Astrology of Today – May 14, 2015

Summary:

There can be a burst of enthusiasm with the Moon entering Aries early today. However, Mars and Saturn are moving towards an opposition, and if we push too hard, we can meet with blocks. Instead of tripping over ourselves attempting to push things that require more time, it’s a time for slowing down, disciplining ourselves, and considering practical angles.
•The Moon is in Pisces until 1:13 AM.
•The Moon is void until 1:13 AM (since 12:54 PM yesterday).
•The Moon is in Aries from 1:13 AM forward (until Saturday, May 16th, at 3:02 AM).
•The Moon is waning, and is in its Last Quarter phase until 3:41 PM / Waning Crescent from 3:41 PM forward.
•Mercury is in its shadow phase, pre-retrograde. (Mercury will be retrograde from May 18 to June 11).

Weekly Astrology: May 11 – 17, 2015

Let your dreams soar

There’s a major energy shift this week since Mars will change signs. At first, you might not know how to navigate it, but don’t worry — it won’t last forever. Make peace with the fact that you’ll be more dreamy and romantic this week rather than productive. Hey, that’s not so bad, is it? Read all about it!

Monday, May 11: Mars in Gemini

On Monday, Mars will sail into Gemini where he’ll remain until June 24. When the planet of assertiveness and stamina enters curious, intellectual Gemini, you can bet that you’ll feel more motivated than ever for mental pursuits. In fact, you’ll be passionate about learning! You’ll also enjoy a welcome boost in cerebral stimulation. Expect to think, talk and make decisions at warp speed! Also, expect to change your plans a lot during this time — flightiness comes from boredom.

Friday, May 15: Mars opposite Saturn

Unfortunately, you might not notice all the goodness of Mars in Gemini until next week. This Friday, he’ll make a sharp opposition to Saturn, which will put the brakes on whatever it is you’re trying to achieve. Think of this as a signal to make sure you’re carefully planning out what you want to do and say next.

Saturday, May 16: Venus in Cancer trine Neptune

On Saturday, Venus will trine Neptune and fairy tale romance is possible for everyone. If you’re not in a relationship, you’ll fantasize a lot more about love. It’ll be a great time to schedule a first date. If you’re attached, you’ll know you’ve found the perfect soul mate, at least for now.

Weekly Astrology: May 4 – 10, 2015

Let your light shine bright this week!

While communication matters might be hazy, there are so many bright spots to this week that you won’t even care. Here’s why…

Monday, May 4: Sun in Taurus square Jupiter in Leo

On Monday, the Sun will square off with Jupiter making it a “larger than life” day for all of us. With the Sun in hard aspectto Jupiter, your ego might get the best of you. Enjoy the possibilities that Jupiter will bring in terms of shining your light in a major way, but be careful that you don’t expect the world to bow down to you and all of your glory.

Wednesday, May 6: Sun trine Pluto

On Wednesday, it’ll feel like you’re in complete control of the universe. Well, at least yours. The Sun will be at a magnificent trine to Plutowhich will intensify all the goodness of your vital spirit, without any of the nasty side effects from Monday. In fact, you’ll have the ability to direct your energy towards transforming a part of your life that you know needs an overhaul. You’ll be successful.

Thursday, May 7: Venus in Cancer

On Thursday, Venus will enter Cancer where she’ll remain until June 5. This is always a great placement to enjoy greater harmony in all domestic matters. You and your sweetheart or whomever you share space with will take great pleasure in any type of home makeover now. Financially, this placement favors real estate investments and also decisions related to family estate planning.

Saturday, May 9: Mercury in Gemini square Neptune

Don’t make any major decisions or sign contracts on Saturday. That’s when Mercury squares off with Neptune. Mental blurriness will be a problem for everyone.

When the Astrology Doesn’t Fit

When the Astrology Doesn’t Fit

No drama or crises?! What now?

Maria DeSimoneMaria DeSimone on the topics of blogs, astrology

The other day I was visiting my mother. Over cake and coffee, she inhaled her electronic cigarette while staring at me in that “I’m your mom and I know something’s up” kind of way. Finally, she spoke up: “OK, Maria, what’s wrong with you now?”

I looked up from my plate of chocolate oblivion and sighed. “Nothing. Nothing’s wrong … and that’s the problem. For the first time since I can remember, I don’t have a major life crisis to deal with. I feel lost — unsettled. What do I do with my life when I don’t have a fire to extinguish?”

