Bojangles is a four and a half month old Boxer, Pitbull mix. She’s roughly three and a half months in the photos. I rescued her at six weeks old. The mother wasn’t producing enough milk and was rejecting her and her sister. She is now an energetic and very very affectionate puppy, and also very well behaved.
She is very outgoing. She loves everybody and loves other animals as well cats and dogs. She is very active and loves to play tug of war the most. She also loves rawhide bones, and she knows sit and lay down very well. And about 70% of the time will shake (but she’s still young). When I come home from work she jumps into my lap and licks me for a good five to ten minutes, because she’s so excited to see me again. She is very affectionate. If she’s not in “play mode,” she likes to just snuggle up next to you and put her head on your lap and sleep. She loves going for rides and when she’s in the car she’s on my lap snuggling up to me and tries to lick me. I love her. |

After our eighteen year old poodle died I thought I could never love another dog. A few months later I was browsing on the internet and saw an ad for a Toy Poodle puppy. Even though I didn’t want another dog I kept looking at that ad. Finally I decided I had to meet this little puppy. Well I took one look at that adorable face and immediately fell in love. We’ve had Nelson for six months and he has brought so much joy into our lives. He loves to snuggle with me on the couch and there is never a shortage of kisses. When we come home he is always waiting at the door to greet us with a wagging tail and and a happy howl. Even though Nelson is only 5 1/2 pounds he’s a terrific watchdog and protects our yard from pesky squirrels. He has also become a wonderful big brother to our Dusky Conure Rocky. Nelson has proven that a house really is not a home without a Toy Poodle!

This is Dixie. She is such a fun loving dog and brings joy to everyone in the house. She shares a birthday with my younger sister, which makes her even more special to the rest of the family. We have two other dogs in the house as well, a female lab named Sandy who is only a week older than Dixie, and an elderly black lab mix named Bear. They all get along just fine, especially the younger two, who will wrestle and play all day long if we let them.
Dixie is a great companion, and she goes with me everywhere I can possibly take her, including school! I am studying to be a Veterinary Technician, and I often bring her to my campus with me; dogs are welcomed there with open arms. She loves going for rides in the truck, no matter how far, and she especially likes the small fries I sometimes get her at the drive through. She is a very active dog and enjoys going for walks and her favorite form of exercise is swimming! She could swim for hours upon hours if I didn’t call her out of the water so she could rest. I love going fishing, and she is always by my side-as you can see in the picture with water in the background. She is very curious about the fish I catch though – not quite sure what to make of them. Dixie also makes me laugh every day, whether she won’t stop licking me or she is burying her body under my blankets in a game of hide and seek, I always get a kick out her. I love Dixie with all of my heart and she brings so much joy and excitement to my otherwise pretty ordinary life. |

UtchiB, as I call him, came from a backyard breeder. She was a very young woman who didn’t know what she was doing. I had lost my beautiful ten-year-old soulmate Sphynx, MooShoo on my birthday, February 13th from thrombosis.
I swore I would always have a beautiful Sphynx in my life, but only a rescue will do. I searched for over a year to find AustinButchie. When I took the hour-long road trip, I didn’t know what to expect. The breeder told me she was in over her head, and proceeded to bring a cat carrier full of beautiful nekkids down for me to see. Out popped UtchieB!!! He was a wild man, running all over the place. He was older than the other kittens, but I found his playfulness intriguing. Later on, I realized that he was probably the runt of his litter, as he is very small for his age. He is goofy, charming and a purr machine. UtchieB wanted nothing to do with his carrier, insisting on riding on my shoulders, purring all the way home. As far as gradually introducing him to my fur crew? Well, let’s just say he kept climbing over the babygates I had stacked in my bedroom door to be with the gang. The rest is history. UtchieB was entered into his first cat show shortly after that. While he did “okay” in the Household Pet category of the TICA show, a judge friend said he definitely needs to be shown as a purebred alter. Unfortunately, I do not have his papers so that wasn’t an option. He is happiest being housecat, though. And that’s okay with me!! |

Shii-Anna is also known as Shii-shii, Shii-bear, Bear-bear, and Shii-Ann. Shii-Ann is my gift from the heavens; It was two years ago when my Mom got a call from a family member asking if she would take a dog, and a cat because they could not keep them in their current situation. My Mom began uttering the word “no” when I asked her to let them know that I would take their husky. Shii-Ann is named for her personality, she is an extremely skittish dog, if a person she does not know walks into the room she hides. From the moment I met Shii-Ann, she and I both knew that she was meant to be my pet.
She is a couch loving pup, with a passion for chasing tennis balls, and going for runs. She Loves to howl “I love you,” and runs away when it’s pill time. I love her as most people love their children, and I feel blessed to have her. |

