Today’s Tarot Card for June 8 is Triumph

Triumph

This Tarot Deck: Lovers Path

General Meaning:

What has traditionally been known as the World card points to the presiding intelligence, called “Sophia,” or Wisdom, which upholds life on this and all worlds. A more precise title for this card might be “the Soul of the World,” also applicable as a symbol of personal empowerment and freedom. In most Tarot decks it is a female figure that has become our standard World image. She originates in Hebrew, Gnostic and Alchemical lore, and stands between heaven and earth as the Cosmic Mother of Souls, the Wife of God and our protector from the karmic forces we have set loose upon the Earth in our immaturity and ignorance.

Where the Empress energy secures and fertilizes our terrestrial lives, the goddess of The World invites us into cosmic citizenship — once we come to realize our soul’s potential for it. Just as the Chariot stands for success in achieving a separate Self, and Temperance represents achievement of mental and moral health, the World card announces the awakening of the soul’s Immortal Being, accomplished without the necessity of dying.

This card, like the Sun, is reputed to have no negative meaning no matter where or how it appears. If the Hermetic axiom is “Know Thyself”, this image represents what becomes known when the true nature of Self is followed to creative freedom and its ultimate realization

The past is to be respected for its rich store of experience – mistakes and all – believes the Cherokee. In it are all the trials and wisdom of our elders, the timeless suffering and seasoning that came to us with a brave front. But we, with less experience and far less wisdom, question why they did certain things. We have only to look at our own recent history to know that many circumstances come in to dictate some of what happened. We do not relate it to our offspring word for word – why we did something, wise or unwise. It is better they take what we have learned and build on it. The young have a tendency to see themselves far more shrewd and able than their elders. But one day, they too will see and understand the patterns that have been laid down. They will forgive and hope to be forgiven for not being miracle workers. The fact that we are here with a load of experience and wisdom behind us speaks positively of the past.

March 26 – Daily Feast

To be convinced that we are not alone in whatever place or situation we find ourselves is to have wisdom – exceptional wisdom. But when that wisdom is there and nothing can shake it, a need to share is strong. Everybody doesn’t have the gift because everyone doesn’t want it. Some can’t even believe that anyone else has it. So, we should never try to convince them. If we are convinced, then, that is sufficient evidence, and other things will add to it as we go along. The Great Spirit speaks to us in sweet languages, so unique we cannot miss the import of what is said. To receive such a gift can change a situation from deep fear to one of total contentment and love.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for March 21

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

At night sometimes the world seems so topsy-turvy and you’re so weary of doing things the same old way. Then nothing seems to please….You try desperately for something new and different, something that doesn’t seem so much like you. Why? Tonight you are different.

One cannot expect the world to be top side up all the time. Such perfection does not come so easily to human nature. And always there is a search for something new and different. A change of pace….that thought that I don’t want to be me today, to think my thoughts and do my daily chores. I want to make a complete change now, to know a whole new way of life. And it is good to leave behind the many daily situations that sometimes stand too closely to be seen clearly, but to be wise enough to know which things should be left behind.

There have been clean sweeps that have left behind the dearest things….and have taken along the same dreary, dark unhappy things of the mind that should have been left behind.

A line from the prayer of serenity is “The wisdom to know the difference….” And wisdom says Samuel Taylor Coleridge, is common sense in an uncommon degree. If one has the wisdom to wait a bit, wait until morning – or several mornings – that uncommon degree of common sense will give us the wisdom to know the difference.

Daily OM for March 6th – The Truths Within

The Truths Within
Value Your Own Wisdom

Your very own inner wisdom should be valued more than any other and will always guide you in the direction you need to travel.

Throughout our lives, we will encounter individuals who presume to know what is best for us. The insights they offer cannot compare, however, with the powers of awareness and discernment that already exist within us. From birth we are blessed with wisdom that cannot be learned or unlearned. It exists whether or not we acknowledge it because it is a gift given to us by a loving universe before we chose to experience existence on the earthly plane. Yet for all its permanence, it is vital that we value and honor this incredible element of the self. It is when we do not use our inborn wisdom that we begin to doubt our personal truths and are driven to outside sources of information because we are afraid. What we know to be true in our hearts is invariably true, and we discover how intensely beautiful and useful self-trust can be when we recognize the power of our wisdom.

Inner wisdom is not subject to the influences of the outside world, which means that it will never demand that we surrender our free will or counsel us to act in opposition to our values. We benefit from this inspiration when we open ourselves to it, letting go of the false notion that we are less qualified than others to determine our fate. The wisdom inside of us is the source of our discernment and our ability to identify blessings in disguise. When we are unsure of who to trust, how to respond, or what we require, the answers lie in our inner wisdom. It knows where we are going and understands where we are coming from, taking this into account though it is not a product of experience but rather a piece of our connection to the universal mind.

