The Wheel of the Year

 

Eight is the number of spokes, or sabbats, that make up the Wiccan Wheel of the Year (note that all dates are approximate, and that names vary). The sabbats are: Samhain (October 31), Yule (December 21, or Winter Solstice), Imbolc (February 1), Ostara (March 22, or Spring Equinox), Beltane (May 1), Litha (June 21 or Summer Solstice), Lughnasadh (August 1), Mabon (September 22 or Autumn Equinox), Yule, Ostara, Litha, and Mabon (Solar Festivals) are known as the lesser sabbats, while Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh are the greater sabbats.

 

Eight Tools

If you do not already own the witch’s eight traditional working tools, consider whether you need any or all, of the following: an athame (a black-handled dagger), a white-handled dagger or sword, a chalice, a wand, a scourge, cords, an incense censer and a pentacle.

I, Witch

I am many things,
I am a Daughter, a Lover, and a Friend.
I am a Teacher, a Student, and a Woman.

Wear many costumes,
And act in many ways.
Yet beneath each mask I wear,
I am a Witch.

I am a Priestess,
I follow the Path,
I follow the Old Tradition,
I follow the Ways of the Wise Ones.
I seek to know the God,

Though I may only dress up,
For eight sabbats a year,
And thirteen esbats in turn,
I am always a Witch.
Though I may not always dress in black,
Or leave my hair wild and free,
I am still a Witch.

I do not worship Satan,
I’ve never even met him,
Yet many see me as evil,
And magick as a sin.
I do what comes natural,
What the Gods have taught me,
And although it does not conform,
I am still a Witch.

The Goddess shows me beauty,
The God has shown me life,
And Earth, and Air,
And Fire, and Water,
Teach me what is right.
And Spirit in its mystic ways,
Teaches me about myself.
That I am a Witch.

WOTC Public Service Announcement

We feel it is our obligation to report and try to protect our members when certain topics or news events arises that might effect you. Most of you probably view the 3 major broadcasting networks in the States. If you do, you need to find another source for your news. The following story has not broke on any of the major networks yet. Will it? Good question.

It was reported last night on Fox News that Facebook is trying to gain access to your personal information. When I say personal information, they are asking banks for access to your bank account numbers, your monthly statements, your credit card information, their balances of those accounts and any other information the banks might have. They are not asking for you to give them permission, they are by passing you and going straight to your bank. If you are a Facebook user you need to be made aware of this information. Facebook has been rocked in the past year with scandal after scandal falling stocks, being sued overseas for giving away their members personal data. Now to add to all the pitfalls Facebook has had, they are contacting your banks for your personal banking information. why, what is their true purpose behind this latest antic? They are no going through any legal channels to do this. If you have ever given Facebook any of your information, then you have handed them the key to your financial information.

Facebook recently opened a dating service. Was this to distract from what they were really up too? Trying to obtain your monthly checking account statements? In these days and times, we have to be extremely careful about who we give our information too. With the events that have come to pass in the last year involving Facebook, is this the type of company that you would want to have access to your monthly bank statements, your checking, your savings or even your credit cards. Personally, I don’t want anyone having my personal information. I hope you don’t either. Facebook’s reputation has fallen in the past year, they do not meet the standards they original set for themselves. It is coming to light Facebook is not a reputable as people once thought they were.