You see, I don’t know how to float in the sea of normal. I’m used to fighting for my life; flailing in an ocean of chaos. I thought for sure that the recent April insanity of the Cardinal Grand Cross combined with eclipse season would bring an intense catastrophe my way. I even consulted colleagues about how direct my personal birth chart would be hit. Everyone corroborated: Something major was up.

But nothing happened. Nothing that would fit the bill of life-changing or traumatic or shocking. I was not brought to my knees. In fact, all has been calm. Anything that did transpire in April was, dare I say … GOOD!

Disturbed by the lack of disturbance…

This left me more than a little disturbed. If I’m being honest, I felt punked by the universe. Exact math … stressful astrology. I was dumbfounded. Where’s the crisis? Where’s the drama?

I was so sure April would bring me a major personal fire to put out that I did as much advance preparation as I could. I decided to clear my schedule and not see clients or teach classes for the second half of April. I figured if I had a lighter load it would be easier to deal with whatever the universe planned to hurl my way.

What did I get? An unexpected mini-vacation. Time to think and reflect. Why wasn’t the Astrology “working,” I wondered. It didn’t make an ounce of sense.

Until my mother helped me put it into perspective.

She pointed out that maybe, for me, the developmental stress suggested by April’s planetary patterns was more about learning how to bury the saga of a trauma filled journey and learn to accept — even enjoy — something a little less abrasive. A life that is a bit more peaceful. Normal.

Maybe April’s tense sky mixed with my own birth chart in a way that’s similar to the strange mathematical process where two negatives multiplied equal a positive.

It’s actually OK to be happy!

Either way, now that May is here and I’m about to celebrate my 40th birthday, I realize something about myself as a person. Not surprisingly, it was the Astrology of April NOT fitting that led to this awakening. You see, I tend to deny myself permission to be happy and at peace. And you know what? That’s not cool anymore.

Maybe I can blame natal Venus square Saturn, but for the majority of my current incarnation all I remember thinking is that: “When I’m older I’ll enjoy my life more. Later. Joy will come later.” I spent the first 40 years of my life convincing myself that I hadn’t earned the right to be happy yet.

Yeah, that’s a Venus-Saturn thing alright. But there’s good news. Venus-Saturn people ARE supposed to improve with age. The second half of my life IS supposed to be better than the first half. That’s probably because, for us, it takes the first half of our lives to realize that we DESERVE it.

I just need to get out of my own way first. I need to give myself permission to live life without expecting never-ending crisis and instead embrace happiness.

When there are major planetary shifts, as there were in April, astrologers presume activity. We anticipate outer events to transpire. For many people, that DID happen. But for me, personally, I initially felt blindsided by the lack of outer events in my personal world over the last month. I didn’t give enough credit to the volcanic eruptions that occurred INSIDE.

Oftentimes, those internal explosions are way more potent than anything the world can see.

How did April’s energy treat you? Did the Astrology fit? Or did it make you aware of what no longer fits? For me, it was most certainly the latter. And I’m not just talking about those size 0 jeans I wore in 2009.

2014 Cardinal Grand Cross: A Direct Hit

2014 Cardinal Grand Cross: A Direct Hit

April is the most challenging month for years to come!

Maria DeSimoneMaria DeSimone on the topics of uranus square pluto, grand cross, astrology

Unless you’re in a sleep-induced coma, you’ve got to feel the energetic shifts happening these days. Welcome to April — the most challenging month of the year. Quite possibly this will be the most challenging month for years to come.

Current Astrology is certainly foreboding, with it being eclipse season and the coming precise alignment of a Cardinal Grand Cross. Times are changing, and if you have planets or personal angles in your horoscope in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, your life is most certainly under construction these days.

Times of transformation aren’t easy, but don’t worry — you’re not alone. I recently gave a teleconference to my beloved website members, going into detail about the Astrology of April and what it potentially means for you, me and the rest of our planet. The one thing you can be certain of is that whatever you’re going through, it’s not happening in isolation. We’re in this together.

Taking a direct hit

In my birth chart I have Mars in Cancer at 11 degrees. Because I have Aries rising, Mars is my chart ruler, making this planet a very strong presence in my psyche. In addition, Mars is close to an angle in my chart, the 4th house cusp. I tell my students all the time that when you have a planet on an angle it’ll certainly make extra noise in your life. It must,  because the angles of any chart are points of energy manifestation. It’s where all the magic happens!

