A note for our guests: The High Priestess of Coven Life’s Coven welcomes you to our special gathering. We thank you for coming to support our coven member that invited you. We invite you to ask any question about the gathering either before or after the circle has been cast. In other words, before we begin the ceremonies until after we are done. Please join in the meet and greet before and after the ritual circle. Please do not “talk” except when asked to respond once the circle has been cast. We ask that you do not talk about what you see here this evening/morning except with the person that invited you to join us. Thank you for your consideration.

When I say come into the middle of our circle imagine that you are surrounded by everyone else in attendance standing in front of me in the center.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

If you are jumping the broom –

Either your Besom or a Regular Broom

1 4-inch candle  the color you need for your stage

Matches or Lighter

Candle Holder

EVERYONE including guests: A small glass of chalice filled with the beverage of your choice any beverage except hard liquor is allowed during any ritual and as an offering. Wine or Beer is acceptable. Whatever sweet or small snack you prefer.

White for Maiden/Young Man (If you are a virgin, just began your monthly woman’s cycle, or still feel like you are an adolescent you are in this stage of your life)

Red for Mother or Father (even if you have no 2 or 4 legged children but have your monthly woman’s cycle. For men if you can sire a child, You belong in this phase of your life)

Black for Crone or Wizard (if your children are grown and you feel that you can pass wisdom down to those younger than you and can help mentor young witches with their studies. You belong in this phase of your life)

Engrave your name on your candle. The name can be one you picked for this phase of your life or your given name.

LADY BELTANE CALLS THE WATCHTOWERS: Facing the East – I call Air into the East Tower where the Sun rises, the element that controls powers of wonder and imagination, clarity in communication to protect our sacred circle and lend us your power, understanding, and protection.

Facing the South – I call Fire into the South Tower which controls the powers of passion, determination, courage, and devotion to protect our sacred circle and lend us your power understanding and protection.

Facing the West: I call Water into the West Tower which controls the powers of love, compassion, and all feelings to protect our sacred circle and lend us your power, understanding, and protection.

Facing the North: I call Earth into the North Tower which controls fertility, all growing things, strength, and grounding to protect our sacred circle and lend us your power, understanding, and protection.

LADY BELTANE CASTS THE CIRCLE: Each time the circle is walked it is started at the East Cardinal Point and ends in 2 to 3 steps from where each circle is started –

With the Atheme pointed at the ground – I close this circle with the element of Fire that all within it may be safe,

With the Atheme between waist and shoulder level – I close this circle with the element of Water that all within it may be safe

With the Atheme at head height – I close this circle with the element of Air that all within it may be safe

Lady Beltane faces the North and bends down slightly – I bring up the element of Earth to close this circle that all within it may be safe

Standing facing the altar – With hands raised palms upward bring them down in an arch first North and South then East and West – I close this circle with the element of Spirit that all within it may be safe.

Turning slowly in a clockwise direction “As above, so below. As within, so without. I transport us to a place that has no time and is not a specific place. We are in another dimension within this circle.” (Sets Atheme on Altar)

LADY BELTANE: I welcome my coven and our guests to tonight’s very special gathering with open arms and in perfect love and perfect trust.

Coven: Answer with “I am first or pagan name only from State or Country Only  and I have entered this circle in perfect love and perfect trust”

Guests: if you feel comfortable in sharing your first name and what state or country you live in please type it the information and hit the enter key for it to go into the feed

JUMPING THE BROOM

No matter which life phase you are entering you will stand to the left side of your broom and jump or walk over it to stand on the right side. Light your candle immediately after jumping the broom. Set the burning candle in a safe place allowing it to burn down completely. This seals your new life phase. After this is done you are starting a new phase of your life.

Each life phase group: One at a time please state your name and the life phase.  When your turn comes you will have one additional question to answer before you jump the broom. Please type in done after your jump so the next person can do theirs.

Coven members and guests that are going to declare themselves a Maiden or Warrior please step into the middle of our circle. Maidens and Warriors if you do not feel you are ready to take this step in your life this evening then please take your place back into the circle. Lady Beltane will call you one at a time to jump the broom.

MAIDEN AND WARRIOR: Please state your name and the name you wish to go by at this stage of your life.

LADY BELTANE: You come into this circle to become a Maiden who has had her first monthly blood to declare yourself eligible for dating and marriage. You are doing this by a choice you made for yourself without influence from anyone?