In the whole of your existence, no force you will ever encounter will contribute as much to your ability to do what you need to do and be who you want to be as your natural wisdom. Through it, you reveal your growing consciousness to the greater source and discover the true extent of your strength. If you heed this wisdom with conviction and confidence, the patterns, people, and fears that held you back will be dismantled, paving the way for you to fulfill your truest potential.

Spell – A- Day – Wisdom of our Ancestors

Spell – A- Day – Wisdom of our Ancestors

You can find guidance to deal with difficult situations by
accessing the wisdom of our ancestors. To do so, write out your perception of the situation on a piece of paper.
Light white, black, and red candles, and cut an apple crosswise to reveal the five-pointed star created by the seeds.
State these or similar words:

I send my voice across the veil
To my ancestors who know me well.
Guidance needed,
Wisdom bequest;
Answers given to aid my quest.
Quiet your mind, and receive guidance. It may arrive immediately or over several days. Thank your ancestors,
and offer the apple to them.

My Meeting with the Goddess

My Meeting with the Goddess

Author: Raphael Eventide

I’m sitting here at this computer and I suddenly feel inspired by the Goddess to compose something: To tell you the way I first met her. I don’t know why, but here goes…

I was scared. Afraid. I’d just found out that there was going to be some major changes in my life. Normally, I didn’t handle change well. To be honest, it terrified me. I stood in front of the bathroom mirror. Trying to come to grips with what I knew was inevitable. I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry, “I don’t want to change!” But it wouldn’t have done any good. As I stood there, feeling the inner war consume my mind, suddenly, I heard a gently voice say, ‘Meditate.’ I had just recently become a dedicant a few days ago, and I was learning about the Goddess and wondering about her. The voice in my head sounded feminine, so I wondered… Could the Goddess be speaking to me? Well, even if it wasn’t the Goddess, it was some good sound advice, which was what I needed. So I went and sat down and closed my eyes and began to meditate.

I was in a forest. It was close to the evening hours, with the lazy sunlight gently touching the leaves and branches above my head. I was on a path through the woods and followed it. Then I saw her. She was the most beautiful mother I’d ever seen. She stood there before me cloaked in periwinkle robes, with long red hair, and skin as white as milk. Her eyes where a soft purple, and as soon as she saw me, she cried out with joy, “Oh my son! Welcome home!”

She ran to me, and I realized I was crying. As she embraced me, I realized how small I really was, and leapt into her arms and cried as if I had lost her. But now I was home, safe, in her arms. The love I felt all around me was overwhelming. But yet soft and gentle. I started blurting out how scared I was and how I wanted it all to go away! She held me in her arms and gently soothed me and waited until I was finished.

“My dear son, you are so spiritual and intelligent, but when it comes to change you rarely move. It’s not a bad thing, but you must remember, how can a flower grow if it does not move? How can you hope to go to college if you are afraid to even apply? You cannot wait for everything to come to you. Sometimes you must go to it.” She said it gently, and brushed my tears off my cheeks.

I sat on her lap now, looking up at her in awe. It was very wise. I always knew she was, but looking up into her face, I was sure she must be wiser then anyone knew. “Mother you are so wise!” I exclaimed. “You must know everything! And I know so little…”

She smiled warmly, and laughed. “My son, you are wise too. To know that you know little is the first step to true wisdom.” I smiled a little, and felt much better. Then my mother told me about how I came to be, and even now, it still causes my heart to flutter. As she spoke it, I saw it all happen before my eyes.

“When you were just a thought, you were like a seed that was carried on the wind. On it, you soared high in the sky with your father, God. He showed you the whole world. And carried you until you were ready and then into your mother’s womb. There, you grew. And your father and I worked hard. He was the great planner, deciding what you would look like, what you might do, what gifts we would give you.

“While he made the plans, I crafted you from the clay of the earth. I worked and worked and worked! I wanted to make you special and unique. Finally we were done. And you were born to your mother on the earth. You see my son, you are the physical manifestation of the love the God and I share. You are the product of our love sent out to the entire world. You are my precious jewel. My diamond. You catch the light of our Universal Divine Love and radiate it and shine it out to the whole world to see.

“We love you so much! And every day you take the step to hear us, and become the best you can be, you shine! You have many things to learn my son, but you can do all things. For you are from my flesh and your father’s breath. You are the place between, the magickal place where things are born that can change the world.”

