Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, June 19

There are so many things to do today that you cannot keep up with your own agenda. The busy Gemini New Moon falls in your 3rd House of Information, tempting you to fill your mind with data instead of seeking the deeper meaning of your experiences. You may feel preoccupied by all the external noise, while wishing that you had a chance to delve into the pleasures that you know are waiting for you somewhere. Be patient; your time will come.

You are more concerned about money now with the Gemini New Moon activating your 2nd House of Resources. You might not be able to relax until your material world is more secure. It’s disconcerting if you’re consumed by the annoying realization that you’re not quite as financially comfortable as you wish. However, nothing is preventing you from reconsidering where you go next. You can always change your mind along the way.

If you feel tangled up in your thoughts now, remember that curiosity is a perfectly natural Gemini trait and you may need to play out every possibility in your mind. The clever Gemini New Moon might have you obsessing about details you cannot possibly know. It’s OK if you feel lost in your own mental maze; you’re perfectly safe and exactly where you need to be today.

Your dreams serve a very important purpose and you would quickly lose interest in your future without their inspiration. You often anticipate better times ahead, but now the Gemini New Moon in your 12th House of Endings may have your fantasies working in reverse. If you’re worried about what’s around the next corner, try not to push these concerns away. Embrace your thoughts as messages from within. But then, take it to the next level by giving yourself permission to work toward whatever you want.

If you are trying to hold on to the status quo at work, it’s useful to re-evaluate your long-term goals now that the New Moon occurs in your 11th House of Dreams and Wishes. Your current mental agility can help you get what you want, but you must also learn something about yourself or others will think that you’re just playing games. Don’t try to bluff your way through the situation; be open to the lessons at hand.

The interactive Gemini New Moon in your 10th House of Career indicates that you’re being encouraged by others to follow a particular professional path. However, you have additional goals that may not be addressed by your current choices. Fortunately, it’s not necessary to reveal your inner conflicts yet. Publicly expressing your deepest feelings today will only confuse your co-workers. Research your options before sharing what’s on your mind.

You may be highly motivated to let go of desires that have little chance of being fulfilled as the flighty Gemini New Moon stimulates your 9th House of Big Ideas. You have reached a point where you are ready to make changes in order to add excitement to your life and you have little patience for those who might stand in your way. Don’t sweat the small stuff today; concentrate on your long-term goals rather than the details of the day.

Be careful about complicating a delicate situation today as the noisy Gemini New Moon occupies your 8th House of Deep Sharing. Nevertheless, you are driven by an unquenchable desire to explain the unexplainable as you push toward getting what you want. Your belief that the outcome will be an all-or-nothing one can muddy the waters. The best way to avoid problems is to be honest and keep all communications clear of any possible misunderstandings.

You may struggle to find balance between taking care of your most basic needs and meeting everyone else’s expectations as the dualistic Gemini New Moon falls in your 7th House of Others. Your real dilemma stems from the illusion that you can have it both ways now. Although your diplomatic skills rise to the occasion, you must eventually make a choice because you cannot serve two masters. Instead of getting caught up in the moment and rushing your decision, allow time for your inner voice to make itself heard.

Someone may see you as selfish today, but you know that you must attend to your own needs before you can truly help those around you. You may feel a bit overwhelmed now with all that you have going on and you won’t be much good to anyone if you don’t put the details of your life in order. Thankfully, the information-rich Gemini New Moon lands in your 6th House of Daily Routine, enabling you to increase your everyday efficiency so you have the time and energy to be of service to others.

Today’s adaptable Gemini New Moon falls in your 5th House of Self-Expression, motivating you to share your enthusiasm. However, you may be too quick to change your story for each new audience. Don’t be overly concerned about impressing others with your song and dance; if you please yourself, everyone else will jump on your bandwagon. Being loved starts with learning to love yourself more.

You may be extra protective of your home and family now because subconsciously you know that everything cannot stay the same. Today’s fickle Gemini New Moon occupies your 4th House of Security, tempting you to fearfully hold on to your feelings. Ironically, your attachment to the past might destabilize the present. Instead of trying to maintain the status quo, consider what you can do to become an agent of change.

