Herbal Talisman for Protection

 

Cut a circle out of a piece of blue cloth. Fill the center of the cloth with 9 protective herbs. As you add the herbs recite:

“For protection I fill this circle of blue, For protection I use the herbs that I do.”

Tie the bundle with white or silver thread. Carry this charm with you when you feel the need. You may make the tie long enough to put around your neck, or keep it in your pocket.

I added my own touches to that spell and used a piece of cloth that had a design on it with only a small amount of blue, but made me feel safe. That is the most important part, use a color or design that makes you feel secure. I carry it with me in my purse, which goes everywhere I do. Since I have carried it (many months now) no harm has come to me. Be sure and charge it with protective energy!

The following spell is a prayer to the sun, for quick travel. I believe that a spell is a spell, it’s origin doesn’t matter. If you believe the spell will work, then it will. So, seeing as how this spell is from Aztec origin, I think that as a Wiccan it will still work for me and others as long as you believe.

Say:

“Sun, come help me. I’ll be the first, I’ll go first.

Then you, then you can go.

I’ll be the first to reach the end of all the desert lands, o

f all the canyon lands, passing over the earth’s smooth face.

Smooth or not smooth, She’ll never hurt me.

Right through the sky I’ll go. That’s where I’ll be.”

A Mirror Spell of Protection for the Home

Compose an altar: place a censer in the center before an image of the Goddess. Have a 12 inch (or so) round mirror there as well. Ring the altar with 9 white candles. Burn a protective incense (such as sandalwood, frankincense, copal or rosemary) in the censer. Beginning with the candle most directly before the Goddess image, say these words:

“Lunar light protect me!”

Repeat as you light each candle until all are glowing. Now, holding the mirror, invite the Goddess in Her lunar aspect with these words:

“Great Goddess of Lunar Light and Mistress of the Seas;
Great Goddess of the mystic night and of the mysteries;
Within this place of candles bright and with your mirror nigh;
Protect me with your awesome might while ill vibrations fly!”

Standing before the altar, hold the mirror facing the candles so that it reflects their flames. Keeping the mirror toward the candles, move slowly, clockwise, around the altar, watching the reflected firelight bouncing off your surroundings.

Gradually increase your speed, mentally invoking the Goddess to protect you. Move faster and faster; watch the light shattering the air, cleansing it, burning away all negativity and all lines along which the ill energies have traveled into your home.

Charge you home with the protective light of the Goddess. Race around the candles until you’ve felt the atmosphere change, until you feel that your home has been cleansed and guarded by the Great Goddess.

When finished, stand once again before the image. Thank the Goddess in any words you wish. Pinch out the candles one by one, bind them together with white cord and store them in a safe place until (and if) you need to use them again for this same purpose. Say:

“In no way will this spell cause me
to suffer any adverse effects!”

  • rosemary
  • lavender
  • black pepper
  • cinnamon
  • ginger root
  • 6 white candles
  • one black candle.

  • Directions
    This spell should be cast during a new moon phase
    First cast a magical circle (hail to the guardians)
    Next face the north and sit and meditate
    Get up and light your candles clockwise all except for the black.
    Then when you have lighted your white candles, use a white candle to light the black candle.
    Then light the mixture of herbs and spices.
    Say:

    “Whatever evil comes to me here
    I cast you back, I have no fear
    With the speed of wind and the dark of night
    May all of your harboring take flight
    With the swiftness of the sea
    And all the power found in me
    As I will so mote it be.”

    Then in a loud voice say ”I cast you out”
    and blow out the black candle as hard as you can.
    let the mixture burn, then draw an eye on the candle and wrap it in a white cloth and bury it in your back yard.

It is best to find a work area that you can leave untouched for 3 days.

If you must put away your tools, try to leave the spell candle out in the open.

Prepare your work area by setting up any tools you may be using in addition to your spells candle.

(Black) Love or protection incense is recommended.

While setting up your area, concentrate on the purpose of the work.

Bathe or cleanse your self. Do not let negative thought enter your mind.

