Prepare for Equinox Energy Gateway

Prepare for Equinox Energy Gateway

This Equinox is a key energy threshold that offers a gateway into a new future allowing for more balance and new beginnings. Here are some preparations you can put in motion now to benefit in the highest way.

Equinox, as a reminder, occurs each March and September, signaling a change in seasons and a new beginning. It’s much more than a date on a calendar, especially now.

These times are unique, to be sure. The first weeks of 2017 have been filled with a parade of surprising events and an underlying sense of urgency about where our world is headed. As I wrote about in “2017 Predictions,” these are unprecedented moments with a lot at stake. Each of us has a role to play in creating the world we want, and simultaneously living our best lives – guided by spirit.

With polarity and division becoming increasingly commonplace in so many countries, the need for balance is crucial. With many people feeling discouraged or simply blocked about moving forward, the energy boost of this gateway can provide significant openings. Continue reading to know how this applies to you.

3 Tips to Benefit Most from This Equinox

FIRST, slow down enough this week and throughout the weekend to be still and do some inner reflection. You deserve this time and stillness. You need quiet away from tasks and devices to listen deeply to your heart and inner wisdom. Some of your greatest breakthroughs come when you aren’t focusing on a desired outcome but simply being open to a higher view of circumstances.

SECOND, change is all around you now, and on many days it likely feels like the new normal is to have everything upside down. The most important change to focus on, however, is the one going on inside of you in these moments. Each outer world event can show you something new about yourself and what you need to shift. Invite that knowing, then be present enough over the next several days to see and integrate a radically new view of your potentials and ideal next steps. Consider that many of your greatest future accomplishments could be outside your radar – so be open to new ideas.

THIRD, keep the big picture in mind all week, regardless of how bumpy the energies get. Yes, these are intense times, and some days you may feel challenged by disturbing dreams or daytime dramas. The weekend of Equinox, however, begins on a high note that can boost your spirits in a grand way. In fact, Saturday with the beneficial Mercury-Venus conjunction, don’t be surprised if you wake up optimistic and feel like the sky is the limit. Utilize this energy to enjoy yourself, connect with loved ones, and join in group meditations like the one we plan Saturday with The Council of 12. Doing these things will raise your frequency and put you in the expanded consciousness space needed to benefit from this gateway.

Spiritual fuel and a change of pace this weekend can help you reset your energies and recapture your joy and enthusiasm for being on Earth now.

At your core, your true nature is joy. Some days you may forget this, but it is always there.

You as a divine changemaker are wired to prevail even when things feel challenging or when you temporarily lose your way. Your inner light is the beacon that leads you through the darkness to find your way home.

The Witches Guide to Fridays

Celtic WarriorThe Witches Guide to Fridays

Ruler: Freya, Venus

Colors: Emerald green or pink

Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following.

Key Words: Love, money, health

It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. In the word Friday, we see the roots of the name of the Norse goddess Freya, a goddess of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses thus the verse “Friday’s child is loving and giving.”

In Spanish this day of the week is called Viernes and is derived from the goddess Venus. Matters of love, human interaction, the fluidity of communication, sewing and the creation of artistic garments, household improvement, shopping, and party planning all fall under the aspects of Friday and its ruling planet, Venus.

Friday’s angels are Ariel/Uriel, Rachiel, and Sachiel. Rachiel also concerns himself with human sexuality and is a presiding spirit of the planet Venus.

On Fridays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Venus, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual.

Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

The Magickal Day of Friday

Friday falls at the end of the work week for many of us, and that means we get a chance to relax for a little bit! Mark your Fridays with colors like pink and aqua, and metals such as copper. This is a day ruled by the planet Venus, so it should be no surprise that Venus and Aphrodite – goddesses of love and beauty – are associated with Fridays. This is a day named for the Norse goddess Freyja, so be sure to take a moment to honor her as well.

Gemstones associated with Friday include coral, emerald and rose quartz, and plants like strawberries, apple blossoms and feverfew are also related. This is a good day to do spellwork associated with family life and fertility, sexuality, harmony, friendship, growth. Take advantage of Friday’s correspondences and plant a seed, make something grow, and enjoy your blessings

*Note: There are a lot of disputes as to the origins of the word Friday, because there is still a great deal of discussion as to whether it was named for Freyja or Frigga, and whether they were the same deity or two separate ones. Some scholars believe that while they may have eventually become two distinctly different goddesses, they could have had their origins in a single, common Proto-Germanic deity.

On Friday, March 17th, We Celebrate…..

Celtic AnimeOn Friday, March 17th, We Celebrate…..

