The Witches Magick for the Sixth Day of the Hare Moon – Celestial Power Spell

Witch

CELESTIAL POWER SPELL

Use this spell to gain rapport with the powers of the moon, stars, and planets.

Spread a white altar cloth on your altar after dark. Use a white candle and meditative music. Light the candle and turn on the music. Take several deep, complete breaths, in and out.

Merge with the divine, with Oneness, and say:

Moon, stars,

planets, and

celestial powers

Please open your

spirits to me

Moon, stars,

planets, and celestial powers

Please open your

hearts to me

Moon, stars,

planets, and

celestial powers

Please open your

arms to me

Moon, stars,

planets, and

celestial powers

Please lend your

wisdom to me

Thank you for

your celestial

energy, blessed be!

Now, gaze at the candle and meditate on the powers of the moon, stars, planets, nebulas, and other celestial formations, lending their wisdom to you and filling you with celestial light. Do this for at least fifteen minutes. Allow the candle to safely burn down when you are finished.

Let’s Talk Witch – The Important of Instinct in Magick

Gothic Witch!

THE IMPORTANCE OF INSTINCT

Trust your gut instinct at all times. You might not be able to find the proof in a book, but if you’re strongly pulled to it, use it. Your own ethical system exists as a form of barometer to warn you when something’s not quite right. Rely on it. The human mind and body are an astonishing set of partners. They take in information and act upon it without our conscious mind being aware of it. The rapidity with which we evaluate a situation and navigate through it, while multitasking on the phone, driving in a car, or walking down the street while listening to music, is simply amazing. We pick up information through the standard five physical senses of touch, sight, smell, hearing, and taste. We also have what is often referred to as a sixth sense, an undefined sense, which accesses information the other physical senses cannot. It is this sense that alerts us to knowledge we cannot possibly have acquired through standard acceptable methods.

Your intuition is part of that sixth sense. Although your conscious mind might not be able to put its metaphorical finger on the necessary knowledge at the time, your intuition turns you in the correct direction and guides you to the information you require, all without you quite understanding how or why. It can be remarkably disconcerting to discover that you “knew” the correct answer without knowing it in a traditional fashion. You might ask yourself how you knew. It’s not important. The point is, your intuition is a valuable tool in the art of spellcraft.

Intuition is what tells you to add a pinch of a certain herb to an herbal blend designed for something, even though you have no recorded correspondence anywhere connecting that herb and that goal. What happens is that your intuition grasps the bigger picture and somehow understands that adding this herb will have a beneficial action.

Intuition can be annoying, especially if you are used to working by the book. You can draft an entire spell to heal a broken heart, including flowers and soft music, only to discover, when you actually get to the moment of performing the spell, that your intuition is insisting on loud rock and roll and ice cream. It can be quite a struggle. Trusting your intuition means that you roll with it. At first it might feel awkward. I suggest a compromise: meet your intuition halfway. Stick with your original draft, but allow your intuition to toss in a couple of suggestions. Just because you can’t prove it doesn’t mean that it’s wrong.

Trusting your intuition means allowing yourself to believe that you know what you’re doing. Think back to the concept of the web of energy covering the planet. If you believe in that web, then you can also believe that information can travel to you from a variety of directions in a variety of ways.

Wednesday & The Perfect Corresponding Spell

Forest-Witch

Wednesday & The Perfect Corresponding Spell

Are you ready to dive into the complex and varied moods and attributes of a Wednesday? If so, give the following spell a go.

Quick as a Flash Spell (for Good Luck)

This good luck spell will require you to locate a Mercury dime. A Mercury, or silver, dime was a dime minted in the year 1940. It does not actually portray the god Mercury on the coin. What it shows is Lady Liberty in a winged cap. However, its hard to find them? Check a coin dealer, or, if you have a family member who collects coins, see if they have one. I called a local coin shop and was told I could pick up a Mercury dime for about a dollar.

Occasionally, if you work retail or operate the cash register, you come across silver dimes. If you look at the side of the coin, the color is silver all the way through. Plus, it makes a different type of “clink” as it hits the change drawer. Happy hunting!

Take yourself, a tablespoon of dill (a Mercury herb used for prosperity and luck), and your Mercury dime, and go to the nearest crossroads early on a Wednesday evening. ning. This can be anyplace where two streets intersect. Also bring the spell below, written ten on a piece of paper. Perhaps you’ll want to do this while you’re out walking the dog or taking a walk around the neighborhood with the kids. You can be subtle with this spell, as it is a quick one. It’s not complicated, and it’s fun! Read the spell below softly, repeating it three times:

Wednesday is for Mercury,

that quick and nimble god,

A clever and canny soul,

on winged feet he does trod.

