Your Daily Cosmic Calendar for Monday, August 13

Daily Cosmic Calendar

Stop worrying about things you cannot control. The moon makes its monthly rendezvous with Ceres in Virgo (4:25am) — encouraging productivity in your main fields of expertise. This nurturing-comforting alignment is also a reminder to be extra sensitive to elders and children in your family circle. Work on improving your curve ball, hook shot, soccer kick, volleyball serve, tennis backhand or golf swing as the moon trines Mars (9:38pm). Be aware that a short void lunar condition begins at this time and lasts 20 minutes until Libra grabs the lunar baton (9:58pm) for a 2-day dash through the amiable, relationship-oriented seventh sign of the zodiac.

[Note to readers: All times are now calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Celebrating Legends, Folklore & Spirituality 365 Days A Year for August 13, 14 and 15th

Lady of the Dragons...

August 13, 14 and 15

Festival of Diana

This was a great day of celebration for Diana, the Roman Goddess of wild nature. She was invoked to avert storms that could possibly ruin the crops or hinder the harvest. Her festival took place at her temple, said to have been founded by King Servius Tullius, whose mother had reputedly been a slave. After its establishment, the temple became an asylum for runaway slaves, and this day a holiday for all slaves of both sexes.

Diana, who was originally identified with the Greek Artemis, was regarded as a Goddess of hunting and of the Moon. She was considered to be a protector of women, particularly in childbirth. One of her sanctuaries was Lake Nemi, where her priest was an escaped slave who had to kill his predecessor in single combat to take office and then guard his station against all would-be successors.

Under Christianity, Diana became the Goddess of the Witches, whom the 10th-century Cannon Espiscopi condemned for believing that they could ride with the Goddess at night. Associated with the constellation Ursa Major, Diana’s legend is still alive in Tuscany, where she is held as the original supreme Goddess and mother of Lucifer of Aradia. Diana’s day is Monday; her colors are silver, white and crystal; gems include clear quartz, moonstone, and pearl. Her magickal weapons are the bow and arrow, and all dogs are sacred to her.

The Witches Magick for August 13: Dream Protection Spell

Dragon Sorceress - Anne Stokes

Dream Protection Spell

You Need:
1 tablespoon of lemon juice (or another fruit juice)
1 tablespoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of vegetable oil
1 light weight cauldron (a glass bowl works too)
1 piece of paper
1 black pen
2 black or red candles (1 of each works best)

Mix the lemon juice, sea salt, and oil into your cauldron. Place the cauldron in front of you on the floor. Sit comfortably and place the candles beside the cauldron (red on left, black on right.) Rip the piece of paper in half then set it aside.

Light both candles, left one first. Now close your eyes and visualize a sphere. In the middle of the sphere, visualize yourself stuck inside, trying to get out. See the black and red candles burning around you. Watch as the candles spin around you, getting faster each time they pass. Then see yourself magickally being released.

On one piece of paper, draw a picture of what you saw. On the other, write down your biggest fear. Light both pieces of paper on fire, using the black for the written half, red for the drawing. Then throw them into your cauldron. Take the cauldron outside and pour it (paper and all) into a hole in the ground. Cover the hole with dirt.

The spell is done.
