SPELL AGAINST SLANDER AND GOSSIP
Write the name and full birthdate of your gossiping enemy on a piece of slippery elm bark.
Wrap it in a piece of black cloth and say:
(Name of person) be now silent!
Let your bitter tongue be broken!
(Name of person) be now silent!
Let no evil words be spoken!
SO MOTE IT BE!
Bury the cloth-covered bark in a forest or graveyard at night by the light of a pale
waning moon as you visualize that person unable to speak whenever he or she
attempts to spread malicious gossip about you.

what if I don’t have access to either can I use parchment????

I don’t know if you have thought of this or not. When I was very young, I needed a certain kind of paper for a small spell. I didn’t have that color. I went crying to one of my Elders. She told me not to cry, I had crayons. I went back and colored the paper the appropriate color and the spell worked fine. This is just an idea for you. It works good. If parchment is all you have to use, then use it. We make do with what we have. Stop to think about it, it is your intentions that you are going to put into the spell. Your intentions will make up for the color difference.

If you can not find the slippery elm bark, is there a substitute?

Substitute marshmallow root, which has similar soothing properties to slippery elm and is a cultivated herb.
