SPELL BINDER

SPELL BINDER

This is best used at the end of a spoken or written spell.

This adds a certain boost to the releasing of energy.

It also works best if you are wearing a Pentagram you have attuned to yourself.

Speak these word with all the fibers of your body while releasing the spell’s energy:

By the Pentagram I wear,

Water, Fire, Earth, and Air,

Ruled by Spirit as All should be

As I speak

So Mote It Be!

A GENERAL CHARGE FOR SPELL WORK

A GENERAL CHARGE FOR SPELL WORK

The following chant is a good all purpose chant that can be used for just about any spell:

Witches power burning bright, tarot, rune and blade,

Charge the spell, enfilled with might, here and now the magic’s made.

Wave and tree, hedge and flame, strength of the elements gather here,

to bless this work and charge it well, to complete the spell now far or near.

Mystic Moon and Brilliant Sun, send your power here this way,

Gracious Lady, Mighty Lord, bless this charge that I lay.

Powers that are, powers that be, gather round this spell I cast,

empower my working three times three, send it forth to see it last! So Shall it Be!

Purchase a new bottle of vanilla extract. Remove the cap and visualize a red light flowing

from your Third Eye and coloring the liquid in the bottle.

As the light flows into the bottle, chant :

“Where I place you, you will draw

(Need) from places near and far.

You will bring (need) straight to me.

As I will, so mote it be!”

Recap the bottle and take it to your chosen spot. Sprinkle a few drops around the area.

MIRROR MAGICK

MIRROR MAGICK

Take a small mirror and lay it down, so it reflects up at you.

Then take a bowl of water (preferably a glass or silver bowl, but any bowl will do.

HINT: If using a ceramic bowl, plain is best.

You should use a bowl with pictures on it only if you have to (unless they are hieroglyphs).

Only use plastic bowls if you absolutely have to.

Put the bowl of water in the center of the mirror, and surround the mirror with candles

(this spell should be done in a dark room, or at night).

The spell works best if the candles are vanilla or lavender.

There should be four candles, one at each corner of the mirror (or, if using a round mirror,

one at each of these points: Northeast, Northwest, South east, Southwest).

In between the candles, on the North, East, South, and West sides of the mirror,

put incense burners (the spell can work without the incense, but it works better with it).

Put a small piece of silver (it can be a coin, a piece of a fork, anything) in the bowl.

Look down at the mirror, and chant this:

Mirror, Mirror, on the floor,

reflect for me forever more,

give me now the thing I crave,

I’ll give it back when I’m in my grave,

A pool of water, A touch of ice,

a teardrop from the moon, all this I have and all I want, Is this.

Then you say what you want.

Lady A’s Spell of the Day – The Gift

elfe et son dragon

The Gift

This lovely ritual. It is a spell that is intended to open us to the abundance of the universe, not for a specific requirement. The gift may manifest as a physical object, an opportunity, a realization, connection, etc.

You will need a cord of appropriate colour, at least 1 metre (3 feet) long, depending where on the body it is to be worn: wrist, ankle, waist. Centre yourself and draw up energy. You may visualize this growing as a golden light in your solar plexus. Consecrate the cord by the power of the four elements. You will need to make nine knots, starting in the centre and alternating each side. As you are doing this visualize yourself receiving a gift, chanting ‘The gift I desire is mine’ nine times and ending ‘As I wish, so will it be’. Charge with energy and tie on to your body. On each of the following nine days take off the cord and open one of the knots, keeping the centre knot until last. Keep the cord tied to your body and on the last day release the centre knot. As this knot is undone, release the spell by saying ‘By the power of Air I release this spell’ and blow on the cord. Then ‘As I will, so will it be.’ Bury the cord where it can rot naturally and return to the earth. Watch out for your gift. It might not be what you expect and it might tell you something about yourself.

Sunday and the Perfect Corresponding Spell

Sunday and the Perfect Corresponding Spell

Finally, it’s Sunday, the official day of rest. Not only do Christians acknowledge this day, but I’m sure many Pagans appreciate this day, as well. Everyone needs rest and lot of people need a good day to worship their creator (whomever or whatever that may be), however they deem fit to do so. With the Sun being the central theme of many ancient rituals, Sunday just seems to fit, in name and theory. Not only is it a good day to worship, it seems good to do more relaxed spells, such as, sleep, dream and rebirth.