Besides this, my 4th and 10th house axis is at 13.5 degrees of Cancer and Capricorn. Guess what? The Cardinal Cross peaks the week of April 20 at 13 and one half degrees! Yes, I am receiving a direct hit.

But wait, there’s more! I have Aries rising at 25 degrees. The Lunar Eclipse in Libra happens at 25 degrees on April 15, and it will be precisely conjunct my 7th house cusp and my natal Uranus which sits right on my descendant. Another direct hit.

So, of course, I have deep personal interest in the Astrology of April. I have to — my world is guaranteed to change in a most significant way. Although I can speculate, I can’t be certain how this Astrology will play out. I just know it will be radical, uncomfortable change. And whenever Uranus is part of the picture, things happen abruptly.

Not surprisingly, all of the attendees of my recent teleconference wanted answers. They wanted practical advice they could use to help them get through any drastic, painful change that might be happening in their world. I did my best to offer guidance along the lines of accepting the cosmic soul growth acceleration package the universe was about to hand out to Cardinal signs. I told them to embrace the pain and use it as a strengthening tool. I told them to keep getting back up no matter how hard life punched them out this month. Why?

No, I’m not a masochist. And the universe is not a sadist. Really.

Profound change starts within

The reason I want everyone (myself included) to welcome and breathe through any tribulation this month is very simple: Revolution might be happening in our lives at lightning speed, but if you think about it, those changes ultimately will lead to remarkable inner shifts.

You are not a sitting duck this month. Your soul has been whispering to you since 2012 (when the first Uranus-Pluto square happened) about what needed to break down in your life in order for you to have that personal breakthrough. If you’ve tried your best to ignore what your soul knows must happen, then you’re going to have serious growing pains.

But if you remain conscious this month, and if you choose to connect to your higher self, then you will take responsibility for your personal journey. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we sure can control our reaction to it. React productively this month, my friends. And remember…

Change: It’s an inside job.

Equinoxes, Solstices and Astrology

Learn all about the fresh-start feeling you get with each new season

Maria DeSimone   Maria DeSimone on the topics of solstice, equinox, astrology

Have you ever wondered about the meaning of an equinox or solstice and how they tie into Astrology? Not surprisingly, there’s a major significance to these periods of time and they each have something in common. An equinox or solstice tells us about our relationship here on Earth to the Sun at any given season.

That’s right … the first thing to remember about an equinox or solstice is that they mark the beginning of a new season. There are two equinox points each year (spring and autumn) and two solstice points (summer and winter). They each correspond to one of the four Cardinal signs of the zodiac — also known as the Cardinal axis. This axis is extremely important in Astrology because it is where we find the powerful angles in a birth chart. These angles are points of energy manifestation. They are highly sensitive points in your chart that trigger every major life event.  Each of these points on the Cardinal axis will correlate to one of the four cardinal directions (north, south, east, west).

Let’s dig into the astronomy and Astrology behind solstices and equinoxes so that you can understand more about their implication for our life and our planet!

The Summer and Winter Solstices

By definition, a solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice a year — once at the beginning of winter and again at the start of summer. During a solstice, the Sun will reach its highest or lowest point relative to the celestial equator. The celestial equator is a fancy term for the giant imaginary circle that’s on the same plane as our equator. The word solstice literally means “Sun stands still,” and that’s exactly what appears to happen during a solstice point from our perspective here on Earth.

During the Summer Solstice, the Sun will appear to stop and then begin declining in the slightest way each day in a southward direction. The date of the Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year because at that point the Sun stops right over the Tropic of Cancer which is the northernmost point. After a few days it will backtrack south towards the equator. The Solstice occurs on June 21 and astrologically, it coincides with the start of the Cardinal sign Cancer.

The Winter Solstice, on the other hand, occurs when the Sun appears to stand still at the southernmost point of the equator (the Tropic of Capricorn) and then slowly begins to trek north again. The Winter Solstice occurs on December 21 and marks the shortest day of the year. Astrologically, it coincides with the start of the Cardinal zodiac sign Capricorn. From a soul perspective, the Winter Solstice is about celebrating the rebirth of life in all forms. From here on out, the days will get longer and the Sun will shine brighter. Hope is renewed.

