Wishing You A Very Prosperous & Blessed New Year! And A Very Magickal & Mystical Samhain This Year!

Samhain Comments & Graphics

THE DRUMS OF SAMHAIN

The drums of Samhain keeping time.

The gates of magic open wide.

A cauldron’s blessings overflow.

The candle flames are dying low.

The witches dance the circle ’round

to chant and bring the power down.

Hecate will hear our call

to turn the summer into fall.

The magic veil is growing thin.

The Netherworld is near our own.

We’ll see the sacred fire fed

while witches commune with the dead.

The winds of Autumn call our names.

The driving rhythm slowly calms.

The glowing embers we will tend

until the drums of Samhain end.

Your Rune for Today

Ehwaz

Ehwaz represents movement. You may be closing in on reaching your current goals. Your life may be changing for the better. Harmony with others should come easy for you at this time.

Additional information about Today’s Rune, Ehwaz…..

ehwaz : horse

Phonetic equivalent: e (as in ‘egg’)

DIVINATORY MEANINGS:
transportation, motion, assistance, energy, power, communication, will, recklessness
MAGICAL USES:
power, aiding in communication, transportation; to ‘send’ a spell
ASSOCIATED MYTHS & DEITIES:
Sleipnir, Freya’s feathered cloak
ANALYSIS:
The horse has been a powerful symbol in nearly every culture and every age. They were often believed to draw the sun about the heavens. Strong, swift and loyal, their relationship with humankind is unique. They allow us to perform tasks that would normally be beyond our strength, and to travel distances that would normally be beyond our reach. The mare symbolizes fertility and fecundity, and the stallion is the epitome of virility and raw energy. It is an animal that never lost its power by being domesticated.Like the sun which is its counterpart, ehwaz represents energy and motion. In this case, however, there is also respect for the source of the power to be considered. This is not merely an impersonal energy source – it is a living, breathing thing whose needs and desires must be taken into consideration, rather than be simply used as a slave. This is the power that was given by the God at algiz, and this rune reminds us of our oath to only use it to help, never to harm. Like the two-edged sword, the horse is a powerful tool, but must be carefully controlled to avoid harming yourself or other. It is tempting to just go barrelling along recklessly, but to do so is to risk loosing that power forever. This is the balance that must be achieved on the path of pure magic.

Energy Report for June 2015

Energy Report for June 2015

May was an interestingly intense month with lots of clearing, releasing, planning and preparation. June started with a Full Moon on the 2nd which brought in some pretty unpredictable energy. Full Moon’s always amplify energies, both positive and negative and its this energy that is supporting us in a powerful way throughout the month.

We are being energetically and physically realigned with the Earth’s shifting consciousness, which is deepening our connection to both our hearts and our souls. As the energies move to uncover and unearth all that needs to be rebalanced and realigned, we can expect to be faced with challenges and situations that require a different approach and a different perspective.

The energy of June will bring to the fore some aspects of your life and relationships that are keys to your forward progress. During this month gifts of truth and wisdom will be uncovered as imbalances are highlighted. For some the insights are opportunities to review, revise and refocus on what is most important. For others it is an opportunity to clear the debris of past emotional pain and really connect with the heart.

When you connect with the energy of your heart and work with its power, old emotional trauma and pain can come up to be healed and released. This revisiting of old pain and trauma can cause you to shut down the heart in fear of being overwhelmed by emotion. But in these times of heart centred energy, you are being supported and guided through the pain. By moving into it and allowing it to flow you are able to release it quickly. Once released you are able to enter into a scared space of healing filled with Divine bliss, peace and love.

June is a powerful time when the energies of the summer / winter solstice gather. The solstice marks another high point in our energetic cycles. As the seasons change so too does our inner landscape. Use this time to become reacquainted with the power of your inner resources. This will enable you to rebalance your inner and outer realities and refocus your energy. Take some time to be alone and to nurture your heart and soul. Create your own sanctuary where the chaos of the external world cannot intrude. In this space allow yourself to discover the new vibration awakening within, a new vibration that is summoning you forward on your journey.

Your life is a journey along a winding road that stretches before you. The road isn’t always easy and require strength and stamina to travel. Yet it does offer you many beautiful views and rewards along the way. This journey is one of discovery, a discovery of who you are and why you exist. This is the power of your path. It is a unique journey where you are shown the power of your physical and spiritual choices. Each moment, each step gives you the opportunity to review, revise and recreate yourself and to choose a new direction.