An Evaluation/Promotion Tarot Spell

Got an evaluation coming up at work? There is nothing worse than having to go over a review form. You know you deserve a good raise, but how much will your manager or the company be willing to dole out? Or are you trying for a promotion? Sounds like it’s time to hedge your bets, so to speak. Try your hand at this tarot spell.

Gather the following:

• A carnelian tumbled stone for success and to boost your career or a quartz crystal point for extra power

• i yellow or gold candle (white will do in a pinch-it’s an all-purpose color)

• Our three featured tarot cards: the Ace of Wands, the Sun, and the Chariot

• An item in sympathy with the spell that you are casting

You can also add the health, wealth, and success philter to this spell if you wish. Just anoint the spell candle with the solar-powered oil you have created.

What exactly is an item of sympathy? It is any item that is sympathetic to what you are working for. Since this is a job-related spell, an item in sympathy could be your recent paycheck stub, ID badge, or your business card. So, with that thought in mind, adding this sympathetic item to your other correspondences only helps to unify the magick. It does this by uniting the energies and giving you something very specific to focus on.

Arrange your items in front of the candle. If you wish, anoint the spell candle with the philter. Now, light the spell candle and focus on the cards and your item of sympathy, pathy, and then repeat the spell below three times. Check out the last line of the spell and adjust this as necessary.

Just like the golden child who rides under the sun

I call for recognition of a job well done

This spell candle illuminates my way

Bringing success and wealth to all my days

Goddess, bless my ambitions, they are fair and true

While this higher career goal/promotion I do now pursue.

Close the spell by saying:

For the good of all, with harm to none

By the sun and stars, this spell is done.

Let the candle burn until it goes out on its own. Keep the carnelian in your pocket or purse, and the cards and your item of sympathy together and on your person for one week, until the following Sunday.

Destructive Knot Spell

DESTRUCTIVE KNOT SPELL

If there is a situation, problem, possible menace you are facing, there is a knot spell for this.

Take the cord and firmly visualize the problem in all its agonizing detail. Become emotional about it; seethe with anger, crumble into tears, whatever works. Then firmly tie the knot. Walk away from it, out of the room if possible.

Take a shower, eat, do whatever will get your mind off the spell and allow you to relax. When your emotions are stabilized return to the knot. With calm and peace untie the knot.

See the problem vanishing; dissolving into a dust that is swept away by the cleansing, refreshing North wind.

It is done.

WOTC Extra – Waxing Moon Spell For Confidence

Egyptian Comments & GraphicsWaxing Moon Spell For Confidence

We all need a bit of a confidence boost every so often so give this little spell a try.

What you need:
A malachite crystal
A white candle
A green candle

If you would like to, you can dress your altar with white flowers and add some sprigs of green parsley. Set the green and white candle on your altar and sit in front of them, light them both.

Take the malachite crystal in your hand and ask out loud for help from the Divine for courage, confidence and communication skills. Visualise yourself as being full of confidence. Touch the crystal to your mouth for the blessings of communication, to your ears for the power of listening and understanding, and then to your throat for the blessings of confidence.

Focus your thoughts on the candle flames until they burn out, keeping hold of the crystal as you do so. You can then carry the crystal with you in a pocket, purse or bag.

A Spell to Enhance Creativity (Creativity Spells part 4)

Choose something that represents the area of your life where you would like to enhance or increase your creativity. Any object or symbol will do. Keep it in a place where you’ll see it daily. Every time you see it, think of Star Trek and use Captain Picard’s slogan: “Make it so.”

Feel the words as you think them. Feel your changing beliefs. Then, make a gesture that’s connected to your creativity at least once a day for a month.

Spell for Creativity ( part 3) A Spell to Change Outmoded Patterns

Once you’ve identified the patterns you want to change in your life, make one small gesture that expresses your intent. Then, on the first night of the Full Moon, jot down your desire on a sheet of paper, in ink of a color that seems appropriate for what you want. For instance, if your wish is to be more creative with your financial investments, then use green ink. Or, if you want to be more creative in your professional life, use gold ink. Then light two candles of a close or matching color and read your wish out loud three times. Back the words with emotion— say them as if you mean them. Tuck your written desire under a power object and let the candles burn out naturally. On the second night of the Full Moon, light two more candles of the same color. Repeat your wish three times. Then touch the paper to one of the flames and say: As this paper is burning, I release my wish, my need, My deepest yearnings, A new life’s seed. When the second set of candles has burned out on its own, toss it out.