The Spring and Fall Equinoxes

In contrast, an equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is neither away or towards the Sun. At this time, the center of the Sun is in the plane of the Earth’s equator. What happens as a result is that the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere. The word equinox is translated in Latin to mean “equal night” because during an equinox the day and night will be at equal length.

The Spring Equinox begins on March 21 and marks the start of the new astrological year in the tropical zodiac since the Sun will enter Aries — the first sign in the zodiac. This is typically a time of new beginnings and we have come to associate the Spring Equinox with a “fresh start.”

The Fall Equinox occurs when the Sun reaches the opposite balancing point in its path through the tropical zodiac. Once again, the day and night are of about equal length during this time. This occurs on September 21 and correlates to the sign Libra. This time of year has become connected to “harvest” and reaping the fruits of our labor. At the same time, it brings up a certain respect for the fact that now, nights will become longer and it’s time to conserve energy and resources.

Cardinal signs bring life

An important point to note is that the seasonal relationship to solstices and equinoxes specifically apply to the Northern Hemisphere. Seasons in the Southern Hemisphere are reversed.

Either way, it’s no accident that the zodiac signs correlated to equinoxes and solstices are all Cardinal signs. Cardinal signs begin each season and are associated with qualities of initiative. Whether it’s an equinox or solstice, we’re celebrating the start of something new. Each season has a specific and essential job that we rely on for our very existence. The equinox and solstice points are sacred markers in time that help us connect the dots to the mystery behind the Earth’s never ending circle of life.

Let’s Talk Witch – Your Elmental World

Let’s Talk Witch – Your Elmental World

Earth

Solid and strong – Earth is the mountain, protective it is the shelter of the cave, nurturing it is the food from the fields and the animals of the hunt. It is life. It is ancient and it is replenishing. Earth is also the direction of the North where the great mountains reside, it is midnight, it is winter and it is the point between death and rebirth when things sleep to gather strength. It is the embrace of death and the promise of rebirth.

Earth is traditionally thought of as a feminine element for from the Earth springs life and that is the realm of women. Earthy things are practical, protective and nurturing. In astrology it is represented by Capricorn (Ambitious, Hard-working, Miserly, Grouchy), Taurus (Calm, Traditional, Sensual and Greedy), and Virgo (Organized, Conscientious, Fussy and Anxious). It is the color of green (or brown).

Earth is the element of the North and the gift of the North is the Lia Fial or magick stone that would cry out when a righteous ruler touched it. This person would be a protector (mother/father) to a nation.

Air

The breath of inspiration, serenity and logic, creativity and the wonder that fills us as we look to the skies and see shapes and dreams within the clouds. Air is also the raw power of a cyclone and the precision of a lightning strike, it is the violence and turbulence of the thunderstorm that also mimics the creative process.

Air is traditionally a masculine element. It is thought and action, inspiration and wonder. It is youthfulness and it is boundless energy. In astrology it is represented by Libra (Charming, Tasteful, Easygoing, Indulgent), Aquarius (Progressive, Inventive, Eccentric and Rebellious) and Gemini (Lively, Talkative, Flirtatious and Crafty). It is the dawn of a new day, it is Spring time, new beginnings and the directions of the sunrise – The East. It is the color Yellow.

Air is the element of the East and brings the gift of the Sword of Nuada that was said to embody the power and knowledge of the Celtic people.

Fire

Burning passion, desire, heated arguments, rage, shouting, screaming, laughing, and crying. All acts of passion and the heat of the moment. Explosions of temper and passionate embraces. Fire is all this but it is also devotion, determination and drive. It fuels us to great accomplishments and gives us hope when all else is lost.

Fire is also traditionally a Masculine element often associated with wars and the Sun. Fire gives us purpose and direction. In astrology Fire is represented by Aries (Energetic, Competitive, Impatient, Selfish), Leo (Commanding, Colorful, Superior and Self-Centered) and Sagittarius (Adventurous, Jovial, Careless and a Spendthrift). It is the mid-day sun, it is summer, it is the prime of our lives. It is represented by the color red.

Fire is the Element of the South and its gift is the Spear of Lugh that when wielded in battle would emit a blinding light stunning ones foes and leading to victory.

