Today’s Cosmic Calendar for Sunday, February 26th

Romantic partners need to be on alert as the Sun makes a contra-parallel with Venus (1:03AM PST). Of course, this kind of linkage can be either a tug-of-war or an illuminating awareness as it is somewhat similar to a zodiacal opposition. If you are flying solo and unattached to a dear one, delve into one of your favorite arts or crafts. Slow down as the Moon makes its monthly opposition to Saturn (4:53AM PST) – a potential roadblock that also starts a void-of-course lunar cycle lasting until 6:31AM PST when the Moon enters earthy Taurus. Hit your stride in big business affairs and career pursuits as the Sun parallels Saturn (1:07PM PST). Learn valuable lessons from esteemed mentors and teachers who know the score. A burst of euphoria can arrive later on when the Moon makes its monthly union with Jupiter (7:44PM PST). Attend a play, the ballet, symphony performance, poetry or piano recital. Let your optimistic mind-set rule the roost – particularly as the Sun and Moon lend their support via an invigorating, 60-degree link (10:54PM PST). The love boat sets sail for exotic ports of call after midnight since alluring and magnetic Venus approaches a razzle-dazzle, exciting parallel to often passion-enhanced Mars (forming exactly at 8:54AM PST tomorrow).

Daily Cosmic Calender for Friday, February 24th

Life in the fast lane of Aries Moon after a recent New Moon can be a race against time to accomplish everything on your to-do list. Early on, surprises and unsettled conditions are the norm rather than the exception while the Moon unites with shock-master Uranus (12:27AM PST). Shortly thereafter, there is a mammoth rise in healing energies circulating around – courtesy of the annual Sun-Chiron union in Pisces (1:07AM PST). Learn more about advances on the cutting edge of alternative medicine. Look into the mysteries concerning ancient ruins, pyramid power, ley lines, crop circles, missing time, UFOs and ETs. This search into the unknown is magnified as Mercury parallels Chiron (5:33AM PST). Some flak may appear on the psychic radar screen regarding problem-solving as Venus forms a frictional, 45-degree connection with Pallas (11:17AM PST). Love is in the air as the Moon parallels Venus (3:49PM PST). Don’t be surprised if erotic impulses pop up unexpectedly. Meanwhile, be more productive with arts, crafts and your favorite hobbies as the Moon unites with Ceres (7:36PM PST). This conjunction doubles as an activator concerning diet and nutrition, as well as nurturing children and pets in your family circle. Enjoy competitive games like pool, darts and bowling as the Moon parallels Mars (9:24PM PST). Get set for a wild cosmic ride on Saturday as a mixture of challenging and opportunistic alignments weave their compelling influences throughout the day.

Regifugium – Day of the Abdication of the Sacred King

Colors: Gold and black
Element: Fire
Altar: On a black cloth set a crown of gold in a bowl of ashes, three lit black candles, and two lengths of cloth – one golden silk sewn with trim and jewels, and one plain rough handwoven cloth in the colors of the Earth.
Offerings: Prostrating oneself on the ground before the altar. Giving up something in which one has great pride that is no longer useful to anyone.
Daily Meal: Food that is plain, unseasoned, simple, and coarse.

Regifugium Invocation

Hail to the King in his glory!
Yet turn away your eyes
For he has grown weary of his throne
And he finds that power
No longer brings him joy.
On this day in cold Solmonath
Before the coming of the Spring
He finds that pride has fallen
Into ashes
And that he longs for a morning
That breaks on a simpler life.
Hail to the King as he descends
From the high places
Where he has grown accustomed
To ruling and serving.
He will now serve a greater purpose
Within a smaller boundary.
May the Gods smile on those
Whose soul tells them
When they must step down.
Hail to him who is no longer King
And blessed be the rest of his days.

Chant:
The King hath died to the world of the Crown
Let the trumpets sound – away he rides
Yet life goes on – Regifugium.

(All prostrate themselves, are sprinkled with the ashes, and contemplate what they must give up.)

