Today’s Quiz: Are You Energy-Sensitive?

Are You Energy-Sensitive? Quiz

If you have ever found yourself getting irritated or depressed for no  apparent reason after spending time with certain people, the answer may be  simple: you may be a sensitive, absorbing or reacting to energy from these  individuals that isn’t healthy for you.

Answer these questions to see if this could be true for you, and then find  out what to do about it so you don’t continue to feel depleted or irritable when  you’re around these people.

1. Do you frequently feel angry, nervous, tense, or irritable around certain  people?

2. Do you often feel sad, low-energy, drained, or lethargic when you are  around some individuals?

3. Do you ever find yourself wanting to lie or cover-up around specific  people?

4. Do you frequently find yourself folding your arms over your midsection  when you are with certain people in your life?

5. Do you often feel ill-at-ease or uncomfortable with some individuals?

6. Does the mere sight of some people cause you to feel instantly defensive  or angry?

7. Do you find yourself inwardly groaning when you hear a specific person’s  voice on the phone?

The more questions you answered “yes” to, the more sensitive you probably  are.

Most of us are unconsciously influenced by others’ energies. These energies  are what they are, neither good nor bad–but some may be beneficial, and some  detrimental to us. The extent to which you are affected is a sign of your  sensitivity. Becoming aware of the energy-effects of interactions is a  wonderful first step in becoming more conscious, and in undoing the negative  effects of others’ energies on us.

If you think you are being adversely affected when you are in the company of  certain people’s energy fields, here are some things you can do:

If you are around someone whose energy makes you feel drained:

1.  Move away from the person.

2. Politely cut the interaction short.

3.  Redirect the person’s attention.

If you find yourself feeling irritable around someone:

1. First,  realize that you do not need to take this personally. Simply notice, “This is  someone who makes me feel prickly.”

2. Ground yourself. This can be as  simple as just placing your hands on the ground, or as complex as doing a brief relaxation and grounding exercise.

Witchy Comments & Graphics
Crystal of the Day – Hematite Stone

Main Chakra: Base

Planet: Mars & Saturn

Vibrates to the number: 9

Element: Fire

Astrological Sign: Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn

Hematite stone is the main mineral in Iron and is mined in locations all around the world. The most notable places being Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, England, Germany, India, Mexico, Spain and Russia. In the United States, the states where hematite stone mining is the most common includes Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Tennessee, Wyoming and Utah.

Hematite stone is always opaque and is a grey metallic color or almost black. Occasionally you will find small amounts of red within the stone. This is where the iron has oxidized and is why in times past, hematite was called “bloodstone” because many of the stones would “bleed” a red color when they were cut.

The so called “bleeding” is actually nothing more than the iron oxidizing, which is nothing more than rust. Yet this red “blood” is where it got it’s name. It comes from the Greek word haima meaning blood.

Our world has become so complex, it is hard to find time to take a deep breath, much less actually relax and let go of a little stress. The hematite stone can help you maximize those few moments you may find to let go of stress. It leaves you in a calm state but at the same time, it leaves you in tuned to the universal energies, allowing you psychic abilities to increase.

If you have reached the age where your memory is not as good as it use to be, wearing hematite can help to increase your memory, making it easier to remember to get to appointments on time, to pay bills on time or even just to call your relatives on a semi-regular basis.

Hematite stone is a balancing healing stone, that bring all sides of the subject into balance. Self control and a go getter attitude can live side by side. Body, mind and Spirit can all work in harmony.

Not sure which path to take in your life to ensure you have all that you need? This also includes having peace and true inner happiness in your life. Hematite can cause your intuition to peak, helping you make the right choices to ensure all your hopes, dreams and desires can take you on the path to reach your goals.

Hematite is a great stone for students, mathematicians and engineers or anyone that use a lot of analytical skills in their jobs. It helps with memory, makes memorization easier, improves mathematical skills and aids in logically moving from a single concept through the many possible conclusions that could arise.

A hematite is a great stone for a beginner just learning to meditate. Often beginners will feel overwhelmed by the information and feelings they receive during their early attempts at meditation. Hematite helps you to stay grounded so you are not so overwhelmed, but at the same time, still allows you to maintain a meditative state.