Spirit

We are physical beings born of flesh and blood, yet at the same time there is a piece of us that will outlive our bodies and that connects us to each other. This is our astral selves, our aura, the touch of divinity. In traditional alchemy the four traditional elements (earth, air, fire and water) were easily found in nature and within ourselves, but alchemists devoted thier lives to looking for the fifth element (spirit) that would only manifest when there was a balance of the other four within our lives.

Spirit is the fifth point on the Pentagram and the center of our circles. It provides balance by connecting us to not only the other Elements but to each other and divinity. The gift of spirit is the akashic records from which we are connected to all things.

Spirit is not associated with any time of day for it rides with us, it is also not associated with a season or stage of life except perhaps for the point between death and rebirth. Spirit exists apart from time and space. We invite spirit into our rituals when we call on Diety. It is represented by the altar itself, and by the pentacle.

Splish splash birthday bash! Celebrating the zodiac’s dreamy Fishes

Maria DeSimone  Maria DeSimone on the topics of pisces, birthdays, astrology

Are you ready to dream your most fantastic dream yet, Pisces? It’s your birthday and if there’s any sign who stores pixie dust in his or her soul … it’s you. When it’s your special day there is, indeed, a certain kind of magic in the air and you know how to tap into it like no one else. That’s because you’re a sign famous for being connected to everything that we cannot see, taste, touch, feel or smell, but know to be true in our hearts. It’s called faith, and you’ve got it in spades.

A whimsical birthday

Imagination is also one of your strengths. You’re probably quite talented in some type of creative pursuit and you’re also one of the most intuitive signs of the zodiac. In fact, you’re known as the psychic sponge. This is because you have a high degree of empathy — a capacity to literally feel someone else’s pain and suffering. You also have a deep yearning to help others heal from this pain. Your compassion runs deep. But don’t forget to take time for yourself on your special day. A few hours in solitude to meditate on your intentions for the year ahead will do wonders for your sense of well-being.

You can be so charitable that at times, you forget to draw healthy boundaries. Occasionally this can lead to others taking advantage of your kindness, mistaking it for weakness. But once you get a handle on this boundary situation, you’re typically the model for the rest of us when it comes to unconditional love. If a loved one forgets your birthday, you’re more likely than others to extend instant forgiveness. After all, this person has so much on their plate … you understand.

Sun in Pisces

Sun in Pisces

It’s time to reconnect with your spiritual side

Tarotcom Staff  Tarotcom Staff on the topics of sun, pisces, astrology

It’s time to wrap up another astrological year! When the Sun moves into Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, from February 18 to March 20, it signals the ending of one cycle before the next begins at the Spring Equinox.

And what do you do when something ends, before you begin again? Rest! That’s why the Sun in Pisces is considered a time to dream and heal and regain strength before starting the new cycle.

Pisces is symbolized by two Fish, which we like to call “the fishes with wishes.” The fish are swimming in opposite directions, which is representative of the Pisces paradox. This sign is at once caught between feeling the harshness of reality and the desire for dreamy escapism.

It’s normal to feel more spiritual while the Sun is in Pisces. It’s easier to tap into your intuition and we’re more inclined to follow our instincts and surrender to something greater than the individual self. But it can also be a lazy, daydream-filled period, so we must keep our escapist tendencies in check.

Those born from about February 15-21 were born on the Aquarius-Pisces cusp, and those born from about March 18-22 were born on the Pisces-Aries cusp. Being born on the cusp simply means that you were born during the transition time between two  zodiac signs, so you retain some qualities from each sign.

If we can embrace empathy for others without letting their pain make us feel victimized while the Sun is in Pisces, this promises to be a very healing time.

Here’s how to make the most of life with the Sun in Pisces:

What to do: Take care of someone! Pisces is the most compassionate and caring zodiac sign, so they are at their best when doing something kind for others. Adopt this admirable Pisces quality now and use it to ease someone’s pain.

What to say: Something poetic. The dreamy fishes are artsy and creative, so now’s the time to channel your inner Pisces poet and write or speak something beautiful to someone you love.

Where to go: Bed! Pisces can sometimes be called “lazy,” but really they just need a safe place to lie down, close their eyes and dream the day away. If you find your mind meandering while the Sun is in Pisces, give yourself permission to take a sweet little nap.

