Your Daily Horoscopes for Friday, April 24th

We have one foot in the land of dreams today while the other is firmly planted on the ground. The magical Pisces Moon lures us into fantasies yet her flowing trines with indulgent Jupiter and restrictive Saturn balance fiction with fact. Love may be in the air, but we are motivated to bring it down to earth as sensual Venus also trines karmic Saturn. We’re due for a reality check, especially if our romantic yearnings are getting out of control.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Sometimes too much structure in your personal relationships makes you nervous, since you treasure your independence. But the cosmic weather encourages you to make a commitment without fear of being tied down today. Maybe a current relationship really is different from others in your past. Or, perhaps you have changed. However, it’s possible that you’re misleading yourself because the power struggles have not yet surfaced. Nevertheless, don’t run away; stay with your feelings. Time will reveal the truth.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Your inner voice may be telling you to cool your heels today and it would be wise to take heed. Although this feeling of uncertainty will pass, the reality of your current experience will outlast this moment and it will be clear which course of action is best for you. However, if you see the possibility of developing a healthy relationship in the future, do what you can to keep the energy alive until you decide where it’s heading.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Although you’re more in touch with your artistic nature these days, it’s not easy to express what’s in your imagination now. You’re feeling a mental buzz from trying to integrate recent realizations; however, it’s time to move out of your head and into your body. Treat yourself to sensual activities such as a massage, a gourmet meal or an evening of music; anything to ground and relax you fits the bill. Sensations come and go, but your experiences become fuel for your creative expression later on

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You may have unsettled feelings that won’t go away today, even though you see signs that make you believe you can trust your instincts. Your anxiety is worrisome, especially when your intuition contradicts logical thought. Even if you want additional corroboration from the universe, you really shouldn’t wait to make your move. Your moment is here; proceed with love in your heart and you just might succeed beyond your wildest dreams.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Maybe you know things today that others do not. Or, perhaps you’re just afraid of being controlled by someone else’s agenda. No matter what has you hot and bothered now, it’s crucial to stay as rational as possible. Observe what is occurring in your immediate environment as objectively as possible and listen to what others are saying. Once you have done enough research, act in accordance with what you know rather than what you fabricate from your fears. You may be pleasantly surprised by how smoothly things progress when your behavior is aligned with the truth.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Although your intuition is working overtime today, it could raise unrealistic concerns over little things that, in the long run, won’t even matter. But it’s not a simple task to separate the valid worries from the imagined ones. This is your current dilemma; there are no quick and easy answers. Nevertheless, a solution is closer than you think. For a change, trust the feelings of your heart and not the thoughts of your head. Satisfaction can be yours if you continue to move sensibly toward that which makes you smile.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Your weekend begins with a healthy dose of cosmic restraint. Even your most grandiose schemes and visions take on an air of sensibility today as your key planet Venus trines pragmatic Saturn. This is a great time to convert your ideas into concrete plans, but first bring your high-flying desires down a level or two so they can become more real. Methodical action aimed at a very specific goal just might bring you the rewards you seek. Blending the practical and the magical leads you on a path to success.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Showing up in the outer world is what counts today, rather than following your never-ending attraction to the mysteries of the universe. It’s not that your spiritual quest is any less important now; it’s just that reality is placing very real demands on you that can’t be ignored. Ultimately, even your work reflects back onto your inner life. Just take care of business and your efforts will come full circle later on. Demonstrate your integrity by delivering on your promises on time.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

The most important thing you can get from others now is an honest reflection of your own feelings. It’s not necessary to focus on specific issues or work to change the circumstances in your life today. Instead, take time to examine how you present yourself to the outer world through your everyday actions. Share your concerns with those closest to you because they’re the ones who will help you clarify what ultimately matters most to your heart.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You have a chance to find the love and affection you seek now that your key planet Saturn is creating a yummy trine with pleasurable Venus. You’re not interested in receiving short-lived gratification or in making a quick buck today. Since Venus symbolizes all things of value, you may have a chance to solidify a big deal — one that can bring you financial reward or professional recognition. Just remember to allow room for transformations to occur, no matter how certain your current agenda seems.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

There is an unusual balance of energy today between holding on to what you desire and simply being open to the sweetness of the moment. There is a lovely opportunity afoot when Venus, the Goddess of Pleasure, and Saturn, the God of Restriction, are in total agreement. Luckily, you might be able to have your cake and eat it too if you simultaneously maintain your current position while charting new territory. Magical thinking opens doors to new possibilities

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may be quite willing to sacrifice your own personal needs for the good of your tribe or community today, but it doesn’t help the cause if you set yourself up to play the role of a martyr or a victim. Be a compassionate participant while continuing to take good care of yourself. One doesn’t preclude the other. By making a sincere effort to balance your life in this manner, you won’t feel as depleted and there will be more of your positive energy to go around.