Leave a Mercury dime at the crossroads tonight, Quick as a flash, my good luck spell will now take flight. Slip the paper back into your pocket. Make your wish for good luck, and then chuck the dime out there. (I caution you to stay away from traffic. I also don’t want you to accidentally nail a car with the dime as you toss it out there into the middle of the street.) Sprinkle the dill at the curb. As you turn to walk back home, close the spell with:

By all the power of three times three,

As I will it, then so shall it be

Note: If you perform this spell and you have your kids along, let them gently toss a penny along with your dime. They’ll think it’s fun, and that way they’ll leave your dime alone. Good luck to you and yours!

DAILY MAGICKAL APPLICATIONS FOR WEDNESDAY

WITCH

DAILY MAGICKAL APPLICATIONS FOR WEDNESDAY

To the Romans, this day was called Dies Mercurii, or “Mercury’s day” Mercury was a popular character in the Roman pantheon. A messenger of the gods, he presided over commerce, trade, and anything that required skill or dexterity. The Celts also worshiped Mercury and eventually equated him with the Norse god Odin (some spelling variations on this name include Wotan, Wodin, and Wodan). In Norse mythologies, Odin, like Mercury, is associated with poetry and music. Interestingly enough, both Odin and Mercury were regarded as psychopomps, or the leaders of souls, in their individual mythologies.

Odin, one of the main gods in Norse mythology, was constantly seeking wisdom. He traveled the world in disguise as a one-eyed man with a long gray beard, wearing an old, beat-up hat and carrying a staff or a spear (which brings to my mind images of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings). In the Old English language, this day of Mercury evolved into Wodnes daeg, “Woden’s day,” or Wednesday.

Wednesday carries all of the planetary and magickal energies and associations of the witty and nimble god Mercury himself. Some of these mercurial traits included good communication skills, cleverness, intelligence, creativity, business sense, writing, artistic talent, trickiness, and thievery. And don’t forget all of those wise and enigmatic qualities associated with the Norse god Odin/Wodin, not to mention the goddess Athena’s contributions of music, the arts, handmade crafts, and writing. Wednesdays afford excellent opportunities for seeking wisdom, changing your circumstances, and improving your skills, be they in trade and commerce, music and art, or in communication and writing.

Wednesday Is Ruled By Mercury

witch

Wednesday Is Ruled By Mercury

Wednesdays are wild and wacky days. They are for communication, change, cunning, and the arts. This is a Mercury day, and just its patron god this day is full of contradictions, change, and excitement. Some suggestions for Wednesday enchantments would include:

Pulling a little Wednesday color magic into your life by wearing purples or orange

Carrying a multipurpose agate with you and tapping into its various charms

Working with magical plants such as the fern for protection. This plant will also boost the power of any other magical plants with which it is arranged.

Incorporating lavender into charms and spells for transformation

Using the charming scent of lily of the valley to improve your memory, or working with the aspen tree for communication

Calling on Athena, patron of arts and crafts, for inspiration for a new project

Fanning out a Tarot spell to increase you creativity

Calling on Hermes on a Wednesday night to bring movement and good luck into your life

Day of Dedication to the Star Goddess. Stay up late tonight and star gaze; learn the myths associated with the constellations you are able to identify.

On this day in the year 1938, the Long Island Church of Aphrodite was established in West Hempsted, New York, by the Reverend Gleb Botkin, a Russian author and son the court physician to the last Czar of Russia.

May 5-6 Hidrellez -The Turks celebrate the first of May with picnic outings, to celebrate the spring. One of the traditional dishes served is a Yayla Chorbash, a yogurt soup, which features many foods associated with May Day including dairy, fresh herbs and the colors of white and green.

St George’s Day -Although Apr 23 is usually considered St George’s Day, Eastern Christians prefer this date. It’s again a day for going outside. Serbs rise early, before dawn and go out into the woods to bring back flowers and green for decorating homes, schools and meeting halls. It’s considered a hinge day (just like Beltane), and the start of the swimming season.

On this day Bulgarians used to smear their doorjambs with fresh lamb’s blood as a charm against sickness and evil, which suggests the older custom that underlies the story of Passover and may be related to a feast of shepherds in the spring. Especially since in Bulgaria it is on this day that farmers ask St George to send them an even bigger lamb, promising to use it in the ceremony the next year. In Russia, this day is especially connected with soldiers, as is St George.