What to wear: Who cares?! Seriously. Life is not about what we wear, it’s about who we are. That’s the typical Pisces mindset, of course, so if you’re tired of dressing for success, this is a good time to slack into some sweats and forget about fashion while you follow more spiritual pursuits.

What to buy: Anything that will help you feel more connected to your spiritual side. It’s easier to tap into your intuition while the Sun is in Pisces, so shop for New Age healing crystals, incense, candles, Tarot cards and all of Pisces’ favorite spiritual supplies.

What to watch out for: Highly sensitive, compassionate and imaginative, Pisces is at risk of wanting to escape when they feel too much or get caught up in daydreams. Alcohol and drug abuse are common to this sign, so be aware of escapism and try to keep yourself grounded (at least a little bit) while the Sun is in Pisces.

What to look forward to: Healing! By the time the Sun moves out of Pisces, you’ll be rested, renewed, reconnected with your spiritual self and ready to begin a new astrological year!

The Gift and Curse of Natal Astrology

The Gift and Curse of Natal Astrology

Jeff Jawer    Jeff Jawer on the topics of blogs, astrology

There is nothing like a natal chart to describe one’s personality. One calculated for the time, date and place of birth is a deeply rich and textured picture of psyche, soul, potential and problem areas. The great gift of having your personal Astrology Birth Chart done is the way in which the various drives, needs and desires are expressed so beautifully by the Sun, Moon, planets, zodiac signs, houses and aspects. It’s liberating to recognize individual characteristics as appropriate when they differ from family or cultural models. At its best, a natal chart is a passport to oneself and a source of individual freedom.

Yet a birth chart analysis is, like any other system, a double-edged sword. While it provides self-understanding that can be liberating, it also may have the opposite effect of boxing us in a limiting set of beliefs about ourselves. The key to making the most of Astrology is in how you apply this uniquely perceptive tool.

For example, I was born with the Moon in Scorpio, which represents emotional intensity and going to extremes. Learning this helped me put the powerful feelings I’ve always experienced into a meaningful context. It’s the need of a Scorpio Moon person to dive into the depths of him or herself to discover underlying desires and motivations. What previously simply seemed like a character weakness or neurosis finally had a name and a purpose. I’m supposed to be intense and complex, sometimes pushing emotional buttons, my own and others’.

Breaking free from expectations

Names give things power. “Scorpio Moon” gave a name to my feelings, which made sense out of them. Yet it also became a limiting factor, because I wasn’t supposed to have access to the lightness of a Moon in Gemini or the spontaneity of a Moon in Aries. The gift of self-identification, especially an accurate one, must be handled carefully. It is a tool that can be applied constructively and destructively. This is the risk of astrological analysis: that it describes us so well that we may be stuck with that description. There are, fortunately, some remedies for this.

One is to recognize that we all have a Moon and that we all have feelings. This is the primary truth of our human experience. The shades of difference accorded to each Moon sign are meaningful, but they are not the whole story. Rather than stopping with the symbol, whether it’s the Moon in Scorpio, Mars in Libra or any planetary placement, think of these as starting points. The birth chart represents default behavior; the unconscious responses to life that operate when we don’t pay attention or take responsibility for ourselves. Learning that my Moon is in Scorpio is not an excuse for resentment, jealousy or emotional extremism, but a warning signal. I need intensity, yet part of growing as a person is to express it in healthy ways. The zodiac sign that any planet is in is a gateway to its essence, yet beyond that opening lies a much wider range of expression.

Another remedy is to step away from the restrictive self-identification of the birth chart when it’s not serving a useful purpose. Instead of justifying my stubborn thinking because I was born with cerebral Mercury in fixed sign Taurus, I can recognize when I’m caught in a mental rut and make appropriate adjustments. Instead of reinforcing the behavior astrologically, the awareness a birth chart provides can show us how we’re limited by old patterns and habits and need to change them.

Your Astrology is not absolute

Astrology is a brilliant technology that can be used to reinforce negative traits, which makes it less than helpful. However, when we recognize the chart as a model rather than an absolute rule, we have the freedom to choose how we work with it. This is no different than the ways we use traumas to assess our lives. The child of an alcoholic parent can explain certain behavior because of that experience, but the goal is to use this understanding to move beyond, rather than to reinforce the pattern. When self-identification with Astrology or with any other system empowers us, it’s worth using, but when it becomes a barrier to growth, it’s better to let it go until we can apply it in a more constructive way.
