JUN. 24: TEMPLAR HOLY DAY. In the Roman calendar this day was thought to be Summer Solstice. The Church renamed this pagan holiday to St. John the Baptist Day. Templars revered it highly. On Jun 24, 1314 a mysterious band of knights joined Robert the Bruce of Scotland on the battlefield making his victory at Bannockburn possible. These knights could only have been the a troop of disbanded and now in-hiding Templars who had fled to western Scotland. St. John’s day was used by Freemasons in 1717 to found the first public (non-Scottish) Order of Freemasonry in London. Masonic teachings are said to descend from the esoteric Christianity of Templarism. St. John the Baptizer was beheaded because he wouldn’t give in and sacrifice his principles. This is a Templar ideal, as is the constancy and regularity — order out of chaos — of the solstices and equinoxes. So for both reasons, Christian and “pagan,” we observe this day.

Spell for Today – The Penny Spell

You can tweak this spell to use it for many different things.

The Penny Spell

Items needed for this spell:

2 pennies

Your hands

Take two pennies in your hands and shake them, fairly hard. While doing this, say this chant three times:

“Penny, Penny, Penny.

 I’m shaking these pennies.

And all is fun. In a snap,

I need this done.

Sending this out in a run.

I will slap

These, two pennies, down, into one.”

After this chant, throw the pennies on-top of each other, on the ground. The hardness of the throw and the clanking of the pennies will send out the serious urgency of your spell.

A Laugh for Today

Wishing you a terrific Thursday!

Time to go make some more decaf coffee. Look for the spell on how to give decaf drinks a boost to energize you without the shakes caffeine can cause.

A Thought for Today

If we do a spell or ritual that messes with a person free will we are doing black/dark magick. Remember if you do this it will come back at you three times worse as stated in the Threefold Law also know as The Law of Three. This is against what the Wicce Rede says, “Do as ye will, less it harms none.”

Until we meet again dear sisters, brothers, and honored guests may you blessed be.