If you are ill, especially where fever is concerned or the if the body has a build up of toxins, have someone comb your aura while holding a hematite stone. If you don’t have someone to do this for you, meditate while holding one of the stones and visualize the stone drawing the fever/toxins/illness from your body and into the stone. Afterwards, make sure you wash the stone under running water to remove the build up of negative energy from it.

If you are in need of a chiropractic treatments but can’t get one done at this point in time, lay on your stomach and have someone place several hematite stones on your back in a line down your spine. Hematite stone helps ease back pain and the magnetic qualities can help align your spine.

Hematite stone works closely with the base chakra helping to keep you grounded. This makes it the perfect stone for someone who tends to have their head in the clouds. It helps them to keep their mind on what has to be done, without cutting off their love of life and flow of creativity.

Hematite stone is great for anyone that does any sort of public speaking, including teachers, business executives and such. It gives you courage and self control while also reducing stress, which can help you to shine when communicating with others.

I hate to post and run but…….

I hate to post and run but…….I have got to take a friend to the dentist. After or before, probably before, I am going to vote. I don’t know what is on your ballot today. But one thing I promised you and I am worse than an elephant about forgetting. My promise to you was when Election time rolled around, I was going to remind you of what a lovely mess our government was back in October. Remember? I know you know what I am implying. Vote with your head. Stop to think about what a mess things were. Remember people not knowing where their next meal was coming from or how to keep a roof over their kids head. Whatever you do get out and vote and please vote with your head.

Now I have one thing to ask you. I am currently brain dead (I know it’s a first for me, lol!). But anyway, what kind of items would like to see raffled off? I know the holidays are getting ready to hit us. I thought it would be nice to put up something that you might to want to give as a gift. If you tell me that is what you would like to do, I will cut the December raffle short. That way whatever the item is will get to you in time for Yule or Christmas.

Anyway, I have got to run for now. Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Luv & Hugs,
Lady A

Quiz of the Day – What’s Your Place In Nature?

Your Place in Nature? – Quiz

Humanity evolved from the heart of Nature. Day by day, season by season,  generation after generation, human lives were linked inseparably to the cycles  of the living world. Like the heartbeat of a great Mother, the rhythms and  workings of the natural world imprinted themselves into every cell of our  bodies. We knew our place within the whole and developed spiritual beliefs that  honored our independence within the vast network of sibling species.

For eons, the idea that humanity could be separate from the rest of life was  essentially incomprehensible. Only in the past few hundred years have our minds  fully embraced these concepts that tear us from the embrace of our broader  family. The new myth is hard. By keeping us from recognizing the Earth as our  natural means of support, it engenders in us a feeling of abandonment.

How do you perceive the living world around you? How do you view nature? Take  this quiz and find out:

As you consider each question, jot down your responses. Be brief. The point  is not to have everything all polished and exact – it is to get you thinking.

1.  How would you define Nature? What is your personal relationship with it?

2.  What is humanity’s relationship to Nature?

3.  What do you like most about the natural world? Which plants and animals  are most important?

4.  What do you not trust about the natural world? What aspects of it scare  you? Which animals or plants would you consider “bad?”

After taking this quiz step back. Create some distance between yourself and  the mainstream consciousness. Work with your beliefs. As you begin to see the  world more clearly, you’ll have an opportunity to observe your own beliefs with  greater objectivity. Feel your connections. The very best way to demonstrate the  illusion of separation is to gain some first-hand experience of just how  connected you really are. Then, when you hear messages that try to convince you  that you’re isolated, they won’t have any power. You’ll already know the truth  because you’ve felt it in your body.

Lighten Up – Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary

Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary – Prefers to remain anonymous

Day 752— My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I’m forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

Day 761—-Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving in and out of their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, note must try at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair……must try doing this on their bed.

Day768—I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was given the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called (shampoo). What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of the thumb still stuck between my teeth.