Easter (Date and Location Vary)
OSTARA

Themes: Fertility; Rebirth

Symbols: Egg

About Ostara: The Teutonic goddess Ostara presides over personal renewal, fertility, and fruitfulness. Now that spring is here, it’s a good time to think about renewal in your own life. Ostara represents spring’s life force and earth’s renewal. Depicted as lovely as the season itself, in earlier writings she was also the goddess of dawn, a time of new beginnings (spring being the figurative dawn of the year). One of Ostara’s name variations, Esotara, slowly evolved into the modern name for this holiday, Easter.

To Do Today: All spells and foods that include eggs are appropriate today. If you’ve been ill, try an old folk spell that recommends carrying an egg for twenty-four hours, then burying it to bury the sickness.

To improve fertility of all kinds, make eggs for breakfast at dawn’s first light, the best time to invoke Ostara. As you eat, add an incantation like this one:

Ostara, bring to me fertility;
with this egg now bless my fruitfulness!

Or, if you’re feeling down and need a little extra hope, get up before the sun rises and release a symbol of your burden to the earth by dropping or burying it. Don’t look at it. Turn your back and leave it there. Turn toward the horizon as the sun rises, and harvest the first flower you see. Dry it, then carry it with you often as a charm to preserve hope in your heart.

Venus and Mercury, A close pass in the evening sky

The Sun’s two closest planets are staging a switcheroo this month. Mercury is climbing higher into the evening sky, while Venus is dropping out of the evening sky. And if you look at just the right time, you can see them standing almost side by side the next few evenings.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Since Earth is the third planet out, Mercury has a limited range of motion across our sky, so the little planet rarely climbs into really good view. At best, it’s visible for a little while before sunrise or after sunset, quite low above the horizon.

Mercury passed behind the Sun earlier this month. Now, it’s moving away from the Sun, so it’s climbing into the evening sky. In fact, this is its best evening appearance for the entire year. It’ll climb higher over the next few nights, making it easier to see.

Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It’s getting ready to cross between Earth and Sun, so it’s dropping lower in the sky each evening — ready to move into the morning sky in about a week.

For now, though, look for Venus quite low in the west beginning about 15 minutes after sunset. It’s the “evening star,” so if you have a clear horizon, you can’t miss it. Tonight, much fainter Mercury is close to its lower left, but you probably need binoculars to pluck it from the twilight glow. The two worlds will stand side by side tomorrow night, with Mercury climbing away from Venus — and into better view — on succeeding nights

March 17: Venus and Mercury

The Sun’s two closest planets are staging a switcheroo. Mercury is climbing higher into the evening sky, while Venus is dropping out of the sky. Venus is the brilliant “evening star,” with much fainter Mercury close to its lower left tonight.
March 18: Moon, Antares, Saturn

The planet Saturn is in good view early tomorrow. It looks like a bright star to the lower left of the Moon at first light. The bright star Antares stands about the same distance to the lower right of the Moon.
March 19: Vernal Equinox

Those of us in the United States will wake up to a new season tomorrow. Spring begins at 5:29 a.m. CDT, which is the moment of the vernal equinox. It occurs when the Sun crosses Earth’s equator from south to north.
March 20: Crater

The constellation Crater, the cup, is visible this month in the southeastern evening sky. Its stars are faint, so you need dark skies to find it. To ancient European cultures, Crater represented the birthplace of storms.
March 21: Milky Way Clouds

The stars of the Milky Way intertwine with clouds of gas and dust that can span many light-years. Some of them are bright and colorful; others, dark and quiet. The dark clouds are giving birth to new stars. They are dark because their gas is cold.
March 22: Winter Circle

Spring has already sprung, but a great pattern of stars named for winter still dominates the western evening sky. The Winter Circle includes some of the most prominent stars of all, including Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky.

Along the way you will be seeing…..

Celtic Green Woman
Some Irish curses that I grew up and now some of them are rather humorous and some of them are very deadly. But for those amongst us that enjoy these kinds of things, I thought, why not? All Irish curses take the same form, they are intended to be said to the victims face, many people spit on the ground after delivering the curse, or crossing themselves. Who knows the wrong look and you could have been cursed!

“May the worms devour your dead body, and may the rains do harm worse.”

Celtic Commandments

CelticCeltic Commandments

Give thou thine heart to the wild magic,
To the Lord and the Lady of Nature,
Beyond any consideration of this world.

Do not covet large or small,
Do not despise weakling or poor,
Semblance of evil allow not near thee,
Never give nor earn thou shame.

The Ancient Harmonies are given thee,
Understand them early and prove,
Be one with the power of the elements,
Put behind thee dishonour and lies.

Be loyal to the Lord of the Wild Wood,
Be true to the Lady of the Stars,
Be true to thine own self besides,
True to the magic of Nature above all else.

Do not thou curse anyone,
Lest thou threefold cursed shouldst be,
And shouldst thou travel ocean and earth,
Follow the very step of the ancient trackways.
