical and nonphysical worlds. (Neo-Pagan literature refers to this as “the web.”)

As everything is connected in this fashion, it is possible to have an effect on things simply by twitching the web in one place and allowing the resulting vibration to flow along the web until it reaches your goal. The web is also how we can send energy to someone or something far away from us—the strands of energy that connect all organic and living things serve as wires through which we can send our energy.

Celebrating 365 Days of Legends, Folklore & Spirituality for Friday, November 6th – Tiamat, St. Leonard

Dark Magic

November 6th

Tiamat, St. Leonard

In ancient Babylonian culture this day was celebrated as the birth of Tiamat, the primordial sea Goddess (the salt water), who with her consort Apsu (the sweet waters) created the world. According to mythology it was Tiamat that brought forth the heaven and earth. Sometimes she is pictured as a dragon or serpent—the unconscious in its most primitive state.

St. Leonard’s cult developed around the 11th century, when he refused to become a bishop and instead opted for being a simple monk. He was the patron of women in childbirth, having helped the queen when no one else was around. But he is most famous for his patronage of prisoners, especially those unjustly accused and bound in chains. Numbers of stories have been told of shackled prisoners that upon praying to St. Leonard found their chains broken.

The Wicca Book of Days for Friday, November 6th – Day of the Dragoness

Wiccan

November 6th

Day of the Dragoness

The birth of Tiamat is celebrated today. She was the war-like, powerful Mesopotamian creator Goddess of the seas, of the primordial waters from which all life emanated. She was depicted in the form of a dragon and revered as the mother of all the Gods. Dragons have long symbolized fertility, especially in Eastern lands, because of their association with life-giving water. Wiccans honor this aspect of the Great Dragoness, who deploys her mighty strength in the form of protection and creativity.

Waterworks

Invoke the power of the Dragoness today to enhance healing, fertility or creativity by pouring water in a cup and striking a metal bell or cymbal above it. Chant your desired outcome while the resonant note can still be heard. The element of water is linked with the unconscious mind, the moon, female intuition, conception and birth.

Must Do’s For Friday

Fridays are days of loving enchantments and passionate emotions.

See how many ways you could add a little loving enchantment into your life and the lives of your loved ones. If you wish to explore the topic of love and romance witchery even further, then check out my book How to Enchant a Man: Spells to Bewitch, Bedazzle &Beguile. If cat magick has tickled your fancy, then for further study read my book The Enchanted Cat: Feline Fascinations, Spells & Magick.

In the meantime, try sharing red berries with your partner some enchanted evening. Work that meditation, and see what other mysteries Freya has to teach you. Wear a Venus planetary color and call on the Goddess for a little inner sparkle. Burn some floral incense, light up some rosy candles, and set a romantic mood. Try wearing a little copper jewelry, and see how it affects you and your Friday magick. Get those potpourri and philter recipes going, and see what you can conjure up.

Advancing your magickal skills takes drive, ambition, and passion. Work with Eros to discover just how much enthusiasm, inspiration, and drive he can bring into your days, for the imagination is a place where dreams flourish and ideas come to fruition.

Call on these fertile and romantic powers, and create your own unique spells and charms. Just think of all the magickal information that you can now add to your repertoire of witchery. Lastly, remember this: when you combine imagination and a loving heart with magick, you’ll succeed every time.

Friday’s Witchery

Love magick is a perennial popular topic. However, there is more to this topic than meets the eye. There are many enchanting layers here for us to explore on this day of the week. What about creating a loving home, or producing a loving and nurturing family? What about keeping your intimate relationships vital and on track? How about promoting happy, healthy, and enduring friendships? See, there is more to be considered than just the “You shall be mine…” type of fictional love spell.

Don’t forget that many of the deities associated with Fridays are also parents. So, yes, while this is the day to work on romance, sex, and love spells, there is additional magick to be considered here, which makes Fridays a more well-rounded and bigger opportunity for witchery than many folks ever truly realize. The truest, strongest magick always comes from the heart.

Friday

Celtic Goddess

Friday

Ruler: Freya, Venus

Colors: Emerald green or pink

Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following.

