Your Weekly Karma Forecast: August 5 – 11, 2018

Weekly Forecast: August 5 – 11, 2018

The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.

*NOTE*  There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.

Weekly Forecast:  August 5 – 11, 2018

8/6 ~ Sun (core essential Self) ~square~ Jupiter (imagination & truth):

This is a powerful energy and with that comes the necessity of discernment – it provokes you to get lots of things accomplished and that’s a good thing, however, beware of taking on more than you can actually handle. Having said that now, if you need that little “push” to get some things done, this is just the energy for you. It carries with it the optimism necessary to allow you to go beyond your norm and stretch in new ways. Sometimes there can be a tendency toward self-righteousness with this energy, but try to make it “self-directed” and you will benefit greatly. Walk your talk, embody your Truth. However, if you turn it on others, demanding they believe what you believe, you may have some difficulties. Be open & receptive, have a don’t-know mind because you never know what you may learn along the way that could really help you, now or in the future.

8/7 ~ Uranus Rx 2* TAURUS (1.6.2019):

This is a once-in-84 year occurrence! And it still has to retrograde back ‘n forth over the last 2-degrees of Aries and first 2-degrees of Taurus in order to complete the ‘Crossing Borders’ that we are already feeling and the whole world will feel by Spring 2019. Uranus is a collective planet and so affects many people and takes 7-8 years to accomplish its mission in each sign. It will awaken the Taurus department of life (House) and stimulate any of your planets in Taurus/Scorpio or Leo/Aquarius (by default). Also, I’d say here & now is a good time to reflect on the ‘liberating ordeal’ you just went through over the last 8-years as it stimulated your Aries department. Once it is truly into Taurus, you can start to reap the benefits and integrate the recent, radical shifts that you’re Identity & Purpose have been through and the focus, and thus the lessons & blessings, will now shift to the values & priorities that support that newly awakened Emergent Self and how that works on the ground, in the body, on the Earth.

8/7 ~ Venus (feminine & receiving) ~trine~ Mars (masculine & giving):

Venus rules your values & priorities where relationships with love & money are concerned, your inner Divine Feminine that innately knows how to co-create with nature, what to cultivate and nurture to full development. Mars rules your desire nature and your inner Divine Masculine, which is responsible for maintaining your personal boundaries, getting your ideas into the world and negotiating on your own behalf. When you are channeling both through you in a balanced way, what you create and how you move through the world becomes a beautiful dance or interesting story. The trine is a blessing of ease & grace, an easy-going energy that paves the way for balance & reciprocity and encourages independence within the context of relationships. Communication is usually smooth at this time and exchanges can be mutually beneficial. Any relationships started under this influence have a good chance at success whether personal or professional.

8/8 ~ Mercury Rx (communication & self-expression) ~conjunct~ Sun (core essential Self):

This energy will compel you to express yourself on many levels. Communication will be a focus, just make sure it is reciprocated. You will have access to some powerful energy that can (and probably will) make quite an impression on others (if you need to). This is a good time to travel if possible too. However, if not physically, then mentally and certainly within your own area, you will take in more information per square inch than usual. Pay attention! You may even gain the much-deserved recognition from others that you have worked so hard for.

8/8 ~ LEO Gate of Power/Cross Qtr:

This is the Mid-Point of whatever you got going 6-months ago, in Feb 2018 at the Aquarius Gate. Do you remember “Crossing Borders” 6-months or 1-year ago? (many of you got those readings then and can refer back to them now for new insights). Think: 9-mo gestation process for year 2018, you have nurtured & developed something over the last 9-months that is about to need some space to exist. Aug/Sept is all about preserving what is growing strong, solid, useful & nourishing … while releasing density, weight & excess to be composted in to something more useful in the season to come. It’s a time of cleansing & purification, as well as gratitude & celebration, in anticipation of the Fall Equinox season of Harvest. Some call this the Pre-Harvest. You can get a jump-start on assessing the year if you’ve completed your “clearing & releasing” process. If not, this is the final *purge* in preparation for the Harvest Season. The final Leo/Aquarius Eclipses will help! The Eclipses are considered “course correctors” ~ whether you’re a little (or a lot) off ‘course’ ~ and they are “intensified” solar & lunar energies pouring around and through you (no matter your level of consciousness). Things will be particularly intense now for all of us, but especially those of you with Leo/Aquarius/Taurus/Scorpio activated in your chart.