An Overview of Your Love Horoscopes for April 25 -27

Weekend Love Horoscope

April 25-27: From Good to Bad

Maria DeSimoneMaria DeSimone on the topics of love, horoscopes, astrology

Venus connected to Saturn may not be the most romantic, alluring aspect, but it certainly helps keep a relationship intact. This valuable link is known as the “glue” to any partnership, and if you’ve got this connection with a lover in your relationship Astrology, then you know the match will stand the test of time (for better or worse).

This weekend, while the Moon is in sensitive Pisces on Friday night, there will also be the backdrop of a friendly Venus-Saturn link. This will help you see the endurance potential in a love connection.

On Saturday, the Moon enters fiery Aries and all bets are off. This is self-directed, impulsive emotional energy, and by Sunday the Moon will make nothing but difficult links to other planets.

Expect an abrasive, argumentative and hypersensitive Sunday. It will be such a radical change from Friday that you might feel as if you’ve entered the Twilight Zone. Either way, put down your magic wand sometime Saturday and put on your suit of armor. Just in case.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Friday, April 25th

Try to accomplish as many important errands and tasks in the early hours today. The reason is that the Moon will make a hearty and soulful union with Venus in Pisces (1:04PM), but this terrific conjunction also starts a fairly long void-of-course lunar cycle that lasts until 3:02AM on Saturday. Healing forces are certainly back on the march as the Moon unites with and parallels Chiron (3:45AM and 9:50AM, respectively). Anytime a parallel aspect forms close in time to a zodiacal alignment, it adds a robust essence to the celestial bodies involved. Don’t be surprised if feelings of deja vu or being out of step with chronological time prove overwhelming. Chiron often behaves as a catalyst — vaulting humans into a fifth dimension that the great Rod Serling named The Twilight Zone. During tonight’s void Moon uncertainty cycle, the Sun unites with Mercury (8:28PM at 6 degrees of Taurus) in what astronomers call a Superior Conjunction. This occurs approximately every 4 months and reveals Mercury, moving at top daily speed, on the far side of the Sun — creating a Mercury-Sun-Earth line-up in the solar system. The eminent astrologers Dr. Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar referred to this type of cosmic alignment as a Full Mercury. Human souls are now exceedingly eager to open their minds to ingenious ideas — where some of these ideas can eventually flourish, eventually become thriving entrepreneurial ventures on Earth. If you have the time and feel the inclination, choose a partner to dance the night away as the Moon in Pisces can give you happy feet. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Current Moon Phase for April 25th – Waning Crescent

Crescent Moon

(waning /45-0 degrees)

This is a time to rest, reevaluate and reflect, pulling back into yourself to reconnect with inner sources of strength. Now is not a time to initiate anything new. It’s a phase suited to spending time with friends and getting in touch with the “big picture.” A window of opportunity exists for seeing your life objectively and becoming aware of what is important to you. At this point, what are your dreams and aspirations? What larger goals can you aspire to that will bring vitality and excitement into your life? This is a time for resting and gaining inner strength to prepare for a new cycle.

Conjuring Raw Power

Items You Need:

None

The Spell:

This is a spell for conjuring raw energies of the environment around you and focusing it toward a powerful goal. The results are usually immediate, and become more powerful with practice. Here is how it’s done.

You sit down with your legs crossed. Next, clear your mind and become one with yourself. Your mind truly needs to be clear in order for this to work. Then hold out both of your arms, and have your recessive hand and your projective hand in a fist, both of arms parallel to each other. Feel the energies of the universe entering into your recessive hand and flowing through your body towards your projective hand. Let the energy build up in your projective hand until you feel you have an immense amount of energy. Then fling your arms to the right, open your projective while doing this, and envision the energies flying towards your goal. Then recite a quick, chant that will suit your goal.

This, if practiced, will become a very powerful and useful talent.

WOTC Extra – Ritual for Men To Receive The Moon Light

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics
Ritual for Men To Receive The Moon Light

The Priest receiving the Full Moon, does not need an assistant, but may choose one if he desires. Men cannot receive the Moon in the same manner as women, nor should they visualize the Goddess merging with them. The Priest will stand, or kneel, before the altar with his head slightly bowed. Using a polished brass disk, the Moon’s light is reflected upon his forehead. At this point the Priest will visualize himself as the Full Moon itself. Once the light is received, the Priest can channel it into the bowl. Men do not “hold” Moon Light very well, and it is best to channel it off before the seven day period, which the Priestess enjoys.