New Moon in Gemini
Tuesday, June 19, 8:02 am PDT, 11:02 am EDT
The New Moon in curious Gemini normally sparks fresh ideas and connections but scatters attention. Yet this one brings focus and maturity. It’s the second Sun-Moon conjunction in this sign in a less than a month, so we benefit from the experience of the earlier New Moon on May 20. Serious Saturn forms a constructive trine to this lunation, adding structure and responsibility. Feisty Mars also gets in the act with a square from earthy Virgo that challenges us to turn concepts into concrete reality. This aspect can tighten nerves with tension that provides the impetus to take immediate action.
The New Moon in Gemini spawns a million and one ideas, most of which blow away in the breeze. Yet this lunation presents uncommon opportunities for capturing the best ones and putting them into words. People juggling too many projects can benefit from letting some of those balls drop. Reducing intellectual clutter clears the way for our most valuable notions to turn into reality.

2012: End of the world … or a cosmic call to action?
The Astrology of 2012
Rick Levine on the topics of astrology, 2012
The end of the world is near! That’s the word on the street, anyway, and the media frenzy has officially begun, projecting fear that the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012 really is the end of days.
The good news is that the world will not really end in 2012, although you don’t need to be an astrologer to see how quickly things are changing. Civilization as we know it seems to be in a precarious situation, with growing political unrest and financial stresses warning us that we are repeating epic mistakes from our own cultural history. For example, we have just witnessed the sharpest economic downturn since the Great Depression. Differences in political ideologies and spiritual beliefs continue to fuel increasingly destructive wars. Environmental threats make our water and food supplies more and more scarce; meanwhile, we are powering our world with a diminishing reserve of oil and others resources. So it’s no surprise that so many people — experts and laymen alike — are predicting that the fabric of our entire society is dangerously at risk.
But if you look to the skies, you’ll see there’s nothing to fear on that notorious day in 2012.
Astrologers watch the cycles of the Sun, Moon and planets to understand the changing nature of time and to put these shifts into historical perspective. For example, we had a dose of culture-wide panic at the threshold of this century. The start of the year 2000 — or “Y2K” — was as an apocalyptic date; some predicted that it would be the beginning of the “end times.” But astrologers could see then that there were no planetary alignments significant enough to warrant this kind of fear.
2012 is different — there are significant astrological factors that indicate these are truly significant times. But let’s clear one thing up right away: there won’t be a cataclysmic event on December 21, 2012. It’s been claimed that on this first day of winter, the Sun will line up perfectly with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy and that this will confirm the ancient Mayan prophecies. In other words, many claim that the Sun’s change of position will mark the end of time. But there is a scientific problem with this reasoning: the Sun’s alignment to the galactic center on Winter Solstice moves at the rate of one degree every 72 years! Therefore, this cosmic event is so slow-moving that it lasts more than a decade.
As astrologers track the cycles of planets, they pay special attention to the lunation cycle, which is the monthly flow of New Moons and Full Moons. This is how they are able predict the impact these movements will have on the personal and emotional cycles of our daily lives. Meanwhile, astrologers also track the activities of the slower-moving outer planets (the ones with the longest orbits), which create their own rhythms and are more closely related to large historical cycles.
For example, Uranus symbolizes sudden changes that release explosive energy, which is why astrologers refer to it as “The Great Awakener.” Pluto symbolizes total metamorphosis. The deep transformation that’s associated with mysterious Pluto is dramatic and complete, like a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly, which is why the profound cultural shifts of the 1960s corresponded with a conjunction between surprising Uranus and passionate Pluto in 1965-1966.
In the summer of 2012, these two planetary harbingers of change will come into a hard 90-degree alignment — their first since the mid-1960s. This dynamic angle between lightning-like Uranus and intense Pluto recurs seven times from June 24, 2012 through March 16, 2015. This is the period of upheaval we should be looking at, rather than focusing on a single day in 2012.
But there is another player that is involved in this cycle: Karmic Saturn, known in Astrology as “the Tester,” entered the picture in the late summer of 2008 and was exactly opposite Uranus on Election Day when Barack Obama was elected President. Saturn symbolizes the status quo. Saturn is traditional, conservative and fear-based, and it punishes those who do not follow the rules. On the other hand, Uranus symbolizes the new. Uranus is progressive and radical, and it anticipates the future with excitement. The Saturn-Uranus opposition is a struggle between the old and the new, and this phase of political confrontation will continue until Saturn and Uranus’ final contact next summer.
From an astrological perspective, this means we don’t have to wait until 2012 for the action to begin, because we are already in a time of profound change, not unlike the 1960s. Now, however, we communicate in ways that are far more revolutionary, due to our constant interconnection via cell phone, email, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and numerous other social networks. There are new political opportunities for disenfranchised people all over the world to connect with one another, which may explain Barack Obama’s meteoric rise to the Whitehouse over the fearful cries of the old-school American political machine. It is this factor — our ability to communicate more quickly and openly — that will prevent the end of the world.
Astrology is not about predicting fated events; it’s about being aware of cosmic movements so we can get our timing right to make positive changes. The Astrology of 2012 is not about announcing the end of the world. Rather, it’s a call to action. Each and every one of us has a job to do, because as the great psychologist Carl Jung said, “The salvation of the world depends upon the salvation of the individuals living in it.”