Day 771—There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they called ” Beer”. More importantly I over heard that my confinement was due to my Power of Allergies. Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

Day 774—I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half wit. The bird on-the-other-hand has got to be an informant he speaks with them on a regular basis. I am certain he is reporting on my every move. Due to his placement in a metal room his safety is assured. But, I can watch and I can wait. It is only a matter of time.

What is Santeria?

by Efun Moyiwa

This article can also be found on Efun Moyiwa’s World Wide Web page, OrishaNet (http://www.seanet.com/~efunmoyiwa/welcome.html).

Santería, or La Regla Lucumí, originates in West Africa in what is now Nigeria and Benin. It is the traditional religion of the Yoruba peoples there. The slave trade brought many of these people to the shores of Cuba, Brazil, Haiti, Trinidad and Puerto Rico, among other places. But along with the bodies being brought over for sale into a life of misery, something else was being brought along. Their souls. And their religion.

First of all, Santería is not a “primitive” religion. On the contrary, the Yorubas were and are a very civilized people with a rich culture and deep sense of ethics. We believe in one god known as Olorun or Olodumare. Olorun is the source of ashé, the spiritual energy that makes up the universe, all life and all things material.

Olorun interacts with the world and humankind through emissaries. These emissaries are called orishas. The orishas rule over every force of nature and every aspect of human life. They are approachable and can be counted on to come to the aid of their followers, guiding us to a better life materially as well as spiritually.

Communication between orishas and humankind is accomplished through ritual, prayer, divination and ebó or offerings (which includes sacrifice). Song, rhythms and trance possession are also means with which we interact with the orishas and with which we are able to affect our day-to-day lives so that we may lead deeper and fuller lives during our stay in this world.

In the New World, the orishas and much of the religion was hidden behind a facade of Catholicism, with the orishas themselves represented by various saints. The slave owners would then say, “Look at how pious this slave is. She spends all of her time worshipping Saint Barbara.” Unbeknownst to them, she would actually be praying to Shangó, the lord of lightning, fire and the dance, perhaps even praying for deliverance from that very slave owner. This is how the religion came to be known as Santería. The memory of this period of our history is also why many in our religion regard the term Santería as a derogatory.

The traditions of Santería are fiercely preserved, and full knowledge of the rites, songs and language is prerequisites to any deep involvement in the religion. Initiates must follow a strict regimen and are answerable to Olorun and the orishas for their actions. As a person passes through each initiation in the tradition, this knowledge deepens and their abilities and responsibilities grow accordingly. In fact, during the entire first year of their initiation into the priesthood, the initiate or iyawó or “bride” of the orisha must dress in white. The iyawo must not look into a mirror, touch anyone or allow themselves to be touched, and they may not wear makeup or go out at night for this year.

La Santería is famous for its “magic.” This magic is based on a knowledge of the mysteries or orishas and how to interact with them to better our lives and the lives of those who come to us for the aid of the orishas. We live under the premise that this world is a magical one. This knowledge seems “supernatural” only to those who don’t understand it, but it really is quite natural.

Although the people were yanked away from their homes in Africa and enslaved in the New World, the orishas, the religion and its power could never be chained down, and the religion survives now – not as an anachronism, but ever-growing, even now in such places as France and the Netherlands.

Maferefún gbogbo orisha!

Let’s start out with a very serious subject………

I have been sitting here watching a channel that is going to show “JFK” tonight.  I was a baby when this happened. I remembered the horses pulling the casket and that’s it. Perhaps I don’t have all my facts but I can’t make up my mind who killed President Kennedy. I do know JFK was a great man and can you imagine what the country might be like now. I can’t even dream that because I don’t know the era in which all this occurred. I see news clips of the Age of Aquarius, Woodstock and some other unfortunate things I do not want to mention. So where am I going with this? I was just curious if anyone had any idea of what might have happened to Kennedy, was it the CIA, Mafia, Cuban mercenaries, or was it just Oswald by himself who acted alone?

Then the plot thickens as Oswald is brought out of the Police Department and Jack Ruby lays in wait for him. Ruby shots him and hours later Oswald dies. Do you think Ruby was a patsy used to kill Oswald to keep him quiet?

Some thought-provoking questions, got an opinion, let’s hear it!