Key Words: Love, money, health

It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. In the word Friday, we see the roots of the name of the Norse goddess Freya, a goddess of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses thus the verse “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”

In Spanish this day of the week is called Viernes and is derived from the goddess Venus. Matters of love, human interaction, the fluidity of communication, sewing and the creation of artistic garments, household improement, shopping, and party planning all fall under the aspects of Friday and its ruling planet, Venus.

Friday’s angels are Ariel/Uriel, Rachiel, and Sachiel. Rachiel also concerns himself with human sexuality and is a presiding spirit of the planet Venus.

On Fridays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Venus, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

Stay in the light

Stay in the light
Cause it shines so bright
The warmth surrounds you
You are one with the light
Make sure too
Stay in the light
Cause it shines so bright
If you’re not feeling right
Stay in the light
Even at night
There is light
Within sight
Hold on tight
With all of your might
Stay in the light
Cause it shines so bright
Within the light
Is where I am
Too shine real bright
Being a guiding light
Hoping you will
Stay in the light
Cause it shines so bright
As it warms us all
We hold on tight
To the light
That binds us all
Within the light
Let us shine through
Even when there is night
Cause in the light
We shine bright
So always be sure
Too stay in the light
Where you’ll always shine bright

Good Thursday Afternoon To All Our Precious Family & Friends!

Witchcraft
Good afternoon, my sweets! I apologize for us not being on the net today but we had some business appointments we had to keep. Had one this morning, got through with it and then run in real quick to check the messages. I decided since we have about an hour and a half before the next one, I would apologize for us not being here today. I don’t know why but I always feel obligated to let you know why we are not here. I have noticed others don’t do that but I feel guilty if I don’t, hmm! Now figure that one out, lol!

Ah, crap, who am I trying to kid? I know exactly why I feel guilty when we aren’t here. It is because we consider you a big part of our family and you are. We made a commitment 15 years ago to the Goddess and the Pagan community. When we made that commitment I never dreamed of the events or especially the people we would meet along the way. Over the years, we have made some wonderful friendships. Of course, they come and go, as to be expected. But each and everyone of them hold a special place in our heart. For the friends that have left us over the years, it saddens us and we miss them. But then we stop to realize perhaps we were only suppose to intertwine our lives for a brief moment. We have learned something from each and everyone of them, for that we are grateful. We don’t want to dwell in the past though, we look forward to all the new family and friends we have here. Out of all the place we have been on the internet, this place feels like home more than any of them. The reason it does is because of you. We have extremely good friends we have been blessed with here. I know you hear me say it all the time, “I consider you my family,” and I do. No place else have we experienced the warmth and love that comes from this site. It is funny, over the internet, you would think you wouldn’t be able to feel such things but you can. We can feel the love, the support and the caring that comes from each of you. So this site is just more than a site to us, it is our home. It is our home because each of you. I have always said the WOTC is the WOTC because of it members. Without you, it would be nothing.

So there, I said it! I feel guilty when we are not on net doing our job because of you. Each of you have given so much to us over the years. I just feel you have given us so much that when we aren’t here, we let you down. I never, ever want to let such a wonderful family as you all are down. I never want you to be disappointed with us. The last few weeks have been a madhouse around here as you know. I wanted you to know that some of these meetings are beyond our control. If I had my way, they would take place around 1 or 2 in the morning. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t operate on our schedule. I am hopeful things will be back to normal for us come Spring. So please have patience with us. We love each and everyone of you, that’s the truth. We miss not spending time with you each day. Bear with us, please.

We will be back tomorrow, I promise. Oh, crap, just thought of something……we are suppose to have some bad storms come through the area tonight, good grief! I have my fingers crossed that our internet stays up during and after they pass. That’s one thing we are changing as soon as we get through the fire business, our internet provider. The fire was just a minor sit back, come to find out it might have been for the best. We are going to be able to enlarge our existing building and also purchase some new equipment. Then we will work on the internet provider.