8/9 ~ Venus (values) ~square~ Saturn (foundation):

This energy can make you feel cool & detached with loved ones. It is time to ‘take stock’ of your relationships and really evaluate the level of balance between giving & receiving. Business or personal – relationships must have a balance of give & take. You may feel more aware of your true independence in life and start reevaluating the need for certain relationships in your life. This energy pushes you to dig for your own fortitude & determination to live according to your own values & priorities and corrections or adjustments may be necessary and fairly obvious at this time. You may feel lonely, depressed or disconnected but it’s just the Universe forcing you to question or assess your current relationships, how you interact with others and how you allow them to interact with you. It’s good to periodically evaluate even the strongest relationship and check the foundation. Don’t give in to (ego-based) fears, focusing on the lack & limitation or what is not working, but instead build on your strengths and honor the goodness you’ve created together, as well as in your Self. This is the best time to be alone and reflective because the insights you acquire through this process will help you in the future.

8/11 ~ Mercury Rx (expression) ~square~ Jupiter (truth):   (2 of 3:  7/9 ~ 8/11 ~ 8/28)

This energy challenges you to integrate your smaller vision with the larger vision for your life. On one hand, you can see the big picture in new ways, but on the other hand, you may not be very interested in the details that bring it about. This is another good one for expanding your consciousness and thinking outside the box, but as the insights come into your conscious awareness, be mindful of the steps it will take to make your ideas a reality. This activation is also great for course-corrections where your ideas are concerned and will open you up to learning something new or bring in a crucial piece of information, just keep in mind that you will have to stabilize anything you start and probably have to review some details down the road because of something you overlooked in your enthusiasm for the new Truth revealed from within.

8/11 ~ LEO Super New Moon/Solar Eclipse:

We get eclipses twice a year, every year, so there is always energy for change, transformation & radical shifts. What changes approximately every 2-years is the sign energy, and thus, the lessons & blessings. We spend a couple of years mastering those lessons, like now 2017-18 in Leo/Aquarius and there are reverberations from the years 2008-09 and 1998-2000. Also, remember that it was one year ago we had the coast-to-coast eclipse cross the US, how has your life changed & evolved since the last round of eclipses blasted through your life?

If the Eclipses have altered your course (internal or external) and you have released any rigidness with the Aquarius Lunar Eclipse (7/27), then this Leo Solar Eclipse will help initiate the new in a clean, positive, and hopefully fun way! It may be time to *Lighten* UP!  Get creative, have some fun and dig in to anything that is weighing on you and find a NEW way to express it.  This is the annual New Moon of the New YOU and Eclipse says New You to the tune of 10-20 years! We are currently amidst Mercury Retro in LEO (7/25-8/18) which can enhance or extend this period of experimentation with the “new” on one or many levels. I think it will be good for tweaking creative projects but if your focus is on self-love, and how you define that for yourself, it may also allow you some customized (for you) opportunities to change your thinking in some way. The world is shifting at such a rapid pace that I feel it is more imperative than ever to know your own *Heart*. Many of us have lived our lives guided by “survival” rather than what is truly in our hearts. And we have discovered, either directly or from observing others, how this can backfire on you. Consider that anything you do, whether for yourself or the world, needs to be heart-centered and based in *love* (Leo’s domain) and that which endures, succeeds ultimately. When we do things with genuine enthusiasm ~ humble & pure ~ we can literally Inspire, Awaken & Uplift others and that creates a certain magnetism that creates an energetic flow. The purest form of leadership is to lead by example, so deepen your connection to your own Heart, share your Light (without attachment) just for the joy of sharing and that will encourage others to shine their Light. It’s contagious!

