Carista – Day of Peace in the Family

Color: Lavender
Element: Water
Altar: Upon a lavender cloth set a tray of cakes shaped like clasping hands, and many cups full of hot tea.
Offerings: Promise to attempt to be more considerate of those you live with.
Daily Meal: Any food, but it must be served from one great plate for every table, and it should not be in separate portions.

Carista Invocation

May there be Peace in this house.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)
Peace can be a hard mistress.
The daily round of the ordinary,
The simple turn of day and night and day
The presence of the same souls
Can come to be like a shadow on the sun,
And yet Peace still demands
That we find a way to move past
That ordinariness
And all the thousand thorns and briars
And bring Peace into the house.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)
Take the hand of your sister, your brother,
The one who shares your roof, your table,
The ground you walk on,
Whose feet know the boards as well as your own,
And swear to find a way
To bring peace into the space between you.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)

Chant:
My brother, my heart, my sister, my soul;
My family, my life, come in from the cold;
My sister, my heart, my brother, my soul;
My family, my life, that makes this life whole.

(Instead of a ritual, this period of time should be used to mediate and address problems between members of the community, with emphasis on peacemaking and compromise and useful solutions. At the end of the meeting, all share cakes and tea.)

Good Tuesday Morning My Precious Brothers & Sisters of the Craft! May The Goddess Shine Her Blessings Upon You Today!

witchcraft
Good morning, my sweets! How is everyone doing today? I hope great. Getting ready to travel? Having family over? Stressing out about cooking Thanksgiving Dinner? Well, I actually hate to cook. I don’t know if anyone else is like that but….I run across something this morning I would like to share with you(just in case you are like me, lol!). It is a simple meditation that hopefully make your cooking experience a little bit more pleasant. Keyword, “hopefully.”

Rather than viewing cooking as a chore, treat it as an opportunity to practice the meditative technique of mindfulness, or full alertness to the present moment. You will find that it makes cooking more enjoyable and enriching. As you prepare and cook the food, feast your senses on the hues, shapes, textures and smells of the ingredients–for example, the rich golden sheen of the turkey, the honeyed perfume of a pumpkin. Perform each action with deliberation and care as though partaking in a ritual act. Before serving the meal, give thanks for the food and the presence of the guests with who you will share it.

If that don’t work, do like I do. Wipe the sweat from your brow. Throw the food on the table and tell them how you slaved over a hot stove all day and all night. So you better eat up or else I am going to beat you with a drumstick, lol! Just kidding, I wouldn’t beat anyone with a drumstick or would I?

Now let’s get to work.

Love ya,

Lady A

*An afterthought* When you are preparing that turkey, stop for a moment and thank the turkey and honor its spirit. You can say it silently and it doesn’t have to be any elaborate, just a simple thank you will do. In my case, I always apologize to the turkey. I know it sounds crazy but I do. I apologize for the turkey having to be killed so we can eat. I honor the turkey’s spirit by saying a little prayer to the Gods to thank them for providing us with the turkey that we have to eat. I also ask them to bless the turkey’s spirit. After that is said I light a small sweet smelling candle in honor of the turkey and the feast to come. With the blessing said, the spirit of the turkey honored and the sweet smelling candle burning, you will forget you hate cooking and all the work you have put into preparing the Thanksgiving feast. Give it a try and see what a difference it makes this year. Put a little Celtic flare in your Thanksgiving this year!

Your Daily Planet Tracker for Nov. 19: Uranus in Aries, Now Until March 6, 2019

Pioneering, Energetic, and Self-Reliant

Now – March 6, 2019

When revolutionary Uranus enters the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, it’s a major signal for collective change. This shocking planet tends to shake the world with surprising events and individual breakthroughs. Uranus’s time in Aries helps us step into a new era of human history in which problems and solutions can break out with equal rapidity and in equally unexpected ways.

Aries is the sign of the individual and independent Uranus’ sojourn in this sign marks the next major changes in personal identity. We not only get to wake up and remember who we think we are, we’ll have the guts to live our lives more authentically then we ever imagined.