Diasia: Day of Ua Zit

Color: Black
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon a black cloth set three knives, a sword, and a sickle in the shape of a serpent; two white candles, and a bowl of barley.
Offerings: Any atonement for a wrong done by you, your family, or your ancestors.
Daily Meal: Fasting until the following morning.

Diasia Invocation

We have walked upon the face
Of this our generous Mother
And done wrong to many,
Whether by accident or by design
Or only by our lack of mindfulness.
Before we walked here,
Those who made us walked upon the face
Of this our generous Mother
And did wrong to many,
And their wrongs made them strong,
And their strength gave life to us.
We are born of the pain and toil
Of others, and this price
Is etched into our bones.
There are none truly innocent
Anywhere on the face of the Mother,
And we must all atone
For ourselves and for our blood.
Therefore we shall live always
With this knowledge over us,
We shall share a bed with its presence,
We shall learn to love its painful truth
And yet never become accustomed to it.
We shall work to atone for this legacy
Even if we only do no more harm
Through action or inaction.
We are children of Fate,
And we cannot afford to be blind
To the wrath our footsteps leave behind them.

(All sit on the floor and meditate. At the end of the meditation, the barley is poured as libation.)

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Thursday, February 23

Stop, look and listen! The cosmos wants you to be patient, calm and receptive to higher guidance. As mentioned in Wednesday’s calendar entry, the Moon in Pisces remains in a void limbo cycle until 6:49PM PST when the Moon enters fiery, independent-minded Aries. There is no need to dash out of the starting gate too soon since tensions are filling up the psychic atmosphere early on as Mercury opposes Mars (3:26AM PST). Reflect on your recent and current investment plans as the Moon unites with Vesta in Pisces (5:13PM PST). It is also wise to review insurance rates and coverage, and make sure your residence has adequate safety and security systems. Relationships are on the questionable side of the astro-psychic spectrum due to a feisty Sun-Juno square from Pisces to Sagittarius (5:37PM PST). Wear kid gloves when handling love bonds. Once the Moon enters Aries (6:49PM PST), your tendency will be to push forward in an assertive, willful manner. However, Vesta makes an off-kilter, 150-degree tie to Saturn (9:12PM PST) — becoming a further reminder to make sure you are safe at home and that your business affairs are rock-solid

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Wednesday, Feb. 22

Strange forces continue to be on the prowl following yesterday’s tumultuous happenings. Now you need to deal with a rather strident Mars-Saturn contra-parallel (12:01AM PST) that can send shock waves and negative emotions moving through primary partnerships. Be extra sensitive to dear ones under duress. Fortunately, the annual Sun-Pallas union in Pisces clocks in at 9:48AM PST. This solar conjunction to Pallas can help you perform some unconventional wizardry concerning problem-solving, strategy sessions, in-depth research, and strengthening your immune system. Communication channels receive an energizing burst during the monthly Moon-Mercury union (4:36PM PST), but shortly thereafter the monthly Moon-Mars opposition (6:25PM PST) ignites potential mischief-making with associates or dear ones while also beginning a lengthy void lunar uncertainty zone lasting for over 24 hours until 6:49PM PST tomorrow. Finish old business during the void-of-course lunar cycle, but don’t launch new, bold enterprises until the Moon enters Aries on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, Venus forming an off-kilter, 150-degree tie to Mars (8:26PM PST) throws a potential monkey wrench into the affairs of sweethearts. It is doubtful whether a shock-bringing Moon-Uranus parallel (11:00PM PST) will add a sense of calm. Do your best to bring happiness to a significant other without exhausting yourself in the process.

Carista – Day of Peace in the Family

Color: Lavender
Element: Water
Altar: Upon a lavender cloth set a tray of cakes shaped like clasping hands, and many cups full of hot tea.
Offerings: Promise to attempt to be more considerate of those you live with.
Daily Meal: Any food, but it must be served from one great plate for every table, and it should not be in separate portions.