One Definition of a Muse

images

Wiccan Wonderings:

What, exactly, is a creative muse, and how can you get in touch with it?

The creative muse is nearly always spoken of as “she.” But a muse can also be a “he” or have no gender at all. It can simply be energy that you name, as you might a beloved pet. To get in touch with your muse, simply put out the request: Write it in your journal; tell yourself as you’re falling asleep that you’re going to communicate with your muse in a dream; meditate on it; or even write your muse a note.

Earth Day Ritual

Earth Day Comments & Graphics
Earth Day Ritual

The Celebration of Earth Day is of great importance to the Pagan community. It is after all Mothers Day.

Although this was written as a group meditation ritual it can easily be modified for a solitary ritual as well.

You will need;

White or Yellow candle (Air)
Red candle (Fire)
Blue candle (Water)
Green candle (Earth)
Goddess candle

Set up your altar, with the colored candles at the four cardinal points. Purify with salt water or sage

Light your Goddess candle and cast your circle.

Light the other four candles. Take a moment, stand peacefully until their flames burn slowly and steadily.

Sit or lie down so you are relaxed, with a pillow under your knees if that helps your back to be straight and comfortable. Look at the five candle flames.

Breathe slowly and deeply, not straining. With every breath in, take in relaxation and calm. With every breath out, release tension and worry

Feel gravity gently pressing against your body, pressing you to the ground, to the earth, and then slowly, feel yourself sink into the earth. Slowly, slowly sink slowly into the earth. Send your consciousness down through the grass, down through the soil and down, deep down, into the earth. Be aware of the mass of rock that lies beneath the soil- shale, quartz, sandstone, granite; the black, white, and red-shot through with bands of minerals, darkly glittering; crystals that shine like stars within the stones ….Let your consciousness become one with the earth: You are a mountain as old as the planet itself, once part of the seabed, thrown up by unspeakable forces now stilled, silent, enormously, timelessly rooted in the earth, your head in the stars………or perhaps a minute grain of sand, one among trillions and trillions, endlessly shifting, sifting, with the ocean tides … Forever a part of the earth ….

Now shift your consciousness and become aware of the plant kingdom: algae and seaweeds, forests of kelp, grasses blowing gently in a savanna wind, yellow and orange lichens on a rock in a woodland, prickly pears, an ancient oak wood, a rain forest blooming with delicate orchids, vines hanging heavy with fruit … You are the earth, the soft green moss on a rock by a stream, a mountain strawberry, a wild rose………..do you feel the wind blow your petals ever so softly …….

Again alter your consciousness to become aware of the animal kingdom…. listen to the voices of the wild: the roar of the tiger, the belling of the stag, perhaps the howl of the wolf; the cries of owls and the tap, tap, tapping, of woodpeckers, the whirring of a birds´ wings as it passes over head, the padding of soft paws………become one now with the animal kingdom, with the salmon leaping upstream, the fox gliding silently through the night, or the snake shedding its skin…feel what your new body is like and what it feels like to creep, or walk, climb, run or fly in free motion….

And now once again alter your consciousness and become aware of the human kingdom …mankind, human, you are standing on two feet …notice how different that feels: you can stand like a stone, grow like a plant, move like an animal, but you can now create with your mind and your hands and you can sing and you can dance and you can dream in your heart and make that dream real upon the earth …for you are a Goddess/God on this earth. You are a part of the Mother.

Now when you are ready, slowly open your eyes .

Ritual Chant

Mother Earth, We have seen your rocks and layers
We have been the dust storm, the ancient volcano’s lava;
We have Swum in your oceans, and flowed in your streams.
Run with the wild brothers and sisters, And howled at the Moon.
We have spun amongst the comets and asteroids,
Burned with creation’s fire, frozen in ice in the void.
We have been music, the song of the spheres, the frequency of the stars.
We have been a human being and feel our connection
Our connection to every other thing that lives; for everything has life.
Mother Earth we pray to love You and protect You.
So Mote it Be

Feel the Earth under you, draw up power, raise it up fully, feel it streaming out of your hands and your third eye. Hurl the power over your head to close the hole in the ozone layer; to shower down and bring understanding to those who do not know our Mother; to heal and to bring peace.