Alrighty, The Brief Pause Was Because the Electrical Man Showed up…..

The contractor showed up earlier than I expected. He even called the office to see where I was at. He was down there waiting on me. He looked at the problem and has left to get the parts he needs to fix everything. While he is gone, let’s skip to whatever one is really interested in the Horoscopes, Tarot and Runes for the day plus a few other goodies. I imagine he will be back shortly so we will try to get as far as we can.

We will continue with the Hints & Tips if not today, tomorrow, sorry about that guys. Now let’s get this show on the road again,

Lady A

Oh, and a funny thing, he wanted to know what his horoscope was for the day, lol!

The Cauldron Chant

We form the Circle,
The Circle most round.
We form the Chalice,
The Chalice now found.

We call the Goddess,
to meet the great need.
We call the God,
To plant His fertile seed.

We call the quarters,
which we call four.
We summon the powers,
that contain the force.

We stir the Cauldron,
from which we were born.
We call the Gods,
from whom we were torn.

We say the words,
which lead us round.
We pass the kiss,
with our lovers found.

We face our dreams,
in nights psychic flight.
We face our hopes,
in bright moon of the night.

We face our fears,
on the Dark Lords Horn.
We face our failure,
in the Mothers new planted corn.

We live our lives,
druming and dancing on the meadow.
We confront our Death,
in the dancing moon light shadow.

Our paths run quickly,
on fleet foot and wing.
Our Circle is joyous,
with our Queens and our Kings.

Let our little Circle be happy,
with Bell, Bowl or Bow.
And form now this Circle,
with gracious Love, Joy and Hope.

Blessed Be

Good Monday Morning To All of My Beautiful Brothers & Sisters of the Craft! A Word Before We Get Started

 good morning,
Oh, don’t worry it isn’t like the post I made yesterday. I probably shouldn’t even made the post but I was hot under the collar as you could tell. I think I need to clarify the meaning behind yesterday’s post. The reason I went into the donations, donors, the drop in sales at the store and the low participation in chat was because I wanted to know if anyone had heard the nasty rumor going around. It didn’t come out that way, I should know by now, never open my mouth when I am mad. I have a tendency to let my mouth over run my brain. But we have had a person follow us around for years and constantly try to start trouble. She came into this group several months ago. When I knew her back in the day, we were suppose to be like sisters. This makes it very easy for me to pick up on her presence. I knew the minute she showed up and I wondered what she would pull. She waits for something to happen then always finds a way to turn it around on me. The psychic vamp that was in the other site was the opportunity she was waiting for.

Personally, when someone approached me and said that they had heard there was a psychic vampire and wanted to know their name, I couldn’t remember the vamp’s name. The other person told they had heard it was someone with the name ladyoftheabyss. This is the room I use in the chatroom and I know this woman had been lurking in the chatroom. I don’t run my name together like that only in there. So immediately, I straightened the person out who told me this. I didn’t tell her the whole story but Eleanor was mad as an old wet hen last night and apparently she has told you the whole story. The woman telling me about ladyoftheabyss being labeled as a psychic vampire made me wonder if that might be what was wrong here and on our other site. My intentions was to ask if you had heard the rumor. You see where my intentions went. I don’t generally fly off like that but that just hit home. I know you all know me well enough to know I am no psychic vampire. I also mentioned I didn’t need anyone to vouch for me but….for those of you who did, thank you, you are indeed true friends and I love you for it.

