Though time alone might seem a little scary at first, the Hermit card indicates that for you, introspection and a place to retreat are exactly what the doctor ordered today. In order for your relationship to thrive and flourish, it’s important that you have a sense of clarity and insight into yourself. Though it’s not necessary to go join a monastery now, you will find benefit in spending more time by yourself.

Magic is afoot in love and relationships now as you exude a special magnetism and charisma that attracts others, drawing them to you and enchanting them with your charms. Decide carefully how you want to use your special powers as you stay focused on what you want in love and relationships. You have the ability to manifest many of your desires now, so make sure that you are clear about exactly what you want.

The Strength represents what you need to succeed at life, or your basic instinct to survive. Develop your Strength and you will be able to move mountains. This strength is not brute force, it is the subtle mental energy, or directed vitality and life force. Exercise your mind and body to build this strength and you will obtain your goals today. If life isn’t difficult enough, fighting against yourself makes it a hundred times worse. Inner strength removes this blockage.

This card challenges you to think of new ideas. A card of partnership, the Lovers are about creating something new by combining previously existing elements. This principle is the same in romance, love, business or social situations. If there is truly a coming together – a union of different forces – something new and possibly very exciting will grow out of it. Learning to understand and then deal with newly created energies is what every new idea grew out of.

Do you feel it is time to go? The Universe may be telling you to right the situation. Free someone or free yourself to find someone who truly cares. Do so with kindness and warmth. Believe that it hurts more to stay. If the situation is reversed and you are the recipient, thank a partner. They have done you a favor because your romantic life now takes a turn for the better.

The Emperor finds it hard to admit that he doesn’t have all the answers. He hates to admit efforts aren’t working. He doesn’t know himself, let alone know the person he considers his Significant other. He can’t admit failure. He declines to believe something that is obvious to everyone else. Do you? He knows he has to regain his power and become master of his destiny. Do you?

Keywords: receptivity, passivity, potential, knowledge, secrets!
Astrological Correspondence: The Moon
The mysterious High Priestess closely guards her secrets and occult wisdom. This card symbolizes the unconscious, a concern with our internal worlds, spiritual forces, and the understanding of higher truths through dreams and intuition. As a wise woman the High Priestess is the goddess of fertility and is seen as a healer, possessing intuitive powers and clairvoyance, and striving to create harmony and inner balance. She emphasizes the necessity to get in contact with our inner self, to reflect and meditate, to trust our feelings, and to let dreams and intuition guide us. Observing – rather than participating or acting – the High Priestess can also represent platonic love, manipulation, a pause in a process that was progressing or even a standstill, causing doubt and confusion.