When Uranus is in Aries

Radical ideas about our future on this planet could emerge during Uranus in Aries, causing us to break away from the old models of biological evolution and religious explanations for our origins. This is a period when humanity could reinvent itself with major revisions in our understanding of the self and our relationships to one another. A brave new world could rise from the sea of the collective unconscious to awaken the next stage of human development.

During Uranus’ time in Aries, the field of psychology could make sudden leaps with the reintroduction of psychedelic therapies, while rapid advances in brain research may redefine the very notion of self. The relationship between humans and technology could also grow closer, continuing to blur the lines between these two areas. This transit could also stimulate nervous systems and simultaneously awakens a newfound sense of genius that initiates millions of brilliant ideas.

When Uranus tours Aries, we’ll all receive a cosmic jolt back to ourselves. We might have lost our true identities somewhere along the way or, for whatever reason, decided to shove it in a corner. Uranus in Aries will change that, encouraging us to make a radical change with the self and embrace whatever it is about our energy that reflects an independent spirit and higher mind (Uranus rules the higher mind).

However, this desire for personal revolution could make things dicey during Uranus’ transit through Aries. We may have little tolerance for anyone who threatens to step on the toes of our identities. We may feel impatient or even angry at the slightest indication of someone or something impeding our ability to express our pioneering spirit. We should embrace this opportunity to live more authentically, while also staying mindful of our tendency towards selfishness.

Uranus Retrograde in Aries

Uranus Retrograde is about getting real, facing our fears, and getting rid of whatever it is that no longer works for us in an effort to become who we want (or who we were meant) to be. Uranus Retrograde in Aries is like being given a cosmic nudge to do our own thing and express our individuality. If we’ve been feeling restricted in a certain area of our lives, this retrograde period will fuel our desire to rebel.

During Uranus Retrograde in Aries, we may each ask ourselves: Is my relationship holding me back? Is my current job preventing me from the kind of success I really want? Have others’ opinions stopped me from moving forward with an aspiration? Uranus Retrograde in Aries will shake things up, encouraging us to make changes in any areas of our lives that aren’t personally fulfilling.

If you were born with Uranus in Aries

You are a true trailblazer! Uranus is the sign of revolutionary vision, and Aries is the natural born leader of the zodiac. So when this planet and sign sync up in your birth chart, it gives you the ability to boldly go where nobody has dared go before. You’re the kind of person who readily embraces new concepts and situations.

With Aries’ strong desire to push forward and Uranus being the planet of radical change and technology, you could be someone who has helped pioneer breakthroughs in computing, medical science, aerospace technology, and other similar advancements. Suffice it to say, you could be someone who helps sparks a technological renaissance!

The downside to this love of moving in new directions is that you could love it a little too much. Impulsiveness is your Achille’s heel, causing you to move forward with something before determining if it’s a good idea. Just remember to look before you leap, so you can avoid potential headaches and consequences down the road.

Aries Tarotscope (March 21 – April 19)

Your card for the week: Strength

The Strength card is signaling that you have the inner fortitude needed to gracefully navigate a difficult situation in your life. It’s easy to get lost in emotions like anger, sadness, fear, or shame, but you’re being called to rise above that this week and remain calm in this time of adversity. Don’t act on your base instincts. Instead, embrace your more compassionate and forgiving side. This allows you to become a silent warrior who remains in control not only of yourself but the situation as well.

Taurus Tarotscope (April 20 – May 20)

Your card for the week: 5 of Swords

You’re being encouraged to choose your battles wisely this week. The 5 of Swords signals that a conflict is currently brewing in a particular area of your life, and a confrontation could take place soon. When it does, you may be tempted to win the argument at all costs — but have you considered what those costs are? In your attempt to prove you’re right, you may say or do things you regret later, as well as sabotage your relationship with the other person (or people). Before going to battle, consider how winning in the moment could lead to a long-term loss.

Gemini Tarotscope (May 21 – June 20)

Your card for the week: 2 of Pentacles

You’re going to learn that life is a balancing act this week! The 2 of Pentacles represents achieving harmony with opposing forces. Have you been called in different directions recently? Are what you want and what you need conflicting? Has work taken time away from your personal life or vice versa? This card wants you to take a step back and figure out where your priorities are. By knowing where you want to spend your time and energy, you can come up with a solution that sets you up for long-term success in all areas of your life.

