Current Moon Phase

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2019

Today the Moon will be in a Waxing Crescent Phase. A Waxing Crescent is the first Phase after the New Moon and is a great time to see the features of the moon’s surface. During this phase the Moon can be seen in the wester sky after the sun dips below the horizon at sunset. The moon is close to the sun in the sky and mostly dark except for the right edge of the moon which becomes brighter as the days get closer to the next phase which is a First Quarter with a 50% illumination.

A broad discussion among a gathering got me thinking………

What do you think about Grey Magick? Its only white magic I follow and there is no way I would conform with Satanism, well along those lines anyway.

I believe as Wise ones it is important that we are versed in our history of humanity, in its belief systems, religious and other practices. So this article is mainly to clarify within myself and for those who question their path that……..

Psychic Shield

We all need to protect ourselves from unwanted energies that we pick up from others, so today I thought I would share with you a modality that is completely mine that you can use on a daily basis to protect yourself in your path of being a witch.

When we pick up others energies, we are taking on their emotions and moods. This shield should be practice at lease once a day, so either in the morning or at night, whichever is best for you.

Start by getting comfortable, and a place you will not be disturbed. Start by closing your eyes and releasing tension or anxiety as much as you can.

Now visualize a purple light surrounding you, starting at the top of your head and then flowing down your entire body, through your heart Chakra down into your feet and then releasing into Mother Earth.

Now remember the purple light will get stronger and stronger and it is filling your body and its origin comes from the Goddess and God of your choice.

Next you will let the purple light come back up into your feet and then it surrounds your entire body into an oval shape, expanding out from your body. As the light forms around your body it encases you and it stretches out for 2 inches, then four inches, then 6 inches out from your body.

Now, affirm this statement: “The power of the Universe has surrounded me. Therefore the purple light around my aura is strong and protected, whereas it will repell any and all unwanted energy from others. I am safe within the boundaries of this purple light and nothing can harm or affect me. So mote it be!”

Now image the purple light going into the Universe, but the protection shield around you will remain enforced.

Now severe the rest of the energy by placing your hands about your head and slowly coming down and touching Mother Earth.

This is a very strong modality that I can up with about six months ago and it is very strong. I use it daily.

Christmas..Witches..Oh My!

The legend of Befana began thousands of years ago and remains to this day a tradition practised by Italian children and their families. As the story goes, one day, the three Magi left their country bearing special gifts of gold, incense and myrrh for the new-born Jesus Christ. They were guided by a star across many countries. At every village that they passed, people ran to meet them and accompany them in their journey.

But there was one old woman who did not join the Magi. She claimed to be too busy with her housework and promised to join them later when she had time. The next day, she realized her mistake and frantically ran after the Magi with gifts for the child, still clutching her broom. But it was too late – the Magi were long gone.

I have recently embarked on making my Witch bag and I wanted to share with you the knowledge I have acquired and continue to gather as I walk my path of magick.
What is a witch bag?
Throughout time many shamanic traditions use spirit bags. The traveling healer uses the bag as a tool kit and a talisman for their spirit allies.
The Celtic Shamans call their spirit pouch a crane bag. Its origins lie with the sea God Mannanan Mac Lir where its contents would change with the changing tides. The witch’s bag should never be the same, never static, move with the ebbs and flows of life.
In Strega traditions they are referred to as the nanta bag where traditional tools and symbols of the 4 elements are housed.

As I reached into my Witch Bag hanging over my shoulder, to grab that essential something, it warmly reminded me of my grandmother Gigi who is in the Summerland’s.

She was a cumbersome Greek woman with long white braided hair that always and I mean always wore an apron, from the minute she woke up, till the time she was ready to go to bed.

The little I remember of her has left me with the warmest, funniest and kindest memories. Her perpetual apron was worn over her garments like a smock that tied at the back, it had a large pocket at the front that she would fill with what I thought were presents. Out would come dried herbs and flowers in what seemed little sachets, baby tortoise shells, coins, seed pods, old pieces of jewellery, old rings, pendants and…

Current Moon Phase

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2019

Today the Moon will be in a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this phase the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you’re willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon’s surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.
