Chant:
Incense, air of high refine, purify this space of mine.
purged and purified be this place that I have chosen as magickal space.
Herbs of Mother Earth give blessings here to me, this rite, this sacred sphere.
Protect and cleanse this sacred place Hallow it now as my magickal space.
Walk around the space you’re cleansing with the lit incense chanting this,
hands up to the moon/sun/sky moving clockwise in a circle.
Do this at least 3 times or until you feel all energy is positive.

Great Spirit, Mother Earth, 

Powers of the four directions, 

my ancestors, 

And all those who love me, 

hear me now. 

This is a prayer of thanksgiving for the miracle of life. 

When I awake in the morning, Great Spirit, And I take a breath of morning air, I look toward the sky, searching the morning light For your face, 

And when I find it, a radiance comes to me, So beautiful and so blissful That I cannot put words to the gratefulness That is in my heart. 

There is much pain and confusion in this world, And oftentimes I lose my way, And I know not what to do. 

Then I sit in silence, and I listen To the high north wind in the pine trees, 

And you sing to me. 

I open my eyes and I look at the flowers And the miracle of beauty that they are. 

Again I see your face, And I wonder at my ignorance. 

So days go by, and I follow my path of heart, 

And I pray to you, Great Spirit, Grateful and strong from your grace. 

The four-legged and the winged ones Bring joy to my life, And I thank you for their presence all around me. Their purity of being reminds me of you, And I know that they are mirrors, Shiny and brilliant with your reflection. 

I know that much gives away so that I may live. The sacred give-away I receive and return, 

Ever grateful for your flowing power within me. 

Without you, I could not see the beauty That you have given us. 

I feel the sun on my face, and I know your warmth, 

And I know that somehow everything is perfect.

To understand the implications of sacred sounds a little better, consider the sounds that assail you every day. How does sound affect you? A honking horn will make you jump, for example, while the sounds of tinkling bells may inspire a smile. Through the use of sacred sounds, you massage your spirit with joyful noises that are uplifting and positive.

Dr. Alfred Tomatis developed a form of therapy that has been used in the United States and Europe to treat physical and psychological problems ranging from depression to autism. His techniques help patients improve their listening abilities and recapture the restful, sonic environment of the womb.

Chanting shifts consciousness because the vibration of sound has a measurable effect on the nervous system. Sound healers, including Colorado’s Jonathan Goldman, use sound to activate and balance the body’s energy centers, known as the chakras. Each chakra resonates with its own unique tone. Goldman says that the vowel sounds can be used as mantras to open up and “tune” the chakras, thereby enabling them to transmit harmonious, healing energy to the body.

“We can change our vibrational rate through our own self-generating sounds,” sound healer Jonathan Goldman believes. As individuals, we can use our voices to affect our own frequencies and energy levels. As a group, we can “adjust the planet to a new level of consciousness.”

Goldman recommends starting with the deepest “UH” sound you can make while focusing your attention on the root chakra, the energy center at the base of the spine. Then, at a slightly higher pitch, vocalize “OOO” and feel it vibrating in the sacral chakra. Next, direct the sound “OH” to the solar plexus. Continue moving up the body and the register, uttering “AH” in connection with the heart chakra. Let “EYE” resonate in the throat chakra, then “AYE” at the brow chakra or third eye, and finally “EEE” at the crown chakra.

The concept isn’t so strange, really. You’ve probably had the experience of feeling joyful, invigorated, and rejuvenated when singing your favorite music. Sound waves can be focused to produce a range of remarkable effects, from a singer shattering glass with a clear, high note to a doctor using ultrasound to break up kidney stones.

Even the universe sings. Many people describe having heard the voice of the earth as a low, resonating hum. According to the ancient Greek philosopher Pythagoras, the planets revolving in their orbits around the sun produce sounds that he called “the music of the spheres.” Perhaps by attuning themselves to these universal vibrations, human beings can create harmony on this planet.

WOTC Extra – Banishing Oil & Short Banishing Chant

BANISHING OIL

1/2 oz olive oil
7 drops pepper oil (add cayenne pepper to olive oil if you wish)
10 drops peppermint oil – or peppermint essence from icing part of a grocers plus olive oil.
12 drops of rue or rosemary oil. You can add rue or rosemary to olive oil and put in a warm
place for 3 days and strain or buy the essential oil.
Some crushed black peppercorns
15 drops of pine oil or some pine needles stepped in olive oil for 3 days in warm place and strained or pine essential oil.
One obsidian or black onyx stone or a small black pebble.
 

Blend together in an eggcup and put In a clean brown or dark medicine bottle. Some of these oils are volatile. Do not anoint yourself with Banishing oil. You could burn yourself. Wash your hands after using. Charge the stone or stones used after adding it and focus on the person and your intent pouring in energy and emotion. As you dress the candles you make them your magical tools. Charge again as you massage away from you massaging in banishing oil from
middle to the ends of the candle.

Items you will need

  • Best when cast on the third night of the waxing moon.
  • You will need three sticks of wood of equal length, a hand?s length each being ample enough.
  • You must be out of doors when the spell is cast

On the night you wish to cast this spell, go out to a quiet and secluded place. One need be seated, and if at all possible, it be best if one be seated on the earth. Take some time and meditate on one?s desire, be it general or specific. Next, take the three sticks of wood, and lay them flat on the ground to form a triangle. In the center of the triangle, place your index finger of each hand, tips side-by-side and held firmly against the earth, as if with both fingers you are pointing in unison at that one spot. Repeat the following incantation: Stars of heaven Holders of the ancient knowledge Watchers of our ascents and declines Silent yet strong Grant me this I ask Aid me in mine quest, yea, slake my thirst And fill mine mind With that I wish to know So, this I ask, as it may be So let this thing be so