Be bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.

Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?

What A Glorious & Blessed Wednesday We Have Been Given! Good Morning & Goddess You!

...

An it Harm None

This world would be a better place,

If everyone believed,

The pagan rule of bring no harm,

To those who live and breath,

But that’s an idealogoly,

That can never be fulfilled,

For religions all around the world,

Bear other faiths I’ll will.

They all say they are peaceful,

They say their God is right,

They say that if you don’t believe,

You should forfeit your life,

Just look back at history,

And even here today,

A world without religion?

That’s never going to be,

For faiths will fight to put their God,

On the pinnacle of the tree,

And if there’s no religion,

What then will man fight for?

For man must fight for something,

He must always be at war.

You know my friends, it seems to me,

That whatever you believe,

We only want to live in peace,

But that will never be,

For God will be on both sides,

Fighting against himself,

And we are mere pawns in His game,

His game of cat and mouse.

But we could thwart His little game,

If we only had the will,

To turn our back on evil things,

And bear no one I’ll will,

Following the pagan way,

With nature we’d be one,

And we would praise the morning dew,

And the setting of the sun.

Observing Incense Smoke

1afb268a865cd933188eeebb246605c2

When I first saw this posted on Facebook I was sceptical. So I made it a point of observing incense smoke when I light them. Sure enough if I haven’t cleansed my room or wherever I am burning it recently the smoke looks all uptight but if I have then it just kind of billows into the free air. Try watching the next time you light one and then try to feel how the energy in your home feels to you.

Blessed be

Well, I do believe that should get you started on Ogham….

Bright Blessings Pictures

That’s what I get for letting the batteries run down in my clock, lol! I didn’t realize it was getting this late. And somebody who will remain nameless kept pushing Ogham posts at me, hmm, Mystie know anything about that? Anyway, we are calling it a day for now. There is enough information on the Oghams to keep posting for a month about them (I know that thrilled y’all, lol!). But we will get them posted. There are too many to try to do at one time, I hope you understand.

We have something’s to get done around here. Watering, pulling weeds, cleaning fans and so on. You know if any of y’all aren’t busy you could stop by and help, lol! Heck, we wouldn’t ever get anything done if that was to happen. And I ain’t get anything done by continue to sit here either. So on that note, I will say…..

Have a very blessed Tuesday,

We Love ya,

Lady A

Diety: Lir, the sea-god and Gwydion The Magician.
Ash: (Nion: NEE-uhn) Nuin. Battle of Draiocht Prosperity/Harm Nua/Nuin/Hardihood. Feminine — Moon of Waters . The fifth tree and its latin name is fraxinus meaning firelight. The Ash is also known as the Cosmic Ash, or World Tree. It is said to be an ancestor of humankind. In Greece powerful families were believed to have come from ash trees. In Celtic cosmology, it is said to connect the three circles of existence – Abred, Gwynedd and Ceugant – which can be variously interpreted as past, present and future, or as confusion, balance and creative force; there being no hell, but only continual rebirth as passage is made from circle to circle until the Land of the Blessed is finally reached.

The common ash is a major tree of the lowland forests in much of Europe & is considered an important timber tree. It is the traditional material for the handle of a besom & a popular wood for making wands. The Ash tree has the toughest, most elastic wood & is used in weaver’s beams. The women would weave cloth and intermingling threads together in a tight pattern as the microcosm and the macrocosm are united. The bark of the ash can be used as a substitute for quinine in intermittent fevers. Simmer 2 Tablespoons of bark for 20 minutes in one cup of water. Take a quarter cup four times daily. The leaves have a laxative effect. Steep 2 Tablespoons of the leaf in one cup of water for 20 minutes & take a quarter cup daily. The Ash tree symbolizes the linking of the inner and outer worlds. You may feel locked in or bound but this aids in realizing that all things are connected. Magickal Associations: Prosperity, protection, healing. Healing wands and protective staffs are made of ash. If you bury a newborn’s nail trimmings beneath an ash tree, it is said to ensure that he or she will grow up to be a good singer.

Physical: You and the world are interconnected & your actions echo continually, infinitely in the cosmos, so stay aware of the effects of your actions.
Mental:Your problems or questions do not solely belong to you. Many others have these same qualms & musings, so try & look at the question in a broader sense and ask opinions of others.
Spiritual: Try your best to realize & understand that all things are connected. Balance your needs with the Earth’s.