Go your work area. Cast the Circle, light incense.

Envision a large, white ball of light surrounding you, your work area, and your home.

Hold the candle between the palms of your hand and direct all positive energy into it.

Place the candle and prior to lighting say,

“This candle represents protection over me in all things.”

Light the candle and say,

“As the light of this flame grows, I feel the light and positive energy around me.

As this candle burns, everything around me is blessed with light and love.

I am blessed with light and love. Negative energy is banished.”

Sit back and watch the candle burn.

Keep visualizing the white ball of light and protection around you..

Evision your higher self blessing you and protecting you from harm.

When the candle has burned 1/3 of the way down say,

“As the flame of the candle is extinguished…

Evil, negativity, and harm towards me is banished!

Any entity, ghost or spirit her by mistake go into the light and pass on to the world of spirit,

be not afraid as many wait for you there who you have loved and who love you.

Extinguish the candle. But don’t blow it out!

Repeat this for 2 more nights. Bury or throw away the left over wax.

The Shoe

Obtain an old shoe, preferably one made of leather. Stuff it with protective objects, such as pins, needles, nails, tacks, scissors and bits of broken glass. Add protective herbs-such as rosemary, basil, fern, bay or mistletoe-to fill the shoe. Hang it in the attic or basement, saying these or similar words:

I place this charm of power

To guard my home from this hour.

 

The Bottle

Find a large bottle and stuff it with small pieces of thread of many colors (except black). This project will probably bably take you many weeks, since only small pieces of thread (one to three inches in length) should be used, and each must be introduced into the bottle separately.

As you add each piece of thread, say something like the following:

Tangle the bane up!

Tangle the bane up!

Tangle the bane up!

When the bottle is full, cap and place it in a window, in the attic or in a cupboard.

 

A Witch’s Bottle

Gather rosemary, needles and pins. Fill a small jar with these three ingredients, saying the following as you work:

Pins, needles, rosemary, wine

In this Witch’s bottle of mine;

Guard against harm and enmity;

This is my will, so mote it be!

Visualize these herbs doing just that. When the jar is full, pour in red wine. Then cap or cork the jar and drip wax from a black or red candle around the seal. Bury the jar at the farthest corner of your property or place it in an inconspicuous spicuous spot in the house. The Witch’s bottle destroys negativity and evil: The pins and needles impale evil, the wine drowns it, and the rosemary sends it far from your property.

Take a mason jar and put pins, needles, razor blades, cactus spines, rose thorns, broken glass, etc. in it.

Prick your finger and let at least 3 drops of your blood into jar(this binds the jar to you). While making the bottle concentrate your thoughts on what you are doing.

Urinate in the bottle and seal it well. Dig a hole and put it in it and say:

The term gris-gris derives from West Africa. Now frequently used as just another synonym for conjure, charm or mojo bags. Gris-gris originally indicated what the Portuguese called fetishes: handmade magickal objects. The original West African gris-gris often took the form of dolls, modern New Orleans gris-gris are often across between a mojo bag vodou paquets-congo, although doll-shaped gris-gris still exist.

For those who care about magical semantics, subtle, subliminal distinctions exist, however, mojo derived from on African word, usually implies magically acquiring success, whether in love, gambling, money, employment, or legal matters. Gris-gris implies protection; the gris-gris thus tends to cover the spectrum between benign protective spells and hexes.

A magic spell of protection and power for the home. This simple spell provides both protection and energy for your home. It is a spell that constantly grows in strength and can actually be done daily.

You will need:

A glass jar
A small amount of clean sand
A beeswax candle

Find a glass jar that you would like to use for your spell (a quart canning jar is a good choice). Wash the jar thoroughly inside and out with warm water and soap. Dry the jar completely. Light your beeswax candle and drop a few drops of molten wax onto the interior bottom of the jar. Next, place about one inch of sand in the jar.