Keywords: taking action, responsibility, competence, leadership!
Astrological Correspondence: Aries
As the complement to the Empress, the Emperor represents the father figure, reigning through wisdom, order, authority, power, and control. Thus he embodies the material world, structure, and order, and balances the Empress’ abundance and pure instinct. His stable leadership and authority are not to be questioned. The Emperor reminds us that rational thought, willpower, and fearlessness yield recognition and overall achievement. Through strength he creates and builds material things, families, and communities. He gives them structure, and projects are put on a solid foundation. On an emotional level this card symbolizes the confirming of established feelings, tightening of links among beings, and self-respect. In a negative situation this card can mean despotism, tyranny, self-righteousness, and hampering of any progress.
Welcome to the week of October 8! Each week a card will be pulled for your zodiac sign, offering the guidance and insight needed to maximize your opportunities and avoid any obstacles headed your way. Reveal the message the Tarot has for YOU now!
Your card for the week: Page of Swords
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to get started on an idea you’ve had, this is it! The Page of Swords indicates you’re filled with energy and excitement about a new project or venture. The question is, can you sustain this boundless enthusiasm once you get going? No matter which direction you choose in life, there are always going to be hurdles you’re going to have to overcome — but don’t let that deter you. Know that by following your passions, you will be able to keep up this momentum.
Your card for the week: 6 of Swords
This could be the week you finally release something that has been hanging over you for far too long. The 6 of Swords serves as a reminder that, although it may be difficult, sometimes we have no choice but to move on from a challenging situation. What have you been holding on to that has prevented you from creating a brighter future for yourself? Now is the time to let this go once and for all. This won’t be an easy task, but ultimately, it is the right thing to do.
Your card for the week: The Chariot
The Chariot is a card that encourages willpower, action, and self-control. This week, you’re being asked to step into your power and bravely take the reins as you propel yourself toward a goal you have. This is no time to passively wait for good things to happen to you. This card knows that anything worth having requires hard work and discipline. By strapping on your emotional and mental armor, you allow yourself to charge into your future, undeterred by whatever obstacles pop up along the way.
Your card for the week: 7 of Cups
Have you felt like you’re juggling too many things at once? This week, the 7 of Cups recognizes you have many competing priorities, and while it’s noble to lend your energy to so many different things, it has proved impossible to give the right amount of attention to any one of them. As a result, one or more of those areas have suffered. Choice can be our friend, but it can also be our enemy. Now is the time to figure out where your time and energy is best spent.
Your card for the week: 10 of Pentacles
Lucky you! The 10 of Pentacles represents security, as well as success and accomplishment. Have you not been properly recognized for your professional efforts? Has it felt like the universe has put one obstacle after another in front of you? Has money been tight? Have you felt deflated in matters of the heart? Well, good news has arrived! You could finally see things coming together for you this week in one or more of these areas, rewarding you with a sense of satisfaction for staying the course no matter how tough things were.
Your card for the week: 6 of Cups
The 6 of Cups is about the past impacting the present. This week, you’re being called to examine whether or not you’re tethered to your past in some way. While it’s true we sometimes need to look in the rearview mirror as a way of informing current or future decisions, we can easily become stuck living in the past if we’re not careful. Don’t let nostalgia or distorted memories prevent you from making progress and appreciating what’s happening in the here and now. Allow your past to be a source of improvement rather than a source of stagnation.
Your card for the week: Queen of Swords
Get ready to sit high upon your throne this week! The Queen of Swords is incredibly perceptive, embodying an intellectual sharpness and maturity that helps her tune out the noise of emotion and outside opinion. You could be facing a decision now or in the near future, and this card is serving as a reminder to rely on your logic and to look at all the facts before proceeding. You have an abundance of experience and wisdom that you can draw upon, so make sure to utilize it.
Your card for the week: Temperance
Temperance is a card of balance and moderation. Receiving this card signifies a need to keep a more go-with-the-flow attitude, practicing patience and adaptability as best you can. Perhaps you’ve been resisting a change in your life or letting a stressful situation get the best of you. If this is the case, become human Teflon. Allow things to slide off your back instead of meeting them with resistance. By finding your inner balance, you set yourself up to find your outer balance once again.
Your card for the week: 10 of Wands
Has it felt like you’ve been shouldering the weight of the world? The 10 of Wands acknowledges an immensely heavy burden you’ve been carrying around. It’s possible you’ve taken on too much in trying to meet your goals, and now it’s essential you ask for help or scale back on what you’ve committed yourself to. This may be a tough pill to swallow, because there’s issues of pride and an unwillingness to delegate at play. However, you’ve reached a point where your ability to meet your goal is compromised. You deserve to enjoy life, so ask for that helping hand this week..
Your card for the week: 5 of Cups
The 5 of Cups indicates you’ve been allowing yourself to wade in a sea of regret and disappointment. While the pain you’re feeling is very real and shouldn’t be minimized, it isn’t a free pass to stay stuck in this mode forever. By choosing to focus on your perceived failures or mistakes, you can’t see the positive things right in front of you, nor can you move on toward greener pastures. There’s still hope, and it’s important this week that you find where that hope is and shift your attention to that.
Your card for the week: 2 of Pentacles
You’re going to learn that life is a balancing act this week! The 2 of Pentacles represents achieving harmony with opposing forces. Have you been called in different directions recently? Are what you want and what you need conflicting? Has work taken time away from your personal life or vice versa? This card wants you to take a step back and figure out where your priorities are. By knowing where you want to spend your time and energy, you can come up with a solution that sets you up for long-term success in all areas of your life.
Your card for the week: 9 of Wands
You could find yourself approaching the finish line this week! The 9 of Wands recognizes the persistence and dedication you’ve put into a personal goal you’ve been working toward. Your initial goals and ideas were planted and have grown, and you are so close to finally reaching your destination. While the road may have been long and weary at times, this is no time to give up. Resilience is your greatest asset right now, so put on your battle armor and keep moving forward no matter what life may throw your way.

In fourteen hundred ninety-two
Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
He had three ships and left from Spain;
He sailed through sunshine, wind and rain.
He sailed by night; he sailed by day;
He used the stars to find his way.
A compass also helped him know
How to find the way to go.
Ninety sailors were on board;
Some men worked while others snored.
Then the workers went to sleep;
And others watched the ocean deep.
Day after day they looked for land;
They dreamed of trees and rocks and sand.
October 12 their dream came true,
You never saw a happier crew!
“Indians! Indians!” Columbus cried;
His heart was filled with joyful pride.
But “India” the land was not;
It was the Bahamas, and it was hot.
The Arawak natives were very nice;
They gave the sailors food and spice.
Columbus sailed on to find some gold
To bring back home, as he’d been told.
He made the trip again and again,
Trading gold to bring to Spain.
The first American? No, not quite.
But Columbus was brave, and he was bright.
Happy Columbus Day, America!