WOTC Extra – 2 Rituals for Women To Receive The Moon Light

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics

Receiving the Moon’s Light: (for women)

The Priestess receiving the Full Moon, will need an assistant. The assistant will require a silver disk, smooth and highly polished. If absolutely necessary, a small hand mirror may be used in its place. The Priestess will stand or kneel before the altar, with her head bowed down. The assistant will part her hair at the base of the skull, using water or oil to help separate the hair, if it is short.

While the priestess visualizes the form of the Goddess merging from behind, into her own form, the assistant will reflect the Moon’s light upon the base of the skull, using the silver disk. You will find that this is quite difficult in city light pollution, and works best in a country setting, or a desert.

Once the Priestess receives the Moon she can channel it into the Moon bowl, or she can “store” it within her Being for seven days. This light is pure Lunar energy, and can be “impregnated” with whatever “thoughtform” the priestess desires.

Receiving the Moon’s light: (for women without assistance)

There are several ways for a woman to receive the Moon’s Light, without any assistant. The technique I gave in this subject note, is just one of the magical techniques. The Moon may also be received in a religious setting (no magic intended, just a blessing or a union with Deity). In these modern times, you can set up a mirror behind you, and angle it so that it reflects down upon you, if you desire to try the magical technique.

One of the old ways of non-magical union, was for the woman to lay nude beneath the Full Moon in the Full Moon Goddess Posture. This posture is also referred to as the Star Goddess Posture, and is an X formation, arms and legs spread out wide. The woman anoints herself with an oil of the Moon, just below her navel (forming a crescent with the oil). As she lays upon the earth, she will look up into the Moon, and slowly draw in the muscles of her abdomen, as she mentally pictures that she is drawing down the light of the Moon, into herself. Just as men draw power into themselves through the solar plexus, a woman draws power into herself through the navel region(“pit of the stomach” kind of thing. This is the center of a woman). This is just one method, but it can be a powerful experience.

Let’s Talk Witch – Working With Lunar Energy

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics
Let’s Talk Witch – Working With Lunar Energy

Without the Moon we cannot make use of the Universal Forces beyond her. In Moon Magic, the ritual altar is the focal point for the Lunar forces which are drawn upon. Women are the vessels for Lunar Energy, receiving and directing the magical force. Men can also become lunar vessels, but women are much better suited (as their biology is more attuned to the Moon’s Cycles, than are men’s biology).

· The Moon altar is placed facing the West Quarter. The altar itself should be round, but a square or a rectangle is OK.

· In the center of the altar, place a bowl of saltwater. A white sea shell is then set into the center of the bowl. As this is done, whisper the name of the Goddess who rules the current phase of the Moon, under which you are working. The new moon belongs to Diana (De-ah-nah), the Full Moon to Jana (Jah-nah) and the waning Moon to Umbrea.

· Around the bottom of the bowl. set nine white shells, forming a crescent (horns upward, as in a smile). If the magic is for the gain of something, place the shells from right to left. If the magic is for the removal, or loss of something, then place the shells from left to right. As each shell is placed, chant the name of the Goddess who presides over the goal of the magical influence you desire.

· Matters concerning “beginnings” are under Diana. Matters involving “forces”, energies, or powers are under the influence of Jana. Matters of Death, decline, and stagnation are ruled by Umbrea.

· Censers of Moon Incense are placed around the bowl, upon the altar, forming a triangle (so you have 3 incense containers forming a triangle, with the Moon Bowl in its center). A reversed triangle (V) is formed for manifestations desired upon the physical plane. Upright triangles (A) are formed for manifestation upon the astral plane.

Hear the Prayer of Aradia, the Holy Strega

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics

Hear the Prayer of Aradia, the Holy Strega

Aradia, the Holy Strega, told her followers to seek the Moon above all others, for the purposes of Magic. In the closing prayer of the Full Moon Ritual, we find these words which Aradia’s followers were later to have written :

“O’ Goddess of the Moon…
teach us your ancient mysteries…
that the Holy Strega spoke of,
for I believe the Strega’s story,
when she told us to entreat Thee,
told us when we seek for Knowledge,
to seek and find Thee above all others”.

Agrippa understood this also, when he wrote,

“Therefore. her (the moon) motion is to be observed
before the others, as the parent of all conception……hence it is,
that without the Moon intermediating, we cannot at any time
attract the power of the superiors…”

What Agrippa spoke of, is what witches have known for Ages:

The Moon is the focal point of power upon the Earth.

African Fertility Festival

In many African republics, this New Year’s Day celebrates the ancient seed-sowing ceremony performed in honor of the Goddess of fertility, Mawu. Associated with the moon, Mawu is considered to be cool and gentle. She is the creatrix who make people from clay and brings abundance to the land. In some areas, Mawu (Moon) is combined with Lisa (Sun) to create a dynamic union between the two controlling factors of universe for the protection of crops and people.