Carista Invocation

May there be Peace in this house.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)
Peace can be a hard mistress.
The daily round of the ordinary,
The simple turn of day and night and day
The presence of the same souls
Can come to be like a shadow on the sun,
And yet Peace still demands
That we find a way to move past
That ordinariness
And all the thousand thorns and briars
And bring Peace into the house.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)
Take the hand of your sister, your brother,
The one who shares your roof, your table,
The ground you walk on,
Whose feet know the boards as well as your own,
And swear to find a way
To bring peace into the space between you.
(Response: “May there be peace in this house!”)

Chant:
My brother, my heart, my sister, my soul;
My family, my life, come in from the cold;
My sister, my heart, my brother, my soul;
My family, my life, that makes this life whole.

(Instead of a ritual, this period of time should be used to mediate and address problems between members of the community, with emphasis on peacemaking and compromise and useful solutions. At the end of the meeting, all share cakes and tea.)

New Moon Report for February 21 – New Moon in Pisces

New Moon Report for February 21

by Jeff Jawer

New Moon in Pisces

Tuesday, February 21, 2:35 pm PST, 5:35 pm EST

Every New Moon in Pisces is an invitation to dive into an ocean of emotion. This boundless sea of feelings can inspire our dreams or flood us with confusion. Idealistic Neptune’s conjunction to this spiritual lunation brings us even closer to a cosmic sense of unity that stirs religious fervor and enhances imagination. Boundaries melt away to deepen our connections with one another and with nature, spurring compassion, hope, faith and charity.

The Pisces New Moon is like a warm bath that drains our worries away. It soothes the pains of isolation and disappointment by floating us above the complexities of daily life. Taking breaks from routine activities to nourish the soul with sweet music, tender touches and spiritual reflection restores hope and rewards us with a greater awareness of our divinity.

Cosmic Calendar for Tuesday, February 21

Easy does it! Days like this don’t happen that often – when a New Moon (activating 3 degrees of Pisces at 2:36PM PST) occurs with a wide variety of significant alignments. In addition, until that 2:36PM PST moment, the dark-of-the-moon monthly cycle is in effect – reminding you to finish enterprises begun during the last four weeks. To get a sense of today’s complexity, examine the following list of aspects as the Moon forms a contra-parallel to Mars (12:22AM PST), the Moon parallels Mercury (8:13AM PST), a void-of-course lunar cycle in Aquarius happens from 8:18AM PST to 9:32AM PST, Venus makes a 45-degree link to Neptune (9:21AM PST), the Moon enters Pisces (9:32AM PST), the Moon unites with Neptune (10:49AM PST), Mercury forms a 135-degree tie to Saturn (12:38PM PST), the Moon unites with Pallas (3:37PM PST), the Sun makes a 30-degree contact with Uranus (3:59PM PST), the Moon unites with Chiron (6:55PM PST), Mercury forms a contra-parallel with Venus (6:56PM PST) and the Moon makes a 60-degree link with Jupiter (8:10PM PST). When a dozen solar, lunar and interplanetary aspects vie for supremacy and you are shifting from an Old Moon to a New Moon vibration, count your blessings. It is not a sign of weakness to take several time-outs in order to catch your breath and revamp your game plan for overall success and achievements during the next several weeks. Studying metaphysics and advanced subjects in any field of knowledge is encouraged as the Moon unites with the trio of Neptune, Pallas and Chiron during only an 8-hour time-span.

Calendar of the Sun

Feralia: Day of Purification

Color: White
Element: Air
Altar: On a white cloth put a lit candle, incense, a cup of water, and a bowl of salt.
Offering: Although this day is not a day of total silence, it is a solemn day and talking should be done only when necessary and in quiet tones. Bodies should be thoroughly cleaned during the bathing hour, and then the altar area should be cleaned and purified with all four elements. Each person, upon entering the altar space at the beginning of Sponde should remove their clothing and be naked, and each body should be purified with the four elements and marked with water and salt, at which point they may enrobe again. Chores of the day should concentrate on cleaning and repair.
Daily Meal: Vegan and extremely simple and plain.

