Wiccan Priestess

Spell to Develop Psychic Powers

During this Pisces Moon, it is a good time for developing psychic skills. To do this, create an altar that includes some of the Piscean ritual objects: Blue and blue-green candles, A bowl of water, and figurines or pictures of otters, salmons, seals, whales, or great blue herons. Place some coral, opal, or labradorite stones on the altar with dried horsetail or sage. Apply some oil of lotus or frankincense, light the candles, and mediate on the water. Gaze deeply into the bowl and say:

Water shining
Water Deep
bring me answers that I seek

Then ask questions that you do not have the answer for. Watch for images to appear in the water.

Custom Made Magick for Thursday

WiccanCustom Made Magick for Thursday

Well, let’s see … abundance, prosperity, and good health has been our focus for this day. Now how about a little more information and ideas for working practical magick with one of our fascinating featured deities of the day?

Juno was the Queen of Heaven. As the matriarch of the gods, she guarded over women in every aspect of their lives. Juno was thought to have renewed her virginity every year. Similar to other goddess stories, Juno was a triple goddess-a virgin who belonged to no one; a mother and woman in the prime of her life, sexual and mature; and also a crone, powerful, wise, and sometimes vengeful (as she made her husband’s many mistresses’ lives either fairly unhappy or short).

There are references to an early all-female triad of goddesses known as the Capitoline Triad. This triad consisted of Juventas, Juno, and Minerva. To the Greeks, they would have been known as Hebe, Hera, and Hecate. Ultimately the triad became Juno, Minerva, and the male Jupiter. Jupiter, another of Thursday’s gods, was Juno’s consort.

As mentioned earlier, Juno, in her aspect as Juno Moneta, was the patron and protector of the Roman mint. The coins produced at her temples were blessed by Juno and imbued with her powers of abundance and prosperity. In another of her aspects as Juno Augusta, Juno was the goddess of an abundant harvest.

In addition, another of Juno’s magickal correspondences is the semiprecious stone malachite. Malachite is a beautiful green-banded stone that was also called the “peacock stone” in Italy. The peacock was a sacred animal of Juno’s, and the magickal energies of malachite encourage health and prosperity.

A Little Witchery for Your Thursdays

WiccanA Little Witchery for Your Thursdays

Today is the day for prosperity work of all kinds. It can also be used for healing work, whether that is a physical healing of an illness or an emotional healing. Also remember that you have to follow up your healing work and prosperity magick and physical action.

I can’t tell you the number of times I have met new witches who complain to me that their prosperity spell or “I need a better job” spell did not work as they expected. They’ll ramble on and on about how much time and money they spent working their magick….but, alas, they had no glorious manifestation of wealth or fabulous job that suddenly dropped out of the sky and landed in their laps.

Then, when I gently ask them, “Did you enchant your resume or application when you filled it out? Did you do a little confidence-boosting spellwork when you went to apply for the job or went to the interview?” typically they give me a blank, confused stare.

Nine times out of ten, their response is, “You mean I have to go out and actually look for the job too?” Um, yes, my dear, you certainly do. Magick follows the path of least resistance, which means it’s going to manifest along the simplest, quickest route. Get out there and hit the pavement. See what you can find. Times are tough and competition for good jobs is fierce, so you need whatever edge you can get. For folks like us, we’re going to get the edge by using our magick and our spellcraft.

Thursdays have such a rich source of magick for us to draw upon that, honestly, the sky is the limit. This is the day associated with the gods of the sky and heavens, after all. Get to know these deities and add their wisdom and magick into your days

Thursday is a day of royal blues and greens, associated with the planet Jupiter and metals like tin. When it comes to deities, look at leader type gods like Thor, Zeus, and Jupiter. Gemstone correspondences for Thursday include turquoise, amethyst and lapis lazuli, and plant associations can be found in honeysuckle, cinquefoil, and even oak trees.

This is a day for honor, fealty and family loyalty, as well as harvesting, success, and prosperity.

Take advantage of Thursday’s different aspects and do spellwork that brings abundance to you, declares your allegiance, and embraces prosperity.

On Thursday, April 13th, We Celebrate…..

GothicOn Thursday, April 13th, We Celebrate…..

Songkran (Thailand)
TOU MOU

Themes: Cleansing, luck, charity, karma, history

Symbols: Pen (or Quill), books, light

About Tou Mou: The Chinese/Thai goddess of record keeping takes specal notice of our actions (or inactions) today, keeping careful notes for the karmic bank account. In works of art, Tou Mou is depicted sitting behinds books and glowing with the beautiful light of the aurora. It is this brightness that shines on our lives today, revealing both the good and the bad. Suitable offerings for this goddess include rice, fruit, and all acts of goodness.