Place the jar near an entrance door to your home. Every time you find a small stone, drop it in the jar. Any type of stone will do, so feel free to be creative with the stones used. You do not have to put a stone in daily, they can be added as frequently as you wish. It is important though that you put them in one at a time and the spell works best if you put no more than one stone in per day.

As you add each stone, speak the following words aloud:

Snare the evils, bring them woe,
Where they wish, don’t let them go,
Evil from this place be banned,
By this wish, by this command!

Once the bottle has been filled, put the lid on and leave it by the door. You can make as many of these as you like and place them by every door. Touch the jar and repeat your chant at least once a week to reinforce the power of the spell. This spell will help defend your home and family from the negative energy that uninvited visitors and negative thoughts can produce. It also introduces power and energy into the home and revitalizes a family’s strength.

Begin by gathering 3 red leaves from any plant, bush or tree. Lay the leaves on a flat surface to form a triangle. In the center of the triangle of leaves, place a lighted candle. On each leaf, place a few drops of chrysanthemum oil.

Speak aloud the following words three times:
Red leaves, gift from earth,
Birth to death and death to birth,
Keep all evil far away,
Day to night and night to day.

When you have spoken the words three times, extinguish the candle and wrap the leaves in a white cloth or place them in a white pouch. Place the packet under your mattress or near your bed within three feet of your head for protection against nightmares and invasions of evil.

Bells, Pots, Pans, Whistles, etc.

Cast a circle in the main room and after casting, visualize the circle expanding to include the entire house. Call upon the spirits and energies living in the house (or apartment). Invite those who will be harmonious with the new household and its energies to remain. Invite/ask those who will be happier elsewhere to depart. Release all “energies” not compatible with the new household.

Note: This may be expressed as a “release” in order to unbind anything that may be stuck.

Then call upon, greet, and invite ancestors, patron deities, and all harmonious spirits and energies to dwell in the house as they please.

Gather up the pots, pans, and all the noise-makers. Go to each door and window, not forgetting the fire-place and dog-door, making as much racket as humanly possible–to drive out the unwanted.

Go again throughout the house and at each portal (door, window, etc.) sprinkle salt-water and incense, saying: “By the Elements I purify and charge this portal.”

Then anoint the portal with milk and honey, saying: “By Milk and Honey I ensure prosperity and peace within this place.”

Finally, anoint the portal with oil, saying: “With Oil I seal this portal and protect all within.”

At the front door a special prayer is said, asking the guardian deities to freely grant entry to all friends and loved ones, and to prevent passage (turn aside) to any who would do harm.”

Then, if it’s a house–pour wine across the width of the threshold; if it’s an apartment anoint the threshold with light touches of wine.

The house-holders then each take a sip of wine, leaving some as an offering to the Gods, and the Circle should be closed. The remaining wine, milk, and honey should be offered to the Gods which can be accomplished by pouring over the ground.

Place a jewel, that you regularly carry on you, in a cup of spring water a day before the full moon. The following day, on the evening of full moon, stir the water three times with your finger in a clockwise motion. Take the cup in your hands and in a clockwise, stirring motion, move the cup in a clockwise, circular, stirring motion three times.

Then, repeat these words aloud:
O LIGHT OF THE MOON,

Raise the cup towards the sky and drink the water. Remove the jewel from the cup. You must carry it on your person to the next full moon in order to ensure your protection.

Repeat this ritual every month to benefit from its influence.

Once you’ve got all of the above things working on your behalf, if you still feel that you could use an extra dose of protection, I have personally always found that nothing protects as reliably or completely as good old-fashioned garlic.

For example, once you empower the garlic (whether it’s a clove, a head, a wreath or other arrangement, powder, or a supplement) in bright sunlight for at least five minutes (or by candlelight or fire if it’s nighttime or it’s cloudy out and you’re in a pinch), and infuse the garlic with your clear intention to protect you from all negativity and ill will, perform any of the following garlic protection practices according to your situation and desire.

Carry a clove of garlic as a protection amulet (I like to wrap one in cloth and safety-pin it under the front of my bra).

