May be a tiny bell with a delicate chime, or a larger bell used during ritual and to call upon the Fairie Folk (If delicate in tome): may be of brass, ceramic, crustal, silver, etc.
A ritual knife used to direct magickal energy, this is usually a back-handled, two-edged knife, measuring the blade is sharp on both sides, but it may be dull rather than sharp as this is not a cutting tool. This knife may be of wood, stone, horn, metal, or jet, and could be a regular knife if visualized as the ritual tool (as with Kitchen Witch tools being taken from those used in daily work around the house). An athame may be a letter opener, pocketknife, etc., as long as it is seen as a ritual tool. The handle color may also vary, but black is traditional.
The rune today is Dagaz pronounced “thaw-gauze” (D: Day or dawn) Breakthrough, awakening, awareness. Daylight clarity as opposed to nighttime uncertainty. A time to plan or embark upon an enterprise. The power of change directed by your own will, transformation. Hope/happiness, the ideal. Security and certainty. Growth and release. Balance point, the place where opposites meet.
Clouds are dispersing and the Sun shines brightly. Light and clarity. Leave your darkness behind. Changes shown by this rune are so significant, they can absolutely change your life. Something important has happened which may not be obvious to you yet. This rune signifies that growth and improvement are already happening and the only thing needed now is a positive attitude to everything happening around you. Recognize the favorable moment and catch it, and don’t miss it because you are blinded and can only see obstacles and annoyances. The day has already come and if you’re still asleep, by just opening your eyes you can be free of the bad dreams of the past.
Dagaz Merkstave (Dagaz cannot be reversed, but may lie in opposition): A completion, ending, limit, coming full circle. Blindness, hopelessness.
As with all, take what resonates with you and discard the rest.

Today’s Tarot Card for Everyone:
The Magician

This Tarot Deck: Cat People
General Meaning: Traditionally, the Magus is one who can demonstrate hands-on magic — as in healing, transformative rituals, alchemical transmutations, charging of talismans and the like. A modern Magus is any person who completes the circuit between heaven and Earth, one who seeks to bring forth the divine ‘gold’ within her or himself.
At the birth of Tarot, even a gifted healer who was not an ordained clergyman was considered to be in league with the Devil! For obvious reasons, the line between fooling the eye with sleight of hand, and charging the world with magical will was not clearly differentiated in the early Tarot cards.
Waite’s image of the Magus as the solitary ritualist communing with the spirits of the elements — with its formal arrangement of symbols and postures — is a token of the freedom we have in modern times to declare our spiritual politics without fear of reprisal. The older cards were never so explicit about what the Magus was doing. It’s best to keep your imagination open with this card. Visualize yourself manifesting something unique, guided by evolutionary forces that emerge spontaneously from within your soul
We filter reality through a realistic lens now as the exacting Virgo Moon separates useful information from extraneous noise. The Moon’s smooth trine to logical
Mercury sharpens our perceptions even more. But the Moon squares easygoing Venus later in the day, making us feel lazy. Meanwhile, slow-moving Jupiter enters pioneering Aries to reveal new options on the road of life, even if they don’t meet the high standards required by the Virgo Moon.
You are eager to do an excellent job today and your willingness to put in the extra effort makes others appreciate you even more. You’re motivated on your own, but it doesn’t hurt that you’re being noticed. Don’t let your confidence go to your head now; optimistic Jupiter’s shift into your sign is a harbinger of good times ahead as long as you don’t expect more than you deserve.
Someone may be working behind the scenes to force you to switch your current direction. However, you are inclined to push back if you feel coerced. Your stubbornness could get in the way of learning what you need to know, especially if you try to shut others up before they are able to deliver an important message. Remain open to the truth, even if it isn’t exactly what you want to hear now.
You might believe that you’re a black belt in mental gymnastics, but every clever idea you toss into a conversation is shunted aside today. You may begin to feel ineffectual because your thoughts don’t seem to be able to gain traction. It isn’t fun if you can’t combine several trains of thought into a single coherent knockout punch. Don’t let frustration define your day; instead, recognize that you’re currently just a bit off in your delivery. Thankfully, this won’t last; your wit and charm will return soon enough.
It’s a smart idea to say what you mean and mean what you say, or a miscommunication can turn an innocuous comment into a major conflict. Open disagreement isn’t useful today, for you are already aware of the differences of opinion. There may not be an immediate resolution now because arguments won’t likely be about the right issue. Think about the consequences of your words before you say anything at all.
You may be facing a cash shortage today, yet your apparent lack of funds could be tied to a larger issue of self-esteem. If you don’t believe that you’re deserving of something special now, you are probably being much harder on yourself than you should. Be aware of any lingering negativity and put off a purchase decision until tomorrow when your approach will be more balanced.
You are moody now that the Moon is back in your sign. It’s as if you’re riding on a seesaw today; one minute you’re quite confident and the next you’re feeling uncertain. Instead of acknowledging the upside of things, you might get swept in a downward spiral of self-judgment. Fortunately, you have the power to change your direction and to lift yourself back up to the top of your game. Make an empowering decision and stick to it, no matter what happens along the way.
You may be suffering from a creative block today, as if someone pulled the plug on your imagination circuit and you cannot make it work. Unfortunately, you might not be able to latch on to a dream to lift yourself out of the malaise. Fortunately, someone special may come along and inspire you, catalyzing positive change. Your negativity could dissipate quickly if you are open enough to accept help when it’s offered.
You might not want to participate in a group event with friends or family today, even if you love the individuals who are involved. Maybe it’s just too complicated balancing everyone’s different approaches to the day. You don’t want to spend your time discussing the ground rules for some kind of social activity. Give yourself permission to retreat without having to justify your actions to everyone else.
You may try to place limits on yourself today so you can set a good example for others. But keeping everyone else in line is difficult when you’re feeling antsy yourself. Expansive Jupiter’s entry into your 5th House of Play can open your eyes to new avenues of fun. Fortunately, you should be able to balance your current responsibilities with the incoming waves of restlessness if you keep track of your priorities.
You may be fantasizing about a great escape to somewhere exotic now that the Moon is visiting your 9th House of Travel. But it’s hard to stay focused on planning a dream vacation, especially if it seems like an unrealistic flight of fancy. You could choose to give up and think about a homebound staycation instead. There’s no need to rush; give yourself a few more days before making a final decision.
You may have offered your opinion too quickly about something that’s very important, and now you’re unable to take back your words. A disagreement with your partner today can turn a sweet relationship into a combative one. Good intentions aren’t enough; you also must be very realistic or everything can quickly grow out of control. Take full responsibility for your role in the current situation to get things moving in the right direction once again.
The Moon in your 7th House of Partners can help to stabilize a relationship today, as long as you’re willing to narrow your focus. Although you may be thinking about how to improve your financial situation, it’s more important now to concentrate on creating common ground with someone else, rather than going off on your own. Things won’t change as quickly as you wish, so reduce the pressure by being less aggressive in your approach and allowing some time to pass before taking further action.