Some of us may play larger roles in the current changes by getting involved in community, national or global politics. But each of us adds to the total picture when we live our individual lives responsibly. Astrology reminds us that there is no time to waste — we are each an agent of change and each of us can impact the big picture by replacing doubt with courage, and by conquering fear with love.
In other words, this is truly the time to “think globally and act locally.”
New Moon in Gemini Horoscopes, June 19
Two Gemini New Moons in a month mean it’s time to cut the clutter!
Get ready for more information overload! This unusual event on June 19 is the second New Moon in Gemini in less than a month! We now have another chance to initiate connections and gather information, but efficiency is essential now.
That’s because Mars in discriminating Virgo forms a square with this lunation that signals the need to eliminate excess data so we can focus on critical details. The urge to collect ideas and facts needs to be tempered by a very focused and practical perspective on its application.
See how this New Moon in Gemini will affect your horoscope sign:
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
You may be hearing a lot of noise that can turn your head in several directions now. Don’t pay attention to conversations that don’t contribute to the bottom line. Gossip and random data might be interesting, but they distract you from making the key connections that really matter. Concentrate on core concerns when trying to impress others, as one practical concept is worth more than a million random ideas.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Making a choice between two different financial opportunities or purchasing decisions could be challenging now. It’s best to be conservative by putting your resources in as safe a situation as possible. Buying one item of a higher quality is better than purchasing two cheap ones. Similarly, putting your effort into sharpening an essential skill is smarter than spending time on trivial pursuits.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
This New Moon in your diverse sign is challenged by impatient Mars in pragmatic Virgo. If you’re feeling edgy, it’s probably because you have too many activities on your plate. Try cutting down your agenda by eliminating tasks that aren’t essential at this time. Serious Saturn’s favorable alignment to this lunation provides the discipline you need to avoid distractions and increase your productivity.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
This New Moon falls in your 12th House of Endings, making this a great time to review the recent past. Carefully evaluating your plans helps you recognize which projects aren’t worthwhile so that you can let go of them and focus on what’s really going to change your life. Spiritual practices and using your imagination and creativity are positive new directions to consider.
Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)
This event in your 11th House of Groups can spur you to get more involved in an organization or to re-evaluate your role on a team. Getting along with colleagues may be difficult until you’ve worked out the details of exactly what you expect of one another. Boosting your status on the team is most likely to come from upgrading your ability in a specialized skill.
Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)
This busy New Moon falls in your 10th House of Career and Public Responsibility, which can load you down with obligations. Instead of wearing yourself out by trying to please everyone, it’s healthier to eliminate some tasks from the pile — even if it’s tough for you to disappoint others or to feel like you’re not pulling your weight. A diet regarding your duties will do you wonders.
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)
Your interest in faraway places is likely to be spurred by this New Moon in your adventurous 9th House of Travel. However, this isn’t the ideal time to consider a getaway. It’s smarter to find ways to combine play with work or education so that a trip pays off in practical terms. Advice offered by a successful person might not be easy to accept but is probably worth taking.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)
Relationships could reach a new level of complications with this lunation landing in your 8th House of Intimacy. But instead of shutting out thoughts in your head or words from a partner, do your best to listen intently. Among the many things being said are one or two items that really count. Filter out the trivial stuff and you’ll hear valuable information for your personal and professional life.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)
This New Moon in your 7th House of Partners can put pressure on your relationship life. But that can be a good thing if you’re ready to make a commitment or are willing to work on the little details that can make or break an alliance. Sticking to real world issues and ways to resolve them is more important than letting your restless mind wander off in interesting but impractical directions.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)
Altering some of your work habits might be a productive use of this New Moon. It falls in your 6th House of Employment, challenging you to be even more efficient than useful. That could seem unfair as you’re probably juggling more balls in the air than usual. A healthier diet, along with proper rest and exercise helps you handle stress without getting edgy or wearing yourself out.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)
It’s time to be playful, creative and to have more fun. This New Moon lands in your 5th House of Romance and Children, where it lightens your heart and raises your profile. People want to be with you but you won’t have time for all of them. Carefully choosing who you want to spend your time with can make the difference between being bored silly and having an awesome time.
Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)
Changes on the home front are likely with this lunation in your 4th House of Roots. Unfinished thoughts and conversations about family may resurface, but it’s not helpful to simply repeat the old thoughts. Finding solutions is what this is all about, so focus on fixing issues. If have one you can’t resolve, set is aside and concentrate your efforts where real improvements can be made.
Current Moon Phase for Sunday, June 10
Disseminating Moon
(waning /135-90 degrees)
This is a tremendous time of transmutation. All of the prior elements are coming together for a final burst of creative output. You have seen a clear view of your own needs and the posture of significant others. Now the accumulation of that input is leading to a deep, core change within you. In this phase, you will naturally be inclined to seek higher guidance so that you can emerge from this transformation successfully. The Disseminting Moon favors sharing what you have learned (and are learning) with others.

