I have friends who live in places where it snows every year – and they totally recommend using snow balls for releasing works. One method shared was this –
write that which you wish to release on a small piece of paper, with a felt-tip marker (the kind that will smear when it gets wet).
make a snowball around the piece of paper and place it into a bowl.
you can put the bowl on an altar and Call on the assistance of a deity to aid in your releasing efforts, if you’d like 🙂
Focus on what you wrote, the energies it includes.
As the snowball melts (yes, this will take a bit – no respectable releasing work is done in 5 minutes) relax into the feeling, and the thought, of letting it go.
When the snowball has completely melted and you feel lighter, pour it into a pot and set on the fire to boil (this shouldn’t take long at all). Or, if you prefer, put it onto a microwave until it boils.
As it is coming to a boil, speak, acknowledging,
“I have written it down and melted it away –
I feel lighter and brighter today.”
Pour the boiling water back into the bowl and take it out of doors.
Pour to the ground, saying,
“Cleansed by Fire.
Cooled by Air.
Purified water.
I offer to the earth.”