“Pagan Prayer”

May my heart be gentle;
My mind still and open;
My spirit unshackled;
My awareness keen;
My conscience clear;
My nature giving.
May I be a healing energy;
May I be of benefit to all;
May my life enrich others;
May I know what matters;
And live in harmony with Nature.

Close the Circle and thank the Mother

Elemental Magick

A Few Idea for Celebrating Samhain

Samhain/Halloween October 31st.

All Souls Night, Feast of the Dead, Festival of Remembrance, Feast of Apples, New Year…

Samhain is one of the major festivals of the Wheel of the Year, for many Pagans the most important festival of all. It is the third and final harvest festival of nuts and berries and a fire festival. All the harvest is in, all is complete, it is the end of the cycle of birth and growth, it is the point of death. The seeds of the harvest have fallen deep into the dark earth, they are unseen, dormant, and thus apparently lifeless.

The God, as Sun King is sacrificed back to the land with the seed until the Winter Solstice, and the Goddess, now as Crone, mourns Him until His rebirth at Yule. He travels the Underworld learning its wisdom. This is the time of the descent into darkness, of pre-conception, out of which new life, new ideas, will eventually emerge.

Traditionally the veils between the worlds are at their thinnest now. Boundaries dissolve and all is laid bare. It is time to honour and offer hospitality to, our ancestors.

At Samhain the dark half of the year commences. It is a truly magical time. Death is always followed by rebirth and while this is the end of the old year, it is the beginning of the new year. For the Celts the day did not begin at dawn, it began at sunset, it began with darkness. Light is always born out of darkness, they are inseparable, interdependent, and necessary. Darkness is fertile with ‘all potential’. With the beginning of this dark phase comes the opportunity to rest and reflect on the past and to dream of new beginnings. The seed now hidden in the earth will germinate in its season. Look for the seeds in yourself!

Honouring The Ancestors

Honouring your ancestors is a very special thing to do at this time and can be done in many simple ways. Think about all those departed souls from your life, both family and friends, children may wish to remember pets even – place photographs of them on your altar. Offer them your hospitality, welcome their presence into your home. At your Samhain feast, consider laying an extra place for them to join you at the table – cook and eat their favourite dishes, talk about them – re-member them, bring them closer. You and your children can make an offering for departed pets by leaving some dog food outside on Halloween night, many night creatures appreciate this offering.  Be careful what you put outside – we used to put out bread and milk but are dismayed to find that this is fatal to hedgehogs – and we lovehedgehogs!

Candle Ceremony for The Ancestors

This is a wonderfully simple ritual which can be shared with both friends and family, or worked alone. You can include children in it – it begins in darkness and ends full of light.

It’s a great balance to trick or treating!

You will need a supply of small candles, either black or white, or a supply of night lights. You need a heat proof container or tray of sand or earth to put them in. Place one in the centre of the container from which all the others will be lit. Switch off all the lights and sit gently in thedarkness. Allow the darkness to enfold you. Ask for the presence of your ancestors to come to you. When you are ready, light the central candle saying “We welcome our departed loved ones into this home and honour your presence amongst us”. Allow each person in the circle to spontaneously remember someone who has passed to the Summerlands and remember something about them and light a candle for each person from the central candle: ‘I remember Great Aunt Sheila and her generosity of heart….’. Allow this to continue for as long as it takes to complete the re-membering. You will end with a tray full of radiant candles. When all is complete, give thanks, and allow the candles to burn to completion.

Seed Scattering Charm for the Ancestors

This simple charm is designed to honour the Spirit of those who have passed onto the Summerland. The seeds you scatter will grow in memory, a gift of remembrance to the Earth.

You will need:

A packet of seeds of your choice

A small dish

A small white candle in a suitable holder

A pouch or bag for your seeds

The night before your Seed Scattering Charm, pop the seeds into the dish and light the candle. Think about the person or people you wish to honour and remember, and as you do so say ‘gone from sight but not from the heart. Merry Meet Merry Part.’ Or you can use your own words. Leave the seeds in the dish overnight and let the candle burn down completely – always taking safety precautions. When you are ready place the seeds in your pouch and hold the pouch in your right hand on the way to a place of your choosing. On arrival take the seeds and scatter them, saying ‘You are remembered and held in my heart’. Repeat three times.