Jupiter in Aries
Saturday, January 22, 9:10 am PST, 12:10 pm EST
Expansive Jupiter comes down from the clouds of Pisces to put ideas into action in its return to dynamic Aries. We had a taste of this transit with the giant planet’s visit to the rambunctious Ram last June through early September. We learn more by taking chances and exploring fresh territory than sitting in ivory towers talking about this world as if it was some faraway place. Jupiter races through Aries and is leaving this sign in early June so the time to strike out in new directions and launch major projects is now.

Hey there all you Bloggers and Witchy Friends! I hope everyone is having a great and magickal weekend. Believe it or not, I got up at 5 a.m., this morning. I watched a little bit of a movie and fell back to sleep. This movie I have been trying to watch for at least 2 months. You heard right, 2 months! Pitiful! The movie 2012. I bought it, brought it home and I thought my husband would want to watch it. I ought to know never think when it comes to him. Anyway, I think some of you might know and others don’t, so I will give you a little background……….Time Warp, Background Ahead………….I have had two back surgeries. The first one was performed by Dr. Frankenstein and the second by a miracle worker. Frankenstein took out my three discs but didn’t put anything back in their place. So I had bone rubbing on bone. I put up with that for several years. About four years ago, I got fed up and went to a Doctor that all the Doctors around here use to operate on their backs. I was lucky to get in and also my niece was married to a Doctor at the time, which didn’t hurt at all. Anyway, the Doctor, my hubby and me sit down and had a talk about the procedure and how long I would be laid up. The only concern the Doctor had was that he was going to be doing a three-level fusion. He said three-levels never took. I told him I didn’t care and was willing to take the chance. So he scheduled the surgery. At the time, dumbass me, thought they were only going to do one side. I was WRONG! The left side had no discs to remove, the right side did. So the Doctor took out that side of discs and fused my lower part of my back. I have metal screws that look like their about two inches long (I kid you not), metal cages, and titanium rods. My hubby calls me the Bionic Woman. I was going to a neurologist before the surgery. So after the surgery he adjusted my drugs accordingly. Instead of lessening them, he increased them. Nobody told me it would probably take two years before my back fully healed or that I can have severe muscle spasms. My neurologist was the one that told me and he is the one that foresaw all that coming. He has been super. Between the surgeon and my neurologist, if you didn’t know my story, you could never tell there was anything wrong with me. But I am on very strong drugs and the neurologist told me I would be on them the rest of my life. So when 8 p.m., rolls around I am generally sacked out in the floor. So back to the movie……..My hubby pretended he wanted to watch it. Put it in the DVD player and waited till I fell asleep and then got up, took the DVD out and when and played on his computer. So I have been bringing up watching it, with no reaction from him. Last night, we watched a movie that he wanted to watch. Then when it was through, I told him I wanted to see “2012.” He tracked it down and started it for me. We have new equipment and I don’t know how to work it yet. I can take them out but can’t put them in. So it took me about 12 good hours and I got that damn movie watched!!! Don’t ask me if the movie was worth all the trouble. I will take the Fifth on that one. But my husband came through and told me, “You might get that movie watched by the time next year gets here!” I hope all of you have better luck watching movies than me.
