The Witches Magick for July 14th – Healing Box

Healing Box

This spell is to heal someone, such as yourself, who has been wounded by the stray arrows of cupid.

You will need a covered box large enough to fit the photograph of the person to be healed and a mixture of faery dust. In this case, faery dust consists of a pinch of dried rosemary, thyme, and sage.

After dark, put the picture of the person to be healed in the box. As you sprinkle the faery dust into the box on top of the photograph, say:

Blessed faeries and elves

Please share your magic with me.

Put the cover on the box and begin shaking it. Imagine the person in the box being healed. Merge and send positive, loving energy to the person in the photograph in the box. As you do so, call out:

One of my favorite activities is searching for magical stones. Magical stones do not need to be precious or valuable, they only need to catch the eye and remind us of the beauty of the place we found them. These stones can be placed on our altar or in a special place. Stones are magical because they help us feel grounded and more down-to-earth. To do this, you need only walk out into a natural setting on the Full Moon. Be sure it’s a place where you feel particularly peaceful and spiritually uplifted.

As you walk along your trail, allow your eyes to soften their focus as you begin to look from side to side. As you walk, ask the spirits of the land to help you find a special stone that you can keep. Listen to the voice of the place-it may feel silent but there are many tree, plant, and stone spirits that can communicate with you. Listen to the land attentively and then keep your eyes peeled. You may be asked to walk off the path a short ways. Or you may be led to a part of the land you have never seen before.

As you open up your heart to receive communication, you may encounter a small rock that sings out to you. This is the powerful rock that can help teach you the magic of the land you’re walking on. Give thanks and take the stone back to your home. Honor it and the land it came from by placing it in a special place in your house.

WOTC Extra – Casting the Circle

Casting A Circle

A circle is cast before you perform spell-work. The circle forms two purposes – it protects you from negative energy and it provides energy for the spell being cast.

Face the north quarter and point at it, either with you finger or your athame, while saying, “Hail and welcome.” Light the candle that represents that quarter, if applicable. Repeat this for each other quarter, moving in a clockwise direction to form a complete circle.

When you get back to the beginning again, ask the God or Goddess for their blessing and ask them to seal the circle and protect those working within it.

After you have finished the spell-casting, you will need to close off the circle properly. This is done by the same person who originally cast the circle. Thank the God and Goddess and face each quarter again – this time pointing towards the ground. This will safely disperse the energy.

Cleansing Yourself and Your Sacred Space

Before any ritual, you need to make sure that the space set aside for it is clean. Try to keep the space uncluttered and get rid of any dirt. Cleanliness is a sign that you respect the sacredness of the space.

The next thing to do is to prepare the space for the cleansing of any negative energy. In witchcraft, drawing on the power of the elements is a good way to increase the potency of your spell. Having items that represent the various elements is how you will incorporate the power of these elements.

First divide the space into quarters that correspond with the four cardinal points.

Air can be represented by a feather and the color yellow – these are normally set up in the east quarter.

Water can be represented by a shell or sea glass and the color blue – these are normally set up in the west quarter.

Fire can be represented by a candle and the color red – these are normally set up in the south quarter.

Earth can be represented by a stone or piece of natural rock and the color green – these are normally set up in the north quarter.

Although not an element as such, spirit is also considered important and is represented by a figure of a person and the color purple – these are normally placed in the center of the room.

Now that you have all the items in place, you are able to start the cleansing ritual.

Burning sage – either the dried herb or incense – is a really good way to purify the space of negative energy. You can also use a solution of water and salt to cleanse the space.

The following spell employs a combination of the two:

Hold the water in one hand and the salt in the other and say – “In the name of the Lord and Lady, I cast out all impurities.”

Mix the salt with the water and put it down.

Light the sage and pass it over the water and repeat,

“In the name of the Lord and Lady, I cast out all impurities.”

Now that the water is cleansed, sprinkle it around the room and onto the people present. Be sure to also sprinkle the salt water in the doorways and on the windowsills.

Pick up the burning sage and cleanse the air with it – paying particular attention to the corners of the room.

The space is now ready to be used.

In the United States, Bastille Day is still celebrated by descendants of French Canadians, especially in Kaplan, Louisiana, siana, a small town about 75 miles southwest of Baton Rouge. The Bastille Day celebration is of such epic proportions that it requires a special committee to monitor its activities. The high point of the festivities is the annual Bastille Day Wine Glass Race. The contestants each pay $15 to race a sloped walkway while balancing trays of wine-filled glasses on one hand. The first-place winner receives a bottle of Moet & Chandon and a trip to New York; second place wins a trip to Boston; third, dinner for two a local restaurant.

There’s some striking astrology at the Cancer New Moon (July 15th), that calls for a tidal alert.

Shock Waves

All the hot flash planets are on edge, and even dangerously so, with Pluto staring down Mars-Mercury in an exact opposition.

Tuesday

A god, goddess, or planet governs each day of the week. It is usually easy to spot the ruler of the day by its name. The word Tuesday, however, is not so easy, but if we look at the word in Spanish, Martes, we clearly see its connections to Mars.

Because Tuesday revolves around the energy of Mars, Tuesdays are good for business, mechanical things, buying and selling animals, hunting, beginning studies, gardening, sexual activities, and confrontation. This is a day for sex magick, energy, stamina, and health. As in the old saying, Tuesdays child is full of grace, is also good for success magick and defense against enemies.

Angels of Tuesday are Camael, Samael, Satael, Amabiel, Friagne, and Hyniel. When invoked, Camael takes the form of a leopard. In Druid mythology he is a god of war, which is why we see him associated with Mars. Camael is said to be a member of the “Magnificent Seven” in some circles. Camael is another “terminator” angel.

Samael walks both worlds as a magician and sorcerer. some see him as the angel of death, others as “the bright and poisonous one.” Many consider him more of a demon, and accuse him of being Satan. However, there is reference to the satans (plural) as enforcers of the law, a sort of angelic police, if you will. Supposedly, when Samael is around, dogs howl in the night. On one hand, he is the ruler of the fifth heaven and in charge of two million angels; on the other, he is the one who changed into a serpent and convinced Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit of knowledge.

Satael is an angel of air invoked in magic rites and is the presiding spirit of the planet Mars. Amabiel is another spirit of the planet Mars; however he spends his energy on issues of human sexuality. Friagne, also an angel of this day, is invoked from the east. He is a member of the fifth heaven. Hyniel also belongs to this day and is subject to the east wind.

On Tuesdays the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Mars, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest ones to do ritual in. Check your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.