Where to do this? You can go to a favourite special place of your choice, a place that holds fond memories of the people you are honouring, or even your own garden – the idea of watching the seeds germinating and growing in honour of people you love is very special. The charm works just as well if you plant the seeds in a small pot.

This charm works very well as an offering of thanks to Spirit of Place. The instructions are exactly the same, except that when you prepare the seeds the night before the words are ‘ I give thanks for your beauty, it warms my heart. Merry Meet Merry Part.’

Charm donated with generous heart by the Counter Enchantress.

The Isle of Avalon, Isle of Apples, Isle of the Dead.

Glastonbury, where we are based, is also known as the Sacred Isle of Avalon, or Isle of Apples, and also the Isle of the Dead.

In mythology, here the entrance to the Underworld is found, ruled by Morgan, Queen of the Dead. There are many apple games played at Samhain which grew out of the belief in the Apple as a sacred and magical fruit. The Apple is a symbol of life and immortality. In Celtic tradition, apples were buried at Samhain as food for those souls who are waiting to be reborn.
The Apple, cut crosswise, reveals the five pointed star, or pentacle at its core, a symbol of the Goddess.

Symbols of Samhain

The Pumpkin

Pumpkins are very much an American tradition which has been successfully marketed in the UK and Europe. Everyone loves them, especially of course, children. If you consider that the Celts regarded the human head as the Seat of the Soul, the concept of the carved pumpkin with a candle inside it as the Light shining from the Soul, it becomes just about acceptable……..

The Cauldron

The Cauldron or Holy Grail is closely associated with Samhain. It is feminine, and is the cosmic container for all life and death, of transformation and rebirth.

The Besom Broom

The besom is used as this time both practically and symbolically. It sweeps away the last of the Autumn leaves, but is also used ritually to sweep out the old, to clean and clear away old energy, creating space for the new. Traditionally besoms are made from birch twigs – the birch is associated with purification and renewal.

You can make a besom at this time of year by gathering a large bundle of birch twigs tied together. Drive a broom handle into the middle of the bundle – ideally hazel or ash.

Acorns

The Acorn is the seed of the great Oak, representing wisdom, longevity, rebirth – a promise of strength to come. An acorn in your pocket is an amulet of good fortune to come. All nuts from our indigenous trees – walnuts, hazelnuts, conkers and so on – are pure potential and carry the attributes of the mother tree.

Colours of Samhain

Black for death and endings, orange for the vitality of life within death, purple for wisdom, insight and inspiration.

The Samhain Altar

A cauldron. Apples, nuts and berries. Black candles to honour the passage to the Summerland and the Ancestors. Photographs of deceased family and friends.

Buttermilk Bread Charm for Samhain.

You will need:

3 mugs of strong white flour

500 ml of Buttermilk (available from the supermarket)

I teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda

Samhain ribbon in black or purple.

A handful of rye flour

A scattering of oats

twig of rosemary for remembrance

Place the flours in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre. Sieve in the blended salt and soda and pour in the buttermilk. Mix well with a wooden spoon until the dough feels springy. If it feels too sloppy just add a little more flour. Turn it onto a board and cover with a fine dusting of flour. Pat it with your hands until you have a round shape. Take a sharp knife and score lightly into eight sections, one for each festival. Our picture shows the bread scored five times to make a pentacle.

Place onto a greased baking tray and pop your buttermilk bread into a moderate oven for about 20-25 minutes. Keep and eye on it. When the bread is ready it will change colour and it will sound hollow when you tap the bottom. Cool completely on a wire rack. When it is cool, place the rosemary on top and tie it with Samhain ribbon.

Take time to concentrate on the bread you have created and turn the loaf three times saying

“From the fields and through the stones, into fire, Samhain Bread, as the Wheel turns may all be fed. Goddess Bless.”

Now take your bread and share it with your family and friends and pass on the generous blessings of this festival of completion and beginning. Eat it fresh, as soon as it is made if you can.

The Counter Enchantress is discovering that you can add almost anything appropriate to this simple bread recipe and it STILL WORKS beautifully. You can decide for yourself what the appropriate additions are for a particular festival, in this case rye flour. oats and rosemary, and just do it. There is much kitchen magic in working with one recipe through the Wheel of the Year just changing it a little as the wheel turns…..

Honour the ancestors, have fun and enjoy………..