Cancer Tarotscope (June 21 – July 22)

Your card for the week: 9 of Swords

The 9 of Swords indicates that you are suffering from some kind of loss or disappointment right now. This could have been something you saw coming, or it could have been something sudden and unexpected. Regardless, this stress has been weighing on you, possibly making you feel as though you’ll never recover from this situation. Take the time necessary to grieve and heal, keeping in mind that although what you’re going through is tremendously difficult, you can move on and grow from this experience.

Leo Tarotscope (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Your card for the week: The Hanged Man

Receiving The Hanged Man could indicate a major shift in perspective is coming this week. Alternately, it may mean that some sort of sacrifice is needed. The process The Hanged Man wants you to undergo in the days ahead may feel uncomfortable, but it can lead you to a much-needed release of negative past patterns that are no longer serving you. What have you been holding onto and how have these beliefs held you back? This week you’re being encouraged to let go of them once and for all.

Virgo Tarotscope (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

Your card for the week: The Moon

Don’t let fear could get the best of you! The Moon indicates that lingering hang-ups from a past experience could creep up this week, flooding you with memories you’d just as soon forget. This could be something you tried to stuff down into your subconscious, hoping it would work itself out over time. Instead of attempting to ignore the issue, choose to bring it out of the shadows and heal yourself. It might be painful at first, but keep in mind that the burden you’ve been carrying has also hurt you over time.

Libra Tarotscope (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

Your card for the week: The World

Your message for the week is one about creating more balance in your life. The Tarot gives you many opportunities to consider this theme, but The World card is quite possibly the ultimate expression of that need. This card is encouraging you look at every realm of your existence: emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual. Have you been lacking harmony in one of these areas? If so, you’re being encouraged to not only figure out how to achieve that balance, but how to maintain it as well.

Scorpio Tarotscope (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Your card for the week: 10 of Wands

Has it felt like you’ve been shouldering the weight of the world? The 10 of Wands acknowledges an immensely heavy burden you’ve been carrying around. It’s possible you’ve taken on too much in trying to meet your goals, and now it’s essential you ask for help or scale back on what you’ve committed yourself to. This may be a tough pill to swallow, because there’s issues of pride and an unwillingness to delegate at play. However, you’ve reached a point where your ability to meet your goal is compromised. You deserve to enjoy life, so ask for that helping hand this week.

Sagittarius Tarotscope (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Your card for the week: 10 of Pentacles

Lucky you! The 10 of Pentacles represents security, as well as success and accomplishment. Have you not been properly recognized for your professional efforts? Has it felt like the universe has put one obstacle after another in front of you? Has money been tight? Have you felt deflated in matters of the heart? Well, good news has arrived! You could finally see things coming together for you this week in one or more of these areas, rewarding you with a sense of satisfaction for staying the course no matter how tough things were.

Capricorn Tarotscope (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Your card for the week: 3 of Swords

The 3 of Swords wants to recognize the grief or heartbreak you may be currently suffering from. Perhaps there’s been a betrayal, or it could be that you’re experiencing some sort of mental anguish. This week, this card is asking you to persevere and stay in control of your emotions, so that you can move forward without falling apart. Just be sure that in your efforts to remain strong, you don’t become permanently detached. If you remain in touch with your emotional side, you could come out on the other side of this situation capable of loving even more than you were before.

Aquarius Tarotscope (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

Your card for the week: The Lovers

You could be facing a major decision this week! This situation may be presenting a moral dilemma for you, and The Lovers card represents needing to becoming clearer on what your values and beliefs are before determining how to proceed. Do you feel compelled to go a certain direction based on fears or feelings of guilt? Don’t let those things become motivating factors. Instead, try to understand that every action has a reaction and decisions such as these are never easy. Stay true to yourself — you can’t go wrong.