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for April 24th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

There seems to be two important things to do in times of difficulty. One is to pray and the other to keep our sense of humor. The first is essential to make the basic correction and the other is necessary to balance the human spirit while things work out.

Without a sense of humor, we tend to become too serious about the personal self. It becomes all too important, too self-righteous, and far too self-centered.

At the first sign of trouble, we may want to find someone wiser in whom to confide and ask questions. And their advice may be most helpful, but it is still our own responsibility to get off our backs and do it with dignity and self-respect that will not lower our standards nor cause us embarrassment. And humor can help us do it.

There is humor in every situation if we can detach ourselves from the seriousness of it long enough to look for it. Abraham Lincoln knew the importance of his sense of humor and said, “With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die.”

Elder’s Meditation of the Day April 24

Elder’s Meditation of the Day April 24

“Each person’s prayers can help everyone.”

–Thomas Yellowtail, CROW

Prayer is our entrance into the Unseen World. It is by prayer we can call upon the powers and laws of the Great Spirit. The Spirit World has powers and laws that are different from the Physical World. The spiritual laws allow healing to take place; they allow forgiveness to occur; they cause miracles to happen; they cause hate to disappear; they heal broken relationships; they guide every moment of our lives; they allow us to love even when it’s hard. Prayer allows us access to the Spirit World.

Creator, teach me to pray.

April 24 – Daily Feast

April 24 – Daily Feast

The wild pink verbena that grew so profusely along the slopes have moved to another area. In their place are yellow flowers, unfamiliar but like sunshine after a shower. A familiar saying is that the more something changes the more it stays the same. Flowers, like people and circumstances, change so swiftly and unexpectedly that it seems like the very foundation of the familiar is moving and changing before us. The Cherokees call this, a ma yi, creek water. It is always moving and changing before our eyes. Nature reminds us to renew our minds – to update and enlarge our vision instead of accepting the daily changes of the world that come to nothing. No one has ever been so perfect that he cannot surpass himself and bloom more brilliantly in another area.

The Daily Motivator for April 24th – Sincerely love

Sincerely love

Let go of the need to desire what the world says you should desire. Let yourself truly enjoy being who you are and living richly in the moment you’re in.

Worldly fame and fortune are mere artifacts of the things that really matter. Choose to love what you sincerely love, without the unnecessary pressure of having to impress anyone.

You don’t need permission, or certain specific circumstances, to be beautiful. You already are uniquely beautiful and worthy of a magnificent life.

Go ahead and live that life now, right where you are, with what you have, doing whatever you’re doing. Instead of placing arbitrary judgments on your situation, give your own profound love and meaning to it.

There is no limit to the joy you can create and the fulfillment you can experience on this very day. Everywhere you’ll discover beauty to be found and opportunities for living with true richness.

Stop fretting about what everyone else might do or say or think. Give your energy to all that you sincerely love, and live the great, wonderful fortune that is already within you.

The Daily OM for April 24th – The Wisdom of Surrender

The Wisdom of Surrender
Resistance Equals Persistence

by Madisyn Taylor

Resistance tends to strengthen the energies it attempts to oppose by giving them power and energy to work against.

We all know the feeling of being repeatedly haunted by the same issue, no matter how we try to ignore it, avoid it, or run away from it. Sometimes it seems that we can get rid of something we don’t want by simply pushing it away. Most of the time, the more we push away, the more we get pushed back. There are laws of physics and metaphysics that explain this phenomenon, which is often summed up in this pithy phrase: That which you resist persists.

Resistance tends to strengthen the energies it attempts to oppose by giving them power and energy to work against. Additionally, resistance keeps us from learning more about what we resist. In order to fully understand something, we must open to it enough to receive its energy; otherwise, we remain ignorant of its lessons. There is a Tibetan story of a monk who retreats to meditate in a cave only to be plagued by demons. He tries everything—chasing, fighting, hiding—to get the demons out of his cave, but the thing that finally works is surrender. He simply lets them have their way with him and only then do they disappear.

Now, this wisdom must be applied practically. We are not meant to get ourselves physically injured. Instead, this story speaks of how, in essence, our demons are inside of us. What plagues and pursues us on an inner level has a way of manifesting itself in our environment in the form of people, events, and issues that appear to be beyond our control. But all these external expressions are reflections of our insides, and it is inside ourselves that we can safely experiment with surrendering to what we fear and dislike. It may feel scary, and we may find ourselves in the company of a lot of resistance as we begin the process of opening to what we fear. But the more we learn to surrender, and the more the demons that plague us disappear in the process, the more courageous we will become.