Saille/Willow, April 15 – May 12

Divination: Intuition, creativity, fertility, mysticism

 About Saille / Willow

Tree- Willow
Month- February
Color- Bright Colors
Letter- S
Class- peasant
Animals- Hare, cat, hawk
Planet: The Moon
Gemstone: Moonstone
Flower: Primrose
Diety: Morgan le Fay or the Morrigan
Willow: (Saille: SAHL-yuh) Battle of Divination Support/Denial Súil/Séanadh/Resistance. Feminine– The Witches’ Moon; Moon of Balance. The willow is sacred to the triple Goddess, especially Cailleach the old Crone aspect; she represents the dark side and wisdom. The Willow in the Tree alphabet stands for the female and lunar rhythms of life. Water and tidal movements of the sea are governed by the pull of the moon. The moon in its monthly rhythms is female, contrasting with the male sun’s daily and yearly turnings. In many ways, the Celtic people held women in higher esteem than we do today. In the olde days, the celtic women were allowed to be property owners unlike women in other nations, and whoever controlled the property controlled the marriage. They were also allowed to keep their last names after marriage, depending upon the importance of the family name.

Today, both North America and Europe are home to a large number of the willow species. Two common tree willows are the white willow & the crack willow. The willow is another tree that loves water & the bark also contains a pain reliever called Salicin which is used in the treatment of rheumatic fever, arthritis, headaches, diarrhea, dysentery, fevers, edema, and ovarian pain. Salicin is the active constituent from which aspirin was first synthesized. To make the tea, steep 3 teaspoons of bark in one cup of cold water for 2-5 hours, then boil for one minute, and strain. It is also available as a powder. The powder dose is one teaspoon, 3 times a day in tea or capsules. The tincture can be taken in 10-20 drop doses four times a day. The Willow governs the cycles, rhythms, the ebb, and the flux. Magickal Associations: Romantic love, healing, protection, fertility, magick for women, and gaining balance. It is said that the willow tree has a healing aura that blesses all that it touches.

Physical:The material world is full of lessons and cycles of ever changing values. Change is necessary for growth, and values are no exception.
Mental: To gain understanding of something, a continued accumulation of knowledge is the foundation that brings it about. You can not take everything into yourself in a single lesson. Repetition is your key to greater knowledge & understanding.
Spiritual: Time to take it easy & relax. Learn to play with the cyclical nature of things.

Fearn/Alder, March 18 – April 14

Divination:Resilience, strength, energy

About Fearn /Alder

Tree- Alder
Month- January
Color- Crimson
Letter- F,V
Class- Chieftain
Animals- Red fox, ram, stallion, gull
Planet: Mars
Gemstone: Ruby
Flower: Broom
Diety: Bran or Arthur
(Fearn: FAIR-n) Battle of Philosophy Shielding/Fury Fearn/Fearg/ Contention. Masculine — Moon of Utility; Moon of Efficacy; Moon of Self-Guidance. Fearn, the fourth tree is associated with water and stands for resurrection. The catkin bearing alder resists decay in its watery habitat. The water spirits, the undines, love this tree as well as the unicorn. The buds of the Alder are set in spirals, the symbol of life and re-birth, a balancing tree of Male and Female energy. Alders are members of the Birch family (Betulaceae) and are common along lowland rivers. Like willows, an alder sprouts from a stump & this allows them to regenerate after heavy flooding.

Bran the Blessed is the god associated with the alder. According to legend, he used his body to span dangerous waters and raise his followers above it. Mortally wounded in a battle with the Irish, Bran prophesied the events that would follow soon after his death, then instructed his followers to cut off his head and take it with them. They traveled to Harlech, where the head sang for seven years; then to Gwales, the head remaining uncorrupted and continueing to prophesy. Finally, stopping in London, Caer Llyndain, they buried Bran’s head at the White Mount, or Bryn Gwyn, now the site of the Tower of London. It was said that as long as the head remained concealed it would give protection against plague from across the oceans. Bridges were commonly constructed of alder. The Alder suggests protection and the powers of the oracles. They are used for spiritual guidance, protection and help in decision making, teaching, weather magick, duty, and mental prowness.

Physical: Be aware of singularity in yourself and in others. Be sure to acknowledge whatever you see in others if possible.
Mental: You will avail yourself of something you have previously overlooked. The skills of the Oracle are not easily acknowledgeable because the mind is more often than not, either unable or unwilling to deal with the intuitive part of itself.
Spiritual:You will offer spiritual aid and protection in a dispute or disagreement. Do not fear. Just allow your intuition to be your guide.