Hang a garlic wreath or arrangement on your front door or in a central location in your home.

Sprinkle garlic powder across your threshold or around the perimeter of your lot.

Take garlic supplements or cut a clove of garlic into small pieces and swallow them one at a time like pills to strengthen your personal energy field and keep negativity at bay.

Add fresh garlic or garlic powder to food. For extra-strength home protection, for each door to the outside, pierce a clove of garlic with two pins so that they are crossing each other, tie in a red cotton pouch with hemp twine, and hang on the outside of each door.

The following ingredients will be required.
* Five dried or fresh bay laurel leaves
*One cup (or more) of sea salt
*Five limes, sliced in half
* A splash of vinegar, preferably lemon vinegar
* A glass of spring water
*A glass of rose water or rose hydrosol, or one of the charged waters

1. Draw a warm bath

2. First add the salt and bay leaves.

3. Squeeze the limes into the water, tossing the fruit as well.

4. Add the other ingredients.

5. Enter the water submerge yourself completely five times if possible. Stay in as long as you like. Rub your body with the limes.

6. Drain the water while still in the tube. Allow yourself to air-dry amidst remnants of the limes and leftover leaves.

Spell To Strengthen Your Psychic Shield

SPELL TO STRENGTHEN YOUR PSYCHIC SHIELD

 

The night before the Full Moon, find a place where your altar will not be disturbed for 24 hours. Put the cauldron in the center with a red candle on the right side, black candle of the left side, and white candle in the back; but do not light them yet.

Sprinkle a mixture of equal parts of elder blossoms, marjoram, mint and rue in an unbroken circle around the cauldron. Into a tiny vial, measure equal drops of clove, frankincense, jasmine, and lavender. Set the sealed bottle in the cauldron and leave until the night of the Full Moon.

On Full Moon night, take a cleansing bathe and robe yourself in white. Carry a good protective or purification incense through every room in the house. Make certain that the smoke drifts into closets. Return to the altar and light the candles. Take up the dagger or sword. Face the East and raise the sword in salute. To salute in this manner, simply hold the sword point upward in front of you. Say:

By the power of the rising sun, all evil in my life is done.

Turn to the South, salute, say:

By the power of darkening night, my shield is strong, my armor tight.

Turn to the North, salute, say:

By Full Moon in blackening sky, I am not alone. My help is nigh.
The Goddess’s hands around me stay, To keep me safe by night and day.
Be gone, foul spirits, unbidden here. I send you back, I do not fear.
For I have won. I am set free. You have no further power over me.

Face the altar and take up the vial of oil. Put a drop of oil on your finger and anoint your forehead, heart, solar plexus, wrists and ankles. As you do this, visualize a shining blue suit of armor slowly descending over your body until you are entirely protected. Cap the bottle and store in a safe place.
Thank the Powers for their help and extinguish the candles. Apply the oil and repeat the chants whenever you feel the armor is slipping.

Light a cinnamon incense stick in the center of the room and walk to the north east corner or wall. Say:

“Earth and air, purify to good, blow away evil.”

Draw a pentagram of smoke and use the incense stick to stab through the center. Walk to the Southeast corner of the room and say:

“Air and fire, blow away evil, burn away pain.

Repeat the pentagram and stab the center, then walk to the Southwest part of the room. Say:

“Fire and water, burn away pain, wash away fear.”

Repeat pentagram and stab. Walk to the Northwest part of the room and say:

“Water and earth, wash away fear,
bury all negativity, purify to good.”

Repeat pentagram and stab. Walk to the center of the room. Point incense stick to the sky and say:

“As Above…”

Now drop an ash from the incense and say:

“So Below”

To make these incense you will need:

1 tablespoon pine needles
1 tablespoon juniper
1 tablespoon cedar

Make sure all ingredients are completely dry. Grind ingredients together and burn on charcoal. While the incense are burning chant the following:

Spirits of the corners,
Winds of the quarters,
You who stand watching,
And you who hear my voice,
Guard well my home tonight