To Do Today: In Thailand, this water festival begins with tossing water down the street to chase away evil influences. I suggest using your driveway instead, or a glass of water on the kitchen floor that is judiciously mopped up later.

People in Thailand traditionally wash their parents’ hands with scented water today to bring them honor and long life. So remember your elders today, and do something nice for them—it’s good karma, and it definitely catches Tou Mou’s attention. Another activity extends good deeds to the natural world—that of freeing sonbirds, who then bear their liberator’s prayers directly to Tou Mou’s ear. You might want to simply scatter some birdseed instead for similar results.

Finally, it might be a good day to balance your checkbook to make sure your financial karma stays in good standing. Burn a green candle nearby for prosperity.

Today is Thursday, April 13

fantasyToday is Thursday, April 13

Thursday is the day of the planet Jupiter, dedicated to Thunor(Thor), God of thunder and agricultural work. His parallels in various European traditions are Zeus, Taranis, Perun, Perkunas and St. Olaf. The faith of the Northern Tradition holds Thursday sacred, just as Islam reveres Friday, Judaism the Sabbath(calculated from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday), and Christianity, Sunday. This is why almost all adages about Thursday are positive, such as “Thursday’s child has far to go,” “Sneeze on Thursday, something better,” or “Cut nails on Thursday for wealth.” Thursday rules controlled optimism, energetic growth, physical well-being and material success.

The Sky This Week for April 13 to 16

love and lightThe Sky This Week for April 13 to 16

Jupiter at peak visibility, Sirius at magnitude -1.5, and other cool things to look for in the sky this week.
By Nicole Kiefert

Thursday, April 13

For those who like to observe during the quiet predawn hours, Saturn offers a visual treat. The ringed planet rises shortly before 1 a.m. local daylight time and climbs about 30° high in the south by the time morning twilight begins. It shines at magnitude 0.3 against the backdrop of northwestern Sagittarius, where it appears nearly stationary relative to the background stars. Take a look at Saturn through binoculars and you’ll also see the open star clusters M21 and M23 as well as the spectacular Lagoon (M8) and Trifid (M20 ) nebulae less than 4° to its east. When viewed through a telescope, the planet shows a 17″-diameter disk surrounded by a stunning ring system that spans 39″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

Friday, April 14

Orion the Hunter stands out in the western sky as darkness falls this week. The conspicuous constellation appears slightly askew compared with its appearance in winter’s evening sky. Now, the three-star belt is aligned parallel to the horizon while blue-white Rigel hangs directly below the belt and ruddy Betelgeuse stands directly above.

Uranus is in conjunction with the Sun at 2 a.m. EDT. From our earthly perspective, this means the distant planet lies behind the Sun and so is out of sight. Uranus will return to view in the morning sky in late May.

Saturday, April 15

The Moon reaches apogee, the farthest point in its orbit around Earth, at 6:05 a.m. EDT. It then lies 251,950 miles (405,475 kilometers) from Earth’s center.

Sunday, April 16

The annual Lyrid meteor shower begins today. Although the shower won’t peak until the morning of April 22, you may see a few meteors in the predawn hours before then. To tell a Lyrid from a sporadic meteor, trace the streak of light back to its origin. Lyrids appear to come from the constellation Lyra the Harp, while sporadics appear at random and can come from any direction.

The waning gibbous Moon appears just above Saturn before dawn. The two approach each other as the morning progresses, and the Moon will pass 3° north of the planet at 2 p.m. EDT.

The tornado came from the gust.
But now back to the sky.

WOTC Prayer of the Day for April 11: Prayer for World Peace

WOTC Prayer of the Day

World Peace

Every day, we wake up and turn on the News to only hear of more violence, killings, drive-bys, trucks mowing into crowds of people and it goes on and on. Not to mention all the battle ships currently traveling to the Middle East. It is one sad story after another, what has our world come too? Is there no sanity left?

It is time for the witches to remember why we were given our talents and our powers, for the betterment of mankind and to assist mankind in any way we can. If our assistance is not needed not, it never will be. I would ask that you take a moment out of your busy day, light a candle and say this prayer or one of your own but whatever you do, please say a prayer for peace. We cannot stand by and idly watch the world destroy itself. We are needed now more than ever, let us stand together and change the current course of history.