LADY BELTANE: You come into this circle to become a Warrior who has gone through puberty to declare yourself eligible for dating and marriage. You are doing this by a choice you made for yourself without influence from anyone?

LADY BELTANE: You come into this circle as a Maiden or Warrior to now become a Mother or Father. You are in the prime of your life being fully ready to take on all the responsibilities that comes with working a job, nurturing a loving relationship with your significant other or are looking for that right someone to share your life with, at this time you are the most fertile to bring a new life in the world if you chose to, you have matured enough to start a career and family. And wise enough to know when to ask for help from a person with more experience than you with whatever task you are trying to do. If you do not feel you are ready to take this step in your life this evening then please take your place back into the circle. Lady Beltane will call you one at a time to jump the broom

MOTHER AND FATHER: Please state your name and the name you wish to go by at this stage of your life.

 LADY BELTANE: This phase of your life comes with many challenges but with common sense, perseverance, and maybe some help from a friend or one of your fellow coven members or an Elder you will make it through it. This phase of your life will probably have some very big highs – like marriage or having a baby or buying you first house or car, etc. But it also will have some very low points – The possibility of a friend dying young or middle age for no apparent reason, your children growing up and leaving home, etc. May you be blessed with attaining all the things you work so hard to get. May you teach your children the importance of helping Mother Earth, especially picking up trash that could hurt one of our fellow creatures. Most of all I give you a blessing of patience because you will need it in many different situations. Mother’s and Father’s please step back into the circle.

LADY BELTANE: Will those who are going from Mother or Father into the wiser years of their lives and are declaring themselves as a Crone or a Wizard please step into the middle of the circle. You have come to a point in your life where if you have children, they are fully grown either living on their own and may have a family of their own. With this phase of your life, you can be or coming close to being retired. It is your responsibility to teach the younger generation in your blood family your family’s history. In the coven, you should be able to be called upon to help and guide our younger witches, to step in to lead the coven when our High Priestess is not able to. It is your duty to share your years of knowledge not just face to face or through emails but through imparting it on our coven’s website. This is also the time in your life that you have the time after you retire from a regular job to go out and enjoy Mother Earth more or start doing things you could not do when you had the duties and responsibilities of the Maiden/Young Man or Mother/Father phases in this lifetime if you do not feel you are ready to take this step in your life this evening then please take your place back into the circle.  LADY BELTANE: I have already explained what this phase of your life can bring you so I will leave you with this one thought. “Do not think of this as the dying phase of your life think of this as the phase where you are old and wise enough to try new things, research topics you always wanted to know more about, and most of all enjoy the freedom that comes from being older and wiser than a maiden or young man or a mother or father. May the Gods and Goddesses bless you as you share your wisdom with those younger than yourselves. May you have many, many years in this phase of your life so if you have descendants you can watch and help them grow into people that take the responsibility for the things they chose to do in their lives be it good or bad. Crones, you have become elders in our coven and as such your place in our circle is now behind and to the right of the altar. Wizards you have become elders in our coven as such your place in our circle is now behind and to the left of the altar.

WICCANING

LADY BELTANE: We will now begin the Wiccaning ceremony. If it is your desire to have Lady Beltane call forth your maternal ancestors to help guide and protect you please type your name in. I will call you forward one at a time to do your Wiccaning for you.

With the Atheme between waist and shoulder level – I open this circle and dismiss the element of Water with our thanks for keeping us safe

With the Atheme at head height – I open this circle and dismiss the element of AIr with our thanks for keeping us safe

Lady Beltane faces the North and bends down slightly – I dismiss the element of Earth to open this circle but not break it

Standing facing the altar – With hands raised palms downward bring them down in an arch first North and South then East and West – I dismiss the element of Spirit to open this circle but not to break it

Turning slowly in a clockwise direction “As above, so below. As within, so without. I transport us back from a place that has no time and is not a specific place. We have now returned to our physical plane.  (Sets Atheme on Altar)

EVERYONE: Raise your hand up above your head with palms facing down slowly lower your hands until they touch the floor giving Mother Earth all the extra energy raised tonight or this morning for her usage in whatever way she wants to. Then make a quarter turn and do the same thing again.

LADY BELTANE: I thank everyone for attending and making the evening more special for those that Jumped the Broom and/or had a Wiccaning done. Eat, Drink, and enjoy visiting with one another. Please remember to save your last sip and last bite to offer to the Great Mother Goddess and the Great Father God. Until we meet again may you all be blessed with positive things in your life.