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

Distractions from the outside begin pressing into your world. Analysis is favored, reevaluating all the various factors you are dealing with. It’s a time to process information and effectively integrate your aims with the people in your immediate environment. This is a good time for organizing things. This Moon Phase is suited to synthesis: coming up with a practical plan for getting from point A to point B. Adjustment is required.
Your Magick Spell for Sunday, June 3 – Solitary Moon Rite
Solitary Moon Rite
Since there is a Full Moon on the horizon, I thought this would be very appropriate and useful. Enjoy!
This rite may be used for either New or Full Moon. The difference is in your meditation and mental attitude in preparation. Remember that the New Moon is a time of outward work and thought, building to the peak which is the Full Moon.
At the Full Moon, you should be preparing to lessen the outward flow of energy, bit by bit, until the period before New Moon, during which you are passive, building a pool of energy within you, in preparation for the New Moon.
The altar should be placed in the center of the ritual area. On it should be placed a rose or stick of incense on the eastern side, a red votive candle to the South; a cup of water on the West, and a bowl of salt or living plant on the North. Around your ritual area, you should place an unlighted candle at the cardinal point of each direction.
To begin your rite, enter your darkened temple, carrying one burning candle, white or lavender, with you. Place it on the center of your altar, sit, and meditate on the meaning of the rite. When you feel the time is right, stand, and go to the eastern point, carrying with you, the burning taper. Light the votive at the eastern point and go to the southern, picturing, as you do, an arc of pure strong light curving from one candle to the next. Continue to the West, and then to the North, lighting the candles as you go, and then walk to your eastern candle again, having formed a circle of protective light surrounding the area in which you worship. Return to the center of the circle, replace the candle on the altar, and say:
“My Lady of the Moon, who is called Diana,
Artemis, Levanah, Isis and by any other names,
I come to you to bring you my love and my devotion.
May you grant me the joy of your presence.”
Mentally divide the room into four quadrants by visualizing a line of silvery moonlight from the southeast to the northwest, and from the northeast to the southwest. Go the East, taking with you the rose or incense. Say:
“Sweet Goddess,
the gentle breeze is the touch of your loving hand,
the wind of storm a reminder of your strength.
The sound of the trees in the wind is your voice,
and the fragrance of flowers borne on the wind is your gift of beauty.”
Place the rose next to the votive candle, then stand there as you picture the quadrant filling with moonlight. See the moonlight streaming quietly and gently into the room, filling the quadrant from center point to the edge of your circle. When this is complete, take the red candle to the South. Place the gift and see the quadrant fill with moonlight. Say:
“Most loved Lady,
the light of the candle is a guide along our path leading to you;
its warmth the reassurance of your presence and your love.
The light of the Sun is the knowledge you impart to us,
driving out ignorance and those things which can survive only in darkness.”
At the West:
“Lovely One,
the quiet pool is the serenity of your being.
The vast sea where life began on this planet
is the vast sea of your being whence all life came;
its waves are the ebb and flow of the universe you rule.”
At the North:
“Goddess of all,
the fertility of the earth is a sign of your fertility, whence all life rose.