Now for what this post is about, the other witches around here performed a ritual to take care of this woman who has stalked me for all these years. They were outside the cabin when they did so. It was about two or three this morning the boys woke me up and wanted to know what was going on. We heard chanting and boy, could you hear Eleanor. I don’t know what kind of spell they did but I do know they built up enough power, they took out all the electricity at the cabin and the a/c with it. The boys and I have been up all night sweating our rumps off thanks to that spell. I contacted the man who fixed all of the electrical and a/c in the cabin. I got luckily, he is suppose to be here sometime this morning. We are going to start our posts as usual and when he shows up we are going to stop. If he is not at the cabin for too long, then we will continue our posts. I just wanted to let you know that if we take a long break what is going on. I appreciate what the other witches did for me but I told them the next time they get that angry to go further in the woods and do the spell there. I am just the opposite when I get mad, I can turn everything electrical on, they have to take everything electrical out. Plus the heat index is suppose to be in the 100’s today, of all nights for them to decide to do the spell. But they meant well and what the heck, I guess a little sweat never hurt anyone.

Just wanted to up-date you on what is going on, when we do leave the internet for a bit. Oh, and I did write a step by step guide to shopping on the store. I double checked it and Wix’s double checked it and neither of us could find a thing wrong with it. So I made the guide to shopping on the store. The only problem, I can’t remember where on earth I save it too. I will find it eventually and post it. I apologize for my post getting taken the wrong way. I was just curious if you had heard the rumor that is all.

Now, let’s get this party started before the electrical man shows up.

Love ya,

Lady of the Abyss

Central Lunar Eclipse
Image Credit & Copyright: Anthony Ayiomamitis (TWAN)

Explanation: Reddened by scattered sunlight, the Moon in the center is passing through the center of Earth’s dark umbral shadow in this July 27 lunar eclipse sequence. Left to right the three images are from the start, maximum, and end to 103 minutes of totality from the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century. The longest path the Moon can follow through Earth’s shadow does cross the shadow’s center, that’s what makes such central lunar eclipses long ones. But July 27 was also the date of lunar apogee, and at the most distant part of its elliptical orbit the Moon moves slowest. For the previous lunar eclipse, last January 31, the Moon was near its orbital perigee. Passing just south of the Earth shadow central axis, totality lasted only 76 minutes. Coming up on January 21, 2019, a third consecutive total lunar eclipse will also be off center and find the Moon near perigee. Then totality will be a mere 62 minutes long.

Earth Sky News for August 3: August guide to the bright planets

August guide to the bright planets

In August 2018, 4 planets arc across the evening sky. From west to east as night falls, these bright worlds are Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Late August features Mercury before sunrise

Click the name of a planet to learn more about its visibility in July 2018: VenusJupiterSaturnMars and Mercury

Venus is the brightest planet, and – as seen from around the world – it’s dazzling this month in the west after sunset, impossible to miss as the evening “star.”

At mid-northern latitudes, Venus sets roughly 2 hours after the sun in early August. By the month’s end, that’ll taper to about 1 1/2 hours after sunset. What’s interesting is that – as seen from mid-northern latitudes – Venus reached its highest altitude after sunset in June, 2018. And yet Venus’ greatest elongation (greatest apparent distance from the setting sun) happens this month, on August 17. Why? It’s because of the angle of the ecliptic, which marks the path of the sun, moon and planets across our sky. From our northerly latitudes, the ecliptic is beginning to slant downward after sunset now, keeping Venus low in the sky.

The Southern Hemisphere has the advantage in seeing Venus right now. From there, the ecliptic is beginning to slant upward, placing Venus above the sunset (rather than to one side of it as for us northerners). Venus does indeed climb highest up in the evening sky in August as viewed from the Southern Hemisphere, just as you would expect during a greatest elongation. At temperate latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere (South Africa, southern Australia), Venus sets about 3 1/2 hours after sunset throughout the month.

Circle August 14, 15 and 16 on your calendar. That’s when the young moon will be sweeping past Venus (and Jupiter) in the evening sky. The western twilight will make the pairing all the more picturesque. See chart above.

Look for Venus to adorn the western evening sky until October 2018.

Jupiter remains bright and beautiful throughout August 2018. Its opposition took place on May 8-9, 2018, so the planet is now slowly shifting westward at each night’s sunset. In the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll find Jupiter highest up for the night around dusk or nightfall, appearing a bit west (right) of due south. In the Southern Hemisphere, you’ll see Jupiter nearly overhead at dusk.