My rabbit Smokey is very special to me for many reasons. This rabbit came from the breeder to the store, and had never been touched by anyone but me. He was so cute, I decided to get him right away. This is his picture from last Easter, didn’t he make the cutest Easter bunny?
That night I got him my whole life changed. This rabbit is super soft and cute. We named him Smokey because he’s grey. This rabbit likes to cuddle and play anytime. And he can really sense your emotions. For example, if I’m sad he’ll come up to me and put his head on top of my shoulder and sit there for ever until I feel better. If I’m happy, well let’s just say I can’t get my hands on him. He can go so fast when he’s jumping around, and running and leaping and turning! You would not believe it. He’s very special to me. |

This is Bella! She is almost three years old, and is a black lab/border collie mix (we think, as she is a mutt). She currently lives with her family in New Jersey, and she loves it here! She prefers her water with ice cubes in the summer time, as you can see, and has a good time with them.
Bella is a very special pet because she is incredibly sweet, and has a knack for making people feel better when they are sad. We got her to cheer up our older dog (who is now ten), and she does a fantastic job! She keeps him young with her youth and vigor, but also proves to be a wonderful napping companion. Bella is such a kind dog, and we have literally never heard her growl. She loves to curl up next to any of her humans and cuddle, and she loves going for car-rides and walks. Bella knows lots of tricks, such as the typical sit, shake, lie down, jump, speak, and roll over. She is also very good at catching treats in her mouth, and we like to challenge her by not throwing them directly to her. She is very affectionate around strangers, but she has a good sense of who is “good” and who is “bad.” Whenever we have guests over, she immediately warms to them, because she can tell that they are “good” people and friends of her humans. She has lots and lots of toys, because she likes to take them into our backyard and collect them all in one place and then bury them. Luckily for us, we know all her hiding spots (mostly), and she tends to forget where she puts them. Bella is also very brave. Unlike our older dog, who is terrified of rain, thunder, lightning, wind, etc., Bella seems almost fearless. However, she does not like the pool, which is very uncommon for a lab. We have taught her how to swim and where the steps are in case she is ever to fall in, but she continues to hate it, even after two very hot and humid summers. Despite her being black, she loves to spend summer days basking on our deck in the sun. At times, she seems almost cat-like, because of her hatred for water and the way that she stretches (she arches her back up in a cat-like fashion). She is also known to knead her bed before she lies down and walk in circles for a few minutes before finally deciding where to lie. Bella also has lots of very intricate dreams, and she snores quite loudly and often moves her legs, as if she is chasing something. We love Bella, and we hope you do too! |

Shaolin is special because he super nice and bring joy to all other dogs and people. He loves to play in the snow.
Shaolin was born in a shelter to his one-year-old mother. He and some of his siblings were rescued by Chow Chow rescue of Central New York. The rest of them (including his mother) were all adopted, either by the shelter or the rescue group. His mother lives in Virginia and we have contact with her and a few brothers and sisters through FaceBook. Shaolin has his own page and is friends with chows all over the world at Shaolin Chow Panda! We adopted Shaolin when he was four months old, right after Christmas of 2010. By this time, he was completely housebroken and very happy and secure. We have found Shaolin to be a very well-mannered, polite dog. He is very interested in other dogs and is always well-behaved, no matter how they behave. He is good with nervous or somewhat aggressive dogs. He does not start trouble, but he does not back down either. He approaches all dogs and people first expecting that they are going to be great friends, and he is always right. He loves small animals and is calm enough that we sometimes let him visit with some of our pet rabbits. Being a chow, he can be a bit stubborn and even a little aloof with strangers at times. But he has never acted mean or aggressive toward anyone, just disinterested. Shaolin isn’t really big on tricks (other than licking his lips with his big purple tongue on command) or games. He is usually serious, but a few times a day he will act a little silly and run around in circles, just hoping anyone will chase him. We knew right away when we got Shaolin that he was going to be a great dog. When Shaolin came here, it was very cold in Canada. We knew that it was going to be very important to keep him properly socialized with other dogs and people. So along with his daily neighborhood walks, we also made the effort to take him out a few times each week to a park nearby. He loved running around there in the snow and visiting with other people and dogs. I am sure that he cannot wait until it gets cold again. We also thought that it would be great for him to have a dogmate, so we found a border collie – shepherd mix named Panda who was rescued from an Amish puppy mill. They are great friends and get along very nicely. Even though she is younger and much smaller, Shaolin lets Panda be the boss. She is a bit selfish and pushy, but he is a good older brother and very maturely lets Panda be herself. They love visiting dog parks together and Panda herds Shaolin if he gets to far away from her.  |