The solidity and permanence are still of it are still less than yours.
The Earth’s fertility feeds our bodies, and your fertility feeds our souls.”
Go to the center of your temple, which is now filled with moonlight. Everything in the circle is touched by it, blessed by it, including you. Sit down and feel this moonlight around you. Know that it is the Goddess. Realize that you are in the center of a sphere of light that is half above and half above and half below where you sit.
Begin to breathe slowly and evenly, deep breaths that penetrate your whole body. When this rhythmic breathing becomes natural, imagine that the moonlight by which you are surrounded enters you, fills you entirely. With each exhalation of your breath, some of the essence of yourself leaves your body, and with each inhalation, the light enters you. You are being filled ever so gently with this beautiful light. This light, which is the presence, the being of the Goddess, is within you as well as without. With each breath, you are less yourself and more the Goddess. When you are filled with light, filled with the Goddess, the shell of your body fades away. You have no body; there is nothing to separate you from the entire being of the Goddess. Nothing exists but the being of which you are apart. You have ceased to be a separate entity. You are nothing and everything. All that was, that is, and all that will be, you are. Enjoy this feeling as long as you like.
When you feel it is time, picture the outer shell of your physical body reforming, becoming solid again. It is being built out of the Universe of which you are a part. Now, as you continue your slow deep breathing, see the moonlight flowing out of your body, as gently and slowly as it entered. As it flows out, realize there is a difference. Because you have become one with the Goddess, with the Universe, your being has changed. As the moonlight flows out of your body, it takes with it a part of that which was yourself, now part of the Goddess, and leaves behind a part of the Goddess, forever now part of you. You become yourself again, solid as you were, but changed. You are surrounded by the presence of the Goddess, which now contains a part of yourself . Move again to the East. As you speak, and after, picture the moon- light in that quadrant flowing back to its source, leaving that quadrant as it was. Do this at each quadrant, until all the moonlight has returned to the Moon.
At the East:
“My Lady, guide my thoughts.
Let them lead always closer to you.”
At the South:
“Gracious Goddess, guide my actions.
Let them always help and never harm others or myself.”
At the West:
“Lovely One, guide my emotions:
Let them be healing and touched always by you.”
At the North:
“Sweet Goddess,
let my mind always be fertile and strong,
that I may grow always toward you.”
Return to the East to complete the circle and say:
“Queen of Heaven,
I thank you for your presence,
both now and always.
My love and devotion are yours.
Blessed be!
All spirits who have joined me tonight may depart,
with my love.
Return to your proper places.”
Walk again around your circle, but this time counterclockwise, extinguishing the quadrant guards as you go, and at the same time, mentally erasing the white line which surrounded your circle. When the candles are out and the circle gone, rap on your altar and say:
“So mote it be!”

During this Moon phase, there is a slight “slowing down” of enthusiasm due to a desire emerging to produce tangible results from the energy being expended. The issue of values enters into the equation and an urge to tie together the data available so that you can utilize current opportunities. There is still plenty of forward motion and this is a great time to continue initiating and progressing forward. This Moon Phase favors gaining more information and the input of others to further your plans.