Jupiter is brighter than any star, but it’s not brighter than Venus, which beams mightily in the west after sunset. And it’s not brighter than Mars.

Jupiter shines in front of the constellation Libra the Scales until November 2018. Look for Libra’s brightest stars near Jupiter, Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali (both star names are pronounced with the same rhythm as Obi-Wan Kenobi of “Star Wars”).

If you aim binoculars at Zubenelgenubi, you’ll see this star as two stars. Zubeneschamali, meanwhile, is said to appear green in color, although, astronomers say, stars can’t look green.

Saturn and Mars adorn the eastern half of the sky at dusk and nightfall. During the first few weeks of August, Saturn transits – reaches its high point for the night – at about the same time that Venus sets (roughly 9 p.m. local time or 10 p.m. local daylight saving time). Then Mars transits some two hours after Saturn does.

Near the month’s end, Saturn will transit at roughly 8 p.m. local time (9 p.m. local daylight saving time), and throughout the month, Mars will transit about two hours after Saturn does.

Click here for a recommended sky almanac providing you with the transit times for the planets.

Middle to late evening offers a better view of Saturn and Mars, as these worlds are seen higher up in the sky than they are at nightfall.

You can tell Mars from Saturn because Mars has a reddish color and Saturn looks golden. Binoculars show their colors better than the eye alone.

Watch for the moon to pair up with Saturn on or near August 20 and with Mars on or near August 23.

At present, both Saturn and Mars shine more brilliantly than a 1st-magnitude star. However, Mars is brighter than Saturn. Saturn’s brilliance peaked at its June 27 opposition, and Mars’ brilliance came to a head at its July 27 opposition.

It’s not often that Mars outshines Jupiter, normally the fourth-brightest celestial object to light up the sky, after the sun, moon and Venus. But, for a couple of months in 2018, Mars will outshine Jupiter from about July 7 to September 7, 2018.

Both Mars and Saturn are slowly dimming throughout the month. Because Mars is dimming at a faster rate than Saturn is, Mars will be about 15 times brighter than Saturn at the beginning of the month, and some 10 times brighter by the month’s end.

Remember Mars’ historically close opposition of August 28, 2003? That year, it was closer and brighter than it had been in some 60,000 years. The July opposition was the best since 2003, and what’s more, Mars will remain bright and beautiful all through August 2018!

Mercury, the innermost planet of the solar system, moves out of the evening sky and into the morning sky on August 9, 2018. Mercury probably won’t first become visible in the morning sky until August 20th or so. The last week of August and the first several days of September will provide a good view of Mercury for the Northern Hemisphere and the southern tropics. Mercury will be harder to spot from temperate latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere.

During the last week of August at mid-northern latitudes, Mercury will rise about 1 1/2 hours before sunrise. At temperate latitudes in the Southern Hemisphere, on the other hand, Mercury only rises an hour or less before the sun. Click here for a recommended almanac telling you when the sun and Mercury rise into your sky.

Mercury will reach its greatest elongation from the sun on August 26, 2018, and its reign as the morning “star” will extend until September 21, 2018 (same date that Venus reaches its greatest illuminated extent in the evening sky).

What do we mean by bright planet? By bright planet, we mean any solar system planet that is easily visible without an optical aid and that has been watched by our ancestors since time immemorial. In their outward order from the sun, the five bright planets are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. These planets actually do appear bright in our sky. They are typically as bright as – or brighter than – the brightest stars. Plus, these relatively nearby worlds tend to shine with a steadier light than the distant, twinkling stars. You can spot them, and come to know them as faithful friends, if you try.

Bottom line: In August 2018, four planets arc across the sky at dusk and nightfall. Venus lights up the western sky, with Jupiter shining above Venus, whereas Mars lords over the southeast sky, with Saturn shining above Mars. Mercury becomes a morning “star” by the last week of August. Click here for recommended almanacs; they can help you know when the planets rise, transit and set in your sky.

