When can you see the full Hunter’s Moon?
The full moon will reach peak illumination in the United States on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, according to NASA. (According to other websites about Full Moons the date for this years is October 7th)
“The evening of October 6, look up and be amazed as the full moon is bigger and brighter because – it’s a supermoon!” a post on the agency’s website read. “This evening, the moon could appear to be about 30% brighter and up to 14% larger than a typical full moon.”
The Hunter’s Moon also doubles as a supermoon
This year’s October full moon, known as the Hunter’s Moon, will also shine as a powerful supermoon.
A supermoon occurs when the moon reaches the closest point in its orbit to Earth, making it appear bigger, brighter and more radiant than a typical full moon.
According to NASA, this Hunter’s Moon kicks off a rare series of three consecutive autumn supermoons, promising an especially striking night sky.