Feralia Invocation

Breathe the air into your body
And breathe out again,
And as you breathe out,
Let all grime and corruption
Depart on that breath
(All breathe together for twelve breaths.)
Feel the blood coursing through your body
And imagine it clean
Of anything but what should be there.
Feel the energy coursing through your body
And wash it clean
Of anything that does not belong.
Feel the Earth beneath you,
Remember that She can absorb all
Remember that all rot is her provenance
Draw her energy up into you
And give it back again.

(After this grounding, all breathe together again in a yogic breathing pattern for the next half an hour, after which all will go with water and salt and incense and fire to all rooms in the house and cleanse them. Great care should be taken for the rest of the day not to disturb the energy of the freshly cleaned house.)

Cosmic Calendar for Monday, February 20th

Slow your tempo across the board as the universe takes a well-deserved siesta. Except for a gentle and peace-loving Moon-Venus 60-degree sextile pattern (4:29AM PST), a dreamy-visionary Moon-Neptune parallel (7:13AM PST) and a logic-enhancing Moon-Saturn parallel (11:33PM PST), the cosmic scene is relatively quiescent. Love vibrations increase in wavelength – thanks to the Moon-Venus and Moon-Neptune contacts. Allow your multi-faceted personality to express itself with an experimental and improvisational tone to match the lunar currents flying high in Aquarius. Continue enjoying your affiliation with groups, clubs and organizations that fit well with your outlook on society and cultural values. Think more about your exalted destiny on Spaceship Earth rather than superficial interests. Join forces with like-minded souls who are trying to help their fellow human travelers awaken to their global citizenship. This is especially the case as this Monday evening morphs into Tuesday morning when a torrent of cosmic aspects arrives in concert with the Pisces New Moon.

Day of Tacita

Color: White
Element: Earth
Altar: On a white cloth lay a single lit white candle and a bell.
Offering: From the moment of Auge until Hesperis, there is to be a rule of silence in the building. The sole exception is the reading of the invocation. After the Hesperis ritual, silence resumes until the following morning.
Daily Meal: Soft food that does not make crunching noise, such as soups or cooked grains.

Tacita Invocation

Goddess of Silence,
You whose stop the tongue
Before it can speak harm,
Before it can speak lies,
Before it can gossip,
And finally
Before it can say anything
That is not necessary,
Teach us about the still spaces
Between ourselves and each other
Between ourselves and our path
Between ourselves and the Gods.

(The person doing the invocation then rings the bell, and from that moment on, silence reigns again. All sit in meditation about the altar for a time, and each may leave quietly when it seems right.)

Day of the Fish: Beginning of Pisces

Colors: Deep ocean blues and blue-greens
Element: Water
Altar: Set with cloths of sea colors, shells, pearls, the figures of fishes, a chalice of water, rolls of bandages, a pot of salve, and a scrying ball.
Offerings: Shells. Salt water. Aid and give help unselfishly to someone in need, especially someone whom you feel is not deserving of it.
Daily Meal: Fish. Seafood. Seaweed.

Invocation to Pisces

Glimmer in the deepest waters,
Dweller in water salt as tears,
Sacrificed and sacrificing,
Neptune’s elusive child
Bathed in obscuring mystery,
Whose gift is Faith,
Bless us with the ability
To step beyond ourselves
And learn compassion
For all beings.
By the power of all believing,
You challenge us
To remember always
That we are part of a destiny
Much greater than ourselves,
One in the Many
And Many in the One.
May we go forth
Always in hope.

Chant:
Born of water, cleansing, powerful, flowing, healing, we are….

(Let one who is chosen to do the work of the ritual walk about with the chalice of water and bless each person on the head with the waters of Pisces. Then let them walk about with the pot of salve and ask, “Dost thy heart need healing?” If the answer is no, let them bow to each other, and the bearer say, “Then have thou compassion for those who do.” If the answer is yes, s/he will rub a bit of the salve on the person’s heart chakra, and say, “By the grace of the Gods, may thou be healed.” Then the water is poured out as a libation.)