Do You Know Your Totem Animal in Shamanic Astrology

Your totem in shamanic astrology

Shamanic or Native American astrology uses symbols drawn from the mother earth, it is made up of 12 totem animals. The totem is calculated by the month of birth, the year does not matter.
The animal totem also depends on the wind that brings breath, movement and energy. The wind gives an orientation.
The east wind is connected to Wolf, Falcon and Beaver.
The south wind is linked to Deer, Greenpine and Salmon.
The westerly wind is related to the Brown Bear, the Crow and the Snake.
The north wind accompanies the Owl, Snow Goose and Otter.

As in Western astrology, shamanic astrology uses the four elements: fire, earth, air and water. The signs of the same element are grouped in “clans” with evocative names:

The butterfly clan, linked to the air element, includes the Deer, the Crow and the Otter.
Air symbolizes the force of ideas, intelligence, movement and exchange.
The hawk clan, linked to the fire element, includes Falcon, Salmon and Owl.
Fire evokes spontaneity, creativity, strength of character.
The frog clan, related to the water element, includes the Green Woodpecker, the Snake and the Wolf.
Water symbolizes emotion, love, confidence, hospitality and fertility.
The turtle clan, linked to the earth element, includes Beaver, Brown Bear, and Snow Goose.
The Earth is a symbol of order, stability and support.

The 12 signs of Amerindian astrology

The Falcon (from March 21st to April 19th)

The Falcon is full of energy, they are moving forward without fear. Their mind is lively and their optimism can take them far, into the higher realms. Dynamic, sociable, spontaneous, they naturally attract sympathy but they can be selfish and privilege their career at the expense of their family. They are a scorched person, they only do what they want but they are a good leader, able to make firm decisions. The Falcon does not like limits being imposed, for it is they who leads the dance.
The Falcon stone is opal, its color is yellow or green.

The Beaver (April 20th to May 20th)

The Beaver is a volunteer, they are a worker who enjoys a stable, smooth life. Their generous nature makes them a trusted person, appreciated by all. But they can be jealous or possessive, they cling to what they have, they are afraid of losing assets. Their lack of openness and tolerance may make them unfriendly to some, especially those who do not fit into the mold. The Beaver is a conservative homebody: out of their habits and their daily life they can feel a little lost.
The Beaver stone is jasper, its color is yellow.

The Deer (May 21st to June 20th)

The Deer seeks to communicate with those around them. They are able to seduce anyone with beautiful speeches, they are a charmer. Their intelligence, vivacity and eloquence help them climb the ladder. They adapt easily to life in society. They are a seducer who can be superficial, lazy or nervous. But we can count on them, the Deer appreciates everyone, without a priori. They are a communicative being and loving by nature.
The stag’s stone is agate, its color is orange.

The Green Woodpecker (June 21st to July 21st)

The green woodpecker is emotional, their imagination takes them to hitherto unexplored regions. They are a poet, a tender and generous artist who is involved in romantic relationships. This great dreamer is a troubadour who is waiting for their beauty, they fly from town to town until they can build a welcoming home. But if they are betrayed, the green woodpecker never forgets, they are resentful and their extreme sensitivity makes them suffer. They tend to focus too much on people and events. Letting go is difficult for them.
The green woodpecker’s stone is pink quartz, its color is fuchsia.

The Salmon (July 22nd to August 22nd)

Salmon is a born optimist. They are an enthusiastic sign that faces life with ardour and enthusiasm. Nothing stops them, they know what they want and they go for it. Ready to face the contrary currents, they are never lost. Their loving heart makes them likeable but they can be authoritarian or hypocritical, they are able to pretend to succeed. Salmon knows that appearances are numerous, that we must adapt. They do not hesitate to use their talents to succeed but they transmit their energy to others.
Salmon’s stone is carnelian, its color is red.

The Brown Bear (August 23 to September 22)

The Brown Bear is hardworking, serious and orderly. They take on their responsibilities and perform their missions to the best of their ability. They have an excellent sense of organization, they are never late and they are effective without wasting time.