I adopted Mike from the shelter in Spokane, WA, after my husband went to a nursing home and my sixteen-year-old Springer Spaniel died. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix – mixed with what, we do not know. My other dog, Rita, who is eleven years old, had never been an “only dog”. She had never spent an entire day by herself! Both of us were lonely. Then we found Mike! Now we are a home full of toys and activity and love.
I was worried at first that another dog would be a lot of work. I was right! But I love every minute of it. I’m never bored and I’m never lonely, and neither is Rita. He has brought new energy to our lives and has made our little family feel whole again. He is a very special dog!  |

Kute, Kuddly Kitty of the Day for Sept. 28th

This is our huge cat, Coupe. Coupe’s mother was a pregnant stray that found us back in 2004. She gave birth to six kittens in our bathroom three weeks after we took her in. I wanted to keep one of the kittens (and their mom!) and chose Coupe because he was the only kitten of the six who didn’t scream his head off every time I picked him up. We found very good homes for the other kittens. Our neighbor took two of the kittens and we still see them regularly.
Our vet believes Coupe is part Maine Coon because of his size. He is extremely large and very heavy. He is not a very friendly cat, though. He is scared of just about everything and if he is outside he will viciously attack any dog that gets too close – including our own. He has even attacked me a few times when I’ve made a sudden noise by dropping something or closing a door too hard. My husband thinks Coupe has something mentally wrong with him – and maybe he does – but he’s a very nice cat when he’s calm. He loves to be pet (only his head and neck, though!) and have his shoulders massaged. Coupe has a very odd personality but we love him just the way he is.   |

Can You Believe It Is Thursday Already?
Happy Thursday to all my dear friends! My hand is doing much better, so I figured I would whine at you a bit. I was totally amazed I haven’t written anything in about a week and I got a comment about me whining. Whining? What the hell am I whining about? I am nursing a sick hand. Good grief! Come to find out, it was from the same person that always writes to me about my whining. So I figure big deal, this person must really be a miserable person. I could go into preacher mode here but I won’t, lol!
I don’t know if you noticed or not but I am working on a new Goddess page, The Goddess Hecate. It was strange, I was working on the page and Kiki started raising heck. In case you are new to the blog, Kiki is my little Pomeranian familiar. Anyway, this was her bark that something was in the yard bark. So I got up to look and in the yard was a timber wolf. I liked to fell out in the floor. I went running through the house to the porch outside. I just had to see him. He came within about 100 feet from the porch. He was solid black and looked very mean and angry. Since it is unusual to see wolves during the day out in the open, I knew something had to be wrong. I first thought of him having rabies and what a brain I was for running out the door. But I took his appearance as a sign from Hecate. I wasn’t afraid of him at all. But then again, I haven’t run into a wild animal I am afraid of. I use caution around them and eventually I can become friends with them. Well when the wolf turned his side to me, I could see what the problem was. He was hurt on his side. My husband who run out behind me to see what the matter was immediately said, “Don’t you dare?” But as soon as my husband spoke, the wolf wandered off. I don’t know if the wolf comes back, I might try to help him. But the timber wolf is the meanest wolf there is. I don’t know just working on the page about Hecate and the wolf showing up, I sort of took it as a sign from Her. Perhaps She was happy I was finally doing a page on Her. Perhaps I am totally wrong and it was just a coincidence that the wolf showed up the same time I was doing Her page. But I thought it was unusual anyway. I have had other strange occurrences. I will tell you about them some other time. My hand is starting to act goofy, I can tell I have typed enough. I just had to share about the wolf showing up. I had a wolf-hybrid and I had to have her put to sleep after 15 years of companionship and love. So I love wolves.
Well I am going to go for now and get busy doing the Dailys. I would hate to think you fired me for not doing my job, lol. I hope you have a great Thursday.