I do have one idea I would like to run by you, where this idea came from I don’t know but it has been haunting me. When something haunts me, I figure something or somebody is trying to tell us something. In this case, I am wondering if there is some of you out there that might need our help or just someone to talk too. Anyway, what would you think about us sitting up one night a week so you could talk to us over Skye? We haven’t checked into the cost of doing this yet, so this might just be a hair-brain idea on our part. We talked it over and decided we could set up a few hours, say from 9 to 12 on a particular night. Then if anyone was interested or needed to talk to us, they could make a small $5.00 donation and we would make them an appointment that night to talk to us. The $5.00 is to cover the cost of the operation, which I imagine is going to cost. If you really need to talk to us and it is urgent and you don’t have the money, don’t worry about. We will talk with you anyway. We aren’t selling witchcraft, we are just trying to cover the operating cost of something like that. So what do you think? Would you be interested in doing something like that? I know we have a chatroom(which we don’t use) but using Skye would be one on one. In case, you had a personal matter you didn’t want the whole world knowing about. We would like to know if this would be something you would like for us to offer or just forget. Like I said this has been haunting me for a while and I personally feel like there might be a need for something like this. So I want your opinion. Hey, we will even try to get Lady Beltane in on it too!

Well it is getting time to run. Let me know what you think about our new idea, seriously, I want to hear from you. And unless we get blown away tonight, we will see you tomorrow.

Till then, my luvs,

Lady A

Explanation: The Great Nebula in Orion, also known as M42, is one of the most famous nebulas in the sky. The star forming region’s glowing gas clouds and hot young stars are on the right in this sharp and colorful image that includes the bluish reflection nebulae NGC 1977 and friends on the left. Located at the edge of an otherwise invisible giant molecular cloud complex, these eye-catching nebulas represent only a small fraction of this galactic neighborhood’s wealth of interstellar material. Within the well-studied stellar nursery, astronomers have also identified what appear to be numerous infant planetary systems. The gorgeous skyscape spans nearly two degrees or about 45 light-years at the Orion Nebula’s estimated distance of 1,500 light-years.

Your Daily Planet Tracker: Venus in Virgo, Now Until Nov 8, 2015

Venus in Virgo

Now Until Nov 8, 2015

Venus is about love and relationships, while Virgo deals with life’s more practical matters. Superifically, this can be interpreted, then, as a period in which passion may give way to the mundane affairs of daily life. However, Virgo’s traditionally chaste image is not nearly so virginal as one might expect. It is, after all, an earth sign that appreciates the healthy functions of the human body, including sexuality.

A more balanced view is that Venus in Virgo is a time when pleasure is derived by understanding the fine details of life, be they related to love or work. An appreciation for refinement in the arts, food, nature and people is more likely during this period. This can help further the development of skills and techniques in all areas of creative expression.

In personal relationships Venus in Virgo can correspond with excess criticism. The idea is to take the sharpened perceptions of the moment and apply with a constructive, rather than destructive, attitude. In this way so-called “faults” are not reasons to tear down a person, but to clarify the issues that need attention and adjustment. This positive approach can make this a time in which relationships grow through greater awareness of what makes them tick and, thus, help to iron out the kinks. Passion flows more freely when obstacles are removed. Work makes way for love.

That handy expert in life’s little refinements, Martha Stewart, was born with Venus in Virgo, as was fellow foodie Julia Child. Tennis champions Martina Navratilova, Jimmy Connors and Arthur Ashe, and the great conqueror of more than basketball, Wilt Chamberlain, also have this in their birth charts.

Hollywood couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas share Venus in Virgo, along with singers Chrissie Hynde, Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt. Ms. Perfect Julie Andrews is a different kind of Venus in Virgo singer, as is Luciano Pavarotti. Penny Marshall, Carrie Fisher, Catherine Deneuve, Robert DeNiro, Robert Redford and Chevy Chase also belong to this group.

Conservatives Jesse Helms, Jerry Falwell and Casper Weinberger represent one end of the poltical spectrum, while George McGovern and William Kunstler come from the other. Ex-football coach Jimmy Johnson is a perfectly coiffed example of Venus in Virgo precision, but revolutionary rocker John Lennon reminds us that these symbols can stretch to include less conventional forms of personal expression.