She gently touched my heart and as she spoke these last words, I felt I was shining.

“Momma, when will I meet God?” I asked solemnly.

She smiled and spoke quietly, “Very soon my son, but for now, you are with me.” I don’t know how much longer we sat there, but eventually, she stood up, set me down and told me what I should do. I came back, and since then have begun to try and change for the best. I know it will be hard, but knowing that my mother and father are behind me and helping me always… where can I go wrong?

I am still on the path of becoming a witch/wiccan, as I started my Dedicant training in December of 2009. I’m so excited and have learned so much and still have so much to learn in my year and a day. I have also met my father God and he is just as beautiful and loving as the Goddess. I’m still not sure why she insisted I write this, but I have a feeling you know.

Even today my mother, the Goddess’ words come to me, and I try every day to make her and my father God proud. I hope my little story brought a smile to your face and maybe an answer to your searching heart. I pray that the God and Goddess speak to you through these words. My they lead and guide you to your own everlasting shine.

Until we meet again my friend, the circle is broken but unbroken. May the Truth, Love and Wisdom from the God and Goddess stay in our hearts always.

Blessed be.

Few children still have the chance to be innocent. They have been made to look like miniature adults, taught to act adult, and abused because of it. We sympathize with abused children and say that is the way the world is, what can we do? It is an easy loophole that lets us go on our way – wishing things were different but doing nothing to make it so. This is why we have so many throwaway children. We have cut loose from our responsibility to pray. Where did we go wrong? We made children competitive and gave them nothing for inner strength. We curled their hair and twisted their minds. They are going to learn it somewhere – so why not from us? Sadly, we haven’t given them what they need because we don’t have it ourselves.

If you are standing deep in trouble don’t talk disparagingly of things spiritual. Spirit is your hope. It is your wisdom and your healing, key to your money and your relationships. If you believe these things are not true – then you have the reason for your emptiness. “Prove me now”, the wisdom goes. Spiritual things are provable. There is wisdom that can be tapped and put to good use when it has made the right connections. Right connections are not just people but Spirit. Breakdowns occur without Him, breakthroughs happen with Him.

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – September 9

Elder’s Meditation of the Day – September 9

“…[W]isdom comes only when you stop looking for it and start truly living the life the Creator intended for you.”

–Lelia Fisher, HOH

There are many things that block us from wisdom such as selfishness, secrets, hate, anger, jealousy and judgments. Another thing that can block us from wisdom is trying too hard or wishing something would happen. Wishing implies doubt and trying implies control. We need to let go of these things. We need to abandon ourselves to the Creator. As soon as we surrender everything, the wisdom starts to flow. The Elders know how to help us with this. Just ask them.

My Great Spirit, today I surrender my life and my will to Your care.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Have you considered the effect your presence may have on people around you? Do they need you? The answer is yes. We are somewhat selfish with our presence at times. We want to withdraw and think our own thoughts and read quietly rather than entertaining someone or just listening to them. But we never really know how much they need us, not to perform good deeds for their good, but only to be company to share a happening of the day.

Perhaps within their minds we can quiet some restlessness, assure them that they are needed or give them a feeling of tranquility. To many, life is no simple matter, and to hear them out may be the remedy.

It has been said by a very wise man that if you never make a mistake you’re not doing anything.

It is a relief to know that every day, without fail, we come in contact with people who put such confidence in us that we strive ever harder to never fail. Such people build human beings – and there is no job more worthy, or more creative.

Building character and confidence in fellow human beings is a delicate task….for no two people respond in the same way. Challenges may be the way to boost up some individuals, while others may need encouragement and praise to guide them on the way. But, oh, how human we all are, having the need for accomplishment….for attention….for approval.

And how great the responsibility for leaders who must have the wisdom to inspire….the integrity to trust….the heart to understand. The race is hard for leader and follower; for each must understand the other – and there must be compassion for the slow, courage for the weak, and appreciation for the loyal. To follow one must be secure; to lead one must be very wise.

It should be the practice of all of us that when we hear something complimentary about someone to tell them. It is so true that man does not live by bread alone, and to be recognized in having something that rated approval is a very great reward.

Nothing so builds character in children than to let them know someone believes they have a fine potential. That feeling that “someone believes in me” can be the very thing that will anchor their faith deep in hope for humanity.

To be able to see the good acts of others renders service to ourselves. Swiss theologian John Casper Lavater once said, “He is incapable of a truly good actions who finds not a pleasure in contemplating the good actions of others.”

Appreciation for the achievement of others is akin to sunshine – we simply can’t help it shine on other people without feeling the glow ourselves.”