Pisces Tarotscope (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Your card for the week: 7 of Pentacles

Don’t give up just yet! Your card this week, the 7 of Pentacles, is reminding you that anything worth having can’t be achieved overnight. Perhaps you’ve been working on a project or area of your life and haven’t yet reaped the rewards of your efforts. Understandably, this has been a source of frustration for you. Remind yourself that this wasn’t a task you could have been finished overnight and take pride in the effort you’ve already put forth. Your hard work and patience may not have paid off just yet, but they will soon enough

The Scorpio-Sagittarius Cusp

Discover the power of the Cusp of Revolution

If you were born on the Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp, from November 18 to 24, you are an incredible source of strength and power! You were born on the Cusp of Revolution, which makes you passionate, capable, and ready to stand up and fight for your beliefs.

Because you were born on this cusp, you are influenced by the planets Pluto and Jupiter — the ruling planets of Scorpio and Sagittarius. Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, encourages you to right wrongs and embrace your personal power, while Jupiter fuels your optimistic outlook. It’s this combination of inspiration and transformation that makes you so revolutionary!

You are blessed with both the empathy of a Water sign (Scorpio) and the excitement of a Fire sign (Sagittarius), giving you a wide spectrum of abilities. There’s a combination of compassion and friendliness in you that makes you incredibly generous — just be wary of those looking to take advantage of your giving nature.

Born on the Cusp of Revolution, you’re action-oriented and strong, ready to lead and inspire! Your ability to stick to your guns alongside your outgoing, charismatic attitude will have you turning heads, making moves, and doing important things in this lifetime. One thing that’s sure to hold you back, however, is a lack of freedom. The more tied down you are the more stuck and frustrated you’ll feel. Seek opportunities that will allow you freedom and independence!

People born on the Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp are especially proactive and tend to be a bit wild or rebellious. You like to shake things up! However, this energy can be too much for some, and could make you seem intimidating or unapproachable. In fact, you may often be misunderstood by others, because they never know which version of you they’ll see: the fun, flexible, life of the party, or the fierce, complex creature with the sharp stinger.

Born on the Cusp of Revolution, you have strong values and beliefs and you aren’t afraid to speak your mind. You thrive around others who share your strength and vitality, and who don’t get rubbed the wrong way too easily — you’ve been known to ruffle a few feathers in your day! Your independence and intensity can lead you to do great things, but they can also cause power struggles in relationships and conflict with authority figures. Channel your ferocity into ambition instead of aggression, and there will be no stopping you.

Energetic, adventurous, powerful, accomplished, generous, passionate

Your combination of vision and determination gives you a competitive edge that will carry you far in life. The ability to think deeply as well as philosophically gives you a great understanding of who you are and where you fit into the world. The energy and intensity you feel fuels your desire to make positive changes for yourself and those around you. Your bright sense of humor, optimistic outlook, and willingness to interact genuinely with others will gain you fast, loyal friends.

Weaknesses:

Secretive, selfish, rebellious, wild, aggressive, blunt, misunderstood

With the fury of Scorpio and the fire of Sagittarius, your demeanor might seem aggressive or overwhelming to those around you. And since you always need to be on the move, you can get impatient if others get in your way or slow you down — be gentle with them, they could use your spunk! Your desire to fight for your beliefs is admired, but it can manifest as a rebellious and unfocused frenzy if your energy isn’t channeled properly.

Compatibility:

You’re a firecracker, and you need partners who respect your freedom and independence. Because Scorpio can be a very suspicious sign and Sagittarius prizes truth, honesty is one of the most important things to you in a relationship. You’re very attracted to anyone who is passionate about their work or talents, and you love cheering them on! Fire signs will mirror your intensity and will make fun life partners. A relationship with a Fire sign is full of steamy intimacy, but could have its fair share of explosive arguments, too! Water signs will provide the affection and connection you’re looking for in a committed relationship. They may be more emotional than you need, but their ability to care deeply and their efforts to understand you will make you feel loved beyond measure.

Advice:

Because you like to do things your own way, others’ feelings aren’t really a priority to you. But how long would you stick around someone who didn’t make YOUR feelings important? Hard as it may be, make an effort to put yourself aside once in a while and show the people in your life that they matter. Ask more questions, listen more attentively, and be more forgiving of mistakes.