The energy of this month will lend you the courage and stamina your require to realign your energies and focus with your heart and thus your destiny. You are here to awaken the truth of who you are through the power of your heart and soul. As you walk your path you experience many valuable lessons. Your ability to perceive the lesson lies at the heart of each experience. Its important with each experience to acknowledge the lesson and to move on. This month pause and allow yourself to reflect on your journey and the many lessons you have learnt thus far. Take stock of where you have been, where your choices have taken you and where you want to go. What are you creating right now? Are you moving in a direction you want to go? Are you travelling a path of heart consciousness?

It is, as always, important to focus your awareness and attention in the present moment, to remain centred within the core of your being so that you may fully experience what is occurring now. Reviewing your past and your journey thus far is not about reliving the experience, but rather a process of understanding how you have gotten to this point and what choices and decisions you need to make to move forward in balance. Powerful and unexpected situations and experiences are emerging and you are being called to look carefully and deeply into the purpose of your journey. Progress will occur as you free yourself to follow the path of your heart. Allow the Divine to be your guide and you will find a new song of joy in your heart, and a gratitude for the many wonders of your life.

The Daily Motivator for May 15th – Stay on the path

Stay on the path

If you want your actions to have power, repeat them often. Your solidly-established habits have much more influence than your occasional whims.

There are limits to what you can do in a single instant. Yet when you focus your actions over many days, months or years, you can achieve truly amazing things.

It’s great to have useful skills, valuable resources, and powerful friends. Yet without persistence, even the best advantages won’t get you anywhere.

With persistent actions, however, you can start from where you are and get yourself to wherever you wish to be. When you put real, focused effort into your dreams, again and again, those dreams cannot help but become real.

Which path you choose is important. What’s just as important is choosing to stay on that path, every moment, every day, until the destination is reached.

Give your life the power of persistence. And delight in the immense satisfaction of steadily working your way to your own unique fulfillment.

Empowering Your Altar

Empowering Your Altar

You can further empower your special place as a reflection of the positive aspects of your changing life by placing on it other small items that carry happy memories for you. These might include stones or shells found on an enjoyable outing, presents from friends or family, a letter or even a printed email written in love, pictures or photographs of places and people that are endowed with emotional significance. Holding these can restore the pleasure of the moment and fill you with confidence, so they are magical objects because they are endowed with the power of good feeling.

Some practitioners keep a book, for example a book of poetry, a copy of the psalms, the works of Shakespeare or the I Ching. Whenever you lack inspiration, close your eyes and open your book – the page will be chosen apparently at random but in fact your deep unconscious mind has chosen the most appropriate answer by a process akin to psychokinesis.

Occasionally, gently energies these personal artifacts by burning a candle scented with chamomile or lavender. The domestic altars of many lands were originally the family hearth and an unused hearth will serve well as an altar. They depended for their power on herbs and flowers gathered from the wayside in the days before petrol fumes. Many witches who have a hearth do still keep it well swept and fresh with flowers or seasonal greenery.

Between your altar candles you may like to place statues, a god and goddess figure from either your own spiritual background or from a culture that seems significant to you; this will balance the yang, or male, energies with the yin, or female. The god figure may be represented by a horn, and the goddess by a large conch shell.

There are a great variety of deity figures in museum shops as well as New Age shops and those selling goods from particular areas of the world. You may, however, feel more comfortable with a ceramic animal, bird or reptile for which you feel an affinity: a tiger for courage, an eagle for vision, a cat for mystery and independence, a snake for regeneration. This is what Native Americans call our personal totem or power creature. You may find some of these are, in some cultures, the symbols of divinities. There is, for example, Bast, the cat-headed Egyptian goddess who protected women – especially in pregnancy and childbirth – the home, pleasure and joy. Bast was originally a lion goddess who symbolized the fertilizing rays of the Sun.

Watch Your Words

Watch Your Words

Witches say that words have power, but what does that mean to our everyday lives? Since words are a way of putting our intentions out into the universe (which is why we speak our spells aloud), it is important to be sure your words are sending the message you want. Spent a day truly listening to yourself. Are you critical of yourself or others? Is your attitude positive or negative? Are your words kind or hurtful? If you’re not happy with what you hear, make an effort to watch what you say in the days that lie ahead. Because words really do have power, but you have power over your words.

The Law of the Power

Witchy Comments & Graphics

The Law of the Power

The Power shall not be used to bring harm, to injure or control others. But if
the need rises, the Power shall be used to protect your life or the lives of
others.

The Power is used only as need dictates.

The Power can be used for your own gain, as long as by doing so you harm none.

It is unwise to accept money for use of the Power, for it quickly controls its
taker. Be not as those of other religions.

Use not the Power for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of Wicca
and magick.

Ever remember that the Power is the sacred gift of the Goddess and God, and
should never be misused or abused.

And this is the law of the Power.
